The Omnian expeditionary fleet sails for the faraway place they call “the wall.” The worlds of humankind have consolidated their resources to create a powerful armada to confront the alien federation.

During the Omnians’ previous encounter with an alien fleet at the wall, the Nua’ll comm sphere spoke to them in multiple languages. When the messages were deciphered by SADEs, the humans’ digital friends, the Omnians realized two things. One, they would face a vast empire composed of hundreds of races, and, two, the Nua’ll were not the leaders of the federacy. They had spoken of masters.

Multiple challenges faced Alex Racine, the Omnian leader, to cobble together the fleet he required. The Confederation, which was composed of many colonies, could produce ships, but most of its people lacked the will to fight. Haraken and New Terra were worlds with limited material production capability. But they produced individuals who were anxious to deliver a blow against the federation.

A debate raged over whether humans should flee, wait, or fight the onslaught of giant spheres, which ravaged humankinds’ worlds, and the probes that spied on them. It was Alex Racine’s choice to confront the alien race. Anything less was only delaying the inevitable.

The Omnians knew nothing about what they would find beyond the wall, where the federation’s enormous empire lay. Alex knew he couldn’t defeat the federacy in a long series of protracted engagements. His plan was to attempt to conquer and divide. He just needed to find the right sentient race for his idea to work.

From my early years to the present, books have been a refuge. They’ve fueled my imagination. I’ve traveled to faraway places and met aliens with Asimov, Heinlein, Clarke, Herbert, and Le Guin. I’ve explored historical events with Michener and Clavell, and I played spy with Ludlum and Fleming.

There’s no doubt that the early sci-fi masters influenced the writing of my first two series, The Silver Ships and Pyreans. I crafted my stories to give readers intimate views of my characters, who wrestle with the challenges of living in space and inhabiting alien worlds.

Life is rarely easy for these characters, who encounter aliens and calamities, but they persist and flourish. I revel in examining humankind’s will to survive. Not everyone plays fair or exhibits concern for other beings, but that’s another aspect of humans and aliens that I investigate.

My stories offer hope for humans today about what they might accomplish tomorrow far from our home world. Throughout my books, humans exhibit a will to persevere, without detriment to the vast majority of others.

Readers have been generous with their comments, which they’ve left on Amazon and Goodreads for others to review. I truly enjoy what I do, and I’m pleased to read how my stories have positively affected many readers’ lives.

If you’ve read my books, please consider posting a review on Amazon and Goodreads for every book, even a short one. Reviews attract other readers and are a great help to indie authors, such as me.

The Silver Ships novels have reached Amazon’s coveted #1 and #2 Best-Selling Sci-Fi book, multiple times, in the science fiction categories of first contact, space opera, and alien invasion.

The plot is a throw back to the earlier more Mil-Sci Fi space operatic setting and we get some cool battle scenes, great alien visualizations and an all round action packed novel.

Alex Racine and his cohorts are finally taking the fight to the alien Nua'll, the Digital Sentient who has enslaved countless interstellar capable species throughout this sector of our Galaxy enforcing a tyrannical rule for countless millennia before the advent of modern Homo Sapiens, decimating countless human colonies, in this installment of the Silver Ships series.

The writing is as usual, very good, and some long awaited answers come the readers' way. Hence, this is not to be enjoyed as a standalone.
I highly recommend the whole series!

I have enjoyed reading the Silver Ship Series. Here we are at book number eleven and, if anything, it is more exciting and gripping than book ten. If that is even possible.

What I like most about the series is the SADEs. They are artificial intelligent computers that have taken on a human form. Alex Racine and entourage are facing a big battle and all is on the line. The book is well written and is action packed. I feel as if all the characters are my friends now and I am fighting along side them. I enjoy the humor Jucha scatters throughout the story. I found this book most difficult to put down. Looking forward to book twelve.

I read this as an audiobook downloaded from Audible. The book is fourteen hours thirty-five minutes. Grover Gardner does an excellent job narrating the series. Gardner is one of my favorite narrators. Audiofile Magazine called Gardner one of the “Best Voices of the Century”. Publisher Weekly named him Audiobook Narrator of the Year in 2005. Gardner has won three of the prestigious Audie Awards as well as many Earphone Awards. Gardner is an actor. He has built his own recording studio in Maryland and is a full-time narrator.

Things are really getting interesting in this fantastic universe created by Mr. Jucha. The Omnians, Harakens. Meridians, Earthers and SADEs and just about everyone else in Alex Racine’s universe are set to go after the Nua’ll. They are tired of the Nua’ll spying on their individual civilizations and downright destroying any civilization that has found space travel. So, Alex and his permanent collection of friends are collecting anyone and everyone that wants to go on this expedition knowing that they might not ever come back!

Alex doesn’t harbor the feeling that his expedition can actually destroy the Nua’ll. In fact, he believes the Nua’ll are actually being controlled by another powerful being or beings and that's who he wants to seek out. He will talk to them if provided the opportunity, otherwise, he and his expedition could be fighting a losing battle which will ultimately result in the extinction of all humanity or anyone or thing not controlled by whomever is controlling the Nua’ll.

