Life is What Matters by Alka Dixit is a story of Dr Aditi who embraced her imperfections and succeeded in life. It’s about her journey towards success while suffering from a life-threatening infection.

The author 'Alka Dixit' has very simply portrayed the idea of living a simple yet happy and content life. I am really amused to see how easily a person can gain fulfilment by just following some very easy methods stated in the book.
This perfect yellow beauty came in my life right at the moment when I needed it the most.
The story is based on a plot of author's meeting with a lady who is very much in love with her life. Dr. Dixit gets excited to know about the secret behind such contentment. Meeting after meeting is held and new ways of feeling satisfied are explored. The author strongly supports the theories by giving relatable examples.
Overall, it is a very good book and I thoroughly enjoyed the read.
Also, it happened to be my fastest-read book of 2018. I'm glad Dr. Alka Dixit met that lady and decided upon writing it.

“Edit your life frequently and ruthlessly. It’s your masterpiece, after all”.
We all know what we want from our lives and what needs to be done to aim for it. But to achieve what we aim requires a continuous push and motivation. And the book like Life is what matters do their work honestly.
I always choose brief and quick self-help books as they are quick and inspire you in short number of pages. Such books do give us a little perspective of other’s life experiences and to grab the good out of it.
Life is what matters is a book giving the brief yet meaningful life lessons. With inspiring quotes, it offers short narratives to make the reader understand the worth of their lives. The book also has concise and crisp to-do points shared by the author to apply in a different set of situations and happenings.
The best part of the book was its idea of treating ‘life’ as your own ‘kid’. The book onsets with the chart depicting the most amazing part of the book that is to behave as if your life is your own child. Nurture and love it the way you would do for your child.
The author has written this book in plain and clear language which is very well connecting for readers. This book is meant for everyone out there who wishes to read a light and an inspiring little book.
It’s a quick and refreshing read.

Life Is What Matters is a good self help book which helps you to move forward in all the phases of our life.

The books starts from describing what is this book about and where it got inspired from. Generally this book is about ideas and thoughts to overcome the struggles basically we faces and some of Dr.Aditi's personal life experiences. Dr.Aditi is the main inspiration to write this novel for author.

I feel beyond those regular theoretical way of approach in self help books this is more facile to connect and understand. Author divided the book into three parts namely A,B,C. I really liked Dr.Aditi as person, how she took fourth after the struggles faced by her and now how she started to inspiring others is a motivating thing.

Language is simple and lucid. Only simple vocabularies are used. Cover is a decent one with one kite and yellow filled all over, quite an eye catchy too.

Overall, Life Is What Matters is a good satisfactory read. We can finish it in one set. It includes vital factors like Motivational, inspiring, life succeeding and different thinking aspects.

About the Author

Dr. Alka Dixit is a practicing doctor and faculty in a medical college in Delhi NCR. She has been guiding people to live a better life by drawing inspiration from her as well as others' life experiences. A mishap during childhood, deviation from 'normal', medical school, love, two kids and now a book, conclude her life in a nutshell.

My reviews:-
Life is what matters is it motivate motivational self help book which taught us , how to succeed after failure in our life according to this book the success story is divided into three stages.
this book taught us how to walk through crisis of our lives with positivity and a positive motivation , and taught us how to achieve big with available resources.
Generally this book is about ideas and thoughts to overcome the struggles basically we faces and some of Dr.Aditi's personal life experiences. Dr.Aditi is the main inspiration to write this novel for author.
Languages vary Lucid , relatable and interesting all the things are described with simple vocabularies.
This book is a collection of the experiments and challenges faced by the author in her life from her mistakes and failure.

