Broken,

Okay, now, I thought this book was actually good and interesting. The storyline and plot were good; both authors did a good job.

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2018...

Spoilers... I guess. You will see... Maybe not... But anyway:

I like how Brad, finally came out to his seal's buddies, many times it takes a gay person man or woman a hard time to come out. Due to the fact, that they're afraid of what their family; friends; or others might say. I feel like no one should be treated differently once he or she comes out, I have gay male and females, in my family, and I don't even care that they're gay because they are still the same person I knew growing up I don't even pay it no mind.

If it wasn't for Lance, I believe that Brad would've been holding none existence grudges against others (especially his navy seals buddies; including the ones he didn't know that was on the plane when it crashes). Such as Harlow, I was glad that Lance helped him through all of his pain with his knee, his attitude, etc., it's not good to be so bitter because your life will not change. I am into reading MM romance, MMW romance WWM romance, but I cannot read a WW romance. Eghhh, that is not something I am into at all. I guess it's because I am a female I prefer WM romance over WW romance because eghhh... But I like this MM romance story, I have read plenty of MM romance, and I be rooting for those men in those books, I am like Yass boy you better get your man lol. But I didn't do it in this book but, I was rooting for both Brad and Lance.

Not sure what book everyone else was reading, but I don't think I tried to read the same thing. In brief time I slugged through the middle of chapter 4, I'd contemplated putting this down at least a half dozen times. The fact that the middle of chapter 4 was barely even 2% of the whole didn't help.

Every bit of those few chapters felt ridiculous and unrealistic, but I was willing to try and get past this to give it more of a chance, but I kept getting tripped up by either poor word choice or ugly editing mistakes. "Human person" gave me a "wow! Really?" moment and I'm still not sure if that was intentional or a mistake. Having a character jump into a car in one paragraph and then back on his motorcycle barely a paragraph later are the kinds of things that drive me up a wall as a reader. These should be very basic plot or story elements that should never be missed in the editing process, especially not when they are only a few short sentences apart. Not to mention that said character has a supposed knee injury that makes walking nearly impossible (one of the MANY seriously unrealistic aspects of what I managed to read was the level of disability and struggle to get around and how it was portrayed, made it sound more like how a person in a wheel chair or on crutches would attempt to maneuver rather than a person with a cane) but they can apparently ride a motorcycle? Or was it a car?

It felt like the author was writing about things they had zero knowledge of and just made up a bunch of stuff that sounded good or dramatic without actually taking in any logistics or doing even a basic amount of research to give their subject even a semblance of realism. It was just really weird. Between that and the clunky feeling of the few scenes I read, it was just too much for me to want to try and slug through any more to see if the story ever managed to recover. Especially after I saw how stinking LONG this sucker is (my bad for not looking at the length in the first place).

I loved this book! This is the first book I read by Bruce, but I have read many of Juliana's. In this book, we see Lance find love. Lance is a doctor at the physical therapy rehab where Whitney met Harlow in the Bradford series. Lance is a workaholic and is lonely. When Brad was injured in a helicopter crash and hurt his knee, he had surgeries, but still hasn't healed. Brad is angry because he now walks with a cane and is unable to return to life as a SEAL. When Brad meets Lance, he does not make a good first impression. Brad is angry and gets violent with Lance before storming out of their first consultation. When Brad goes home and gets drunk, he can't stop thinking about Lance, so he returns to the rehab and makes a pass at him. Lance doesn't know what to do, so he takes him home to sleep it off. When Lance wants to try and help Brad, Brad agrees after talking to Harlow. Brad is attracted to Lance, but he is not out and Lance wants to date him, but has been with men before who were not out and it ended badly. There is something between Lance and Brad neither can ignore and they decide to give a relationship a try. Brad has to learn to accept who he is and how he can come out. Lance gives him patience and love to help him through it. I loved that Lance found happiness. Brad was through a lot and Lance was good for him. They had great chemistry and a lot of heat. This was a good book to add on to the Bradford series. Well done.

