Back home from the Navy, Emily Grant is no longer the shy kid she was in high school. She’s built up her confidence and developed a love for hitting the beach, and now that she’s back, there’s only one thing on her mind—seeing her old best friend again, surf junkie Denise Ryan.
The two bffs hit the waves together, picking up life just like they’d never spent a day apart, but there’s a tension that pulls beneath the surface of their relationship—old desires the two women thought they’d buried in the past come roaring back like tidal waves. Emily and Denise can’t forget the events of a night they shared eight years ago, when two straight friends gave in to curiosity…
Will Emily and Denise be able to confront the riptide of attraction they share for each other before their relationship wipes out?
Ocean Waves is a sweet and steamy lesbian romance short story, perfect for quick consumption!
While the story itself is pretty good, the execution is lacking. There are many typos and grammar issues. In several spots there are male pronouns used for one of the two leading ladies, usually in the same sentence with a female pronoun. But the biggest issue in my opinion is that the character of Emily seems to vacillate between being certain about her orientation and questioning her orientation. This kind of inconsistency tends to make a story harder for me to enjoy.
This is such a disconnect...so many issues here. This feels more like a male version that attempted to convert the story to a f/f version, but forgot to change the pronouns, and other terms such as "dude". This is obviously not a Lesbian romance novel, perhaps it was originally a m/m, but it is definitely not Lesbian fiction. I was highly offended by the attempt to convert it to f/f. I would not recommend it, and definitely will not read anything else by this author.
A great short read about discovery of ones self and second chances. I would’ve liked to know a little about their lives while they were apart, but the story was good nonetheless.
