Teagan Kade thinks talking about yourself in the third person is silly, just like her collection of snow globes and rare manga. When she's not being silly, she's hanging out with her own Storm and two children in the south of Australia, dreaming of new characters and torturous ways they can get themselves into trouble. Teagan loves hearing from her readers, all of whom are as dear to her heart as salted caramel cookies. Shoot her an email at: teagan@teagankade.com. She doesn't bite.

When he finds out that she is looking into the weird animal presence outside the woods he makes himself available to help her. The more Edie is around Deric she notices that he is more than what she is told and feels herself growing to like him. They find themselves in danger a couple time which leads them to having sex. Can they find out what is really going on or will the threat find them first?
This was a great story with a surprise twist. The chemistry between Deric and Edie is sizzling hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to anyone that loves losing themselves in a great book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. I enjoyed it so much I bought my own copy.
3 1/2 stars I have to say that I usually love Teagan's stories. But this one was kind of a hit and miss for me. At first, I thought Edie was a guy. HAHA, it took me a bit for me to figure out that she was a girl. Once I did, then it made more sense.
The guys in this book were such children. Deric is the main male in this story. He walks around with his shirt open and flirts and sleeps with every woman he comes across. But when he meets Edie he falls for her. It is very fast. That is what got me. This book is very fast with their relationship. The mystery is interesting and keeps you going.
So all together, I read it, I would not reread it.
So perfect! The chemistry and the butting of heads really did it for me with this book. Teagan Kade is wonderful. I am beyond excited to read Dex's story when it comes out. I would highly recommend. Happy reading! Rating 5 stars
Edie Ness is a relative of the legendary FBI Agent Eliot Ness. Her father and brothers are all in the FBI, but she has always had an affinity for animals so she is with the US Fish and Wildlife Department. She has previously on a case in San Francisco where she was shot. Her father has pull and he gets her reassigned to a backwoods town so she will be out of harms way. When she goes to the local Ranger office and talks to Jasper who is with the with the local Ranger Station, she runs into Deric who is a big womanizer. She shoots him down when he tries to put his moves on her. Jasper gave her a case where someone has been shooting wildlife, skinning them, and taking their organs. She calls her boss to tell him she is going to work on the case, and he tells her to leave it be as it wasn’t their job but the par rangers. She decides to work on it in her own time, and Deric worms his way into helping her since she doesn’t know their woods and mountains.
This book was so good with love, action, and sex. Edie has always had her brothers and father telling her what to do and trying to protect her. She hates it and wants them to see she can handle herself in any situation. Then Deric has the personality who wants to protect and take care of people. When he starts in with Edie, it does not go over well with her. There are surprises in the book, people who are not who you think they are, adventure, and love. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
An amazing book. This not your millionaire, billionaire, secret baby. second chance. fake romance. It is a gritty tale of one stubborn Fish and Wildlife officer, Edith/Edie and a wildlife tour guide, Deric. Edie was reassigned from San Francisco to Tamanass. Tamanass is in the deep wild country mountainous area. Wildlife is abundant. Edie feels she was given a demotion being sent there. However, she is assigned a case from the local police that she can dig her teeth into and her boss, Ken shoots her down and tells her that she is not to pursue it, to find her own cases. She decides to investigate on her own time. When she meets Deric it is a love hate relationship. Edie has had to work twice as hard as a man to get to where she is. She is determined. obstinate, stubborn, fearless, and sometimes jumps into danger without thinking. Deric is handsome, knows his way around the forest and mountain. He has a well known reputation with the ladies. But he feels different when he is with Edie. He wants to protect Edie from danger. The suspense and danger is just beginning. Will Edie solve the case? Will Deric convince Edie he cares more for her than another woman he has known? Will Edie let Deric into her heart? Will Deric let Edie do her job without interference? Will they survive the dangers in the deep forest and from the evil intent of the bad element there? This is an excel read. I highly recommend this.I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a fast