I needed a real-life perspective of the BDSM lifestyle for my Psy.D. dissertation.
Noah Dorian agreed to help me, but not in the way I expected.

I believed I would only observe and conduct interviews with members at his exclusive club, never once thinking I would become an active participant.
I'm strong, intelligent, and assertive, and by no means submissive.

The more exposure Mr. Dorian gives me to the lifestyle, the more intrigued I become, especially by him.

It's too bad my heart has to jump ahead of itself and fall for a man closed off from sharing his own.

Destiny is book one in the Hilltops Series. All three books in the trilogy can be read as standalones but are best read in sequence. All of Faith Starr's books have Happily Ever After endings!

'Destiny' by Faith Starr is the story of Noah Dorian and Jordin Turner.
I have read Ms. Starr other book in this series called "Purity' and enjoyed that one too.
Jordin is a psychology grad student and Intern who is doing research on the BDSM lifestyle. Jordin has been talking with Noah who is the co-owner of Hilltops which is a sex club. After several phone calls Noah set it up for Jordin to come into the club and watch a scene play out. Unfortunate or fortunately one of the participate wasn't able to show so Noah had to fill in. Both who were acknowleding to themselves that they were attracted to each other voice but to meet in person took their interest to another level.
Noah doesn't do close in relationships and only trust his 'brothers' / co-owners of the club. Noah has a woman working at the club that knows the score and he only has sex with her no kissing or relationship activities at all. But once he meets Jordin...that women who he has sex with doesn't excite him anymore. All Noah can think of is Jordin but can he actually do are relationship or something more with Jordin?
Jordin after having a boyfriend that seem to take away her self-confident has questioned her sexuality. So this project of researching the BDSM lifestyle has taken a personal turn for her.
Loved their story and hope to read more of Ms. Starr's books!

Title: Destiny
Author: Faith Starr

4 unexpected stars

To say i was surprised by this book would be an understatement. Faith Starr is a new author for me and when i saw that she was coming out with a BDSM genre novel, i know i had to get my hand on it to see what she'd be able to do with it since, from what i found out later, she usually writes self help novels. She did a good job at creating a new world where Noah and Jordin's lives collide when Jordin decides she wants to study the lifestyle with Noah's help. While Noah agrees to help her via the telephone, what he doesn't expect is the impact that she has on him when she shows up at his club to get her answers.

4 breath taking dreams

These characters were intriguing. I was curious to find out more about the psych student and the reasons on why BDSM fascinates her so much, and about the man who runs the club. I was captivated by the storyline and although it took me longer than i would have liked to finish the book (mostly because i was often distracted by outside things), i'm curious to find out what else happens in the second book in the series!

Lets start off by saying that I really enjoyed our first read by this author.I liked the characters as they were fun and interesting.Noah and Jordin were such opposites yet their relationship worked even though they had a few hiccups along the way.

I always pick a favorite character in a story in this time around its going to be Jordin although Noah follows closely.I found Jordin to be bright, charming, shy, intelligent ,insecure, but she also had fire and passion within her.

Jordin meets Noah as she has asked Noah who own a sex club to help her collect information on the bdsm lifestyle to write her dissertation for school in order to graduate to become a therapist. Jordin chose this subject because she wanted to understand more and gather more insight in order to consul abused women. I loved Jordin she was so out of her element, nervous, shy, intimidated and an innocent to boot but when it came to observing the scenes throughout the club in order to learn Noah is the one who caused all her flutters and uneasiness not the scenes themselves. Jordin's attraction to Noah and him to her was apparent from the start and their chemistry was hot as hell.I loved how she opened up and blossomed throughout the story creating many firsts and new experiences for herself doing this in baby steps she was growing more confident. Jordin surprised me the most though she had just the same hang ups as every other women does and those self insecurities but never really applied the logic to herself as she did her patients .Noah is the one who helped her overcome most of her insecurities and I loved that most about him

Noah definitely was a man of many layers. He had much more depth to him that I even thought was possible about him and I loved discovering more and more about him as the story progressed he really was a tender love and caring soul.I found Noah to be many things but loved that he was confident yet sensitive.Noah's attraction with Jordin has him tied up in knots from the onset.I loved how Jordin has him feeling things and experiencing a lot of firsts himself.Noah is such and experienced man in and out of the bedroom he has lived the lifestyle an has enjoyed it but it doesn't dominate his life .I loved this about him the most as Jordin is all about vanilla and yet he still peruses her with a passion.I loved his patience and kindness that he showed Jordin and those around him.I loved seeing this side of him as he definitely liked to be in charge and loved to dominate but never saw being tender or kind as a weakness.I fell in loved with him a little bit myself especially when he walked through the facility that his brother was staying at and he took the time to have a kind word with each and every patient he came in contact with along the way to see his brother. He put a smile on all those patients faces. He was definitely swoon worthy!

