This book was so fun to read, I blew through it in a day!
I really like the characters and the journey they went on, although the writing did seem slightly patchy / misinformed at times which did bug me a little, but it was only occasionally, so it can be looked past

I finished it, which is an accomplishment considering how I'm going through the mother of all book slumps. Yay! It was a great book, except for one teeny bit in the middle which decreased my enjoyment by a massive amount, and it would have been a five star read for me. Also, I was reminded of Sophie Kinsella in a way except Phoebe was less ditzy? (I love Kinsella's heroines but they aren't exactly the crowd favourites for Smart Women of the Year Award).
So yeah, I really really liked this book and I'll love to read more of what the author has to offer.

Estoy entre las 3'5 y las 4 estrellitas, así que me quedo con la nota más baja porque soy muy rata XD.
En algún momento saldrá en el blog la reseña del primer libro de esta serie pero, como este no lo voy a reseñar allí, lo pongo por aquí. Por eso de no destripar nada del libro anterior, os hago un resumen de mi opinión.
Es un libro en formato diario narrado por la protagonista de la historia que cuenta, de modo bastante divertido y realista, la vida de una pareja joven y moderna que han pasado de ser unas máquinas en la cama a casi acostarse sin rozarse. No es que no se quieran, es que los trabajos y la vida diaria acaban ocupando más espacio que las ganas de guarrerismo, con lo que la pareja acaba pareciendo de amigos más que de churris. Al ser un diario, vemos qué pasa con ambos en un año entero, igual que en la novela anterior. La gran diferencia es que en la primera había un objetivo a lograr en ese año y en esta, no. Además, no es tan divertido lidiar con los problemas de una pareja establecida a ver cómo se lo pasan bomba mientras se refrotan cada vez que pueden.
Reconozco que soy muy fan de Bridget Jones y estos libros te los venden como su respuesta escocesa (sí, queridas, los maromos en algún momento se asoman en kilt #Yummy). Si bien adoro a Bridget Phoebe me ha parecido también muy graciosa (a veces me salía la carcajada sola) y más real, con problemas y pensamientos que fácilmente he identificado como propios.
Es un libro muy fácil de leer, divertido (aunque menos que el primero) y que habla sin tapujos de los guarrerismos (aunque no es una novela romántica, con lo que no se hacen descripciones de esos momentos y, a veces, se dice que ha habido tema pero no se menciona cómo ha sido). Contar, cuenta poco pero bueno, lo he leído muy a gusto y eso más de lo que puedo decir de muchos libros de esta clase más conocidos.
En fin, que voy a seguir la pista a esta escritora porque me parece bastante fresca y me ha resultado muy agradable de leer.

RELIGHT MY FIRE
A huge Joanna Bolouri's fan here and ahh jeez, guys! What a brilliantly filthy, sexy and equally romantic and hilarious novel "Relight My Fire" was! I enjoyed every single page and really, I didn't have an idea how much I wanted to know about the characters' lives after "The List"! So, that has set the tone of my review a little already, right?
It was absolutely brilliant to catch up with Phoebe and Oliver and their bedroom antics in the sequel to "The List". It tells us what happens five years after the List and while I reluctantly admit that yes, you can read it as a stand - alone, I'd really advise to read the books in the right order - you simply are going to miss on more hilarity in your life if you won't read the previous novel, and well, I also think it is a great introduction to "Relight My Fire".
Phoebe is still Phoebe, sassy, quirky and direct. And in relationship with Oliver. As you may remember, they used to have some crazy sex adventures, however, after few years and a daughter, things calmed down a little. Moreover, Phoebe finds that they are in a rut, not only in bed but also in everyday life. So it's time for something bigger - counselling. But not your usual one, oh no, of course not - after all, Phoebe and Oliver's sex live should revive. What does it mean? Even more sex adventures, of course.
But the story didn't only focus on sex and I liked this fact very, very much. There were more subplots that kept me glued to the pages and made the story even more exciting. It also brings us back some of the old characters and we couldn't miss Braindead in this book - it wouldn't be the same without him, I think he deserves his own novel to be honest. But of course also Phoebe and Oliver stayed their own good old selves, maybe a little bit more mature but still free - spirited. I fell for them immediately again, laughed at their musings and wanted for the things to go smoothly for them. It is so normal, their relationship, as well as the fact that after some time things pale a little and this is why, I think, this book was so relatable and believable, and the things they said or did just rang a bell or two.
This novel, as well as "The List", is written in the diary form and it works perfect. Told mostly from Phoebe's point of view, it was highly amusing to read in what ways the couple tried to spice things up in their bedroom, and this included not only total abstinence, but also a play list and a "sex jar" with requests... Yes, it is a very, very descriptive book - and I'm not going to say a word more *going red all over again*
Oh, OK, I'm going to say more. Because yes, sex is very important in this novel, but deep, deep down at the heart of this story it is all about love, friendship and passion in your relationship. How it is worth to dedicate more time each other again.
"Relight My Fire" was a brilliant story about feelings. This book really had it all. It made me blush, hell, forget blushing, it made me go all red. It was hilariously funny, it was brutally honest and open, it was great. It made me laugh out loud, it made me cringe with embarrassment, it made me go "awww", it made me want to face - palm the characters or bang their heads together - and it doesn't happen often that I fell so strongly for the characters and completely feel a part of their lives. Written in this typical Joanna Bolouri's writing style, bold and direct, and bringing freshness and over - stepping boundaries, and not everyone would be able to write such a book - I can't recommend it highly enough!