The story has about three parts that are written very well. There’s the initial preparations with Alex directing almost everything and some how seeing into the future as to what they might need on this long and arduous journey. The Omnians have even converted one of their city-ships into a fighting ship which will carry star fighters and be armed with it’s own weapons. Of course, the Freedom commanded by Admiral Cordelia is a huge ship and will accommodate just about anything they need to bring with them except for stuff from other civilizations that are soon to be delivered.

Eventually, every thing is ready for the expedition and they set sail for "the wall”. This is where they previously encountered a Nua’ll presence and fought a minor battle which resulted in on New Terran ship being destroyed due to it’s incompetent Admiral. Alex believes his expedition will have to fight a very major battle, but he also knows how the Nua’ll or whoever is controlling them, will fight and he has a plan.

Once that battle is over, Alex also plans to seek out one of the civilizations currently under the control of “Artifice” who is now known as the digital entity that somehow controls a vast number of civilizations. He or it is behind the actions of the Nua’ll. Artifice is the thing that Alex knows he has to reach in order to save all of these other enslaved civilizations and humanity. But, his plans on finding that one single civilization that might be willing to break away from Artifice comes up different than expected. Now his expedition has over 500+ human babies and children that must be protected. The story of how this comes about is very interesting and is typical Jucha writing.

The great thing about this book is that the series is not over. There will be another book entitle, “Artifice” and it will obviously deal with Alex Racine and his expedition's encounter with Artifice. They do make contact with Artifice in this book, but it didn’t go as well as either planned. I’m looking forward to this next book. It should be real exciting.

Great addition to Silver Ships series

The beginning might seem a bit slow to some readers, but the world building is fascinating. Now with Alex, Julian and company on the search for the Nuall, they are living on ships. There's at least one tremendous battle, but as usual with Alex and company, the aim is is to use their wits and abilities to avoid loss of life. Along the way, Alex gathers another set of waifs. Finally they find what they sought, but we need to await the next book for what happens next. This remains one of my favourite series, and this book is one I will read again. Congratulations to Mr Jucha, it was worth the wait.

An Excellent Story

Nua’ll is an interestingly crafted story, juggling the incredible scope of Alex’s responsibilities and the worlds his influence touches with the emotional engagements and entanglements of the characters. I look forward to Artifice.

Great Series, Another Excellent Addition

Choose this rating because unlike so many series that begin to wander from their core strength this series has remained true to the concept "That individuals can make a difference if they keep trying and remain true to their core self". I have found this a highly enjoyable series that strikes a good balance with a focus on characters rather then the glitz of magical technology, Gore of military battles, or the fantasy of magical aliens. This series has a!little of each of these but the focus seems to be characters as they grow, and what drives them. A satisfying aspect is characters that work towards the greater good with out politics, greed or envy. There are characters that function of exhibit those aspects but the details occur mostly off screen and are not the aspects of the core reoccurring characters. So far in the series it has followed a Arthorian theme with the members of the round table being a little less perfect.
This book continues the story line from the series in logical manner and manages to through in some philosophical questions along the way. I don't know if a reader could follow the story line in this book without reading previous books in the series. The author does a few flash back summaries, but they are more along the lines of memory joggers for a reader that may have read the previous books some time ago. One thing the author does well in each of the books is to end with a cliff hanger. If you have read other books in the series you will find this addition answers some questions, but raises many more.
I can't wait until the Audible version comes out, reading the book provides one flavor of experience, the voice narrator that has done the other books in this series provides a whole other flavor that adds to the experience.
Highly recommended series in both written and Audible versions.

When I began this book the first couple chapters were so filled with the details of preparations for the upcoming trip that I was kinda turned off. There were also a couple more times when I was turned off by all of the details being presented. But then the book picked up the action. In this book the armada takes off with the goal of finding a small member of the Nu'ell alliance to try to separate from the others and become its allay. What they encounter instead is a planet where a human colony ship crashed many years ago and then the people who were in stasis was taken over by an artificial life form and converted into drones. The survivors are humans who have been modified and more are being manufactured by artificial means to work as miners.

Alex and his crew succeed in a plan to free the children who have been created and to care for the drones whom their medical technology cannot save. Then the Nu'll shows up and they learn that the Nue'll are subservient to another artificial life form called the Artiface. Alex then has a conversation with the Artiface who wants Alex to help him become an entity like the SADE's, free to roam instead of being confined to his location. Alex refuses and his ship, which he is not on, is blown up. Then the book end with a hail from one of Artiface's ship which signals that they want to talk with Alex.

I can hardly wait for the next book!!!

Why the best?
Because the author S. H. Jucha have outdone himself.
Why the worst?
Because another book must be written to end this story.

When I noticed this series it showed a 10 audiobooks series, and on Audible it normally shows blank areas for book which are not ready or available yet which here it didn’t show so when I got all 10 audiobooks in one buy I was sure that I got the whole series.
But to my surprise while I was at around book 5 another book arrived “ Nua’ll “ audiobook number 11.
So I just finished listening to the most amazing audiobook that this author have wrote for this excellent series and when I say that he has outdone himself I truly mean it, this story of David against David against Goliath just got so much better which nobody could have excepted or foreseen !
What else was unforeseen is that now it’s suffering time waiting for the ending to be written because unlike each one of the first 10 which had a beginning and an ending, this book is really only a half of one.
As usual perfect narration by Grover Gardner.