A really enjoyable story that was a learning experience for both characters who fell for one another and yet just what the other needs to make them whole.I enjoyed the chemistry these characters had as I really thought they made a cute an amazing couple together and I was glad that they found their way to one another even though their journey wasn't always a easy one.

I love when you can connect with the characters you read about and I was able to that in this story .I loved when that happens when you like your character so much from the onset that you know its going to be a good enjoyable story for you.

I looking forward to reading other stories by this author as she creates them.

Jordin Turner was a novice and obviously in more ways than one because why else would a clever woman, which she obviously is pick a subject she has absolutely no knowledge of to study and write her thesis on. I wasn’t sure I understood her subject choice and whether it was down to the fact that she was genuinely interested or whether she was more curious than that.
As a psychology student Jordin is up to her eyes in study and preparation for her thesis, and considering the fact that she has elected to tackle the subject of women and their place in BDSM I had a feeling she was going to learn a darn sight more than she probably thought possible. Taking the bull by the horns Jordin contacted the only person she knew that might be able to assist, Noah Dorian.
Noah was the co-owner of Hilltops, with his brothers and in her mind, he was bound to be the go to guy when it came to uncovering everything she needed to know about all things fantasy, after all from what she knew the club may have been very exclusive but that exclusivity came at a price and the patrons relished that fact. But would he hear her out or would he side line her request? And if he did give her an interview, was there anything more that could come from it?
Their initial meeting was one that would define their futures, it was so intense that it was almost electrifying, a simple interview opened the door to so much more for them both because as much as Jordin was like a moth to a flame where Noah was concerned and he wasn’t much better because there was something about her that had him thinking and planning things he never considered before. So, sure that he doesn’t want a relationship, it was a shock that he had to re-examine what he had previously thought because with Jordin he was ready for more …whatever that more might be.
I liked Noah’s dominance but that isn’t to say that I liked him all the time, he was more than a little testy and at times, I’m not sure that he was someone that I would have been able to deal with but Jordin was just right for him and watching the two of them evolve was a fantastic ride. The connection between them both emotionally and physically was absolutely on point it was everything that I thought it would be and then some.
Whilst describing this as a roller coaster may be a little too much I can admit that it was far from smooth, I laughed at this story and whilst I didn’t cry, it certainly was touching, chipping away at the whole BDSM scene this left me looking for more and with another book in the series already lined up on my kindle I am ready to dive right in.

Noah Dorian, co-owner of Hilltops, a very exclusive club that caters to sexual fantasies, is a work-a-holic. Not one for relationships, Noah uses female companionship in a friends with benefits type of way, never trusting to form a true connection. The only people he really trusts and lets into his world are his brothers and co-owners of Hilltops.

Jordin Turner, psychology grad student and intern, is working on her thesis which happens to be studying women who engage in the BDSM lifestyle. Needing some in person observations and interviews, she reaches out to Noah who agrees to meet with her, answer questions, and allow her to witness club activities for her studies.

Once they meet in person, the chemistry between Jordin and Noah explodes. Jordin is captivated by both Noah’s personality and dominance and finds herself accepting invitations to the club for more than just research. Noah’s world is also consumed by thoughts of the beautiful, string and intelligent, yet vulnerable Jordin. For the first time in his life, he finds himself wanting more from a woman than just sex.

Faith Starr’s “Destiny” is a slow burn of relationship journey. While the physical attraction is immediate, and the sex is scorching hot, their individual pasts keep both Noah and Jordin from diving right in to a relationship. I found Noah’s attempts at understanding his feelings for Jordin endearing. He truly struggled with accepting that she could be something more for him while never being able to truly give her up. I also adored the sassiness that is Jordin. She knows what she needs from a relationship, and while she is willing to compromise and wait for Noah to catch up to where she is emotionally, she won’t back down from the fight. And while she does know what she wants, she also struggles with some self-esteem issues due to an emotionally abusive relationship in her past. This is where Noah’s character truly shines by building her up.

The cast of characters in this book help to create a rich plot as we get to see in depth just who Noah and Jordin really are. Noah’s interactions with his family give a lot of insight into his behaviors. I also adore the relationship Jordin has with her best friend, Casey. The plot, winds slowly towards Noah and Jordin’s destiny . . . however, it does hit some intense snags along the way that kept me engrossed in the story. It’s a well written story that is so much more than a simple romance.

