What happens when you’re responsible for someone else’s future? Or when you end up falling for them?
Tessa Graham has loved Malus for years. They were once a wildly popular band, topping the charts and leaving broken hearts in their wake. But for the past five years, they’ve been playing the same old hits, incapable of creating anything new.
As an assistant working for the band’s record label, Tessa is given the opportunity of a lifetime. Her boss informs her that she must help the band write and record a new album—and she only has seven months to do it. If she succeeds, she’s in line for a huge promotion. If she fails, she’s fired. And so is the band.
What starts out as a desire to keep her job, and perhaps learn a little about the four mysterious musicians she’s always admired, quickly turns into more than anyone could have ever expected. As Tessa spends time with each man, she quickly learns that outward appearances aren’t always what they seem.
Tessa may hold the band’s future in her hands…but there might be more at risk than her job.
If she isn’t careful, she could also lose her heart.
This is a 56K word standalone reverse harem romance. Bonus content is also included for a limited time.
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
So, this was my first reverse harem. I’ve never been a fan of sharing the heroine, menages are just not my thing. However, this author has made me fall in love with other tropes and storylines that I would have avoided. When Encore popped up, I hesitated…for a long while. Because, yeah, there’s lots of sharing in a reverse harem story. I didn’t have to be a genius to figure that out. But I did trust this author. And so, I began.
We have Tess who is assigned to get the rock band Malus back on track and with all new songs within the next seven months. Easy, right? Until she meets them all and realizes they are a dysfunctional group of musicians. Each one of them is struggling with their own issues regarding their fame, their bandmates, and their lack of motivation.
As Tess gradually begins to get the guys to open up one by one with plenty of hanky-panky to help along the way, each member gradually begins to evolve into what they were always meant to be. At the core of the group is Tess. Her constant positivity is a drug for these guys and her refusal to let them fail keeps them moving forward. I really liked pretty much everything about her.
Ben, Clarke, Ford and Davis are the heroes of the story and I have to admit that I liked Davis best. Big burly men just do it for me and he was so intense. Totally swoon worthy even if he didn’t know how to cuddle. There was a bit of confusion on my part as Tess waivered with her “friends with benefits” standing. I felt that was all a bit wishy washy. Nevertheless, these guys were surprisingly agreeable to sharing Tess among themselves and together with just a short conflict regarding the situation.
While this was another well written, fast paced read with lots of likable characters and the steamy goodness (scorching actually) of all of Ms. Hart’s work, I never could get past the sharing. But at least I can say I tried. Check this off my list please.
So yes, this will be the perfect summer scorcher if you love reverse harems because truthfully, I believe you will love all of these guys as well as the heroine as I did.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

2.5 stars. I read this because I had read Lane Harts other reverse harem and really enjoyed it so this was a bit of a let down by this. I just found it to be a lot more disjointed than the other book by this author and I didn't feel like I really got what I was looking for in a reverse harem romance.
I was excited for this because a rock star romance with reverse harem seemed like it would be super fun. This book is about Tessa who is helping to manage the band made up of Ford, Clarke, Ben, and Davis. There were parts of this relationship I really liked but Tessa's relationships with all the guys felt very separate and I didn't feel like they each got equal time. I liked Davis and it seemed like he had an interesting backstory but we barely got to see any of him because for most of the book he's living somewhere else and we only see him when he has sex with Tessa. I would have liked to have learned a little more about the characters backgrounds. We see a little from everyone but it is really just a trickle and I wanted to learn more.
Ostensibly the plot is about Tessa helping this band write new songs but that's barely present in this story. I would have enjoyed seeing more musicianship throughout the book rather than just at the very end. I also wish we had learned more about Tessa's job, especially since she says she loves it. When we did get song lyrics they weren't... great. the last song has the line "You’re my addiction. You’re a dick…you’re an addiction." which is really a laughable bad song lyric. I don't really like reading song lyrics in books and it's usually because they're silly, just like they were in this book. Overall, I just wanted a little more out of this. I did like the sex scenes (and there were a lot of them) but it just never felt like the plot was moving forward.
I definitely preferred the other book I had read by this author but I'm not opposed to reading more from her in the future. This one was a miss for me but there were still things I really liked about her writing and characters.
This is an interesting variation on the rock band menage story - which I like.
Instead of being a road trip, this takes place while the band is between tours and albums, recovering from too many months on the bus. Our heroine needs to get the guys back in songwriting shape. Of course, each guy needs a different type of inspiration. The sex scenes allow each guy to keep his personality while bringing their girl lots of joy.
