Dirty Deeds

Rate this book
Growing up, we hated each other.
Now, we’re f**kin’ roommates for the summer.

ALY
It’s been twelve years since I’ve seen him, but loathing Emmett Hoult still runs in my blood. Thanks to the hell he wreaked on my teenaged life, I’ve avoided the prick like the plague. But desperate times call for desperate measures, and after a fire destroys my apartment during the most important week of my life, I’m suddenly as desperate as they come.

Hence the roommate situation.

It’s his summer home. His family said he wouldn’t be around. They said I’d never run into him.

But oh, did I run into Emmett Hoult.

And in the worst way possible.

EMMETT
I didn't expect to see her ever again, let alone the way that I did.

But now that she's back in my life, I'm not screwing things up. She still hates me -- I know that -- but it won't stop me from chasing the only two goals I've made for this summer.

Making things right.

And making her mine.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! Dirty Deeds (stand-alone). For a second chance at happiness Emmett & Alyson must sort through a rocky past, sexual tension & betrayal!

“I stared at his hard cock hanging heavily between his muscled thighs. He was big – fucking huge – and from root to tip he was so thick and smooth I just wanted to reach out and touch it.”

Dirty Deeds (stand-alone) opens up to former friends, hotelier and investor Emmett Hoult, E and café owner Alyson Stanton, Stanton crossing paths after ten years apart. Sexual tension galore and a bit of love-hate when they discover they will be sharing a house for the summer. Together they must work through painful pasts, misunderstandings, secrets, failures and unresolved emotions.

Five words to describe Emmett Hoult, E: Charismatic, chivalrous, patient, nurturing and determined.

Five words to describe Alyson Stanton, Stanton: Stubborn, focused, proud, lost and reflective.

Dirty Deeds, told from dual POVs, is a compelling, sexy and sweet second chance romance with betrayal and secrets complicated by lots of steamy sex and confused feelings. A story of healing old wounds; truths and understanding through the power of forgiveness and love.

Dirty Deeds is a second chance romance revolving around two characters that grew up together as rivals and friends, Emmett and Aly. They have a falling out in high school that leads to them not seeing each other for a decade. When the book opens, we find out that Aly's apartment has been destroyed in a fire. Since their families are still friends, Emmett's mom offers his Hampton's house to her as a housing solution for the summer. He's supposed to be away during that time, and as much as Aly would rather not do it, she doesn't have any other options.

Aly has trouble sleeping, and only two things fix the problem, dancing and sex. Her best friend and business partner, Evie, makes her come out for a night of both. She humors her, but doesn't intend on hooking up with anyone until she runs into a guy so hot she can't say no. It's not until they go back to his house/her temporary one that she realizes she is moments away from sleeping with her childhood nemesis, Emmett Hoult.

Aly immediately regrets everything that happened, but she still needs a place to stay. Emmett insists she doesn't have to leave, and that they can live together for the summer and keep it totally platonic. I don't have to tell you that things don't exactly work out that way.

I've loved every book I've ever read by Stella Rhys, and this one was no exception! The writing is phenomenal, and I was drawn into the story immediately. There was never a time when I wanted to put it down. The characters are lovable, and the chemistry between them is off the charts. You can literally feel the connection between them.

The steamy scenes had to be my absolute favorite part though. I'm telling you, this woman writes steam like no other. I can't even adequately explain how amazing she is at it. Her makeout scenes are hotter than some full on sex scenes I've read. I'm not exaggerating in any way. She should teach a fucking class or something! Just the banter between Emmett and Aly will have you fanning yourself!

 photo giphy-129_zpsxzlxkfrd.gif

Before I conclude my review, I want to say a little something about the hero. Ladies, Emmett's definite book boyfriend material! He's selfless, caring, driven, sweet, protective, hot, loyal, charming, and well endowed. What more could a girl ask for? Did I mention he's a family man, too? Seeing him get excited over his sister in law's pregancy was so fucking adorable that I wanted to reach in the book and squeeze him to death. As sweet as he is, he can be dirty, too. It's a perfect ovary exploding combination!

