From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes a blazing-hot novel in her thrilling new series featuring four immortal warrior brothers whose fate lies with themselves as much as with their stars.

After being chained to a star to burn endlessly as punishment for stealing immortality from the gods, Jaykun has been unshackled to wage war alongside his brothers, in the name of a goddess. But his freedom comes with a price: Each night Jaykun must still suffer—his body burning from the inside out. One early morning, recovering from his torment, he encounters a beautiful stranger on the beach. Naked from her midnight-black hair down to her sandy toes, she approaches him with starry-eyed innocence and the unmistakable full body of a woman.

Soon Jaykun is swept up with the force of a comet, his desire for her hotter than any sun. His brothers fear he is blinded by her radiant beauty, that she has been sent by their enemies to seduce and destroy him. Jileana is indeed from another world—one Jaykun cannot begin to imagine. But will their passion burn brightly enough to light their way through the darkness that threatens to consume all in its path?

The Good : An interesting premise.

The Bad : Stiff narrative, which I was not expecting from Ms. Frank. I liked her Nightwalkers series enough and that was a fairly rich mythology and ‘verse so I had high hopes on this one. Unfortunately, nothing felt natural or flowed well and I wasn’t sure about the relationship between Jileana and Jakun from beginning to end.

I got this in June and I kept trying to read it, but it was super easy to put down. The urge to skim was strong and for a girl who reads, on average, a book a day AND loves paranormal/urban fantasy? It was kind of painful how it took me a reallllllly looooooooong time to get through this.

Everything In Between : It’s the third in a series, which I didn’t know when I picked this up, so I want to give it the benefit of the doubt that perhaps it would have helped to have started from the beginning with this series.

Did not work for me. It’s not my cuppa, but this may be a series that needs to be read from the beginning. That said, I just don’t see myself going back for the earlier books or continuing with it.

The third instalment of the Immortal Brothers series and I'm a little undecided by this book. On the one hand it was lovely to see how Jaykum and his brothers interact and finally get to just be the playful siblings they were meant to be but I'm a little perplexed by the exuberance of the heroine Jileana. When they meet it's under the worse possible circumstances as not only has Jaykum gone through his nightly torment but he has just been attacked ! Yet Jileana wastes no time in getting as close to him as the taciturn warrior will allow with inane questions and what's quite obviously designs upon his body. I did like the way she constantly bamboozled him with her mixture of innocence and passion but come on Jileana clearly was no ordinary woman and her secrets should have set off Jaykums internal alarms! Yes that male is more than a little obsessed but frankly the story really only begins to open up when Jileana takes Jaykum to meet what could become his inlaws! Now that's when this author really lets her imagination begin to flow!
This series has improved with each book and no longer feels as stiff and alien as it once did. I enjoy seeing these cursed brothers find love with the most unexpected females and this story certainly raised that bar! Far more depth to the second half of the book as we get to see what really drives Jaykum and also see Jileana bravely stand up to those who would oppress her. One more brother to redeem himself but as these passionate brothers have shown anything is possible.

DNF with a huge eye roll. Remember how in 'The Little Mermaid' you had Ariel so naive and anxious to experience all the wondrous things she found on dry land? Add constantly naked and highly oversexed to the naivety, and you have your heroine Jileana.

When Jacquelyn Frank is good, she's really good. When she not, she misses wildly. Here you get some really insipid drivel; sex scenes strung together with the barest bones of a story. The book reads like it could be one of Frank's first attempts at writing; a very sophomoric and unpolished work from an author with so many years of writing behind her.

Once bitten

Twice shy is the third brother Jaykun. He is leery of women and relationships after learning of his wife’s infidelities before he was imprisoned and tortured. Jileana is water that runs through Jaykun’s fingers. There is quite a lot of lively banter and teasing between the three brothers and between the H & H. Enjoyable read.