While she does go from reserved to wanton pretty quickly, there is enough backstory to justify it.
Oh and a big hit on a pet peeve in the epilogue. So many other choices...
This is my first by this author, but I'll read more if they are like this one.
Encore. Lane Hart has given me my first taste of the reverse harem genre! Tessa is a smart business woman that is working hard at a record label . She is given the ultimate assignment and begins working with a band she truly admired in their hay day. They have now hit onto some creative hard times and she is sent in to help them with their dry spell. She soon realizes each man behind the band is so much more and it turns into a steamy, angst flled romance with them . Great read ! ~~Michele McMullen ~~
Really enjoyed this, not many good Reverse Harems out there, but this keeps me hoping. Heat Level: 3 1/2 or 4 (teeter tottering) It’s a Fast Paced HEA’s, but wasnt written in a rush. A BIG and very grateful difference.
There are author's that have the ability to make me stop what I'm doing to start reading their books... I'm serious. This lady has that effect on me and it has been a pleasure to have her in my life for the past two years. I'm just asking for more years to come. Years of fantastic books and so much more. Lane Hart is the person I'm talking about. Her books have me so hooked that once I start reading one I can't stop... I can't... Her writing is hot and wild, sassy, intense and pretty detailed. Just have a look and see for yourself. Encore is her latest release and Jesus... Have a look at the cover... See it.. Four yummy guys... One lady... Equals... This book tells the stories of Tessa and the hunk guys from Malus. Tessa works in a Record Label, a job that she likes but when she's given the opportunity to be promoted she doesn't think twice about the task in hands but... And now meet the band Malus. Ford the lead singer, Clarke the drummer, Bennett the bass player and David the guitarist. They are struggling to keep up and Tess needs to figure out how to get them back on track... Jesus... Hot doesn't even cover this book. Dayum... Get ready... Just saying. The plot is amazing, super engaging and hot with so much meaning and feelings behind each chapter. These guys have serious issues and the way the face them... The interaction between the characters is raw and wild and will leave you breathless. Each scene, let me rephrase this, each hot scene where so intense that it gave me some hot flashes... Dayum... I just needed a few cold showers to cool off... But behind all that, the story is amazing, and you need to grab this book and go for it. Just let go... Lane... My hubby has a few words to tell you... Lol. This book is amazing and I want more. Please... I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I obviously am an avid avid fan of Ms. Hart's work. but I am truly astounded each and every time i snatch one of her books up to read it! I honestly don't think that there is anything out there that she cannot write about! It is no secret to anyone that knows me, reading is my passion! it's also not a secret to friends, family and fellow bookies, that Lane's Cocky Cage Fighter Series is one of my favorite of all series! Love me some hot a$$, dirty talking bad boy fighters. But Lane has written it all, and all that I have read has been 5 star reads! I love her style. Her writing flows onto the page and sucks you right in! And boy, Encore certainly sucks you in and some of the scenes get your kindle so hot, you almost burn your fingers! You keep bringing it girl, and us readers will keep reading it!
The book was hot, which is always awesome. But things resolved pretty quickly considering all the major problems the band had (alcoholism, nicotine addiction, anxiety, anger issues). So for that, I had to deduct a star given it wasn't at all realistic. I liked each of the characters individually, which is surprising, given all the different personalities. Somehow they all worked well and continued with their relationship after they wrote the album. I read the book in one night, so it's a quick and easy sexy read.
I felt like this book should’ve been a little longer. I liked some of the guys, basically Clarke and Davis. Ford was kind of an asshole when we first meet him and Bennett is just ordinary. There wasn’t much of a connection which is fine, but that part makes everything ten times better. The last sex scene with all five was almost there... but it was so short. I need more details! Come onnnnn... 3.5⭐️
As a huge fan of rockstar romances I really loved this plot. The characters were well developed, the plot was great and mostly about the development of the relationships. Great distraction!
Encore by Lane Hart a five-star read that deserves it’s own repeat encore. I love this author so hard, but this was amazing, Tessa Graham, what a woman and not because of what she gets up to, but from who she is. Someone who you would love to have in your life!! This was such a quick and steamy read, I read it in one sitting, ignoring everyone including my angry husband who had been phoning several times and getting nothing!! It was that good, once you start this book you will not be able to put it down. Lane Hart I need Manus to be a real band I can stalk!!!
Oh for the love of all that it HOTT!!! I am quite used to Lane Hart writing books that are H.A.F. but this one was on a whole new level!