paced action packed suspenseful read. Edie might be tiny but she is a total no nonsense bad a**. Her mother died giving birth to her so she was raised by her father an FBI agent and 4 older brothers who are cops. Being the only girl in the family they were very overprotective of her. She is a Special Agent for the Fish and Wildlife Department and felt she has always had tpm prove herself because she is so tiny and her family has always told her she couldn't do this or that because she's a female. So when she gets shot and almost dies her father had her transferred to a remote place that has had no agent for 6 years. She knows he just wants to keep her safe, but she doesn't need any help she can take care of herself. All the males in Deric's family have been firefighters, and he always wanted to be one, but he had asthma growing up and no fire department wanted to take a chance on him possibly having an attack while out on a call. His father was killed on duty and has always felt like he needed to watch over every one he cared about. When Edie and Deric first meet it doesn't go very well. She was already warned that he was male whore slept with a different girl every night and never twice with the same one. Their chemistry is otc and I loved the interaction between the two of them. They may not like each other but couldn't keep their hands t them selves. This is a must read.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book. A gripping read with an HEA. Teagan Kade never disappoints with her suspenseful, hilarious and hot reads, she nails it every time for me. Edie is a federal agent for the Fish & Wildlife department sent to Tamanass to recover from a gunshot wound that shattered her shoulder by her over protective father and 4 brothers, little did they know she was not as safe as they expected! Edie meets the lothario of Tamanass, Deric who works at Hell’s Tours, a guide service. Will Edie need Deric’s help with the investigation in a big sophisticated poaching operation, where many carcasses have been found on the mountain? Deric is drawn to her but he’s going to have to work extremely hard to impress her. He craves control but so does Edie! She is determined she will not be another notch on his bed post and keeps rejecting him. But there is steaming hot, raw chemistry between them, but both have broken from past issues and failed expectations. A gripping story with lots of action and not only in the bedroom! A great twist at the end that throws you for six, that is most unexpected. I can only but highly recommend this superb read.
Teagan Kade does it again with the second in the Hell's Bitters series! Edie is a feisty Federal agent whose protective Fed family pulled strings to get her assigned to a quiet outback mountain post following her bad injuries in her last position. Mount Halbbitter is big, wild, beautiful - just like Deric Halbbitter, descendant of the mountain's namesake, co-owner of the adventure tour company and renowned ladies' man. Speculation is that few if any women still reside in the area who haven't sampled his well-endowed wares due to his gorgeous face and body and inability to converse without flirting. When Edie learns about the bad poaching activity on the mountain that her supervisor decides is not important enough to warrant her attention, she decides to go ahead and look into it on her own time. Deric happens to hear this plan and decides for her that there is no way that she will be doing that in the dark by herself since she doesn't know the area and the mountain is exactly what he knows best (besides his way around the bedroom). What happens next is a thrilling (and red hot) adventure that draws Edie and Deric closer and closer together. I was totally psyched to receive an ARC of this book and simply couldn't put it down once I started. Fabulous!
Well! That was an intense, fast-moving, high octane heat, love to hate, bad to the women with a man too suave for his own good following right behind her into the fire! WOO! Yep... I ended this beast of a story.. first thing that came to mind; I needed MORE! Needed more of what? Seems a little extreme right?! Well, thats the frame of mind I was in after reading Edie and Deric's passionate race against the elements, corruption, chauvinistic values, and maybe even some love? Back up on Mt. Halbbitter, Deric is running tours and women per usual, but the wildlife is getting a bit dangerous when no-nonsense Edie, Fish and Wildlife Special Agent moves into town, Deric's views on a lot of things start to shift! A hot, demanding, witty story that I could not put down! These two crazy characters were all over the place, and I wanted more! Suspenseful with Edie a.k.a " Lara Croft " showing Mr. Protective smug pants ( still hot n swoon-worthy IMO tho) that she was more than capable of getting the job done! Fantastic details made for some pitesqures scences.. I am all for this book! I was sad to see it end! I would love an epilogue! Definite #OneClick Material!