There were also a couple more plot-lines to complement the main one, so you were never bored with the story and things kept happening.
Relight My Fire is hilarious, rude and highly entertaining. It keeps up with the fun tone of The List but it can still be read as a stand alone. So why not check it out?

Set 5 years after The List, it was great to catch up with Phoebe and Oliver again. I will shamefully admit that I don't after such a break since I read the first book, recall too much about it, but that does mean that I can assure anyone that this can easily be read as a standalone.
There were a few reminders from The List, but on the whole this was a whole new story, about a married couple needing to reinvigorate their sex life. They have 4 year old Mollie now, and she is adorable, which would put a dampener on most people's passion, and so they come up with ways to try to spice up their lives.
Easily my favourite parts of this book was the introduction of the sex jar and how it was used, and the scenarios being played out, were a lot of fun, and incredibly sexy too.
I really enjoyed Phoebe's best friend Lucy, she was such a breath of fresh air running through the book, some of the funniest lines seemed to come from her.
The story takes place over a year, and is told in what appeared to be diary entries, some longer and some shorter. I really enjoyed all of Pam's suggestions for Phoebe and Oliver and it really wasn't all plain sailing.
This was the perfect length of book for me to read on a journey to and from Stoke, and it passed the journey incredibly well. I almost missed at least one stop, and generally didn't notice the world passing me by. Was incredibly enjoyable and the ending left me with a massive grin on my face (to the extent I think I had a few weird looks).

When I saw the synopsis of Relight my Fire I was instantly intrigued. Followers of my blog might know by now that I love some sexual content in my books and well let’s say that Relight My Fire hits the bill completely. If you are a bit skirmish about sex scenes in Chicklit this might not be the book for you. But if you love some hot and steamy romance, than boy you are in for a treat!
Reading the first few chapters I thought I wasn’t going to like it as much as I would have loved to. It was very focused on the fact that Phoebe and Oliver weren’t having any sex at all. And it was pretty clear to me their daughter had nothing to do with it. But then the story took quite a turn and the focus wasn’t mainly on sex. It turns out to be story about falling in love with your partner all over again. Facing secrets, desires and just growing up as an adult. Because the story doesn’t end when you get the love of your life and children. That’s when the challenge begins.
And it wasn’t the fact that Phoebe and Oliver were in a sex-slump that made it so incredibly relatable for me. But the fact that a relationship changes. That is ok as a mother and father to sometimes want to be something else than a parent. That is ok to dream of time without your little rugrats. And of course there were just so many familiar scenes that just hit home. (Especially the scene were in the heat of the moment a child decided to wake up and call for mommy or daddy. Or the vacation in Turkey. )
I absolutely adored this book. Much more then I expected after reading the first chapters. I fell in love and could let the story go. I kept on reading and reading and finished it under 3 hours. You could call it an addiction, partly because of the very hot sex scenes! Who were by the way very inspirational. I loved the whole concept op the book and I truly loved the characters. Especially Phoebe, because the book is written in diary form it is easier to get a connection with this incredible sassy lady.
I see a lot of reviews where there is a certain plot twist addressed and not being like by a few readers. But I must say I actually thought this plot twist added extra depth to the book and made it more than just another chick lit.
I didn’t know Relight My Fire was a sequel. But I can’t wait to read the previous instalment in the series.