Noah Dorian is the co-owner of Hilltops which is an exclusive club that caters for sexual fantasies loves for his work. He is not interested in relationships and only uses females in a friends with benefits way and doesn't trust enough to form a connection to them. The only people Noah trusts is his brothers who are also the co-owners of Hilltops.
Jordin Turner is a psychology graduate student and intern that chooses to study women who engage in the BDSM lifestyle as a thesis. For her thesis she needs some personal observations and interviews so contacts Noah who then agrees to meet her, answer some of her questions and grants her access to the club to see the activities for herself.

When they meet in person the chemistry between them both explodes. Jordin is intrigued by Noah's personality and dominance and ends up finding herself accepting an invite to the club for more than research.
Noah's world thoughts are also consumed by Jordin and for the first time in his life he finds that he wants more from a woman than just sex.

Destiny is a slow burn relationship journey. Whilst the physical attractions are instant and the sex is on fire their individual pasts prevent them from going into a relationship. I found Noah's attempts at understanding his feelings for Jordin captivating. He really struggled that Jordin can be something more for him than just sex while never being able to really give her up. I also liked Jordan's cheeky personality, she knows what she wants from a relationship and whilst she is willing to compromise and wait for Noah to catch up with his feelings she won't back down without a fight and although she knows what she wants she also struggled with self-esteem issues because of an emotionally abusive relationship in the past. This is where I believe Noah's character really comes into his own by building her up.

The cast of characters in the book also helped to create a rich storyline as we are able to see in depth who both Noah and Jordin are. Noah's relationships with his family gives a lot of insight to his behaviour. I also live the relationship that Jordin has with her best friend, Casey. The story slowly winds towards Noah & Jordin's destiny but does hit some sometimes intense issues along the way which kept me captive until I had read the last page.

Jordin Turner is a psychology grad student who's working on her thesis. Her topic is the study of women who are involved in the BDSM lifestyle. She doesn't know much about it, so she needs someone to interview, and that's when she reaches out to Noah Dorian, the co-owner of Hilltops, a very exclusive club that caters to sexual fantasies. He has no use for relationships, so he hooks up when he needs to, as he trust no one but his brothers, and co-owners. For whatever reason, when Jordin and Noah meet, the insane connection threatens to consume everything near them in flames. Jordin finds herself intrigued by the world, and Noah, so she keeps coming back to the club when Noah invites her. And Noah can't get her out of his head, and starts to really want more from a woman than just sex. Destiny took me (notice I said ME which is to say it's my outlook and may not be anyone else's) a bit to really sink into, but once I did, I found myself devouring it. It was an intensely emotional read that had my girly drama up in arms. See the mouth watering Noah, had walls sky high, on top of being a Dom, which made him a drool worthy frustrating man that I wanted to punch more than once. And Jordin had a few of her own past issues, but I really enjoyed watching their evolvement as they opened up into different people. The sexy times were definitely a FIERY BALL of hotness that will disintegrate any and all panties in it's path. And I really enjoyed Faith Starr's talented writing style, and really look forward into watching how she evolves herself. Her well placed humor kept me laughing a lot, while the angst (yes I'm mentioning it again) levels squeezed my heart more than once. And even though I'm not quite into the whole BDSM lifestyle, and more times than not, I get mad while reading anything having to do with it, Ms. Starr wrote a beautiful story that has me a bit more intrigued. I cannot wait to read more by her, so I'll just end with HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Destiny!

Destiny would be my first read by Faith Starr and I found it really delightful with this being part of a BDSM like genre there is humor , lovable characters , and story line that is engaging . Noah and Jordin are a great couple the sex scenes are really steamy they had a intense attraction for one another once they had a taste they couldn't get the other off their minds . Jordin is one fine heroine she has been hurt in the past and with that came insecurities and self doubt but with some eye opening experiences due to the help of a sexy DOM Jordin becomes more confident in her own skin and the work she does .I had mixed feelings about Noah liked him but was frustrated with the way he reacts to certain things and it felt a little late for his feelings to be known clearer . Overall loved this it's a bit refreshing and I know I'll be reading more in the series and by this author .

I knew this book deserved those 5 stars when I was in the way home from a weekend away with the girls and the only thing on my mind was getting home and reading, not bothered about hubby lol.

This book is a must for all Fifty Shades fans. Don't get me wrong, this author absolutely stands her own with the storyline, but it's about a handsome, rich, successful, BDSM guy (Noah) and an inexperienced girl (Jordin). This is about her journey of discovery.