If you've read any of this author's work and enjoyed it, don't hesitate to pick up this one! If you haven't read anything by Stella Rhys, rectify that immediately! She is one of my unicorn authors. When I pick up one of her books, I know without a shadow of doubt that I'm going to love it. Give her a try, and I'm sure you'll be singing her praises, too.

Um hi. I'm still trying to catch my breath after all the amazingness that I just read. I swear Stella Rhys' books are like gifts and how fitting is it that I finished it on Christmas?! This book was absolutely EVERYTHING. I pretty much stalk this woman's social media accounts for information on when her next book will hit my kindle because she is legit my kindle crack peddler. Good Lord! Emmett Hoult was FANTASTIC!!

Dirty Deeds is the third standalone in the Irresistible series and was an absolute joy to read. First let's just talk about how incredible this man is. I loved his brother Julian with a passion but honestly, Emmett left me stuttering in a heap. He was just so ridiculously hot I could not get enough of him. And the sexytimes. Good God. Just as an FYI, THIS AUTHOR WILL DESTROY YOUR KINDLE. It will smoke and singe and you will pretty much die because noone writes sexytimes like her. She.Kills.It.

Like in all of this author's novels, she completely blew me away. Emmett and Aly were everything you could want in a couple. Their banter and chemistry were FIRE and the storyline addicting. But in all honesty they were on another level. And in complete Stella Rhys fashion, she completely mindf*s you. Yep I said it. She is amazing and her novels are gripping and consuming, but at first glance..she makes you think they will be easy, breezy, feel good novels when in actuality there are deeper, more emotionally complex issues involved. Because before you know it you are reading one of the hottest love scenes of your life but then ten minutes later your mind is completly blown because she totally threw the world's most glorious curve ball and the storyline evolved.

At first glance you can see that this is an enemies to lovers romance. But then you keep reading and see how much more it is. I can keep gushing and fangirling but Real Talk - this author has a gift and we are truly blessed to benefit from it. I have read all her novels to date and honestly feel like she gets better each and every time. Stella Rhys - Girl You need to keep writing cuz I am addicted! Bravo! 5 (million!) stars! ~Ratula <3

Aly didn't see Emmett the same way everyone else did, after growing up forced into spending so much time with him.
When the world looked at Emmett, they saw confident, devilish, sexy. I saw cocky, spoiled, arrogant.

I did have a little issue with this story at the beginning. Say you grow up with someone and say you know them sooooooo well, wouldn't you recognise them even after 10yrs?? I know I would, so that little twist had me like:

 photo seriously_zpsoqtwnts2.gif

Okay so apart from that part which I was able to get past, the rest of the story was good. I enjoyed the side characters, Drew and Evie who are Aly and Emmetts best friends were funny and I may be secretly hoping for a story staring them.

There was splashes of drama but both Aly and Emmett seem to be very understanding and everything is sorted almost instantly, well except that last little bump which I thought Aly took the wrong way.

One thing for sure is that these two are HOT together, I mean that change room scene was smokin'!!!!

 photo alyandemmettchangeroom_zpscdabbkjz.gif

So this was a sort of a cross enemies to lovers/second chance trope but only really one sided enemies if that makes sense. I recommend this book to lovers of either of those tropes.

This was a nice love story with a few bumps along the way to finding happiness.

"All the love and approval I spent my whole life chasing-I have that with you."