Healing With Love

This is a book by Juliana Conners who is a best Selling Author whose writing style and storylines I enjoy very much.  Bruce Rodgers is a new author to me and I can certainly say that his writing with Juliana is flowing and compelling.  This is a genre of story that I confess that I haven't read before i.e. male/male romance simply because I have no personal knowledge of it. having said that, I thought I would try and see whether I enjoyed the story as I love reading about the following : romances, HEA, no cheating, passion and LOVE and this book has all of these and so much more.  if you've read any or, in my case ALL, of the Bradford Brother's books by Juliana then you will be familiar with lance who works with Whitney.  He meets Brad who is now an ex Navy SEAL who has both physical and emotional issues which he needs to work through. Lance is there to help in any way that he can.  This is a sweet romance and I did really feel how much their love for each other grew throughout the storyline.  Some grammatical errors but I could easily ignore them as the story did capture my imagination.  The bonus epilogue was RED HOT!  I did enjoy this story and would read books by them like this again. Give it a try if you haven't read this genre before.  I received a reader's copy of this book and voluntarily leave my honest opinion of it here.

A Fantastic Read - RECOMMENDED!!!!

TALK ABOUT HOT UNDER THE COLLAR!!!
Ok guys. We know I'm not one to mince words or backdown from a challenge. I have read more books than I can count and while M/M or F/F isn't my norm, I'm always up for a good read. And this one does not disappoint. Conners and Rodgers broke the mold with this one. It has all the drama, insecurities, hardships and coming to terms with whats important in ones lives. This read hits the ground running. A fantastic page turner that captivates from the start and holds it until the very last word. A rollercoaster ride of emotions and unexpected surprises that just kept coming. All the heartache, rage, fear and confusion are just a few of the things we deal with and come out the other side more understanding and compassionate. The characters and scenes were realistic, intriguing and complex with an undeniable chemistry that burns hot between the two main characters. The scenes were so vividly detailed and descriptive it gives the illusion you're part of storyline. Following the characters along mesmerized as their personalities blossomed and grew to new heights. Twists, turns and unexpected surprises that kept my attention focused throughout this engrossing tale. These guys share a bond so deep and real you feel it flowing from the pages. Truly an awesome read. Phenomenal job guys bringing this read together beautifully. Thanks for sharing this little gem with us.

This was the first time I've read from this author,,,,

Dr. Lance Wood works at Piñon Physical Therapy as a Dr of PT,,,,, He has blonde hair and blue eyes,,,, his clinic is on an Airforce Base,,,, he has a sister named Mae and he is an openly gay man,,,, his best friend is named Whitney and she was a physical therapist who worked under Lance, but she left to get married,,,, the clinic has had some bad press over a Dr. Davis and a man named Harlow Bradford, who also happens to be Whitney's husband,,,,

Brad Trent is an ex Navy SEAL who has a knee injury from a helicopter crash while he was over seas where he was a Lieutenant he has black hair and brown eyes,,,, he is immediately attracted to Dr. Wood, but Brad is still a closeted gay man, who still is not sure if he's really attracted to men,,,, but after he sees Lance, he wants to be a better man,,,, and that includes to stop drinking to get drunk and forget, and his temper needs to be gone,,,,,

Brad gets drunk and finds his way back to the clinic where Lance is still closing up and Brad has been drinking and is in a very bad mood,,,, Lance doesn't know what to do with him, so he takes him home,,,, puts him on his couch,,,, and things get better from there for both men,,,, one way or another,,,, Go to your favorite platform and check this book out,,,, it was a good read, with some steamy scenes between the men,,, I would totally recommend this book to anyone,,,,,

I have read many stories by Juliana Conners and enjoyed them all, but this is the first book I've read by Bruce Rodgers. They make a great writing duo. Broken is a spin-off from Juliana Conners' series, The Bradford Brothers. You don't have to have read the series first but there are references to events and characters from the series that show up in this book.

I loved Lance and Brad! They were both down to earth and relatable characters that were great together. They had an instant attraction and sizzling chemistry. The inner dialogue of these two men, who had not dated in a long time (or ever), as there were preparing for their dates was fun to read.