Reckless is full of action, suspense and a twist. I really loved this book, but it lost a star because Deric was just too much of an arrogant jerk for my taste. He says mean hurtful things. He does redeem himself in the end. In my opinion Teagan Kade writes good stories of flawed characters trying to find themselves. Edie is trying prove she does not need to be protected and can take care of herself. She does not know how to ask for help when she needs it, she doesn't want to look weak. She just wants to do her job, with know interference from her overbearing brothers and father. She wants to be in control of her life. Deric is a control freak, that is a protector. He wants to control everything and everyone. When Edie and Deric meet they butt heads constantly. I was constantly wanting to throw my Kindle when Deric opened his mouth. He was very frustrating. There was a twist at the end I had figured out, but I doubt that most figured it out. Even with Deric as frustrating as he was In my opinion Reckless is worth reading. I received an ARC edition for my honest and voluntary review.
This was such a good read! The writing flows well, and the characters were developed nicely. Some of the animal stuff was mentioned in the first book, but everything came to a head in this one. Deric and Edie had great chemistry, and they were good together for the most part. Edie was stubborn to a fault. I understand that she spent her whole life with her dad and her brothers telling her what to do, but I still think she was in the wrong for what went down. Deric is made to be the one that apologizes, but I felt like Edie needlessly put herself and Deric in danger. Proving a point is no reason to walk into a situation that you know nothing about. Everything eventually works out, and I was happy to see them be able to be together. I wish that Edie would have had to swallow her pride a little and admit that she wouldn't have been able to do it without Deric's help. I would have loved to have an epilogue with this book. I enjoy being able to see into their futures a little bit. I can't wait to find out what happens with Dex. I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.
A fast paced read that kept me turning the pages as the biggest man wh***, Deric, meets a strong & determined Special Agent, Edie, with the US Fish & Wildlife. She turns him down, he’s stunned but that doesn’t stop him from wanting to conquer her. As things heat up in their private life, she’s determined to crack a case of illegal poaching on his mountainside, & nothing is going to stop her, not even Deric, making him want to protect & control her so she doesn’t get hurt. Will their relationship survive the danger & his controlling ways. A great read with steamy scenes, suspense, danger, a twist & a surprise near the end, a man wh** & a woman who has to keep proving herself. I enjoyed these two, their attraction, their banter especially when she gets her digs in & rejects him. I also enjoyed how Deric can’t seem to stay away from Edie & how he finally feels what all the women in his past used to feel when she treats him like he treated other women. Only thing missing for me was an epilogue as it seemed to just end with them together. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*
Although a stand-alone this is the second book Teagan has written about the partners who own the adventure tour business. The first book “Feral” told the story of Deric's sister Ava and Deric's partner Dean. “Reckless” involves Deric who has become bored with his playboy ways and feels he would like something more permanent and Edie a Federal Agent with US Fish & Wildlife who has been reassigned to the backwater town. When Deric and Edie meet there is definitely electrifying chemistry between the two but Edie has no intentions of mixing business with pleasure. “Reckless” has everything I love in a book, tension, passion, danger, suspense, hilarity, a super hot alpha male and a super stubborn but adorable heroine. If your looking for an excellent plot that will keep you at the edge of your seat “Reckless” is for you. Don't miss out. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
We first met Deric in "Feral". What? You didn't read "Feral"?!? Shame on you. While it's not necessary to have read it before starting "Reckless", it does help to understand the "world" that Ms. Kade has set this story. Deric is a cocky "Devil" with a love-them-leave-them reputation. Since his sister and his best-friend got married, he's has been thinking about long-term relationships. Then he meets Edie. After being injured on her last assignment, Edie's overprotective father pulls strings to get her a safe assignment. Edie is tired of overprotective men and wants to prove herself. When her hunt for poachers turns dangerous, she finds herself with another overprotective man- Deric. Will this "Devil" save the girl and find a HEA for himself? I loved this story! Looking forward to the last "Devil"- Dex- getting his story.