Dirty Deeds is a smoking hot second chance contemporary romance. Although it can be read as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the entire Irresistible Series in order to understand the idiosyncrasies of this world. Emmett Hoult is used to getting everything he's ever wanted except the one thing he has no chances of ever winning back. His best friend and lost love Aly Stanton left his life years ago and now that she is back in his grasp he will do whatever it takes to win her back and keep her forever.

description
"It was intimacy like I'd never felt before."
Aly has been working hard to launch her new restaurant in the Hamptons. She managed to land free rent for the summer by staying at the home of her estranged family friend Emmett Hoult. Emmett and Aly grew up together and were the best of friends but one horrible incident tore them apart. When Emmett and Aly are reunited in the most surprising ways, Aly knows she must keep things platonic. But when passion and chemistry enter the mix, Aly and Emmett are destined to find they are meant to be together in every possible way! But in order to find peace together, they must move past the past hurts and heartbreak that exist between the two.

description
"It was like my body knew that with her, I didn't need to fake anything. That I could just relax."
Told in dual POV, Dirty Deeds offers a perfect blend of passion, romance, and friendship. The history that exists between the two main characters only strengthens their relationship and gives them a beautiful foundation for their romance to flourish. I adored the relationships between the main characters and the supporting characters. The loyalty and love that exists enhance the emotions that exude from every page. Although certain elements of the plot were somewhat predictable, the way in which Aly and Emmett work through the challenges only made me love them both even more. The passion is smoking hot and combined with the intense love that exists between the characters made every moment of this read unforgettable.

Overall, Dirty Deeds is an absolutely beautiful second chance contemporary romance! With complex characters and a heartwarming plot, Emmett and Aly are sure to please. Stella Rhys has become one of my go-to authors with her smoking hot heroes and spunky heroines, her writing always leaves me smiling and wanting more!

DIRTY DEEDS: Is a standalone contemporary romance novel by new to me author Stella Rhys. Spoken in ‘Dual Perspectives’

In this we meet childhood rivals Aly and Emmet even though it’s been twelve years since their last encounter feelings are still running raw.

Most of Aly’s life was spent trying to one up Emmett in everything she did to get into the good graces with their parents whom were as close as two families could be.

But when a fire ravashes through Ally’s apartment building she has nowhere to go, she’s informed that Emmet’s beach house is unoccupied and he’s elsewhere she has no other choice but to stay there. Assuming that the coast is clear and she would not be laying eyes him in the near future is not the case.

Because that same night

A near hook up with a bare chested stranger has her counting her blessings when he takes her to his house where she is apparently staying has her flustered when the truth dawns on her that it’s none other than Emmett himself in the flesh. Neither recognised the other.

Now they are roommates!! And all bets are off!!

I'm going to leave my review here because to fully fall in love with Emmet like I do you have to read this book!! He's what all us girls seek with our fictional characters, dreamy, dirty, sexy when he wants something he fights for it.

Their undeniable attraction sizzles off the pages, whilst Ally tries her damndest to ignore it Emmett is not letting her slip through his fingers again. From start to finish this author had me hooked, I loved the ups and downs of these two, the sex scenes sizzled, definitely will be seeking more books by this author in the future.

Rating
4 ‘friends to secret pining to enemies to friends to lovers’ 🌟

Song Recommendation
The song Tera Hone Laga Hoon is an amazing fit to Aly and Emmett’s story. The English translation is included in the video linked.

Review
Aly Stanton and Emmett Hoult were friends when they were younger, but only on the weekends when they were forced to spend time together because their parents were best friends. Rest of the time, Aly wasn’t a big fan of Emmett because she felt insecure in front of him especially when her father would boast Emmett’s accomplishments in front of her all the while brushing aside her accomplishments.

“I… did I tell you where I lived?”
“No…Why?”
“Because this is where I live…At least for this summer.”
“Strange, because this is my house. I bought it three years ago.”
My stomach twisted into a vicious knot as I made the connection just a second before he did. Fuck. Me.
…I’d just gone home with Emmett fucking Hoult.

Fast forward few years after graduating high school, Aly needs a place to stay and Emmett’s mother happily instructs Aly to stay at Emmett’s summer house since he is apparently not going to be there. Well, Emmett lied to his mother about his whereabouts and didn’t know Aly was going to be staying at his summer house. The way that these two find out about their summer living arrangement with each other was hot and hilarious!! It includes them meeting as strangers at a club and getting frisky at the club and in the car only to find out that their destination is the same house.

“It’s actually painful how fucking beautiful you are”
“Why does it look like zipping me up takes every ounce of your strength?”
“Because that’s exactly what it does when all I ever want is you naked.”