I loved these characters. I even found myself whizzing thru a couple of the HOT sex scenes as I just wanted to read more of their interactions outside the bedroom lol. The extended characters fit in really well and I loved reading the interactions, ribbing and banter between Noah and his brothers.

This was my first book by this author but certainly not my last.....bring on book 2!!!!

Reviewed on behalf of Amo's book corner.

This story centres around Noah Dorian a co owner of Hilltops which is an exclusive BDSM club which people pay in to live out their wildest sexual fantasies. Noah co owns the club with his two brothers who also have books in this series.

In walks Jordin who is a graduate psychology student and intern who studies women who like BDSM lifestyle as a thesis. For this she needs to see first hand what happens at a club like Hilltops so after a few phone conversations with Noah he invites her to the club to take a look at a scene and ask any questions she might have.

When they meet the chemistry is instant and boy when they have sex it's off to scales hot. It's nice to finally read a BDSM story that's true and real and kudos to the author she's done a cracking job now on to book two.

Destiny is a read that is a mix of emotions. It's intense, it's lighthearted and everything in between.

I really enjoyed watching as Jordin learned the way around a lifestyle that she was unfamiliar with. She evolved and blossomed throughout the story. Noah was a tougher nut to crack. He had walls up that were difficult to scale. The two played off of each other wonderfully.

This book intrigued me for more. I loved the pacing, the sexy times, the side characters. Destiny is not a quick read, but it's worth every minute spent reading. I would recommend to the reader looking for a romantic tale with a BDSM twist.

Jorden was working on her dissertation for her PhD in Phyco therapy. In order for her to complete her dissertation, she wanted to find out different sexual interest. Noah was a partner she contacted to research to complete her paper. Many sessions she saw was shocking to her because she only experienced a vanilla relationship. Noah wanted her to have a open mind and experience how wonderful how the body responds to different feelings. Noah struggled with their relationship because of his past. It took him to realize his feelings for Jordan when he almost lost her by being kidnapped. I hope the next book let us know more about the Investigation.

"No path is easy to follow. That's life. You just have to like what you're doing."

That one quote to me sums up this book. It is about following a path to destiny by fighting and doing what you love. In this case, Noah and Jordin struggle with not only the past but for what they desire and want in life and letting go of walls around their hearts.

This story has some laughs, sexy chemistry and a few surprises. Can't wait to read what's next in this series because this book gives us hints of situations I still need more information about.

Noah is the owner of an exclusive private club, and Jordin is a self-conscious graduate psychology student. There is instant steamy chemistry between these two.
This story is passionate with humour, sex, and lots of love. This author has written a beautiful story which flows seamlessly, with endearing characters, and I was intrigued and captivated from the very beginning. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

This was a first read of Faith Starr's work for me, and I did enjoy it. It's fun and lighthearted, the characters remained a little too two-dimensional for me, although they did seem to come into their own more towards the end of the book. I liked the intellectual approach to the BDSM world. Good read.

The characters were developed well and the subject was portrayed tastefully. However it seemed like a recycled cliche college girl meets a billionaire involved in the BDSM world, sounds familiar right? There was a twist to the cliche however it just wasn't enough of a twist to really hold and keep my attention.
Not a bad read just not one I'd find myself re-reading.

Began with promise but soon became lengthy with backstory and minutiae. Details are needed I agree, but I found this particular assembly of them not flow worthy or compelling to read.
Premise is interesting, execution a drudge to read.
Certain scenes are indeed very hot, some characters very appealing whilst others need a slap to the head.
Worth a peruse if interested in this genre.

Destiny by Faith Starr is book one in the Hilltops Series, which is a BDSM club.

This first book set the scene for the others to follow, with incredible characters, a wonderfully realistic world, that also had a storyline that was so fascinating you were forced to devour this book.

description

Destiny was a great 5 star read.

Jordin is studying the BDSM lifestyle for a school paper and has convinced Noah to help her. He has agreed to allow her to observe certain things in his club. Only problem is, when they meet sparks fly and they can’t stop thinking about each other.

Noah is not known for relationships, he has a hard time trusting anyone. Jordin also had a bad relationship that has given her low self esteem. These two had off the charts chemistry and as they grew closer and things started to happen you could see them both starting to heal.

“I’m Melting,” said the Wicked Witch of the East as well as Jordin Turner for experiencing the best kiss of her life.

Noah was great with Jordin and her inexperience. And boy did I ever love his dominant side with her as well. Not only does Jordin fall for this man but I felt myself also falling for him. Loved him so much with the kindness, etc. that he exudes. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. Of course their journey isn’t easy but we do get to see a HEA. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series. This is my first read from Faith Starr and I’m definitely going to be reading more from her.