Tessa works for a record label. She is told that she needs to go get this band of 4 men under control to get them to start producing music again. She definitely had her work cut out for her. All 4 men are so different. The way that she gets together with each of them has its own fascinating story behind them! I love that this woman did not care too much about what others may think of her, she was only concerned with that these 4 men thought of her and how they saw her. I loved this book! The Reverse Harem is pretty new to me, but with writing like this I am thinking that I will be totally into it! Loved the hotness. Loved the LOVE. Loved they conflicted feelings! Loved it all!!!!
Encore: A Reverse Harem Romance By: Lane Hart So Different From What I Expected... Turned Into A Stellar Read! Wow! Lane's written an absolutely amazing story, & I usually dislike the Rocker genre of books! What makes this different is the story & the characters themselves have depth. I also like how this Menage came about because it's not atypical... but I'm not giving any SPOILERS... LOL! Just know that it's AWESOME, & I highly recommend it! If you're looking for something that breaks the mould & provides & great story, while also giving you some seriously Smokin' HOT Se*y Times between the characters in groups of 2's, 3's, 4's, & More... Then look no further than Lane Hart's "Encore: A Reverse Harem Romance," because it'll check ALL your boxes! Lastly, I don't give out 5 STAR Ratings often; it's a rarity I save for truly exceptional books I read, & this one hits that benchmark!! Well Done Lane Hart :) I already owned Lane Hart's "Encore: A Reverse Harem Romance," but I'm reviewing it now for Booksprout. I'm gladly recommending it based upon its own merits. I enjoyed this book, & I always look forward to more opportunities to read Lane's work... She's on my TBR list of authors to follow! All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given. Until next time... Happy Reading!
Now, I’ll begin by saying that “short” reverse harem stories with bonus content are usually not my cup of tea; solely due to the fact that they often lack character development, plot, and/ or both. Which is why “Encore” was like a true surprise gem that got unwrapped by moi :) The story begins with Tessa getting an “ultimatum” from the record company she works for; shape up the band Malus, and get them writing a new, successful album...otherwise, she, and the band she has always loved are finito, kaput! Tessa meets the band and quickly comes to realize that this band she has idolized forever—they are quickly disintegrating—and have no chemistry anymore due to a myriad of personal issues (from each member!). Tessa, a true trooper, fan and go-getter tackles each member separately, asking each member “what they need” to get back on track. Each member wants/needs something, and during the course of the story you learn and read about how Tessa “delivers” on her promise to do whatever it takes to make the band successful again...play NEW ORIGINAL music again and help them overcome their “demons”. And this is really where the story becomes more than a “raunchy” I slept with the band book, (and yes there are plenty of steamy steamy scenes, this is a “Rock Star” book as well, remember) and more of a “selfless girl” who genuinely starts to fall for the 4 amazingly different, unique and talented guys that make up Malus. And where the story separates itself even further from a “fluffy” sexy “diversional” “rock star/band” book out there, is that the guys who ALL HAVE VERY VERY DIFFERENT PERSONALITIES and characteristics come to equally respect and LOVE (yes LOVE). This is a thoroughly enjoyable, and surpringly sexy AND sweet film.
This story really drew me in from the first chapter and kept me engaged til the end! With some underlying themes of addiction and recovery, Encore was and intense read that surpassed my expectations.
Tessa grew up with a musician father, sneaking into bars to watch his band play and dreaming of being a singer. But after his death, she goes to college, listening to her mom instead of her dreams. Now she works for a record company, who offers her a promotion- if she can get a band who hasn't produced new music in years to create a new album by the end of the year.
Malus is a band with problems. The lead singer hasn't felt inspired in years, instead he works his way through the groupies at every venue. Another member hasn't made it a day without drinking in who knows how long. The third member has anxiety problems. And the last is a giant of a man with some attitude problems and a habit of intimidating everyone. But with Tessa's help, the guys are able to take a break, return to their roots, and really come together as a band and a group of friends again.
At first glance, Encore is just a rockstar reverse harem story with typical bada*s guys and the sweet and helpful girl who makes them see the error of their ways. But in actuality, this story is so much more. It deals with alcohol addiction and recovery, crumbling friendships, and important lifestyle decisions. Plus there's some intense romance and steam in this book! Tessa and the guys are amazing characters, each with their own pasts giving them depth that really brought them to life in my eyes.
I can't wait to read more by Lane Hart in the future!