Gah, Woman's Fiction – I hate when we dismiss a whole sector of readers. Why do that? Why shouldn't men read this? Ah well, rant over.
I Loved The List, a fabulous read. Maybe I just had over expectations for this but I didn't find it as gripping, as funny, as can't-stop-reading. I liked it, a lot but didn't love it.
Oliver and Phoebe are wonderful, and Phoebe's friends are great. Its lovely to see how they all are five years on. Phoebe though finds that each time she approaches Oliver he's too tried, not in the mood, Molly needs something, and its suddenly a couple of moths since they've made love.
Phoebe's list comes into play again – and wow, what great ideas the two of them have. Soon they're on full flow, unable to keep their hands of each other, just like the old days. It seems all their issues are sorted – but are they? People from Phoebe's past suddenly appear, and Oliver isn't happy, then something comes out from him that shocked Phoebe ( and me). It caused a huge rift, and I understood how both felt. Its the kind of issues many couples face, and what can break a relationship if not dealt with properly and I so didn't want that to happen.
Of course in all the drama are the usual comedic moments that characterized The List and lightened the seriousness of the novel. That was a great balance, not too bright and chippy to be considered fluff, not too deep and dark to be off-putting to readers who want a story to relax with. I love books like this that deal with real events, with issues we all face but also give me some bright moments and a HEA. I need that.
Overall its another great read but there were times I found myself drifting, not fully into the story, unlike The List where I found it impossible to put down. Its a good follow up, and was good to see how they were doing five years down the line.
Stars: Four, not up to the List for me, but a good read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “If it wasn't for his parents, sister and our daughter fifteen feet away in the other room, my knickers would have been round my ankles. He really picks his moments. Nothing for weeks and now he was two seconds away from fingering me next to some out-of-date stock cubes. Classy.” Oh. My. Word. I have found it. I have found the book of my dreams.
Phoebe and Oliver have a four year old daughter and their relationship seems to be stuck in limbo. The once best friends have reverted to best friends once again, and in a desperate attempt to relight the spark in their relationship. They do so by visiting the therapist from Phoebe's past, who has the excellent idea to come up with a jar where they can both write their sexual wishes, or dreams. However, as the spark increases between them in the bedroom, secrets revealed in therapy dim their light and questions arise as to how strong a couple they can be when it comes down to it.
The characters made this book for me. Phoebe is a completely laugh out loud absolutely hilarious character who narrates us through the book. I like how honest she is with her insecurities and her willingness to make sure her relationship survives. I could write a whole essay on how much I love her and her narration throughout the book. She reminded me very much like a Sophie Kinsella, Bridget Jones, meets Miranda type character. Whose flaws are open to everyone, yet are embraced in an utterly hilarious way. I really do recommend this with ease to any fans of the aforementioned. The therapist Pam, had some genuinely quite good suggestions on how to improve their relationship, so if your relationship needs a touch up, you could even read this for a few sexy ideas. A very multi-functional read indeed. (I am not married with children however, so don't quote me on that.)

This made for a very quick read as paragraphs were short and sweet and dialogue kept to the necessary. I also really did enjoy the honesty of the writing. Phoebe and Oliver both accepted the issues within their relationship and were willing to work on it to save them, because at worst, they're really good mates. This is one of my favourite genres of book, the sort of second chance marriage perhaps? Where you can see the two have very strong foundations, they are comfortable with one another, and the realities of life dim what was once a strong spark. Seeing them rekindle, and in such a hilariously sexy way, was just the best.
I recommend this to anyone. Seriously. Anyone. It was funny, witty, and so damn sexy. This is by far one of the best books I have ever read (and have already re-read it twice.)

Phoebe and Oliver have a Daughter! Fantastic sequel to The List. Chortle through chapters of how to rediscover a relationship. There’s a few sad moments in there but the majority is pure hilarity, escapism at its very best. I read this in less than a day. Fabulous book.

It actually started good. There were few funny parts and I was instantly interested in the story.
A few chapters in and I got tired and bored with all the repetition. I also couldn’t resonate with the main characters and I felt like whatever they were going through was just very trivial.
I’m sorry.
This book is just not for me.

