At the beginning of Perilous, the third book in Stephanie Powell's Pink Trilogy, protagonist Cassie is in bad shape: sleeping all day, staying up at night, devastated and traumatized. Powell creates an accurate portrayal of what Cassie would be going through following such a terrible ordeal. By the end of the novel, the author effectively incorporates and resolves both Pink and Puzzle in Perilous. The action is nonstop, providing the reader with constant surprises. Her writing is unfailingly great, and she manages to build a world and create effective scenes without detracting from the action. In particular, I loved the conversations with Lone. The font, the voice, and the storytelling elements all drew me in. The Lone monologue is compelling, and Powell does a nice job of breaking it up with some dialogue. Readers who enjoy science fiction, strong writing, and innovative story-building will love Stephanie Powell's Perilous. From beginning to end, it is a wild ride!

Stephanie Powell's 3rd book in the trilogy was so much fun to read. I found myself becoming more and more attached to the characters as the story progressed from Cassie's complicated and often unpredictable relationship with Sam to her heartfelt ties to Jamie. The introduction to Lone, a new presence in this book, adds depth to each character as they struggle to find the truth within themselves despite overwhelming outside forces pulling them in opposite directions. The twists and turns of the plot kept me turning the page until the end. A satisfying read as the author did a great job of seamlessly tying all 3 books together in the end.

This book is nonstop action and ties everything up from the first two books. You find out why Sam and Cassie are the way they are. You find out how they are connected and you find out why the XY virus happened and why they can travel to other dimensions. As the book went along, I thought okay this is going to turn cheesy but it didn't. It had a nice wrap-up at the end.