This was a good reverse harem romance between Tess and the men from Malus. Tess worked at a record label and was assigned the job of getting the guys from Malus writing new material and in the studio to record new music, or they would be released from their record deal and she would lose her job. Tess met the guys after a concert and found them in a bad way, they were barely talking to each other and needed a break. Tess cancelled the rest of their tour and went back to Virginia with them. Ford is the lead singer and song writer who has been suffering from writer's block. He is also a playboy and when Tess refuses his advances, it makes him take a look at himself and he starts to write again. Clarke writes the music and suffers from anxiety. When he is around Tess, he is calm and relaxed. They have a connection and Tess tries to help him with relaxing through massages at spas and yoga. Ben is an alcoholic and when Tess offers to stay with him to keep him from drinking, he agrees and she helps him through detoxing. Davis is the angry giant of the group and Tess has a connection with him from the start. He wants to be alone for a while so Tess gets him a cabin in the woods. They have immediate chemistry but Davis doesn't know how to handle his feelings. The four men each have qualities that draw Tess in and she has feelings for them all. I loved this book, I laughed and thought each man was swoon worthy in their own way. I loved how they all loved Tess and thought she was the most important person in their group. Another great one from Lane.
Encore A Reverse Harem Romance By: Lane Hart Narrated by: Mace Earl Finn
This is one hot rockstar romance, well actually there are 4 hot rockstars! I enjoyed this story, it is well written and well told! The characters are nice developed and the chemistry between Tessa and the bandmates was smoking. Tessa, a record label employee has been given the job to get one of the label rock bands, Malus, back on track. They have not had any new material in years and the fans are losing interest. It is up to Tessa to make this happen but a lot more then that happens. She starts off helping each bandmate with their issues, Ford’s smoking habit, Ben’s alcohol addiction, Clarke’s anxiety and Davis’s need to be by himself. Tessa’s catering to their needs leads to much more, all except Ford, the man whore of the band, but her refusing him drives him to write, so in a sense she is his muse. Tessa does her job well and the band once again comes together as a unit, especially in the bedroom. This is an enjoyable and fast paced story with lots of drama, angst and hot romance.
I listened to the Audible edition, Mace Earl Finn does a nice job narrating and telling the story. He brings the characters to life, giving them heart and attitude. This story definitely would have have benefited if a female played Tessa.

Tessa is working for the record label of her favorite band ever, plus she landed her dream job. She will be working with the band, Malus, up close and personal so they can produce a new album. But there is a catch, if the band doesn't produce a new album within a year the label will drop the band and Tessa will be out of a job. Will Tessa be able to get the band back where they need to be?
Malus, the band made up of four best friends, Ben, Clarke, Davis, and Ford is in big trouble and not with just label but with themselves too. The group has grown apart and nobody knows when or how it happened only that it did. Each member is messed up and has no desire to fix themselves. That is until Tessa walks into their life. Now they all have found a reason to clean up their act. But the problem is they all want her. Will all five come to an agreement that will be beneficially for all of them in the long run?
This is my first time reading this author and I simply loved this book. The flow of the story was on point. You will fall in love with the characters. I can wait to pick up another book by Lane. I highly recommend this book to others.
Good strong characters, nice story line. by Anonymous
I don't normally read HR stories because they are obviously unrealistic but I really enjoyed reading this. I was hooked with the first chapter. Good strong characters, nice story line and the characters are well defined and described.
Tessa Graham works for Black Hawk Records the record label for the band Malus. She has to help them produce a new album since it has been 5 years since their last album. She flies to Las Vegas to meet the members of the band: Ford (lead singer) Clarke (drummer), Bennet (bass player) and Davis (guitarist).
The band members started our a great friends but they have been at odds with each other recently. The men were at first competitive individuals. It took more time for them to realize that they were better together.
Multiple POV was great in letting us know what they are all thinking and feeling. I was honestly rooting for Clarke. LOL! All in all this is a good book, pretty happy with the ending.

Omg omg omg. I'm gonna get real here for a second, I've never read reverse harem before or matter of fact the normal harem, so i didn't know what to expect but god damn my mind got blown. I sat down expecting to read a few pages or chapters and come away with a finished book. Tessa and the guys are hot as s**t. To me this was a easy, hot and steamy read that really doesn't let you go until you're panting for breath.
The guys, i wish i could tell you my favourite but then i think of what one of them has done then switch to him and so on and so on. I love them all for different reasons.
Davis is alpha, big and bulky and like a huge gentle giant.
Ben is a softy, has his problems but also pretty funny.
Clarke is so bloody sweet, he seems the most level headed one of the bunch.
And last but surely not least. Ford, he's probably the one with the biggest head but he's also the face of the band.
I really really loved this book and it sure as hell surprised me in a good way. Absolutely loved it!!