I’ve loved all the books in Jacquelyn Frank’s “Immortal Brothers” series but I have to say that this one is my favorite by a mile. I wish I could give it six stars! The two main characters alone are worth the read. Jileana is officially my favorite heroine of the year. Her unfiltered and joyous antics made me laugh out loud many times. Her vivacious nature is contagious and you can see that she brings joy to Jaykun and his brothers, who honestly can be rather dour sometimes. Jileana also has a serious side; if she wants something then you better not get in her way. Jaykun is perfect for her since he possesses a rather sly sense of humor that gets amped up when Jileana is around. The chemistry between these two was electric. I really think this book is the hottest book in the series…so far. The emotions between the two characters are charged and full of thrust and parry. Jaykun’s interactions with his brothers and Jileana’s relationship with her family give you further insight into how wonderful these two characters are and how perfect they are for each other. As usual Frank’s writing is top notch and keeps you riveted from the start. This book was the perfect mix of action, chemistry, and amazing character development.

LOVED THIS BOOK!

Really! I loved this book. I had never read a book about a ______ before and I had always wanted to. Unbeknownst to me, this book was that. I won't say it because I hate spoilers but I was over the moon when I discovered her gift.

Every book follow mostly the same premise but with very different heroines. The guy is always cursed and the girl always has a special gift. In book 1, she is a fire magician. In book 2, she can control a dragon. In book 3...well, you'll just have to read it for yourself to find out.

A ride through two very different cultures where love rises to conquers all.

Once upon a time there were four brothers that angered the gods by drinking from the fountain of immortality… well, that is the premise for The Immortal Brothers series. I will preface things right here by saying I haven’t read the first two in the series and not because I don’t have them. Believe it or not, they are on my tbr pile at home. Unfortunately, I’m not home at the moment. That didn’t stop me from reading Bound By Sin. Although it’s nice to read a series in order it’s not always necessary. When I found myself in the mood for a Jacquelyn Frank novel I was glad to find Bound by Sin in my ebook collection. I’ve come to expect great world building and paranormal romances when I pick up a book by Ms. Frank. Again I wasn’t disappointed.

Jaykun, while not the oldest of his siblings is the head of the armies which war and conquer in the name of Weysa, Goddess of conflict and war. The story opens with Jaykun mortally wounded and fighting on in his endeavor to conquer the port city of Kriza. It doesn’t take you long to figure out there is something “other” about Jaykun. He is definitely more than a mere mortal. He’s also a very serious warrior that has given up on the pleasures of the flesh and the false promises of love. So, when he is rescued from his enemies by Jileana one morning, he is surprised to find himself intrigued and aroused by the naked water sprite. It’s obvious she isn’t Krizan and the Krizan warriors run at her appearance amongst them. So just where does the naked sprite come from?

Having spied upon Jaykun in a hidden cove as he burns and boils the water he rests in, Jileana is curious. Humans mystify her but this one more so than any other. After four nights of observing him, Jileana agrees to accompany Jaykun as he and his army occupy the conquered city of Kriza. However, her agreement is for seven days only. Seven days of interacting with humans, eating the wonderfully different human foods and indulging in some of the hottest sex she’s ever known. But then, as all things, her idyllic vacation must come to an end. Jileana has a limited window in which to return home. Of course, her visit isn’t all idyllic bliss and fun. A conquered city doesn’t mean that all factions have truly given up. So it’s a case of watching your back for the knife in the dark. At the same time, the idea of heading home isn’t all too appealing either.

Where the two of them might both have anticipated working the other out of their systems, life doesn’t work that way when two people are meant to be. Intrigued with what makes each other tick, Jaykun decides to travel back to Jileana’s home as an ambassador for his goddess. Jaykun is in for just a few surprises and quickly comes to realize that playing the ambassador and compromise or the order of business in this strange new world. At the same time perhaps he has just a few things to offer as well.

I loved watching Jileana and Jaykun as they are both taken out of their culture and exposed to another. Watching the two of them fall for each other was satisfying and yet so frustrating as Jaykun continued to deny the existence of love. Of course, things are bound to heat up and conflicts abound that will see these two to their HEA. The overall series arc has me captured in its snare. I will most definitely be finding my copies of the first two in the series as soon as I get home. In the meantime, I’m on to Bound In Darkness/, the fourth and final novel in the series. Be sure to look for it when it releases on November 24th.

Jaykun is paying grievously for his sins. The gods have cursed him to burn every night from the inside out. He must serve his god and conquer lands where they will worship as well.