I am convinced that Stella Rhys can write a sexy and light banter like no one’s business. The dialogues and the writing in her books are always on point and Dirty Deeds was no different. The chemistry between Emmett and Aly was scorching and Emmett’s dirty talk had me fanning myself! I didn’t give this book 5 stars because I am a HUGE enemies to lovers fanatic and I just don’t consider this book to be a strong enemies to lovers romance even though it is made out to be one. Though, overall, I loved reading about Aly and Emmett’s story and it was a great addition to this series. I would highly recommend reading this book if you are looking for light contemporary read with amazing and strong witty writing and fiery banters between MCs!

Overall Opinion: I'm a little torn on how to rate this one tbh. I honestly didn't make the connection that I had read another book in this series (Bad Boss) until about halfway into this one, but I remember liking Emmett from that book -- so it wasn't necessarily a bad thing! I'm just not sure I really liked the h that much in this. She had a rough upbringing for sure, but I didn't like her attitude or how she handled things when the big reveals happened. I really enjoyed Emmett, so I think that made it harder to take her negative behavior toward him at times. I also don't get how they didn't recognize each other for the ONS! I get that it'd been years since seeing each other, but they've known each other since they were small kids! I'm also frustrated with the big conflict being resolved super easily and then being directly put into their HEA. In looking back at my review for the other book, it seems like this might be a trend for this author...but it just isn't my preference.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Aly and Emmett's story. They've known each other since they were young children because their fathers were best friends, but they had a kind of love hate relationship going on. The competition comes to a head and after a big event in their junior year of high school they are separated. Many years later they are shocked to find that the ONS that they were about to have is with each other, and that Aly is going to be roommates with Emmett in his Hamptons home for the summer. The fight the attraction for a while and become friends of a sort, but eventually they give in and start a relationship. There are some big secrets revealed, some family drama, and some sexy times...and they get a HEA ending.

POV: This alternated between Aly and Emmett's POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the abrupt ending. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well otherwise.

Instalove:No, but some residual feelings were there when the story begins.

H rating: 4.5 stars. Emmett. I really liked him! He was a little too good for the h imo. I remember liking him in the other book I read in this series too, and I especially like how he takes care of his family.

h rating: 2.5 stars. Aly. She was a little less than okay for me. I felt like she didn't fully deserve the H at times because of her grudges and behavior.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW/OM drama: Not really

Sex scene with OW or OM: No

Cheating: No

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This had a cute epilogue with what I would call a HEA ending . I did feel like he ending was way too abrupt though, as we get the epilogue directly after their conflict is resolved. I would've liked more time in between that resolution and the HEA.

Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers

“Oh, come on, Aly,” she frowned, patting my knee. “It’s going to be fine. I’m sure that you two can coexist platonically under one roof . And if for some reason, you fall out of the shower one day and land on his cock, that won’t be the worst thing in the world, right?”

Talk about a smokin’ hot second chance romance. These two had book chemistry to spare and I loved every minute of it.

Despite the fact Aly Stanton and Emmett Hoult grew up together, the two spent most of that time antagonizing each other, with Emmett emerging as the victor more often than not. By the time they reached high school, Aly resigned herself to the fact she would never beat Emmett at his own game and gave up trying. When Emmett’s actions lead to Aly being sent away for her last year of high school, he has no idea he’ll be forced to wait twelve years to see her again.

Being forced to leave her family at such a young age helped to make Aly into the hard working and determined woman she is today. With her family restaurant up and running again, she’s finally achieving the success she’s dreamed of. Her lack of any social media presence means she’s been able to keep Emmett out of sight and out of mind.

Until the day Aly needs a place to stay and Emmett’s mother offers her the use of Emmett’s summer home. You know, ‘cause he’ll be gone all summer. I think you see where this is going.

After last night, I could barely go two seconds without thinking about her. And since losing her the first time was hard enough, there was no way in hell I was letting it happen again.

