Nineteen-year-old Phalaen Lundgren, creator of Dark Net website, Panacea is en route from Oregon to Boston to study distributed systems at MIT when she discovers secrets from her deceased mother's past. Is it possible that the drawing she found is of her mother's twenty-first and final sculpture from her "Crypto Chaos" series and is the key to that past and to Phalaen's future? And if it is, will Phalaen find the sculpture and the key before the ghosts find her? "I really enjoyed this book. Crime, Anarchy, Crypto & Mystery - what more could you want? I don't want to give too much away, but the story is layered, complex & fast paced - especially towards the end, with some humor and cyberpunk references thrown in. I can't wait for the follow up." ~Sarah Jamie Lewis, Leading expert on web user tracking and deanonymization research "Compelling and original crypto thriller with an engaging and believable young protagonist whom you really care about. The plot twists kept me turning the pages - and I'm really hoping there is a Part Two, so I can find out what happens next." ~Rhian Lewis Co-developer of Count My Crypto and Co-founder of London Bitcoin Women I must say that I am very thrilled that two women of such a high caliber in the tech space read and enjoyed my book. It is high praise and I am really stoked. It was my daughter, Aziza, who challenged me to write the story. In accepting her challenge, I tried to provide female characters who would not only be interesting to follow but also interesting for her to play. Rather than complain that there aren't a lot of strong, interesting female leads in literature and film, I figured I would just create some. Make the world what you want it to be and let your spots be a foothold for your journey. ~Bitcoin Belle

This is a review for PIVOTS, the second book in the Cryptonautica Series. Coming Soon!

PIVOTS starts off where "CC me" left us with some mysteries to solve. The expansion of both the characters stories and personalities pushed me to each next page, but the underlying trail of crumbs pointing to the creator of Bitcoin is what pushes me to read the next book and the entire series over and over. I find this book to be a technologist version of clue mixed with the soul of a military/spy thriller, which to me shows a profound level of detail & attention to reality.

I find it important to understand a bit of history about cryptocurrency, machine learning & the intelligence community to really grasp the context of this story, which I do myself. It also is probably an esoteric story to most, but I think it has the capacity to introduce many people to complex subject matters ranging from computer science, artificial intelligence & cryptography all the way to emotional intelligence as well as the dramatic interactions of friends and family.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have read the first book "CC me", now I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book which to me always means an articulate story being told, leading you to the next chapter. I think this storyline very much will bring people closer to the future and the reality of the state of technology that the world is in today. It gave me some insight into the struggles of different people with different backgrounds, especially the experiences of Q, Seven & Phalaen. I greatly enjoyed this book & think many of you will too.

Excellent book; my favorite novel that I've read this year at the very least. CC me is a mystery/thriller written in a modern setting with themes that are very relevant to present day society. The main character is an extremely precocious 19 year old girl who's part cypherpunk and part regular old teenage punk. It is fast paced and will leave you wanting more (I read the whole book in one sitting; couldn't put it down!)
