Film and television actor and personality Dallas Page has been entertaining millions of fans for over 20 years. The athletic, 52 year-old Page knew at an early age that he was born to entertain. His grandmother called him “energetic”—truly an understatement. Whether it was barreling through his grandma’s kitchen on his tricycle, swinging from chandeliers at the babysitter’s house, or cannonballs at neighborhood pool parties, Page knew how to grab an audience and have them eat out of the palm of his hand.

With his size, strength and natural ability, Page excelled in multiple sports high school and college. After college, Dallas Page followed his calling to entertain, entering the nightclub business and quickly established himself as one of the south’s leading club owners and promoters. But he still had the pro wrestling “itch.” On a whim, Page sent a tape to the AWA (American Wrestling Alliance), one of the country’s premiere professional wrestling organizations. The AWA promoters immediately offered Page a contract to “manage”—escorting and doing all of the ‘over-the-top’ talking—their top stars. With his long, curly hair, conceited manner and ever present “Diamond Dolls,” “Diamond” Dallas Page was a natural at working crowd intofrenzy and became the man fans loved to hate.

Word of Page’s talent began to spread throughout the wrestling establishment. Unlike most wrestling managers that could only talk a good game, Page had the size and athleticism to go with it. Established superstars such as Dusty Rhodes and Magnum, T.A. convinced Page to expand his role and learn to be a complete wrestler. At age 35, Page entered the fabled WCW “Power Plant” and soon after became the oldest rookie in pro wrestling history

Page’s incredible work ethic, training regimen and preventative maintenance along with unmatched personal focus and determination, enabled him to battle the hands of time and stay healthy enough to wrestle men half his age for years to come. His uncanny ability to create and re-create his character propelled him to national notoriety and made him one of the hottest merchandising commodities in professional wrestling, first for WCW, then, the WWF which now have merged to become the WWE.

During Page’s fourteen year pro wrestling career, he captivated audiences and became a three-time world champion. His matches with wrestling legends such as Hulk Hogan, Randy “Macho Man” Savage, and Bill Goldberg became legendary. And as networks, actors and professional athletes became more interested in the fan base and ratings that professional wrestling was attracting, Diamond Dallas Page became the unlikely tag team partner of late-night talk show host Jay Leno, basketball great Karl Malone and movie star David Arquette. Pay-per-view and charity match appearances versus Hogan and perennial “bad boy” Dennis Rodman are memorable to both fans and non-fans alike.

Throughout Page’s wrestling career, Hollywood has recognized his ability to be more than just a pro wrestling icon. Never one to settle for just being “good enough,” Page sought out renowned acting coach and theatre director Howard Fine in order to hone his acting skills. “Diamond Dallas Page is one of the most fearless and intense actors that I have ever taught,” said Fine, whose list of acting students includes Brad Pitt, Michael Chiklis and Salma Hayek. “He throws himself into every performance and never fails to compel attention. He can play a wide range of characters and is actually quite adept at comedy but give him a psychotic killer to play and you can expect fireworks.” Page easily bridged the gap between sports entertainment wrestling and mainstream entertainment, starring in feature films including director Rob Zombie’s, The Devil’s Rejects. “DDP is a true professional. He is as dedicated in the acting ring as he is in the wrestling ring,” said Zombie. Page’s other film roles include Driftwood, Ready to Rumble, First Daughter, Rat Race, Splinter and Snoop Do

62 years young, and still got the BANG!!! I have been a huge DDP fan since I saw his first match, i thought he was a great performer. As much Sting was known as the franchise of WCW, DDP has always been the workhorse of. As much as I thought he was an awesome performer, even I never thought he would go on to achieve everything he has gone on to achieve.

I really thought that me being such a big fan, who has already heard Dallas' amazing life and career story before, I would not enjoy it this time round. WRONG!!! I got goosebumps reading DDP run from manager to champion. Proving all his naysayers wrong again and again.

DDP lives his gimmick. I can't even say it better than DDP does. He was taught to become DDP by every event that occurred in his life. This mean is accepts/owns his life experiences. He calibrated the positives and learned from the negatives.

His message is amazing. You can truly achieve anything if you first believe, but secondly (possible more importantly) put in the work, then thirdly not give up.

The book is in almost 3 parts. First is the shifting of the people's mindsets, second DDP's life, and lastly, food (I did not say diet). There are success stories throughout the book.

I am a strong believer in work ethic over ability, possible why I relate DDP so much. I really like the message and formular of the book and DDPY. A success story goes on to inspire others to succeed in inspiring.