The preface to the book is nicely penned down. The main idea’s of the book are beautifully introduced in the preface and it plays an instrumental role in setting the tone for the further framework of the book. the preface also mentions about the 3 ideas a person should nurture in his lifetime which I thought a rather necessary concept and explanation. However in the later chapters the ideas become repetitive. There are beautiful similarities drawn by the author of various instances. But at different places it so feels that the author gives a very elaborate, step- by-step explanation of how to tackle a particular crisis but she ends it up with “Cant do much? just leave it/ ignore it and forget the rest”. Such sentences do indicate the feeling of giving up which is what I didn’t like about the book. the author nicely highlights the relation between gratitude and optimism. The book preaches the importance about a minimalistic way of life in a beautiful manner. There are pointers included for easy implementation. A thorough is done for writing down this book. the book at places, is filled with contradicting ideas of giving up and acceptance which for me don’t go well together.
I have read many motivational books before that but really this one is very interesting and unique about many facts , this is perfect explanation how to tackle with negativity and negative thoughts. Does a lot of unique and fresh motivational quotes and sentences. text to the author for describing these visual imaginations and the real meaning of success.

My Reviews:

We all have goals. We all want to achieve success in life. We want to have good jobs, make money, have a good standard of living. We work hard daily to achieve what we want. But in this race of success, we forget to enjoy and appreciate the little moments that life has to offer. Due to societal pressure and social media we set unrealistic goals for ourselves. We compare, we criticise, we hate ourselves more than we should.

With this book, take a pause. Appreciate what you have. Focus on positivity and pat your back, for you have come a long way dear.

This life is your kid, love it. Cherish it. Fulfill all its dreams and moreover streamline it. All you have is this one life. Live it to your fullest.
Life is What Matters is an incredibly motivating tale of a girl who embraced her imperfections and succeeded in life, against all odds. With mantras for living a

Review-
I came across various non fiction self help books written by foreign authors but this book "Life is what matters" by Alka Dixit was first Indian non fiction book I read. The title is good and makes readers curious what life matters to us all. The cover is yellow in color and minimal one.
The book has various life hacks like how we can overcome hurdles coming in the journey of success. How we should accept the way we are. How we can count our blessing. How we should be grateful.
The writing style and presentation is very simple. The language used is apt, lucid, and grammar is simple.
Trust me this is the book I can recommend you all to read as this will help to build your personal life.

Life is What Matters; Its Time to be Happy Again.l By Alka Dixit
🌠
#BLURB: The book begins with the author's deep search for life. Fortunately, Alka Dixit meets a humble, inspiring , doctor, resonating person who changed her approach towards life. Inspired by this person she brought this book alive and beautiful.
It will take readers on a journey of loving oneself unconditionally.
It makes us believe in three principle as stated in the book:
1: Your life is your Kid, Love it.
2: Streamline it.
3: Fulfill it's dreams.
🌠
#WRITING: Writing in the book is pretty easy and lucid..easily understandable. The points are relatable and thought provoking. Author pointed out some basic points of our which we ignore. Through her writing she tries to speed positivity😇
🌠
#TITLE_AND_COVER: I love the cover of the book..it is eye catching with bright yellow colour. Through a single look you will feel a spurl of happiness.
I like the title but it could have been better.
🌠
#MY_VIEWS: This book is a nice add up in the self help genre dealing with the distance between dreams and reality. The author has discussed in details the remedy of being happy and the real meaning of being the leader of your life. This book gives a vivid description about how to train one's mind. It depicts some real interactions the author experienced.
But in my opinion everything I have read is same as other self help books. I was unable to find any x-factor, which is necessary for a self help book in the competitive market.

"When you smile, your brain is aware of the activity and actually keeps a track of it. The more you smile, the more effective you are at breaking the brain’s natural tendency to think negatively. If you smile often enough, you end up rewiring your brain to make positive patterns more often than the negative ones." - Life Is What Matters

The above tip has worked its magic on me and I cannot thank Alka Dixit enough for this wonderful advice. Just the other day, I was upset about something and my anxiety levels started soaring. Since I was traveling in a rickshaw, I peeked into the rear-view mirror and started smiling. I kept smiling because I did not know of any other way to calm my nerves. And slowly, my heartbeat got normal and I started to feel much better. I now smile a lot more than before this helps me feel a lot lighter.

I will recommend this book to all those who are in need of some positive vibes lately.

Life Is What Matters is a self-help book that gives you general and very practical advices to lead a more satisfied and happy life by overcoming your fears and faults. It teaches you to accept yourself and also work on yourself at the same time.
The title completely goes with the book because it teaches you how to put your lives as your first priority and also why it is important.
The language is nice, simple with no complexity. The pointed structure helps you understand what is to be conveyed in a better way.
It is a short and crisp, action-based read with suitable and short examples. The content and concept is fairly new, interesting, practical and helpful.
The only thing I must mention is that if you are an avid reader of self-help books, you may want to pass this book.
However, I do highly recommend it for beginners and a one-time read for the avid readers.