*I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this story as well as purchasing a copy which I am voluntarily reviewing*
This KU library selection is the second in a series, following Feral, book one. It features Edie Ness, a federal fish and wildlife agent assigned to the My Halbbitter park, what's supposed to be a safe, rural assignment. Deric Helbbitter assigns himself as her guide, recognizing she will need help traversing the unforgiving terrain as she acquaints herself with her newly assigned territory. But the two quickly discover a ring of poachers are working the area and Edie sees the opportunity to advance her career by apprehending the lawbreakers. Her reckless behavior and attitude puts not only her own safety at risk, but Deric's as well, so much so that I lost respect for the character. Even with the happy ending, it was still unsettling. For that reason, I give it 3 stars. This copy contains 3 bonus books: Blaze, Hustle and Lawless, which I didn't read.
This is a fabulous, well written, intense and super-steamy romance with plenty of action, suspense and peril! Edie is struggling yet again to get out from under the protective barrier her father and brothers have surrounded her with. This makes her somewhat reckless in her zeal to prove she’s badass enough to solve her cases on her own. Deric’s used to being in control – a throwback to his early childhood need to prove his worth and protect those he loves. He’s also a golden Adonis and as such, quite a womanizer. Sparks fly when these two meet – and they’re not sparks of lust, at least not on Edie’s part. Their early encounters are particularly entertaining as Edie tries to deny her growing attraction for Deric. I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author, and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book All Federal Agent Edie Ness wants is to be taken seriously. She knows her dad and brothers have always protected her but she wants to be seen as just as good as them. Now she just wants this case to work, after Dangerous Poachers. Never does she dream of meeting him...Deric Halbbitter who helps run a tourist adventure company , change her life forever. Deric is just sex on legs and attracts the women but she can’t let him get in the ways of her job goals. Begrudgingly, they have to work together but now watch the sparks fly. An action packed story that won’t disappoint. Lots of action, danger, poachers, wild animals and that’s the quiet bits. Together Deric and Edie set their lives on fire, so passionate, fiery , stubborn, determined all at one. Loved it
I absolutely loved this second book in the series about Deric and Edie. Deric is the brother of Ava and best friend to Dean who we met in Feral. These two are so well matched and I like that Edie is a strong and independent woman who at times lets that cloud her judgement. Deric feels protective of Edie even though he has never felt that way about anyone but his sister and his friends. Edie feels a need to prove herself. Coming from a family with a strong history in law enforcement she is assigned to the fish and wildlife department that overseas where Deric and his friends run there business near. Things start to become dangerous when Edie finds out that men are illegally poaching animals in the mountains. Who is behind it is quite a surprise to both Edie and Deric. Through it all the two are unable to deny the attraction to one another. This is a hot and steamy read with just a bit of danger to make this a great read. Very well written. I can not wait to read Dex's story. I loved the HEA!
Her stories have some strong willed, sexy, irritating but in the end lovable characters. This time we experience an arrogant, sexy and he knows it, but most of the times accurate alpha male, Deric who hides behind a past that has made him into the man he is. Also, a very strong, dominate, out to prove herself, federal agent, Edie who is sent to a location that her family and job felt she would be safe and able to heal after her last assignment.
Two very strong characters meet, buck heads and hormones but find so much more than they bargained for while trying to save the wildlife of the forest and stay alive from the bad men.
Lots of action, romance and an overall great story.
I loved this book! I just couldn't stop reading it! I was so glad to start reading this series.
I love how Edie is (introduced) to Deric by her neighbors. Then the run in they have at the Ranger's office and how she listens in on his conversation with Lexi. The way Jasper lets Deric know exactly who Edie is was just perfect. I love how these two interact with each other why on their adventure trying to find the poachers and the captured campers. It takes a lot for Deric to admit that Edie can handle herself and I was glad he finally figured that out.
I would have loved to see an Epilogue with this couple sometime down the road. I realize a little of their story was in Feral Epilogu, I am only hoping I see them a little in Savage.