I'm a Certified DDPY Level 1 Instructor. DDPY has helped me heal from a variety of injuries, so I know that the program works. DDP is one of the most inspirational people on the planet, simply because he doesn't stop believe in you. Like Mick Foley says in the intro, Dallas doesn't know you, but he sure as hell believes in you and your ability to accomplish your wildest dreams - literally. This book is a great way to capitalize on that "new year, new me" motivation by helping you game plan exactly HOW you're going to accomplish all those things you've planned to do. Ready to own your life? Start reading the book, monkey!

Not what I was expecting, but maybe at least a little bit of what I needed.

This book was not what I thought it would be when I got a copy. I had assumed (admittedly without much basis) that this was going to be more of a memoir. It had those elements to it, but it is more of a self-help book. And that type of book I've never really read. I enjoyed hearing about DDP's life, childhood, his journeys through pro wrestling and then wellness. He's an impressive guy, no doubt about it and I admire his grit and--more importantly--the heart he has under that tough as nails exterior.

I liked the first half better than the latter half. I'm applying some of the positivity principles, goal setting, and attitude adjustments. The latter half had a bit of a sales pitch vibe to it, which--don't get me wrong, that's totally cool especially since I didn't look at the description before delving into this. But I think I'm going to get more out of the advice from the first half of the book than the latter half. I understand the points made about nutrition, but putting some of that into practice would be a bit more than I could handle every day.

That being said, you can bet your butt I'm going to check out the DDPY book. Give that a shot. And yes. I will look more closely at those labels. That's doable for sure.

I had never heard of Diamond Dallas Page until recently when my husband was watching a documentary with him in it. I was intrigued by what he was doing and how he was helping many people out by using his DDP Yoga. I saw where people were able to do yoga who were not able to do any other kind of exercise. I thought this was genius and made me interested in reading first this book and then to do his program. As someone who has difficulties with doing certain types of exercise this book made me want to try his yoga out. This book definitely has allowed me to learn more about Diamond Dallas Page and how he has helped even celebrities out and how he himself was able to workout again. I highly recommend this book for all those who feel like they can't workout due to disabilities and more.

DDP will make you believe that you can accomplish anything if only you believe in yourself first. The first 150 plus pages of this book is inspirational for anyone who has a dream and wants to one day achieve success. Dallas will teach you to believe in yourself, pick yourself up from out of the dirt and mud, and motivate you to work hard at achieving your goals. And when you fail, that's okay. Failure is a part of the journey to success. Pick yourself back up and keep moving forward. Thanks DDP for making me believe in myself when I first began doing DDPY back in 2013. You are truly a life changer!

There was a bit of good wisdom in the book but overall I thought the writing was a bit skewed and in the end it just turned out to be like some big infomercial. Too little too late for me in regards to self help

I've been a lifelong wrestling fan, as well as a NJ resident, so I already knew quite a bit about DDP. I was hoping this book would bring about some revelation of information that would kick start me into changing my life.
While it was not the big "ah ha!" moment I was hoping for, it is filled with very practical and realistic information if you are ready to take the next step in life and change your diet and exercise. My husband has been doing DDPY on and off for a decade and he always feels better when he is doing it.
If you're interested in learning about a "yoga for everyone" and changing your diet, along with practical steps to motivate yourself, this book could help.

I’d heard of DDP and his yoga programme sometime back. I find his positivity infectious and enjoy it. Consequently this bled through into my liking of this book. Despite his methods & mindset being straight forward and very accessible, I’d say he’s not going to please everyone.... that’s why... I’d probably recommend finding out a little about him on YouTube prior to reading, be that searching DDPY or watching Diamond Dallas Page episode of Joe Rogan.

Arthur’s inspiration video, for me, is gut wrenchingly beautiful. A proper tearjerker. Such a brave and determined soul.

I was expecting more of a wrestling autobiography. Most of this book is about the DDP Yoga program he developed. His origin story in wrestling and his trials & tribulations building the DDPY business are pretty great. But, all the testimonials from the people who have had success on his program get a little old. It's more like a motivational infomercial. Not terrible. Some good stuff. Just not what I was looking for.

DDP yoga was the “backbone” to my recovery from multiple back surgeries, so I picked up this book from one of my favorite childhood wrestlers. Dallas has a fun story, but this book is really the introduction to his wellness program that can really help. I would recommend this book to someone interested in getting involved in DDPY or looking at alternative recovery/wellness programs.

I don’t read a lot of “self-help”. That being said, for anybody wanting to embrace the DDPY lifestyle and eat into better health, I strongly recommend this book over Paige’s prior book, Yoga For Regular Guys. I found the ideas on goal-writing and sports science-based yoga helpful. And Paige can stir the fires of motivation with his every-man approach. I found the section on dieting and food to be filled with a lot of Food Babe-esque pseudoscience. But if it works for some people, it works. And Paige definitely doesn’t dismiss conventionally scientific eating plans. The DDPY program ultimately is about making it your own, and this book provides ample advice on how to do so.