From the moment Aly and Emmett enter each other’s orbit as adults, the heat between the two is palpable and sizzling in its intensity. The bathroom club scene and subsequent car ride nearly incinerated my kindle. I was expecting an over the top tale of two rivals going at it again after more than a decade spent apart, but luckily that’s not at all what I got. Aly may have spent the separation trying her damndest to put Emmett out of her mind, but the feelings he always had for Alay never wavered. When he finally got her back in his life, there was no chance he was letting her get away.

“And trust me, I’ll never regret what I did that day, but I’ll always regret the fact that I lost you after. I missed you so fucking much, Aly. I had no idea what you meant to me until you were gone.”

Aly and Emmett’s story took some twists and turns but luckily I never felt like Ms.Rhys played the cliche card. You know those books where a super huge, earth shattering secret hangs over the entire story and all of the drama could have been cleared up with one decent discussion?

Yeah, this isn’t that book. And thank gawd for that.

Aly and Emmett have a lot of reconciling to do when they finally reconnect but I never felt like the dramatic build up was over the top or unwarranted. Secrets come out and feelings are bruised, but the way it’s done totally worked for me.

While this can be read as a standalone, I’ve enjoyed this series in its entirety. I’m not sure if Ms. Rhys plans to add another book to the series but my vote’s for Evie, Aly’s kickass best friend who’s desperately in need of a new relationship. As for Emmett and Aly, the epilogue provided at the end gives us a brief glimpse into their future that had me wanting more. Fingers crossed we get more of this awesome duo in future books.

It’s been four years since I read a few books of this series and being in the mood for romance for the first time in years, I decided to make my way back to it. I remember really enjoying books 2, 5, and 6 (yes, I’m reading them out of order) back then so I was curious to see how present me would feel. Present me appreciated the lack of drama and that the obligatory relationship complication was relatable and well-handled. What I couldn’t quite get behind was that Aly and Emmett initially hook up without recognizing each other. I’m sorry but I don’t buy that, even if it’s been twelve years since they last saw each other. Apart from that, it was a quick, enjoyable, angst-free read with a bit too much sex I had to skim. Only one book remaining in this series for me; I hope it’s a good one. I’m also sorely tempted to re-read the other books just to see how they hold up now. We’ll see.

Other books in the Irresistible series:
1. Sweet Spot ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
2. Bad Boss ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
3. Dirty Deeds ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
4. Hothead TBD
5. Now or Never ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So the H bullied the h since they were child. Now they are adults and haven't seen each other for a long period.
After god knows how many years, the h is moving to the H's "Enormous Luxurious House", as her own apartment caught fire. So the hero's mother suggest her to live at the H's house as he is hardly their. He is too busy in his other luxurious and rich lifestyle. The h's friend is helping her move and as usual telling her to get "Laid". She wants her to fuck someone with "8" packs.
So the girls hit the bar. And yes the h is wearing a Neon Polka dot bra, drawing attention on her. Blah blah. She soon finds an 8 pack guy and is ready for a one night stand. They decide to fuck each other at the guys place. But when the guy's driver parks his car at her 'temporary' home, the h is confused. So it turns out that the guy is actually the H who bullied her and its his home. Ugh..
So the next day they decide to maintain a platonic relationship. Yes because the h is basically a doormat. And she has no self respect that she is staying at someone's place who practically tortured her before.
Both have feelings for each other but try to maintain distance. Feelings in the sense that they are practically horny about each other. Once the h went at the H's room without knocking and caught him naked, where she couldn't take eyes off his dick. Then again she gets caught watching porn... Such situations keep happening.
So basically if you like this horn-fest then go for this book. And yes if you like a book were the h's embarrassment is cool then definitely read this.
I'm done.

Now that is dirty! I miss Stla Rhys' works. Her filthy dirty dirty naughty romance story. I remember Bad Boss very fondly. In Dirty Deeds, she done it again.

The story is not boring. But it is fun. The steamy is just as promised. Filthh dirty and naughty. Very graphic and yet not gross nor boring.