His two brothers have also been paying for their actions with curses. They assist him when they are not with their families. One brother is still missing and they search for him wherever they go.

Jaykun was betrayed by his wife and has no interest in having another family. Women have very little appeal to him. He lives to battle and conquer. One evening while he is serving his torment, he encounters a beautiful naked woman.

Jileana is very secretive about her origins but very open in other ways. Jaykun is attracted in spite of himself and agrees to let her stay with him for three days. Those days are totally different from anything either of them have ever experienced and neither wants to part. He has a mission to his god and his brothers worry that Jileana is a distraction that will cause them all harm. In fact, she just may be the salvation he didn't know he needed.

I had not read the other two stories and it took me a little bit to really feel connected to the story. Jaykun is not a very open person and I felt the distance too as a reader. It is only after he meets Jileana and starts to change that I was attracted to him and his story.

Jileana is a very interesting character. She is a nurturer and Jaykun and his curse call out to her. She appears naive and young but has a very deep understanding of others and how to help them be their best. She wants to heal him and is willing to risk her heart to make him whole.

It is really a beautiful romance and a story of redemption. Jaykun has paid for his mistakes and his constant suffering is hard to witness. He has so much he can share with others. His loyalty to those he loves is boundless.

I would have loved to learn more about Jileana's family and home. It is a very interesting world and one I would live to revisit. It is during their time there, that I really felt the connection to Jaykun. He reveals more about his past and his actions reveal his true feelings for Jileana. He was just a standard warrior before those reveals.

I enjoyed this story of brothers cursed by the gods to suffer for their trespass. I didn't read the other books yet so I can't compare them to those stories. Jaykun is a man in torment both emotionally and physically. Jileana soothes him and provides him with an opportunity to be more than an invader and conqueror. If he can truly embrace what she offers, he can be whole again.

Bound by Sin is the third book in the Immortal Brothers series by Jacquelyn Frank. It is currently scheduled foresees on September 29 2015. This is a series I highly recommend to read in order, although the love stories of each book do stand alone, it is the bigger story of the struggles the brothers face that require reading as a series.

After being chained to a star to burn endlessly as punishment for stealing immortality from the gods, Jaykun has been unshackled to wage war alongside his brothers. But each night Jaykun must still suffer, his body burning from the inside out. One early morning, recovering from his torment, he encounters a beautiful stranger on the beach. Naked from her midnight-black hair down to her sandy toes, she approaches him with starry-eyed innocence and the unmistakable full body of a woman. His brothers fear he is blinded by her radiant beauty, that she has been sent by their enemies to seduce and destroy him. Jileana is indeed from another world, one Jaykun cannot begin to imagine. But will their passion burn brightly enough to light their way through the darkness that threatens to consume all in its path?

Bound by Sin is a goods continuation of the story, however I will admit that it was long enough since reading the previous book that I did not initially remember the particulars of how Jaykun joined his brothers. Thankfully, the story gets down to the nitty gritty pretty quickly. Jaykun and Jileana meet pretty quickly, and their attraction and agreement comes about with little trouble. Jillian is all wonder and wide eyed innocence, obviously different. Jaykun does not trust easily, and both wants to protect those around him and his own heart. While trying to gather control of the city he and his brothers have just won, the relationship between the two grows. Journeying to Jileana’s home adds a new level of conflict and danger to the mix. The pairing worked well for me, but I will admit that once they got to Jileana’s home the names got confusing, and some things got either too simple or complicated- they just did not work for me as well as I had hoped. I did still enjoy the read, it just did not hold up to me high standards for the author.

Bound by Sin is not my favorite of the series, but the set up at the end gives me high hopes for the forth. Even though I prefer the other books in the series so far, this book still had some really good moments and is worth the read, particularly for Frank fans.