After reading so many romance novels where miscommunication is a big reason it takes the couple so long to get on a path to HEA, Lance and Brad were a refreshing change. Instead of stewing over things, coming up with worst case scenarios, assuming they know what the other is thinking, and eventually trying to end things without explanation these guys actually talk to each other. They let the other know what they're thinking/feeling and they ask questions. Like I said, it was a nice change from what I'm used to reading where I want to throttle the characters sometimes. lol
*I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*

This is my first M/M book. It was recommended to me by Juliana Conners. She said she had reached out to Bruce Rodgers for help with this type of book since it was not her usual forte. I am so glad that she did. It was so well written about the struggles people face from being injured and trying to hide who they really are and to learn to trust. It was heartwarming and tastefully written. This was my first M/M book but it will not be my last. I highly recommend you read this book even if you are not sure about it being a M/M it is so worth the read. If you have read the other Bradford books you will already know and love Lance so it will be easy for you to pick up this book and continue with the story.

Dr. Lance Woods who was introduced in Just Pretend. He is a physical therapist working with military men and woman. Brad is a former Navy Seal and was injured in the same accident as the Bradford brothers. Brad is a new patient at the rehab facility that Lance runs. They have an instant
attraction towards one another. But there is a problem Lance an out and proud gay man, while Brad is still in the closet with everyone but the men he takes home.

Brad struggles with coming out and being who he truly is, but Lance is there to help him along the way. It is such a great love story, you will be hooked from the very beginning.

This story re-introduces Dr. Lance Wood who you met if you have read “Just Pretend”. It starts with Lance still re-grouping after the Dr. Davis scandal and losing Whitney as his best therapist. In the midst of grappling with the added workload and stress, Lance meets his new patient, Brad Trent. The two feel an immediate connection, but Lance has concerns about how appearances might affect the clinic since they have a doctor/patient relationship, and Brad is struggling with the fact he has not yet come out and has avoided any lasting relationships because of it.

The story develops over the course of Lance and Brad’s emerging feelings for each other and how they learn to cope with both their internal and external conflicts. This is an enjoyable read with fairly easy flow and interesting characters. However, this is more of a narrative driven story line. For those (such as I) who prefer more of a dialogue driven story, you may not find it as enjoyable, but I still recommend you give it a try. The story is entertaining and appealing.

3.5 stars

My review only applied to the main story, Broken, and not to any bonus content. I got my copy while it was free on Amazon.

Although this story is part of the Bradford Brothers series, it can be read as a stand-alone (though I feel reading Just Pretend would fill in some of the background).

Although I did really like both Lance and Brad (and they made a good couple), I felt like too many of the issues/conflicts were resolved too quickly and easily. I feel like Brad went from major anger issues to just fine after one conversation, there needed to be a bit more transition actually on the page to explain his change. Some of the sex scenes came across as a bit too mechanical or wordy at times, but there was plenty of hot moments to help balance it out. Even with some of the issues, there were plenty of moments that had me invested in the story.

I LOVED this book! Juliana Conners and Bruce Rodgers teamed up to give us Lance's story from the Bradbury Brothers series and I am SO glad they did! It was exciting to see Lance find his forever love, even if it was frought with pitfalls. Not only does he find himself a SEAL, but one that isn't out. Obviously that can cause an issue for the very much out Lance. These two find a way to make it work for them and learn each other. It was a truly beautiful, and sexy, story of finding yourself, whoever that turns out to be. Must read! Just an FYI, in case you didn't realize from the review :), this is a M/M story. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Broken

A totally different book genre. First book about a gay couple. One of them therapist Lance, who embraces who he is, and Brad his patient, former Navy Seal, recovering from helicopter crash which injured his knee. He is struggling to come out. Lance works with him, there’s a mutual attraction, they act on that attraction, and then the book seemed to be mostly gay sex scenes. I was expecting it to be a gradual coming together. It just seemed rushed. I expected more of Brads struggles with coming out. It seemed to me once he and Lance started having sex, his problem was miraculously cured. I’m glad they had a happy ending. Gave it a three star rating because there were many grammatical errors. It was a bit of a letdown. I will be reading Whitney and Harlow’s story. And it would be nice for Carl and Mae to have their own stories. Who was woman Carl showed up with at their engagement party?