I do love Emmet. His devotion toward his mother is unwavering. He being adult when he just turned 18 years old is brave. I love how his love toward Ally build. He is such a big hearted man.

Their first encounteres in the toilet was funny.

Overall I do enjoy this book very much.

"As fas as I was concerned, we had always been a love-hate kind of thing."

Here I sit, again, in love with a fictional character! Emmett is mine, ladies! I’ve claimed him. And don't even get me started on this beautiful cover! It's PERFECTION!

Dirty Deeds is exactly what I wanted and needed at the time. Stella Rhys does steamy so well and what makes this read even better is the backstory for both characters. It really helped to cement their bond and my love for them. Plus there’s something for everyone. If you love enemies to lover, friends to lovers, second chance, or just a great steamy read, this one is for YOU!

Where this book really excels is the shared history these two have in common. Emmett and Aly have very strong ties to one another. There’s so much more between them than just a mutual attraction. They truly know and understand one another. The story is amazing. The characters are great. And, there attraction is smoldering!

It was so great to see these characters through each other’s eyes and their beliefs of what actually occurred between them in the past. I particularly loved Emmett’s determination and feelings for Aly.

""...since losing her the first time was hard enough, there was no way in hell I was letting it happen again."

Gah! I adore him.

Another amazing read from Stella Rhys! I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.
I enjoyed it immensely and cannot wait for more! Recommended.

Holy pecs, batman.
I swallowed hard as my gaze travelled across the stranger’s shoulders down to broad chest and killer six.....no. Wait
My shameless eyes narrowed as they counted every deep-cut section of his eeeight-paaack!
In my head, I yelled it like Oprah.

It’s no surprise that I’m completely in love with series with each book I read. I just keep liking it more and more. I have come to expect light, funny, emotional, steamy read from this amazing author and she delivers it every time. Her stories keeps me glued to the pages, they are real and so relatable. The drama is just the perfect amount.

Meeting Emmett in the previous books, you’ll see that he’s a funny, laid-back, happy go lucky person without a care in the world. But that’s not the case, there’s more to him and with each chapter, you see all his layers come off and understand him better. You’ll find he’s a passionate, caring, helpful person and carries a lot of burden too. He’s chemistry was instant with Aly.

After last night, I could barely go two seconds without thinking about her.
And since losing her for the first time was hard enough, there was no way in hell I was letting it happen again.

I loved Aly. She was strong and loving. I loved how dedicated she was to her business. She has grown up along side Emmett since their families have always been close. They spent their childhood together and were always pulling pranks on each other. She hated him since he was the popular one and people wanted to be friends with her just to get close to him. But it went deeper than that.

You could see the push and pull between them. There was so much attraction and heat. There was many misunderstanding and they avoided talking about it as much as possible but it was like an elephant in the room. It lead to lots of angst which I enjoyed. It was hot watching them give into their attraction and when they finally talked it out, they both realised their mistakes. I could understand where Aly was coming from and how it must’ve hurt all these years. I was proud that she realised it wasn’t Emmett’s fault and appreciated the man he was today.

”yeah, dude,” he eyed me. “It totally did.”
I squinted. Crap. One look at the vaguely smug expression on his face, and just like that, I knew I’d fucked up. I’d overdone it with the word “dude” and Emmett could see right through it. He was totally mocking me for it.
Dammit, Aly.

It was beautiful how they both helped each other heal and didn’t let things separate them. They trusted the love they had for each other. I especially loved the epilogue in this one. They made a good happy family and I adored their dog ozzy. The author writes them really well in all the books. I love reading them.

My favourite couple is Stella and Julian still so far. 😍 the next book has so much potential and I can’t wait to dive in. Definitely wanna watch Drew meet his match and hopefully it has lots of angst.

If you guys are looking for a book which will leave you all gooey and with a constant smile on your face and so many steamy moments, then read this one soon. Go check this author out people. ♥️

★ 3 stars!!! ★

4.5 stars only because nothing resolved or had any final closure with Aly's dad. He sucks.