“How funny humans are, that love is a sin.” – Bound by Sin

**advance reader copy received through NetGalley**

Bound by Sin is the third book in Frank’s Immortal Brothers series, a series based on four brothers who stole immortality from the gods and are forced to take on immortal punishment as penance. This book focuses on the story of Jaykun, whose punishment was being chained to a star and burning eternally. Released to wage war and accrue followers for a goddess, Jaykun must continue to pay for his transgression each night. Suddenly a beautiful woman appears to lure Jaykun from his brothers and duties, but is she a threat or the promise of salvation? Jileana is definitely something special, and despite her blinding innocence she manages to prove herself several times over. In his worry over sucking her into his world of death and pain, Jaykun is sucked into Jileana’s strange life instead. Will Jaykun anger the goddess he serves and be condemned once more? Will Jileana manage to free herself from a life of abuse and torment? Once the dust clears, will the lovers find themselves serving opposing gods, or worse…will they pay with their lives?

“Rewards?” He scoffed. He couldn’t help himself. “Love brings no rewards. It is an illusory thing poets and bards made up to lure coin from a listener’s pocket.” – Bound by Sin

I think that fans of Jacquelyn Frank will enjoy the series, and as I jumped into the series with book three I can say it stands alone just fine. I really enjoy the writing style of this author, especially her Nightwalkers series. With integration of a pantheon of gods and goddesses, you might see similarities to other paranormal series available, but the author ensures her worldbuilding is quite unique. While I enjoyed the character of the male lead, I found his tendency to anger quickly with his brothers and yet allow certain insults in other areas a little off. I can tolerate some level of innocence in a female lead, but I found Jileana to be a little bit too innocent and a soft target for aggression. The story focuses on the couple initially, and then seems to disperse once the scene changes, focusing on a single character or interactions with characters other than the love interest. I will certainly be looking into the final book in this series to see how things wrap up with the last brother.

I know! An unusual read for me. I had to add the "paranormal romance" shelf. The closest I have read to this was Patricia Briggs and I don't think that they are in the same category! I was looking for a change and I chose the perfect book. This book has an excellent, original story with interesting characters. The writing is good. My only complaint is that there is a little too much sex, but that may be normal for this genre. The sex is not in poor taste, just a lot of it!

Four brothers drink from the Fountain of immortality and they are all four punished by the gods. One of the brothers, Jaykun, is chained to a star. Now, even though he is released from the star, he suffers at dawn burning from the inside out as if he were still chained to it. (This is book three in the Immortal Warriors Series. I had no trouble understanding the story without having read books 1 or 2) One night as Jaykun is suffering at dawn he hears someone. A woman has been secretly watching him. A nude, beautiful woman. This is how he meets Jileana. They are both attracted to each other. Jileana wants to get to know him better so she proposes that she go home with him for three days and three meals. Normally Jaykun would not even consider it. He has just conquered a city for his goddess. And he has another one on the agenda. But Jileana is different. she just opens her mouth and says exactly what she feels and thinks and it is refreshing to Jaykun and to the reader. He agrees, if she will put on his shift. However, when he gets home, his brothers are furious and keep insisting that she is a spy. Jaykun starts getting a little paranoid. Will he listen to his heart and trust his feelings for Jileana or will he be swayed by his brothers who are worried for their brother?

Such an entertaining read and though this was just supposed to be a refreshing change of pace, I loved the characters so much, I might have to give the rest of the series a try!

Again we have another very strong heroine, and a lot more paranormal in this one. Jaykun really tried to not fall for her but in the end he couldn't stop the inevitable . This is another intense storyline with a lot of action and hot sexual encounters which keep the novel moving nicely. I can't wait to read Maxum 's story as I don't think he is going to go along with what is needed as easily as the other brothers.

I would recommend this series for any PNR lovers out there you will not be disappointment.

Bound by Sin is the third book in the Immortal Brothers series. While is can be read as a standalone, I suggest that you read them in order to get a solid background of the story and characters as the two brothers from the previous stories are supporting characters in this one.

I thought for sure by the third book I'd be getting bored and that the stories would all begin to blend together, however that it NOT the case. While Jaykun does have a lot of similarities to his brothers, Jileana is nothing like any of there leading ladies...and she by far is my favorite so far.

Jileana reminds me a bit like Ariel from the Little Mermaid, she knows nothing of the world that Jaykun lives in and is quite innocent and naive. However, Jileana has this amazing strength about her that is very interesting to watch. There is also a lot of mystery surrounding Jileana and where she comes from, which really keeps you engaged in the story as it unfolds.