First off. I've been a DDP fan for 20+ years.
I love DDPY also.
The book was sold (at least to me) as a motivational manifesto.
It really isn't. Whereas I love all DDPs stories and anecdotes. The book fell a little short on making me feel positively unstoppable.
A little disappointed. But I do plan on reading it again, and hopefully
I will
feel.

Very Inspiring and Do-Able

Introduction:
I'm a big fan of Diamond Dallas Page's fitness program, DDPY. As part of that program I listened to the audiobook version of his book, Positively Unstoppable: The Art of Owning It. I was not dissapointed.

Summary:
In the book Page recounts pivotal moments from his personal life and career. He makes it clear that the biggest thing that helped him overcome adversity is a positive mindset. Not stopping at relaying his personal experience, he lays out a plan for the reader to incorporate his way of thinking into their own life.

Narration and Performance:
The introduction is read by Page, after which a narrator picks up the rest of the book. I have to admit the narrator's voice took some getting used to. I'm not sure if he was trying to impersonate Page (poorly) or if it is his natural speaking voice. Either way, it was jolting for the first chapter or so. I was able to get used to it fairly quickly and it didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book.

Character Development:
We learn a lot about DDP, his struggles, his triumphs and relationships. He is open about his struggle with dyslexia and reading, which adds to the feeling that he is bringing you completely into his world.

Storytelling and Pacing:
The book was engaging from start to finish. Well written, well paced.

Themes and Messages:
This book is definitely inspiring. It encourages you to step back and think about the way you react to things, to figure out what you really want, and how to adjust your mindset to get there.

Personal Enjoyment and Impact:
I loved the book and it is a perfect compliment to the DDPY program. I am more focused on my health and wellbeing than ever before and am seeing success in my health journey.

Conclusion:
I would recommend this book for anyone looking for more positivity in their day to day life.

Let me start by saying with full disclosure, I am a huge mark for Diamond Dallas Page. For those who aren’t wrestling fans, a ‘mark’ is someone who believes - and I unabashedly believe in DDP. A fan from the early AWA days through his tenure with WCW (sorry, WWE never caught on with me), I am even more of a devotee with what he is doing now to help people with DDPY.

I eagerly anticipated Positively Unstoppable: The Art of Owning It. When I received the one birthday present I asked for this year, I was thrilled. Dallas loves the element of surprise in real life as much as thrilling fans with a diamond cutter out of nowhere, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

The book is a hybrid. Part is autobiographical but not an autobiography. Dallas uses stories of his personal challenges and successes for emphasizing his frame work on how to ‘own it’ - whatever your version of ‘it’ may be. Many of the tales were familiar but I appreciated the emotional depth exposed in several instances.

The other part is promotion - introduction to DDPY (aka DDPYoga, formerly known as YRG). As a self described shameless self promoter, this shouldn’t have surprised me. If you aren’t familiar with Dallas and what he is doing with his approach to fitness for everyone, there is quite a thorough introduction. If you are part of the DDPY community, you may be disappointed as much of the material will look very familiar. But just remember, repetition is the mother of learning!

The book is smoothly written and easy to read. Don’t miss the forward by Mick Foley. It’s classic! But don’t rush through it. Take time to think about the points Dallas makes and become Positively Unstoppable! [4/5]

This is a pretty good motivational book in my opinion. DDP lays out a decent framework for helping you set and achieve your goals. He speaks directly and concisely. DDP is a powerfully positive presence and you really get the sense that he wants you to reach your peak health, even if he's words on a page. So why did I only give it three stars? Two reasons:

1- You'll probably get less out of it if you don't watch wrestling. The first half of the book talks about LOT about wrestling and his career, so if it's not something you're somewhat familiar with then I could see that affecting your enjoyment.

2- Aside from the inspirational stuff, most of the book's latter half is essentially a rehashing of the DDP Yoga program. If you've ever been a part of the program as I have, none of that stuff is going to be new to you. And yeah, sometimes I'd even go so far as to say it feels like an advertisement for the program. The book is filled with testimonials from people the program worked for, as well as outlining the basics of the program and running down the nutrition plan. Most of this stuff is going to be skippable if you've already used DDP Yoga.

So while I can't rate it higher than three stars in good conscience, I will say I still find it to be worth a read. If you've used DDP Yoga or you're familiar with the testimonials behind it, there's still inspirational stuff to help you achieve your goals. If you haven't used it, check the book out and see if it's something you might like.