I love these audios so much that I can't wait to dive into the next book (whenever it comes available).

Dirty Deeds is the third installment of the Irresistible series. In it, you will meet Aly and Emmett. Now if you've read or listened to the previous books you would've already heard or met Emmett and you may or may not have been mystified by him. I was so freaking pumped for this book it was kind of awkward. Knowing about the beef that went on in his family was intriguing enough but I honestly wanted to know about the deep dark shit between him and Aly.

Now I loved both of these characters and their story. However, I did feel pretty bad for them too. Aly only wanted her dad's approval and love - yet, she never really got it. He was a straight up asshole who didn't deserve her for a daughter. Then there's the whole thing that her and his family just let him put her down constantly. I honestly wanted to punch him in the nutsack repeatedly for how he treated her. Thank god, Emmett finally opened his eyes and said something about it.

Their romance, and chemistry, was amazing. The smut was on fire between these two that the ending was predictable enough. I still ended up enjoying the shit out of their romantic relationship "drama" and predictability though. The ending was very cute too - so I can't complain.

Overall, I'm so freaking happy that I started this series so freaking randomly. I have no idea when the next book will be out or who it is about (right now) but I still can't wait to dive into it.

Loved this one! Probably the hottest book I have read in a while, I'll give it to the author, she knows how to write a hell of a steamy scene - the foreplay alone is enough to make this story set your kindle on fire.

Friends to lovers, and a second chance romance to boot. Thoroughly enjoyed it and I loved both Emmett and Aly as characters.

There was a lot of hype with this book so I was looking forward to delving in. I felt sorry for Aly, but Emmett was a total whore. He purposefully slept with all her friends in high school including her best friend. Of course they weren't together then, but honestly it goes to support the kind of person he is. Not someone I look for in a hero, whether book or IRL.

Her books have the right amount of sweetness and angst with amazing, sassy heroines and hot, sweet heroes.
I loved Emmett and Aly SO.MUCH!

1.5 'idk what to rate this 'cause I don't remember reading it' stars

This was okayyyyy I guess lol. If i'm being honest it did the job. A mind numbingly corny romance in need of some intense editing? Ahhh just what I needed

Stella Rhys is a wonderful author who manages to get you hooked to this book in seconds.

This standalone series is one I would recommend to everyone! I just loved Emmet and Aly from the start. The only thing I needed a bit more of was Emmets mother and Ally's dad. How that go further. I know Emmets mom ws over the moon with Ally but I would've loved seeing that.
Allys dad was actually a real piece of work..

Third book in the series that I started reading within 3-4 days after reading the first one and I was just sick and tired of this premise. The first story was great, memorable. Second one, initially not as good but goes on to become something amazing. Same premise for both though. Then we get to this third one here, and guess what? SAME FUCKING PREMISE. I get it, your female protagonists need sex to scratch their itch, but dude wtf? Completely different stories in each case, but damn did I not give a single flying fuck.

But really though, I just didn’t like these characters (I can’t even remember their names right now, so that’s an indication in and of itself, right?). They had their struggles and all that shit and it was sad and explained why they were broken but I just couldn’t bring myself to care. Probably a good story in isolation but not as part of this series. The bar’s been set WAY too high by the first two to compare and I have a feeling the subsequent ones won’t measure either.

ok so i admit i’m very biased towards childhood frenemies to lovers trope which is exactly what emmett and aly are. it was so obvious from the first few chapters that emmett always had feelings for her like he was whipped.

the part about aly’s dad always preferring emmett over her own accomplishments broke my heart like it’s got to hurt knowing your parent values a family friend’s son over their own child. but i wish this had been explored more? also, i LOVED the glimpse we got of emmett and aly’s dynamic in high school and how they stopped being close, this probably could have been a 4 star read for me if we actually got these scenes in the book as flashbacks.

overall, i’m a sucker for past history so this trope really worked for me but i feel as though it didn’t love you to the angst potential.

tropes: family friends, childhood friends/enemies, push-pull relationship, loved you forever