Well, that was a great life/love story with all the elements needed to make me want to read more from this author. Loved the main characters growth, but especially the absence of extra, unnecessary drama. Loved the chemistry between all the characters! As this was my first novel from this author, I wish there was more focus on the main story and less on the secondary characters, but it does not take away from the quality of this book, far from it. Instead, it intrigued me. Now, I'm looking forward to getting to know these characters and their stories. Thank you for sharing this story with us. The day I feel like reading a HEA story that feels like a nice summer breeze on a hot day (not that this book isn't hot! I loved the ... balanced power of hotness between our two characters!) I will be sure to find this book on my Kindle and enjoy the ride all over again.

Meh ...

Broken is about a physical therapist, Lance, who helps out an injured Navy Seal, Brad.

In this competitive ebook world, I don’t understand how or why an author wouldn’t have their work edited. I’m not a fan of first-person present as it is, then add in all the sentence fragments, lack of contractions used for most of the pro-nouns, and well, just plain ol’ strangeness of a storyline going nowhere, and the result is not a good one.

Both the characters are likable enough, but there was absolutely no depth to their story. I can see that I’m in the minority here, but honestly, I’m wondering if I’ve read the same book as all of those four and five-star reviews ~

Broken is a stand-alone and part of the Bradford Brothers Series.

This is a well written book about friendship, secrets and desires. This is the first M/M romance I have ever read. The way these to amazing authors have put this book together is perfect. The story pulled me in from the first page and didn't let me go until the end. The book is easily read in one sitting.
This book is part of The Bradford brothers series, all the books in the series are standalone books but you get to meet The Bradford brothers and their friends. I highly recommend the whole series, including this book. This was my first book by Bruce Rodgers but it is definitely not the last one.
I voluntairly reviewed an ARC of this book.

Wow!! I LOVE that Lance gets a story!! Brad is his latest SEAL patient, but aside from the angry feelings he is used to getting from his patients, Lance didn't expect to feel and instant attraction to him. Brad is attracted to Lance, but in his usual way he comes off as gruff and angry. Brad is used to one night stands, and doesn't know what to make of his feelings for Lance. Once his PT starts to go well, he takes a chance on asking Lance out. Their romance starts out slow, hot and sexy, but slow. Their story is filled with conflicted feelings, guilt, fear but has so much love and passion is will make your heart swoon!! This is the perfect addition to Bradford Bother series!!

Juicy! I've volunteered to review this book for the author. This is my first time reading one of Bruce Rodgers books. This story is about Lance and Brad. Lance is a doctor at the physical therapy rehab. Brad is an ex-SEAL, then Brad was injure in a helicopter crash. What a fantastic page turner that captivates from the start and holds it until the very last word. A roller-coaster ride of emotions and unexpected surprises that just kept coming. The characters and scenes were realistic, intriguing and complex with an undeniable chemistry that burns hot. After that you could use a really COLD shower!! Keep up the great job! I will be definitely going back and reading more from Bruce Rodgers.

If I was asked to describe this book with one word, it would be "real". The authors did a great job with that in this book. You can feel their up and down emotions - their happiness, joy, and excitement, as well as their nervousness, fear, and anger. You feel like you are right there experiencing their life with them. It was a definite page turner, that grabs you throughout it. The chemistry between Lance and Brad is very hot, but there are also so many other things going on with them, as well. It is a M/M book, and I highly recommend this book to you if you like these types of books, or if you are not sure, and want to try it.

Don't have much to say about this one. After Brad was an immediate a--hole, even becoming physically violent, upon he and Lance's very first time meeting, I was no longer interested in a story or a relationship with the 2 of them. I only forced myself to finish because this was my 2nd time trying to read it. Brad was an ass, Lance came off as being both desperate but patronizing at the same time. Mae, Lance's sister, was too pushy and she needed less free time; she pestered Lance the way a 6yo would her teenage sibling. Lot of typos, sex was forgettable, story line was clunky and dull. That's why it took so long for me to finish it.