Life is what matters, the title itself is heartwarming. As a reader, I walked into the book without any perception as the title had built a faith for me. Walking into the book I haven’t regretted a page turned, or a minute sent on the book as a reader. The narration is very very simple, kudos to the author for keeping it simple and not giving a puzzle of words to the readers in the name of literature. In some ways it as a slap to my self-involved self, made me realize how nonchalant I am towards other. The book seems to have been written with this motto and wow the beauty with which the author shows a crystal clean mirror to its readers.
There are few books that stay close to you for long and this is definitely it!

Alka Dixit in her debut book comes up with the simplest of all but one of the most effective mantras of living one's life. Life What Matters brings in front of us, meaningful and relatable incidents from the lives of various people. These narrations along with the inspiring quotes give us a different perspective towards our lives. The book tells us how to set priorities and how to know who is a positive influence for you. The narrations and stories from the lives of different people, are convincing enough, to keep you enthralled. The best part of the book was its simple language and crisp way of narration. There were some really inspiring quotes, worth remembering. The book is a quick yet an honestly inspiring read.

This book can be deemed as a “self-help” or a “self-improvement” book. But what I really liked about the book is that the author doesn’t preach to the reader. Instead certain pearls of wisdom are imparted very simply and clearly to the reader.
There are many things in the book that the reader may already know. But when we struggle with certain situations in life, we tend to forget these things. Reading the book certainly helped me to get a fresh perspective on how to approach my life and problems.
I will certainly recommend this book to readers as motivating and inspiring. People of all ages can understand and relate to the book.

Review:

I am always fascinated by self-help books and that is the reason I took up this one. The book starts off very well and the idea put forth in the initial chapters is really a wonderful idea. However, the book did not meet my expectations completely. The preface to the book is nicely penned down. The main idea’s of the book is beautifully introduced in the preface and it plays an instrumental role in setting the tone for the further framework of the book. the preface also mentions the 3 ideas a person should nurture in his lifetime which I thought a rather necessary concept and explanation. However, in the later chapters, the ideas become repetitive. There are beautiful similarities drawn by the author of various instances. But at different places, it so feels that the author gives a very elaborate, step-by-step explanation of how to tackle a particular crisis but she ends it up with “Can’t do much? just leave it/ ignore it and forget the rest”. Such sentences do indicate the feeling of giving up which is what I didn’t like about the book. the author nicely highlights the relation between gratitude and optimism. The book preaches the importance of a minimalistic way of life in a beautiful manner. There are pointers included for easy implementation. A thorough is done for writing down this book. the book at places is filled with contradicting ideas of giving up and acceptance which for me don’t go well together. A very beautiful perspective on prayer is put up by the book. for all those who want motivation and guide as to how you must achieve your goals, this book is for you. A very very beautiful part of the book that Enlighted me with a great thought was the part on “bonding with a difference”. Just the title is enough to arouse curiosity. However wonderful the prayer part is mentioned, I found the book interpreting god in a deterministic way and as an entity to put the blames on. The book also lacks flow. I would conclude by highlighting why this book might be a good read. It is because the book not only lists pointers for practical implementation of the ideas mentioned but also tells how these ideas have transformed a person into an ideal, attractive and pure human. Anyone not into deep self help reading and stuck with life or trying to find a meaning in life must give a try to this book.

Self help and motivational books are innumerable in number and an average reader has this pertinent question before picking one more self-help book on what more will this book offer. The author introduces a new concept of treating your life as your kid — treat life similar to how a kid is protected, nurtured, guided and loved.

The book is divided into three parts — Part A on how your life needs to be treated as your kid, Part B on the factors which are beyond our control in our life and Part C on what odds life can throw at us. The book written by Dr. Alka Dixit who is a practicing doctor and life counselor herself, brings to this book her vast experience in helping people handle the different challenges thrown in daily life. However, a majority of initial parts of the book are inspired from her interactions with Dr. Aditi who has been a life champion and braved multiple hurdles in life but still maintains a positive attitude.

