"Sometimes you need to become lost in a book to be found." -Savannah Preston

No truer words have ever been spoken and this was on amazing adventure that I will not forget anytime soon!!

The characters were remarkable. The story between Eoin and Savannah was breathtakingly beautiful. I felt a real connection with these two characters and the feelers in this story......Gosh....had me thinking and feeling as if I was part of the story. The magic of their relationship just floated from the pages.

The story-line was phenomenal. Sloat does a fantastic job at reeling in her readers from the beginning and her attention to detail makes us feel as if we are in the story with the characters. This story was adventurous and romantic and I loved how the story turned out at the end. Pure genius and magical. I was completely enchanted by Savannah's journey into the realm of being a Librarian. I highly recommend this read!!

FYI. You can read these books as a stand alone. Different characters and different adventures in each book.

At 40% through this is a DNF. I really wanted to like this one, but just couldn't deal with the over drama and other things that just didn't work for me (including some major info dumping and being told instead of shown). I think this author has some great potential and maybe others won't have the same issues, but definitely not for me.

I had a really fun time reading this novel! It was a light, refreshing, well-paced read about time travel and history with a little bit of adventure and a dash of romance.

I could really relate to Savannah, as we are both the awkward, don't-fit-in-this-time bookworms. I am a sucker for characters who love books so this was already a book off to a great start. Her character arc was well placed. The theme of her finding herself was adamant and well placed for a YA/NA novel. I especially loved the love that she had for herself. There are a lot of people today (in the real world and in books) that struggle with loving themselves so adding that element to the book made it relevant to these times.

I loved Savannah's relationship with Jessa, her best friend, and protector. I enjoy strong female relationships as much as I do characters and this friendship was just wonderful. Though they did not like each other in the beginning, they became fast friends. I love that Jessa is into fashion and design as she doesn't seem like the type of person that you would expect to be a protector. And then there is Eoin. When he was first introduced, he was such a brute but I slowly came to enjoy his character.

I loved that Sloat included the time sickness. It is such a little detail that, for me, made such a large impact. I have wondered how time travel would affect us. Though, Sloat's time sickness was more of a stress on the body, I am guessing, due to the fact that it is basically in two places at once; the present and the past, then a difference in the microbes as I would have assumed but either way it is still a cool and interesting detail to have included.

My biggest gripe with the book was Savannah's disregard for the biggest (or at least my biggest) rule for time travel; Don't do anything to change the past. For example, Savannah's use of the cell phone which allowed her to get out of a sticky situation in 14th Century Scotland was ingenious, there is the minor fact that a cell was introduced about 600 years before it was supposed to be. Though it did not seem to have notable impacts on the current time, it is still a factor that must be looked at.

One thing that I did not realize when I started this book is that it is actually the second book in the series! The first book centers around Emme, who you will see in The Archivist, and her adventures as a Librarian. Since the books are based off of two different character plots, (like Seraphina and Tess of the Road), I didn't have any issues following along with the plot or the basic inner workings of The Librarians. I do want to know more about how one becomes a Librarian and how they, in great detail, get to time travel! This one was in my TBR before I had read The Archivist so now I will definitely have to check it out!

I absolutely fell in love with this story. I mean who wouldn't want to travel into books and learn fascinating history. This story is absolutely epic. Scotland is a recent favorite setting so this book is perfect. With all the descriptions in this book, I felt like I was already there. I felt like I was there with the characters every moment.

The characters in this book were completely and utterly charming. I fell in love with them instantly. I love how it was a rough first meeting but then chemistry happened. Made for a really inspirational storyline. Their love was absolutely pure and beautiful.

Even though this is the second book in a series I felt as if it could be read as a stand-alone. I didn’t feel as if I missed too much by not reading the first in this series. It truly was a great book!

Overall this is such a charming story that book lovers will come to enjoy for years. This is a great series full of mystery, suspense, great characters, and an excellent plot. I rated this a five-star book. I hope you will check it out.

I like the idea of what the Librarians do and why, but that’s not what either book in the series is about.

Like the first book, this is about a young lady going back in time and falling in love...history be damned. If you are looking for a romantic book (and can look past more than a few editing errors) then these books might be what you are looking for. If, however, you crave something a bit deeper, keep looking. It’s doubtful you’ll find it here.