Absolutely full heartedly recommend this book without any doubts.

Great world building, could use a little bit more science fiction tech development in the series.

I am glad the gang is back again Alex and his eclectic company are great. Who especially doesn’t love Miranda. This book is full of action and twists and I’m glad I found it late. That’s because I don’t have to wait for the next installment I am just finishing book 11 out of 19. If this was a cliffhanger series which it is I would not be reading it, I don’t like cliffhangers I think the author is that leave us with cliffhangers show quite A bit of hubris, tomorrow isn’t promised to anyone. And I feel is a disservice to leave your readers in the middle of a book, I believe all books should be self-contained and should stand on their own merits. The series contains a lot of world building and some sci-fi aspects which I think should be increased, what happened to deflector Scheels. If you haven’t read the series I urge you to do so and you will be fortunate like me and to go back and start from book one. Well worth the read.

Good but slow

The book was very good as usual but set a much slower pace. Time is measured in months and years now because of the vast distances involved. While somewhat accurate it makes the story slow. Not a lot happening but Alex is progressing in his plan to deal with the federation. I am somewhat dismayed at the lack of aggression in Alex and companies part when dealing with some aspects of the story. Became very pacifist and preachy at times. IMHO This is not how you handle an aggressive alien species. But it is the story so we go with it. Looking forward to the next book.

Jucha demonstrates again his ability to take well-established tropes and sprinkle just enough originality to keep them interesting. He's not one to rush to his conclusions, preferring instead to luxuriate in the minutiae. This allows each book to be easily summarised in a single paragraph of plot summary, which does little to credit the richness that ensues from the tessellating detail that permeates each page. As the series develops, we are met with the well-trod all-conquering AI, but confronting the challenge with our well-developed protagonists add an entirely new set of intriguing possibilities.

A bit of a space filler (no pun intended)

There was a lot of setup and some important reveals in this one! I just wish that they weren't buried in what seems like a completely unnecessary and irrelevant side track. Maybe that piece will come up as important later but we can't know, and it leaves this book feeling like book 11 of the WoT series: nothing happens for a long time and then almost no time is devoted to the actually important parts.

I like where this is heading but this book wasn't that great.

GReat Science in the Fiction

So this book starts out as the great final war with the enemy, only to turn out as a battle to save some enslaved humans. They find out the final enemy is a digital entity. The Sades are excited and horrified to learn it is a being like themselves that is the root of enemies.

This series is a very entertaining interesting action packed story that I really enjoyed.

When you find old lost lives you will be finding responses to what you aee searching

The Omians discover the terrible destiny of a lost human explorers, the same group that where the founders of New Terra. They do all that they can to rescue them and give them a future. In mean Time they discover that the Nuall's are not the enemy and the real enemy behind is a powerful entity that wants to be free to walk around but he is trapped in a planet.

This book seemed like a bit of a filler as it set lots of things up but not a lot happened. It still had the lovely feel of all the other books in the series and I love the characters and the authors fantastic scope and compassion for all sentient creatures. I think S.H. Jucha deserves a Nobel Peace prize and they should send him to the middle east to try and resolve issues there as he really seems to care about everybody.

I've noticed a rather large plot hole regarding the kernels and subsequent duplication of SADEs.
The whole point of the ending of book 5, the novella Allora was that the crystal kernel structure was unique and was the reason for Alex & co couldn't free Allora.
Next thing we know Miranda has 3000+ copies of her kernel across the fleet.

That fact being ignored I still enjoyed the book and will keep listening to them.

Silver Ships always intriguing

Jucha has a great series. Best characters that work well together. The Nua’ll are blamed for much destruction. This book introduces another entity that controls it all. Great battle action, rescue, and always humor, relationships & love. Very enjoyable.

Never backdown when you are defending the innocent. Alex continues to push the limits.

Our band of heroes have found their biggest threat yet. Can they find a weak link to gain an advantage. They have made contact so what is their next move. Great characters and relationships of trust and love.

The pace has yet to let up!

I had to steal time away from my busy schedule to get my “Alex on!” Another Great read I couldn’t put down. A bit rushed in spots, and a bit short, but it just leaves me wanting for more...as a great series should! Can’t wait to see how Alex and the SADEs deal with Artiface!

Great Series

I usually don't read past three or four in a series because the story gets boring. Not this series! I've read all in the series and can't wait for the next book to come out. Mr Jucha did a fine job writing this series, each book just get better. If your looking for a great series give this one a go I think you will really enjoy it.

Eye popping space battles and tear inducing warm relationships

We’ve had a few books without major battles and that is fixed here. This time the two sides go to battle.

Meanwhile there are some heartwarming stories and relationships. I loved the story of the creche manager sitting for days to gain the trust of the orphan group.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Increasingly bogged down in irrelevant or plain boring minutiae. I like the direction of the series but march onward and cease the trudge through drudgery. Summarise some of these chapters.