Much like the other two book in the series, I found this books storyline to be well thought out and I thought that it flowed nicely. The dialogue I found to flow smoothly and be quite entertaining with Jileana's lack of filter at times. I felt this this book contained way more of sexual component to it since Jileanna was always naked...but that was an added bonus to me.

Bound by Sin has been my favorite book in this series so far. I can't wait to read the final installment of the Immortal Brothers series!

Jaykun was cursed by the gods to be chained to a star to burn endlessly as punishment for stealing immortality. Now he is released under the conditions that he: leads an Army to get more supporters for the god that he follows and that instead of burning continuously he will now only burn at night.

After suffering through a night of torment he meets Jileana, a beautiful stranger on the beach. Jaykun knows that he should walk away from Jileana but her beauty and her innocence leaves him wanting her more and more.

Can Jileana give Jaykun the peace that he deserves after all that he has suffered or will she bring him more pain then he ever could have imagined? Read and find out!

I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review.

There was a lot that I loved about this book. I loved the overall world that Jaquelyn created with all of these people and creatures and I always get sucked into it very fast. I loved the humor and the heat from all of the passion and explosive chemistry between Jileana and Jaykun. I also loved mystery behind Jileana and her people, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out exactly what Jileana was and where she came from.

I don't want to give spoilers but what gave me pause was some of the decisions Jaykun made when it came to Jileana. I felt like he didn't learn his lesson after he took immortality when he was not supposed to. But of course Jaquelyn did a great job explaining why things were the way the were and then I loved the story again.

Overall great book cant wait to hear about the next brother.

In a series that started out great and gets better with each book, Jaykun's story is my favorite so far. And while each of the books can easily standalone and have their own HEA, they are better when read in order because of background and context. I highly recommend this book and the series and will be watching impatiently for book four.

The third Immortal brother to be freed by the goddess Weysa from eternal punishment (in his case from burning like a star from the inside out for daring to drink from the fount of life without permission), is in the process of conquering the port city of Kriza in Weysa's name when the story begins. After the city falls, he encounters a naked woman, Jileana, near the beach where he goes each night to burn. Jileana looks nothing like the Krizians, intrigues Jaykun enough to take her back to the castle, and saves him from an assassin's blade the next morning. He is completely smitten and his brothers are suspicious, but Jileana has asked for three days with him before she has to return home to Serenity, a city on an island concealed by perpetual storms. Jaykun has agreed, but at the end of their time together, he realizes three days isn't enough and impulsively begins a forbidden journey that will change all their lives.

As punishment for uninvitedly drinking from the fountain of the gods, Jaykun and his brothers have be sentenced to punishment as seen appropriate by the gods.
For Jaykun, his punishment is burning as hot as a star from the inside out day after day.
In agreement for his release, he must now go forth along with his brother and conquer cities in the name of Weysa.
While overtaking the a recent city, Jaykun finds himself drawn to a mysterious and naked woman, who appears before him one night.
Although taking over the city is his task, he takes a little comfort in the arms of the mysterious woman Jileana. But he must be careful can not risk risk his heart in the process.

This is the third book in the Immortal brothers series and was not at all disappointing. This book hit the ground running.
I loved Jileana's bluntness and Jaykun's kind and protectiveness behavior.
With a medieval/alternative reality kind of setting, it was full of betrayal, suspense, romance and of course action.

Can't wait to read the next installment.

This is the third book in the series and I loved it as much as the first two. In each story of the series the brothers must suffer punishment for stealing immortality from the Gods. Jaykuns punishment is to burn like a star every night but he is allowed to lead a normal life the rest of the time as long as he fights for the Goddess Weysa.
It all changes for him one night when he makes his way to a secluded cove. It is far enough away from everyone that when he burns like a star no one will be hurt. But this time he is not alone. He senses someone is there and when he recovers from his nightly punishment he sees Jileana. And nothing will be the same. Who is she and why is he so drawn to her? Better yet what is she? And will she be the answer to breaking his curse?
Frank makes me feel like I am right there in the book with her characters. Each book takes you on a wonderful ride to a different place. I cant wait to read Maxum's story.

