Rate this book
Summary The TOGAF 9 certification program is a knowledge-based certification program. It has two levels, leading to certification for TOGAF 9 Foundation and TOGAF 9 Certified, respectively. The purpose of certification to TOGAF 9 Certified is to provide validation that, in addition to the knowledge and comprehension of TOGAF 9 Foundation level, the Candidate is able to analyze and apply this knowledge. The learning objectives at this level therefore focus on application and analysis in addition to knowledge and comprehension. This Study Guide supports students in preparation for the TOGAF 9 Part 2 Examination, leading to TOGAF 9 Certified. This third edition contains minor updates to remove references to the TOGAF 8-9 Advanced Bridge Examination1 and also adds four bonus practice examination questions to Appendix B.It gives an overview of every learning objective for the TOGAF 9 Certified Syllabus beyond the Foundation level.

Very useful book. The questions at the end of each section are a good way to test what you’ve read. Well structured and well thought out. Some of the diagrams are hard to read on kindle.

For those of us that are in the Enterprise Architecture profession, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) is one of the most widely used tools that we use to build enterprise and solution architectures. While this book is primarily designed to be used as a study guide, it provides an excellent introductory overview to the basic concepts of TOGAF. Anyone that is interested in learning more about TOGAF (particularly executives who want to learn how to converse with us geeky Enterprise Architects) should pick up this book. It may not be as generic as some of you would be looking for in an introduction to TOGAF (hence the it only gets 4 stars from me due to limited applicability), but it also cuts out much of the unnecessary fluff you will find in other TOGAF books. Still, it allows you to get a good overview without reading all 700 pages of the TOGAF 9.1 specification. Good for general TOGAF training or as a path to certification.

Great introduction to TOGAF 9, a framework for Enterprise Architecture. After reading/studying this book you will not only be able to pass the certification level 1 exam, but you'll also understand the important concepts of TOGAF.

I also like that the sample questions were very similar to the real exam questions, both in format and in difficulty.

Good explanation of TOGAF content. Sometimes it's just things you already know categorized and explained in good maner. Usualy I felt like "Yes, I know this stuff. And after I read this, I not only know, I understand and can explain it."

Abysmal.

Dry, zero examples, stiff, non-descriptive, extreme mumbling.
Part of that may be due to TOGAF itself, but I've seen study guides for PMP, PMI-ACP, PRINCE2, ITIL - all of them were at least 5 times better & more achievable that this pile of crap.
Avoid at all cost.