I want to begin my review by saying that I am a Lane Hart fan. I like her writing style and have read practically everything that she has written. Like any reader, some books I connect with more than others. That's the case for me with Encore. The story is written in Lane's signature style that's full of heat, angst and some fun moments but it's a reverse harem and frankly I have problems with that genre. We have Tessa, a smart, hardworking record company employee and we have four band members that used to be on top but the drugs, alcohol, fame and internal fighting is destroying the band. Tessa has been assigned by her bosses to go on the road with the band and straighten them out to get another album out of them before the label cuts them loose and their career as they know it is destroyed. The band members are a mess and Tessa not only helps each man, she starts falling and getting involved with them one by one. Encore is told from multiple POV and if reverse harem is your thing, then you will enjoy it even though it wasn't the book for me.
Tessa was a serious go getter in every sense of the word. In her career and apparently also with her personal needs. She gets the chance of a lifetime to go help her all time favorite band get their act together and start producing music again, Malus. And it isn’t easy. Ben has a serious alcohol problem, Ford smokes and could ruin his voice, Davis has some anger issues, and Clarke has serious anxiety.
Tessa seems to be the cure all for the group. She convinces Ford to stop smoking and she stays with Ben to help go get sober. She seems to be the only one who can tame Davis and the monster he has. And she is able to keep Clarke clear minded and not so worried. Its not her fault she ends falling for each guy, Ford last because that is just the greatest thing to witness, and becoming the reason their reason.
I was surprised to find that Davis became like the controlling factor in their relationship since he was the least likely one to share and was the first one to have her. And he way she announces a huge surprise at the end is awesome.
I must say I was looking forward to read this book for a while now. And I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed the four male characters and how they stood out from one another. Sometimes reverse harem books depicts the same type of romantic interests. This time it felt different for me. The only thing I didn't really love in this book was that there were no transitions between major plot points. For example, Tessa from the start was very positive she wouldn't touch any of the boys. However, once she would finally sleep with one of them for the first time, it felt like a very rushed decision that didn't seem much convincing to me. All of a sudden she was fooling around with one of them, while explaining to the reader she shouldn't be doing it, but didn't know how it happened. This occurred towards the end as well, when she accepted a certain proposition from the boys. To sum it all up, I felt some parts could've been less rushed out. Other than that, it was a very pleasurable experience to read Encore.
OMG, what did I just read?!? As a big fan of Lane Hart's work, I was pretty excited about having the opportunity to read an ARC of her new book, Encore, but nothing prepared me for THIS!
Tessa is a lower level record company executive, tasked with pulling a formerly hot band, Males, out of their doldrums. Having one super hot album, the four guys in the band are still hot as he'll, but they are basically phoning in their tour performances. Heavy drinking, soulless partaking of the groupies who still crave bragging rights, and worst of all, no new songs for years, they are on the verge of being cut.
Tessa has been a fan, but she wasn't truly prepared for what she finds. Her job depends on her whipping the guys into shape AND getting them to write a new album or they are all out on their asses. She certainly didn't expect to want all four: Ben, Davis, Clarke and last but not least, Ford.
Wow what did I just read from one of my favorite sports romance authors?!? Something new, something I wouldn't normally read, something SUPER STEAMY!!!!!! And I loved it! Another win from this talented author, loved it Lane Hart!
This isn't my first taboo read but I don't read many. This author is fantastic and reliable so I couldn't wait to give it a read. Tess, our lucky leading lady needs to help bring Malus back to the successful band they once were. Sadly, they're a freaking mess! Each and every one of those gorgeous guys has issues. Is Tess just the girl to help them "work out" their problems?!? I loved Tess, she's an awesome, strong female lead! Ben, Clarke, Ford and Davis were each great too, especially once they started getting themselves together. The guys are a bit broken but awesome and swoony! And shockingly agreeable to sharing the beautiful Tess. I love this authors worj and recommend it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is an amazing story by Lane Hart, this is the story of Tess and the band Malus. Tess works for the record company Black Hawk records her boss wants her to make sure that the band Malus has a hit by the end of the year or she is fired. The members of the band Ford Donahue - the frontman, Clarke Nash - the drummer, Bennett Hale - the bass player and Davis Hunt - the guitarist. 4 sexy band members who were at the top of the charts but now they are failing and they haven’t had a hit in years. This is an absolutely fantastic read and who wouldn’t want 4 sexy rock and rollers?, ✋🏼 my hand is up. Very well written with great characters and I’m so glad this this book is a full Reverse Harem story usually you have to get the next couple of books to continue the story and sometimes it gets a bit annoying but not this one this is a complete story yay! A 5 plus ++++ ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