Through out, the author discusses about a certain dimension of life and gives a ten step action plan on how it can be achieved. Most of them also have real life examples and analogies helping the reader to understand and assimilate better. The writing is simple and free flowing without being preachy or cliched. There are multiple scenarios in the book which an average reader can compare and find similarities in their own life.

By the end of it, the reader will be left with multiple ideas and tips which are easy to apply in daily life. At less than 200 pages, this is a quick read and also meant to be read again and again. A must read for a self help book which is practical and gives realistic life lessons.

Everyone is brooding with some problem or the other. This shouldn't stop us from living our life. One has to resort to measures such as shifting of thoughts, minimising the needs and someone times we have to let go surrendering the bridle of life to destiny.

'Life is what Matters' is a story that will inspire you to overcome all odds and live your life to the fullest.
It will make you look at your life from a new perspective.

The book is primarily based on these lines - Your life is your kid; Love it; Streamline it; Fulfill its dreams. The cover is bright and lively, emanating positive vibes.Instead of solely compiling a listicle of do's and don'ts, the author has narrated bits from life of an inspiring personality. The listicles compiled by her were short and crisp, conveying the right message. I really liked the analogy of life with a child. It was the definition of life in the truest sense and was something unheard of. The narrative is engaging. The language is simple and the words you stumble across through the course of reading are the ones that are commonly used in day to day life.

I'm not a fan of books in the self-help genre. I find them to be lengthy and preachy. But, I'm glad I chose this book.

This book can be a perfect self help book to anyone, written in a lucid manner and the topic that will make people indulge in reading as it will take reader on a journey of loving oneself unconditionally.
It makes us believe in three principle as stated in the book:

Book review
"Life is what matters" by Dr Alka Dixit
Sristi publishers and distributors

It's time to be happy again.
The book deals with the distance between dreams and reality, discipline being the ladder. The author has discussed in details the remedy of being happy and the real meaning of being the leader of your life. This book gives a vivid description about how to train one's mind. It depicts some real interactions the author experienced.
It is a good book for self motivation, it has come up with some great practical habbits which really works.
The things I realized reading these lines is "people's opinion on you does not define you"
Treat your life as your kid the author says, read this book to find out how and why.
Also the quotes from famous writers are boost up to the content.

Rating 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Firstly thanks mam @authoralkadixit for sending me this copy of your book .
I really loved the book because author doesn't gives us rules to follow as a guru . But she has made us understand what it means to enjoy the life . She wants us , each and every single person to feel the same how it feels to enjoy the life .
The most important thing that I hate about self help books are they are written in big paragraphs and it makes me so annoying rather than help me .
BUT THIS BOOK WAS TOTALLY DIFFERENT THAN OTHER BOOKS .
Thanks to the author for pointing out the major facts in bulletin formats . It kept me calm during reading it and I was able to understand all the points so easily and really it made a impact on me . .
If you ask me can you read this book ?
.
My asnwer is " YOU MUST READ " at least thinking of yourself .

A nice book to realize what are most basic things in life, which are both important and meaningful. It does contain all the same stuff that you hear normally on being grateful, expect less , pray more, have faith....and so on and so forth. However its good to know about these things and it does help most of the times to surrender to some power when the ride is rough and tide is high...but its not always easy to practise everything in daily life.
And how can one not expect from loved ones , i mean when you are doing things for others its very human to expect some gestures in return. But as of this stage in my life i don't understand the concept of not expecting...easier said than done.

But overall a great read to understand some good lessons for life to live peacefully and ensure that..thou is the write for thouself story !!!

Life is what matters:Its time to be happy again is one of the best non-fiction and self help book which I have completed recently.
Events and happening describe in the book is relatable and motivate us to face the problems in our life.
Main agenda of the book is that everyone has to love their life like our kids. Life is so precious and we should live each moments of it happily.

Some of the quote i liked vey much like "To understand life, we need to first value our life. In simpler words, we need to take care of our life."
Title is the book is well suited and the cover is nice and catchy. Overall I found it a very nice and inspiring read.