This book is broken down into two phases. The first phase discusses Dallas and his life growing up as a child, moving onto his management of clubs, and eventually leading to his life as a pro-wrestler. Dallas had a tremendous career which culminated with a hall of fame induction in 2017. The book primarily focuses on the link between Dallas's life and his use of positive affirmations, goal setting, self belief, and how this all links to his eventual creation of DDPY.

Without going into too much detail the second phase then goes into the DDPY program and the diamond Dozen. The book closes out with nutrition advice which depending on your background may make you chuckle. Theres not a lot of science based fact in the nutrition section of this book. While I do appreciate the suggestions of choosing Whole Foods consisting of fibrous carbs and lean proteins a majority of the advice in the nutrition section is anecdotal. I am not a big fan of anyone that uses Foodbabe as a reference, and you will find that within the pages of this book. Overall, this book is 150 pages that talk about DDP's wrestling career. If you follow DDP because of his yoga program and you warren't a fan of him as a wrestler, then I wouldn't suggest this book for you. If you're a fan of DDP then the first 160 pages of this book are solid, and discusses the history of DDP's career and some of his greatest moments from his ascension in WCW.

"Own your life!"

That is the essential message Dallas Page puts forward in this book that can be used as an accompaniment to his brilliant DDP Yoga fitness program. He challenges the reader to stop making excuses for not doing things in life because they "can't do it" - instead, he suggests it gets changed to "can't do it...yet!" Put in the work, be consistent, and dreams can come true.

Aside from the motivational messages, clearly defined instructions and sense of humour, this book also takes us through some of Page's days as a wrestler - usually to make a point about the message of owning your life. Decisions he made in his career, events that shaped his health and how he recovered.

We also get an overview of healthy eating, with some menu suggestions for different levels of commitment to change. He recommends some documentaries to watch regarding processed foods as opposed to whole foods. Very eye-opening and certainly has got me to drop all chocolate from my diet, and now white sugar is on its way out as well.

While I am sure this book is primarily to be used as a "user manual" for DDP Yoga, it can be read independently and still be enjoyed - and lessons can be learned from Dallas' inspiring story, and those stories of success stories of the program.

Would I recommend this book? Absolutely. You don't have to be a wrestling fan, looking to do yoga or wanting to change your diet to enjoy this book. It could change your life...

I have been doing DDP Yoga/DDPY for nearly three years now and have been ecstatic to see how DDP's well being/auto-biographical book turned out. It is an interesting hybrid of the genres. The first quarter is motivational style to inspire you to get off the couch and make goals which I really dug. The next quarter is a biography on DDP's life growing up, owning bar business and then rising up the ranks of wrestling and finally wrapping up on the growing pains and eventual success of DDP Yoga. I read DDP's previous autobiography and heard other interviews before so I am familiar with his wrestling days, but got a lot of knew insight on trying to make his yoga business successfull.

The last third of the book is going over various DDPY stretches and poses along with an assortment of training plans and custom recipes by DDP. I would recommend going with the DDPY DVDs or the app for the live demonstration of the DDPY stretches, and DDP even states so in the book, but it is a nice primer to what to expect if you were on the fence on subscribing to the app. Having the recipes on hand though and training schedules is a big plus though. Top that off with DDP's inspirational voice that only he can pull off and it all combines for a good bio/help book hybrid!

Seriously, this book should be required reading for every human on the planet. This book is LIFE CHANGING. I bought it the first day it came out, and was stuck at work for several more hours, which was painful, because I just knew it was going to be great. And it is. DDP has taken a lifetime of learning and hard lessons and presented them in a way that brings them to everyone. It's astounding how he breaks down goal setting, taking action, owning it, and brings it to a whole new level that is so easy to understand that you can't help but be motivated!

If you are looking for a fresh start, or to get back on track, or even to stay on track, please, do yourself a huge favor and get a copy of this book! I was frustrated with not having enough time to sit and read it, so I actually bought the audible version as well, and listening to it in the car has had me smacking the steering wheel, nodding, and smiling more than the usual driver! This book is spot on, and I believe that if you practice even SOME of what DDP explains, you will have more success in life.

Bottom Line: Great book, go get it!!! AND READ IT!!!!! ---and OWN YOUR LIFE---

I’ve known about and had good success, when staying consistent, with the DDP YOGA program. DDP is always a positive personality and a huge promoter of setting and achieving goals. I’ve never been good at goal setting so I grabbed this book looking for some advice from someone who has gotten great success in doing so, and who is always helping others to achieve their goals.