Edie and Deric’s story is breathtaking, thrilling and hot, all at the same time! It is impossible to put this book out of hand once you start reading. I never met more stubborn protagonists, arguing over everything and nothing, trying to drive me crazy while reading their story! There were moments I wanted to shake some sense in Edie… and to thank Deric profoundly for keeping up with her…. But there also were moments I totally understood Edie’s point of view and her rebellion against the male dominance in her life…
A suspenseful, fast- paced, breathtaking and hot romance you will not want to miss!
I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.
What a great beginning, a Federal Agent is being "banished" to the boonies because her Dad is scared for her, and who happens to catch her eye? The biggest playboy of the backwood devils. This is the second book based around a small town in Washington, where three friends decide to start an outdoor guide business. The story is engaging, and love the danger and tension between the two characters. Love how characters from the previous book are weaved into the story. I just loved the descriptions, made me miss my hometown in Washington. I voluntarily read a copy of this book and absolutely loved it.
While there is a whole lot to love about this book...like a masterfully written storyline, with characters you don’t normally hear about unless you watch Animal Planet’s Lone Star Law (female Fish and Game officers), crazy twists and turns, godawful evil men, and an HEA that rocks. I really wanted to give this one 5 stars, but felt I needed to take off half a star because Deric was just too full of himself. Made the story read a little too cheesy for 5 stars. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and while really enjoying the texture of the story, Deric was way too annoying for me.) ❤️
Edie is from a family of FBI agents, and is assigned to the US Fish & Wildfire Dept, after being injured in the line of duty. When she crosses sexy womanizer Deric, the sparks fly and she refuses to entertain his pick up lines. When she is going to investigate a case, Deric worms his way in by convincing her to let him help as he is no stranger to the mountains. This is entertaining with humorous banter, and is a steamy and thrilling read. This is a well written story which had me hooked and intrigued throughout. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all readers.
This was an exciting read filled with action both in and out of bed that made for an entertaining read. I loved Edie’s character her being an agent is not your normal romance type but she brought it especially when she gets Deric’s attention. Their chemistry gets hotter as they try to fight their attraction but when it gets too much boy their loving was hot and sexy. I would definite recommend this newest release that didn’t disappoint.
Reckless by Teagan Kade a five-star read that will make you reckless. This was the hottest book this author has written by far!! I adore the writing, but this was by far the hottest, Edie is a fantaboulous character she made me chuckle as well as made me blush. I was so ready to hear more about Deric when I read Feral he left me full of intrigue and yumminess. Will he get his moment in the spotlight now? This was such a great read, we have met some of the characters in Feral but this is a stand-alone read.
4.5 stars. This has it all...terrific writing, suspenseful plot, sexy characters and a great ending. Fantastic second story about Hell Bitters and the boys, ah, I mean hot sexy MEN. I’ve been waiting for the next story after reading Dean and Ava’s story in Feral and Deric’s story does not disappoint. I love, love, love Edie and her take no prisoners ‘tude. Poor Deric didn’t know what hit him but boy did he turn it around on her. Deric is a great personality and a swoon-worthy, panty-melting hunk. Loved their sexy chemistry. Can’t wait for Dex’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
The vivid imagery created by the author was astounding, I admire the talent that can transport a reader from their bedroom (or favourite reading spot) to another place and seemingly so effortlessly. The steam factor is intense and I loved the characters, they could never be called one-dimensional and they have huge personalities that draw you in and make you feel like you are sharing a journey with friends. The setting and story line are wonderfully written and will keep you transfixed from the first word.
I don't like giving low star counts to someone's hard work but that is the rating scale for "ok" on Goodreads. And for me, this story is only ok for me. I understand that Edie is struggling for the professional respect her family (all men in law enforcement of some sort) seem to deny her. However, Her reckless makes me wonder if they are totally in the wrong. She seems so concerned to "prove herself" that she just flies into dangerous scenarios with regard to her or Deric's safety. The premise had merit but I just couldn't find myself really liking the character unfortunately.