This was an okay MM 👬romance read for me, but it lacked a little something and my interest flagged a bit near the end. I guess I like a bit more drama and the two MCs seemed to have a pretty rapid and worry-free connection after just a slight wobble or two. This one had plenty of steam, particularly in the second half, and highlights the difficulties of coming out gay, especially for a man in the military.

I do usually not read MM stories but this book surprised me. It is not at all what I expected. It is a heartwarming story about two men falling for each other. A therapist and a veteran. Amazing chemistry. Devine passion. Well described characters that are likeable and develops nicely through the story.
I was amazed by the writing style and the amount of heart the authors has written into the story. It is not only about the steamy hot scenes but has a lot of depth in it too.
Absolutely a book that I will recommend to others.

WOW! Such a well written romance! And the portrayal of the issues that injured military personnel deal with and the people that deal with them is very good.

I've not read a M/M romance before, but I suggest you give this one a go for a first one. And even if you HAVE read some before, you won't regret it! The thing is, as you get absorbed in the story, you almost forget it's M/M and can easily put yourself (if female!) in either character.

It's a fabulous addition to the Bradford Brothers universe. GO ON! You know you want to!!!

IT TAKES A REAL MAN TO ACCEPT WHO HE IS

This book is a great masterpiece to tie the two characters together, Lance and Brad, to make a great example of opposites attracting. Juliana and Bruce do a great job of getting Bruce and Lance’s feelings and emotions to the point where the reader feels as if he is in the room with them. They are opposite in looks - one fair, one dark; attitudes – one mellow, one angry; self-comfort – one closeted, one out of the closet. As a heterosexual, I feel that this was a great story.

**This author STUFFED this book for KU**
This book was terrible. The MC's were awful and annoying. This was another example of a M/F writer trying to write a M/M story and failed. I should learn my lesson by now and just stop reading these authors unless I KNOW for a fact that they write really good M/M stories.
Also...I was curious as to why I was on Chapter 27 and only at 11% completion. I looked forward a bit and realized that this author stuffed their book for KU. I stopped reading immediately.
I'll never read this author again.

An enjoyable M/M romance read!

An enjoyable M/M romance read that was easy to read and didn’t skimp on the heat level. Lance and Brad have great chemistry and the secondary characters introduced was a joy to read. A well written storyline with a sensitively subject and still was hot and sexy to read. One click this newest release that you won’t be able to put down until the end.

Coming out to love

This was a great story about overcoming obstacles and finding true love. Brad needed physical therapy for a knee injury and Lance is the doctor to help him walk again. Neither expected to find passion and love. But will Brad come out of the closet and continue the relationship with Lance? Or will they ex navy seal stay hidden and alone? With great characters and a heartwarming storyline this book was a great read.

I really enjoyed this powerfully emotional M/M romance. An intense attraction and steamy chemistry works hard to draw Lance and Brad together. However, many things stand in their way including the doctor/patient relationship they share, and Brad's struggle to accept who he is and what he wants. At its heart this is simply a beautiful romance about opening your heart, embracing yourself, and being willing to risk everything for love. A wonderful read.

Lance is a workaholic who hasn't had time for dating. Brad was a SEAL who is in the closet. Their attraction is instant, but both are unsure. Will Lance take the chance despite Brad being his patient? Will Brad be ready to show everyone who he really is?

Loved these two! I loved how Lance wasn't willing to be a secret and stood up for himself. I loved how Brad slowly came into who he was meant to be. I thought that both characters definitely complimented each other! Great read!

This was my first time reading a M/M romance and I found this book by Juliana Conners and Bruce Rodgers to be well written and I really enjoyed the read. The main characters Lance and Brad have a chance meeting that starts off on the wrong foot. I loved how the story evolved and unfolded giving the reader a glimpse of something new and sensual. The trust gained, the hurts, healed and the genuine emotional connection between them was simply beautiful. Definitely worth reading👌~ Angie❤️

I enjoyed this story about two men who were drawn to each other despite their roles. Lance had me rooting for him to cross certain lines, and I loved how he followed his heart. Brad was more hesitant and waffled almost too much for me, but as he figured out what was important, I changed my mind. The realistic feel to their world made it a good read.

This was a freebie I found, and this is my unsolicited review.