The characters introduced in this story I fell in love with them I love how they meet they were off to a rough start at first meeting but then slowly things started to change between them the chemistry between them .. well it was pure and beautiful! It was a lot of fun watching their story unfold! The story caught my attention and I was mesmerized from the first chapter until the very end I was too afraid to stop reading afraid that something important would happen and I would miss it so I kept on reading .. turning the page faster and faster to see what happens next! That kind of feeling it's exhilarating I felt this adrenaline running through me as I kept on reading! The coolest adventure unfolds before your very eyes! It's full of action, shocking twists and turns, and beautiful heartfelt moments!

The bagpipes of Scotland are calling to me!!! Christy Sloat did not disappoint in the slightest with her second installment in The Librarian Chronicles. She introduced us to a new librarian, Savannah, who develops into a true young lady during this story, not just a Librarian. Savannah feels lost in this world, as many of us can relate to...not quite feeling like we fit in. Until she not only visits the beautiful fields of Scotland, but runs into a brusk, feisty, tall, and muscular Scottish man, Eoin. Eoin is a fighter, lover and overall gentleman. What else could a girl ask for??? Something that you learn runs so much deeper. Sloat presents a tale that tears at your heart strings (not just pulls), as Savannah and Eoin, find themselves, each other and where they belong not only in place, but in time. Such a beautiful love story with a time travel twist!

Christy Sloat does it again! In this story our Heroine Savannah Preston is time traveling investigating The history of the a Walsh clan with the help of her best friend and fashionista Jessa. Christy takes us on an amazing trip to Scotland where Savannah must record history while butting heads with Eoin who is,let me say, just the most broguish character I have read. The story is a real page turner. It was so amazingly well written that My eyes devoured it in 3 hours! A phenomenal book that sucks you in and makes you feel like you are in 14th century Scotland.

This series is whimsical, imaginative and fun. You just get lost in the travel and story the characters bring you to. In this one we have Savannah who is lost. She is a Librarian like her grandmother but she doesn’t really know where she belongs. She only is focused on he goal of being the best Librarian possible. She doesn’t have much self esteem and confidence outside of the world of books and preserving the history of the past.

This time she is preserving Sir Malcolm Walsh. They are trying to find out his story so she is in the past where Scotland is fighting England for their Independence. Only she meets Eion.

Eion at first is surly and not kind. He is lonely as well. We see that he just is trying to find his place in his time of history. As him and Savannah get to know one another, they help each other see where they belong. For Eion he belongs with Savannah she grounds him and brings him peace and joy. For Savannah she feels most at home in Scotland and in Eion’s arms. He helps her see that life is more than just books and preserving the history that others have lived. It is for living. Only they are from different times.

Both are strong characters and you can see the attraction and trust they have with one another. They also respect each other and find their way to see where they belong. Only on their way to finding this we learn the truth and see that sometimes tough decisions that break rules may need to occur for the right path to be found.

The story is imaginative and addictive. You are drawn into the pages by the allure of the writing and plot and the characters who keep the story alive and moving. You can not help but love Eion and Savannah and how they deal with the changing of the past and future but also how they make decisions together and find a way to preserve history and also love one another.

A wonderfully written entertaining story that just keeps you in the moment and feeling as if you are taking part in history and what is going on as it unfolds. Look forward to the next in the series. __________________________

I did not read the blurb, I fell in love with the first book so I just dived on into the 2nd one and at first, was confused because I assumed we were staying with the same characters. Until about a chapter in is when I realized we are reading about different librarians doing their job of preserving history. I really did enjoy how the author gave us different characters, different settings, and a different plot.
The Archivist wow. We are now going to Scotland on our time-traveling adventure and let me tell you I have always wanted to go to Scotland! The land just seems too magical. We have been introduced to another Librarian who has the power to open a book and jump right on in. She is getting information on Sir Walsh who went into hiding. Our main character wants to know where? While on her mission she doesn't expect to fall in love with the one person who has been rude to her from the get-go and might know exactly about Sir Walsh and his whereabouts. As our story unfolds we see her break the rules and that could be good or bad. It will just depend. I really loved how Savannah finds love, and adventure, and lives her life. Overall this was a great story and I can't wait to dive into another one to see where a new character will take us in history.

Christy Sloat is one of my favorite authors. I have read and loved everything she has written. That being said, The Archivist is hands down her best work to date. The story is full of whimsy and charm. The writing is almost lyrical and is a pure delight to read. I felt such a connection to Savannah. She's not your typical heroine and I love that about her. She reminds me so much of myself when I was in college and I think other readers will feel that way as well. Medieval Scotland, with it's haunting, tragic history is the perfect back drop for this story. Scotland, itself, feels like one of the main characters. The tumult of the time blends perfectly with the conflict in the story, creating a beautiful symmetry that fuels the story right until the very end. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves books, history and an amazing story.