Bound by Sin (Immortal Brothers #3) by Jacquelyn Frank was fantastic to say the least! I think I have found my new fave paranormal romance author. Let the stalking begin! This is the third book in the Immortal Brothers series and I had not read the first two books. When I realized it was the third in a series I was worried that I would not be able to follow along. I was WRONG! Ms. Frank wrote a beautifully descriptive story and catches you up as you go along.

I have been a paranormal romance junkie for years and I have to give a virtual high five to the author for creativity and inventing a world and characters that are like no other that I have read to date. I am excited to read more from this author and have grabbed the first books in this series. I highly recommend this awesome series!

Bound by Sin is the third book in Jacquelyn Frank epic saga about brothers who become immortal but at an unbending price. If you follow the series you know that each brother has to endure untold pain each night. In Bound by Sin we get the chance to read about Jaykun. After being chained to a star to burn endlessly for stealing immortality from the gods, Jaykun is the next brother to be set free to battle alongside his brothers to raise an army of warriors.
One night while suffering his torture from the gods, he was spied on by unknown women. Soon Jaykun is swept up with desire. So Jaykun and Jileana adventure begins; one looking for salvation and another on a journey of new discoveries in a world new from any that she ever explored before.

Jacquelyn Frank has done it once again. Three quarters through a quartet of cursed brothers and you would think it would start getting old. But no! This tale goes into the full development of the relationship between Jaykun and Jiliene (I do like the alliteration). But 50% of the way through and we still ask... what are you, Jiliene? Paranormal readers, of course, know that answer but the book doesn't answer the question till a bit further in. So of course, I was unable to put it down until I got my definitive answer. And then I had to see where the rest of the story would go.

Oh my. One brother left to go in this series. Whatever will I do when that is written and devoured in reading? I'm sure the creative mind of the author already has an answer to that question.

I have to admit that this one started out a little slowly for me but after I pushed through the first four chapters it grabbed hold and didn't let go.

I love how Jileana was mischievous and teased Jaykun to get what they both wanted. I loved how Jaykun tried to stick to his guns but in the end gave in to Jileana. It was a really good love story with an interesting premise and some paranormal individuals you don't often read about. If you are a looking for an immortal love story with a little different twist, this book is for you!

I have to admit I'm undecided about this novel. I have enjoyed the series to this point and have loved reading how each brother has overcome his curse and met the most unlikely women to mate. It was nice to see the brothers get to be a bit more light hearted and playful in this novel as the others were really intense. I think I just didn't connect with Jileana and her sense of fun...it didn't fit for me, I just couldn't get the connection and that make the story hard for me to swallow.

The second half of the novel was better and the intensity returns. Each book in the series does get better in it's own way and I will be reading the last book in the series.

3 star read for me.

I was given an ARC for an honest review. This is the third book of the series and I hadn't read the first two. Ms. Frank does a good job of catching the reader up with the bones of the series so I didn't feel lost having started with book three. The author is a master at world building and the main characters were not your typical paranormal roles. An intense storyline with action and hot sexual encounters keep the novel moving. I would recommend this book and series to any paranormal romance lover.

2.5 out of 5 stars to Bound by Sin by Jacquelyn Frank

I've been a long-time fan of Frank's stories, but Frank's writing has been hit or miss for me with her more recent books. The series is romantic fantasy set in an alternate world with gods and a light touch of magic. I was thrilled with CURSED BY FIRE, Book 1 in this series. Book 2, CURSED BY ICE, left me feeling tepid. BOUND BY SIN also leaves me wishing for the magic of Frank's earlier publications.

I was given a copy by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a well thought own story, it was easy to read and keep up with. I really enjoyed this story. This one has been my favorite so far. Jileana's lack of filter was very entertaining and kept the book fun to read. I was kept intrigued throughout the whole book. The characters were very interesting, as was the story line. I look forward to the next book.

To burn like a star....could be beautiful but to Jaykun; it's just a pain. I enjoyed this story of romance and redemption. It explains salvation as well as a journey of new discoveries. I found this novel full of betrayal, suspense, and of course action. The chemistry was great with Jileana was hot!!! I love a book with amazing character development. I can't wait to read book 4!

Great story. I only wished sometimes that Jilleana would of smacked Jaykun at least once.