To that end the first few chapters were good I was feeling empowered and ready to start setting goals but after that the boom kind of fell flat for me. It became a lot about his personal journey and less about ways to apply that to your own story. I enjoyed reading about his journey and seeing how it loosely related to setting goals and achieving them but I was looking for more than reading his biography. Then the last few chapters go into some detail about the DDPY program and the food plan which like I said I was familiar with both it was decent to re read the food strategy however. But like I said it just fell flat after the first few chapters. There is good insight throughout and I took away some good quotes and some advice on moving forward and setting goals.

Positively Unstoppable is a great read for anyone looking to find themselves in another’s journey and discover inspiration to keep moving forward toward their own dream.

As Dallas covers the setbacks, heartaches, obstacles, experiments, and support supplied along his journey, I found myself able to relate and to examine my own life differently. In this real life tale of transformation, DDP shares tips, techniques, and strategies that worked for him to maximize health and success. The heart of it all is the straight forward (right between the eyes), loving, and hard earned wisdom that he passes on to us. He doesn’t just tell. He challenges. He asks the hard questions. And he puts the responsibility for our lives on us. If you’re ready to own your own life and want to know how to do that, see what Dallas did. Walk in his shoes as you read these pages then, (paraphrasing)

“Ink it. Move forward, not backward. Put in the work. Own it. Live life at the 90%.”

This book will not only help you develop the mindset to be positively unstoppable, it will also show you how to create the supportive environment you need to choose every day. (And that includes recipes and workouts.)

Positively Life Changing!

I have been doing the DDPYoga programme (now known as DDPY) for a little over two years! I CANNOT GET ENOUGH of it! It has changed my life for the better. Bye bye chronic and debilitating back pain!

It is so much more than a fitness or weight management programe. It is a life coaching programme. It has helped me not only with my physical health but also with my mental health.
It is single handedly what got me through the full Government enforced lockdown because of COVID-19! It is what kept me sane throughout.

There are workout programmes for all genders, shapes, sizes, ages and mobility situations! From the Rebuild Series (that help people with limited mobility with Bed workouts, progressing to Chair workouts, progressing to Standing workouts with modification) all the way to EXTREME PSYCHO workouts!

The DDPYOGA facebook community is the most supportive and helpful community i have come across. The admins work really hard to keep the posts on point and to highlight the support and the help from all to all of its members. The instructors are all soooo approachable and real! It doesn’t feel like your typical celebrity fitness programme. Dallas himself takes time out from his day to ring members and see how they’re doing. You will get out just as much or more than what you put into it.

I cant get enough of listening to Diamond Dallas Page’s stories and teachings. And this book has offered me so much more than i expected. I thought i’d heard it all, but there is so much more in Dallas to give. And this book gives in spades!

If you haven’t got the DVDs or are not a DDPYOGA app subscriber, this book sets you up to give the programme a try. It has Dallas’ personals tories and also success stories of those that have gone through and succeeded in the programme. It also talks about the programme and how it works, both exercises and meal plans (and even recipes!!) and even goes into the SMACKDOWN goal setting tool.

It is entertaining, inspiring and motivational all in one.

I cant recommend this book or the programme enough!

Go on! Give it a try! Be #PositivelyUnstoppable!

Good

I’m a big fan of DDP. This book was good. Written as part motivation and part promotion for DDPY. Half of the sections were taken from his hall of fame speech. There are fun anecdotes throughout and the book does motivate you! About half way through the book it turns from inspirational to promotional. Listen, I get it, he’s pushing his program and I actually am going to start it after I’m done with my current one. But some things he says have me extremely skeptical. His stance on GMO’s are straight up wrong and not backed by science at all, his views come from documentaries on Amazon. He repeatedly states “well I’m not a doctor but...” well maybe don’t say that if you’re not a doctor, and someone who is influencing many people. Although his logic seems to come from a good place, it is harmful in my opinion. Rather than getting into ideologies, pick up the book yourself and see what you think. It’s very well written and enjoyable throughout.

I really liked the book until just after the part where DDP talks about Shark Tank. After that it felt pretty infomercial-y. I really liked the tone of the book and I loved his stories about how he set his goals and how he demolished them----I liked hearing how he got into wrestling and how DDPY evolved into what it is today. I told my friends about DDPY and 3 of us signed up with his app the day after I finished the book and one of them started reading this book too. It is very inspiring but I could have done without the hard pitch. Also, I GET IT ABOUT THE HEART RATE MONITOR ALREADY!!!

<3 you, DDP! Thanks for inspiring and helping so many people!

Also, I did YRG before it turned into DDPYoga....so I've known about DDP and what he does for a long time before starting this book.....though I did not follow him during his wrestling days. What a journey he's been on!