This series has everything a book lover who wants to get lost between the pages of a book could want.  The fact that our characters can travel in books and learn about history is an amazing concept.  I really get lost in both this one and the previous book in the series. It a very vividly told story that sets the landscape of Scotland and our worlds in a perfect balance.  Christy sloat is a talented author who does not disappoint.

The Archivist is everything you could want out of truly great story. Romance, friendship, history, time travel, heart pounding action, and twists and turns that will keep you guessing and leave your jaw hanging in surprise!
Christy Sloat has given us another beautifully written tale about a time traveling Librarian who is a heroin you can't help but love and root for. Savannah is a wonderful character, strong and full of sass, yet unsure and broken in her own way. Eoin is a hunky yet sweet old Scott, who has a deep story and heart that makes you melt. Christy is a master of writing characters you love and easily attach to, and she has truly outdone herself here.
Savannah is a girl raised for her destiny as a Librarian. Unlike our beloved Emme from The Librarian,Savannah has been prepped and molded for the role she will play in preserving history. But being prepared and aware brings its own problems and hardships.
Full of fantastic detail, amazing and lovable characters, and beautiful scenery. You can get lost in these pages as easily as Savannah does!

I'm in the minority but that's okay.

I have to say, I liked the first book better. This was just... okay. And the blurb and the fact that it takes place in Scotland shouldn't = just okay. It should be wow and OMG. Sadly, it wasn't.

Savannah is working as a librarian because it's the perfect cover for what she truly is - an archivist. Her job is to travel through time and document certain events as they happened. And when a good chunk of a Scot laird's life is missing, Savannah knows it's up to her to travel back in time and find out exactly what happened.

She didn't expect to find a rather hostile Scot who becomes her side kick, on this trip but she can't say no because he's the only one who can help her. Plus, he turns out to be way more than just another Scot living at the castle and can tell Savannah secrets she wouldn't be able to uncover, otherwise.

Along the way, they develop feelings for each other but... if I remember correctly, it all happened kind of fast. It felt rushed. And because this, I, the reader, didn't have all the warm and fuzzy feels I want to have, while reading a romance novel. Or a love story.

It saddens me that I also can't remember more of the story, that it wasn't memorable enough for me; and while I have voluntarily agreed to read an early copy of this book, I cannot rate it higher than 3 stars.

But don't take my word for it, give it a try and see what you think.

~I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review~

There were some good things in this book. I loved the overall premise and story but the writing felt a little rushed to me and the characters didn’t feel fully developed. Also, the conversations between Savannah and her best friend, Jessa felt a little juvenile to me. So, while I was able to stay interested enough to finish it, I didn’t love it. I will say though, just because I didn’t love it doesn’t mean others won’t.

-🌶️ (literally no spice, but it’s not that kinda book so it’s sweet!)

Book two in The Librarian Chronicles is another lighthearted read that introduces us to Savannah Preston. Savannah, like our other FMC is a Librarian who was bestowed with the gift of time travel for the purpose of documenting actual history as it happens through blank books that write themselves as they are witnessing it unfold in real time.

Current day, Savannah is a bit of a loner, curvy book-nerd who feels lost. She’s a college student by day, an assistant at the library and also a time travelling historian. All Librarians have a protector that oversees the body in real time as they are in the book. In these walks, Librarians must wear their tether to the real world or they are actually taken into and can become lost in their timeline.

Her current mission is in Scotland to document and research Sir Malcolm Walsh during the conflicts in the 14th century but upon her arrival in a stall, she finds her bracelet (the tether to the modern world) missing.

Using her quick wits, she now has a side-quest to retrieve her artifact in the only trade-post near the castle she’s serving. But, her accompanying protector, Eoin, soon becomes someone that she feels equally tethered to. Should she leave her bracelet off to stay with him as she finally feels “home”?

Their 2-day quest turns into a nightmare. The protected becomes the protector. Together, they have a plan but interfering with the natural order of things is a rule you aren’t supposed to break. Yet when two people who are lost become found together, do you break all of the rules so you can have your happily ever after?

Why yes, yes you do!

This book can be a total stand alone but it is part of a trilogy.

💞💞LOVED💞💞
💞 I loved the idea that he wore his father’s tartan against his own
💞 I love that they were both willing to sacrifice for what they knew was true
💞 When she traded her cell phone… I could sooo picture Ben Stiller in The Night at the Museum when he was like “maaaaaaaaaaaggiiiic” with Attila the Hun. LOL

This is the second book in The Librarian Chronicles series.

The MFC, college girl Savannah Preston, works in a library. She is a member of The Libararians, a secret society of gifted women of the Bailey family. The Librarian's job is to time travel in history to record events. Savannah is to travel to Scotland to the 14ch Century to discover and confirm, and finally preserve, the history of infamous Scottish outlaw Sir Malcolm Walsh. Savannah has a bracelet to tether her to her own time, and her friend Jessa as her protector to call her back to her own time.

In this 2nd book, the effects of staying in the wrong time period were mentioned, i.e. time sickness, resulting in anything from queasiness to brain damage.

My favourite quotes:

- "Sometimes you need to become lost in order to be found."

Although Books 1-2 were good, they're not of the standard to warrant buying Books 3-4. Instead of each book being a narration of the different librarians, I would of liked it better if there was an extension of Savannah's & Eoin's tale.

I want to start off by saying that I did try read this book once before. I did put it down due to personal reasons. . That had nothing to do with the book. But I am glad that I decided to pick this book up again. I really enjoyed reading it and getting back into the world of traveling librarian. And just like the first one I was not disappointed at all. Now this book does follow a different librarian. Which I didn't mind getting to know a new characters. Savannah is my favorite and feel her at times and the things she deals with.
About this book:
Savannah is a college girl who works at a library. Who has been given the gift to travel through books and record history and make sure it's written right. She travels to Scotland 14 century to find a man who has been hidden. She knows that he dies but unsure where he has been before that. Savannah also has a bad relationship with her mother. And is very hard on herself too. Savannah goes and reads her book and gets pulled back into Scotland. She has to figure out away to get home. Again really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book and the first one has well.

Mrs. Sloat you've done it again. 14 times now you have pulled at my heart strings as you whisked me away to the land you have chosen to write about. You are an enchantress with words. You cast a spell over me with them. I could see the Bonnie hills of Scotland, hear the bagpipes and waterfall, and feel the wind in my face as I rode atop the horse with Savannah. I have fallen in love with one of your characters yet again, this time Eoin. They're so relatable. I could relate to everything Savannah felt. Sadness, joy, anger, despair. I could feel it all. You pull us into your books just as the books pull the librarians into them. Never let the haters stop you from sharing this true God given talent with the world.

I really enjoyed this book! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It is the second book in a series of time travel romance. It can also act as a standalone read.

I read the first one in the series and struggled to connect with the characters and the story. The Archivist changed that and I am so glad I gave this book a chance! I loved the main characters and their story. Savannah is a librarian whose job is to time travel in history to record events related to Sir Malcolm Walsh. Throughout the story she gets trapped in the past and works with Eoin to help her get back to her time.

The character's chemistry was great and the main character relateable. I also loved the friendship between Jessa and Savannah. Very enjoyable and quick read!

So this sequel follows Savannah who is also one of the Bailie women and she has the bracelet as her tether. She ends up in Medieval Scotland and has a bit of an adventure and falls in love with an unexpected man.

This story flowed so nicely and I loved every second of it. The last 3 chapters had me a giggly squeeing mess because everything was coming up aces for Savannah and I couldn't be happier for her. The time travel like the first book flowed perfectly and there was no jumping all awkwardly. The love story was adorable and pure. It was almost and enemies to lovers but the 2 characters got close rather quickly. So it was definitely more a slow burn than anything but it was so good when they did get together.

Thank you Christy for another awesome story!

This is the second story within the librarian. Chronicles. This one follows Savannah. She travels back to the 14th century Scotland. The one thing I do like is that explains that each traveler librarian has a object but tethers them to the present time. During this travel she loses her bracelet which tethers her to her time. She then has to learn and remember what happens in the past as well as the present to find her way home. I am falling in love with the author's writing style. I also love their world building. I love how the author put so much time and work and thought into their characters and their storyline.

To stay or not to stay ?

I have to admit, this book was better than the first. Now mind you they can read as standalones. This one was set in Scotland during the time when the English were trying to take control and rule Scotland. Savannah is a Librarian, able to travel back in time and record history. At one point she travels as loses the item that would keep her tethered to her own time. Now she's unsure if she can get home at all. with some help from unlikely Highlander, she finds her item and changes the past.

Time travel and romance!