Loved it! I liked the way it was written as a diary and how it was completely relatable to any mother of young children in a relationship. I found if really funny and uplifting.

I am 100% positive that I am not the only one who has sung the title of the book – how could you not?
‘Relight my Fire’ is the sequel to ‘The List’, so whilst there will be definite character overlap, I think that you could get away with reading this book as a standalone. However, it might be beneficial for you to read ‘The List’ first, just so you can get a better idea of the characters backstories.
I really have no idea how she does it, but Joanna Bolouri had me snorting tea out of my nose in a matter of minutes, writing the types of things that you would really need to ‘be there’ for. You know, the ones where someone laughs so hard over something HILARIOUS, whilst other people look on like you’re growing a second head.
Although, judging by what Phoebe and Oliver put in their ‘sex jars’, I’m waiting for people to look at them like they’ve grown a second head. Well, if Phoebe has her wish then Oliver will but y’know!!!
If you’re a prude then this book would probably be the ‘naughtiest book you’ve ever read’, but for people who can turn any sentence into filth, I would say that the level of naughtiest isn’t as riskay as one would hope for. Don’t get me wrong, the contents of the ‘sex jar’ are raunchy enough and utterly bonkers, but I know the author has it in her to take those characters way beyond than what she did here. Not complaining by the way, I just thought that it was perhaps a little tame for Joanna Bolouri haha.
If you’re a parent with a young child, you’re probably going to relate to ‘Relight my fire’ a lot more than others will. I thought that the issues which Oliver and Phoebe faced along the way, were relatable and very black and white. I loved how Joanna Bolouri didn’t sugar coat any of the hurdles couples can face, especially those with young children.
Bolouri kept her entire story honest and real, and for that I applaud her because those types of situations aren’t easy, yet she wrote them in a laugh-out-loud and bonkers manner, catering for a wide range of readers.
Phoebe and Oliver are a brilliant couple to read about, and I loved how they seem to have gotten funnier since ‘The List’ – their sarcasm is brilliant!
I devoured ‘Relight My Fire’ in one sitting, making it the fastest book I have read of Joanna Bolouri’s. Whilst I do feel that the storyline had a lot more room for a lot more raunchiness, I still absolutely adored reading this book – I don’t think I have laughed this much in ages.
‘Relight My Fire’ is such a feel good and uplifting read which will make you laugh when the going gets tough, instead of holding your head in your hands and crying. Either that or it’ll give you the urge to create your own ‘sex jar’ – single or not!
Joanna Bolouri has delivered once again! Such a laugh out loud, bonkers, and enjoyable read from an author who says it like it is. I eagerly await her next novel!

RMF is a follow on read from our JB's sensational debut, The List. I would wholeheartedly recommend reading that first. I’m not saying you can't read this one first mind, but you will thank me later if you do, I promise.
So, we’re back five years after leaving a wonderful happy ending with the fabulous, Phoebe and Oliver, and now demanding jobs and a daughter. Stuck in a rut, in their life and their sex life they’re introduced to a sexy wish jar. What’s a sexy wish jar? Well, it’s a jar in which you can put in anything you’ve ever wanted to ask your other half to do in bed.
(Not going to lie I was a bit disappointed because my sexy wish jar would be a jar of Nutella and a spoon.)
We all know happy endings don't always mean they end up as happy endings. Most of us in relationships with or without children understand that they all do go stale and could do with some spice put back into them sometimes. Having a modern, up-to-date book that delves into this subject is wonderful. It's totally relatable and this is what makes it so good. It's real life, real relationships, real love, real ruts, real time that we end up not spending together because life somehow gets in the way. It's not easy to keep that connection from the beginning days, so I'm glad it's been done honestly, respectfully, straight to the point and of course in the hilarious fashion in which our JB (Joanna Bolouri not Justin Bieber) has us accustomed too.
RMF is descriptive but not full on porn, I did expect it to be worse. Worse in a good way that is. However, I'm very hard to make blush so this had me dead from the start with the endless innuendos and hilarious one liners. It is also not just based on sex, although I know a lot of us wouldn't have minded that. It has a fantastic premise and some nice run along storylines which keeps us drawn in and interesting throughout and also more depth and insight into the characters themselves.
JB is crazy! She amazes me with her talent, execution and humour. As always her flow is on point and reads perfectly. She’s down to earth, clever and I’m pretty smitten with her to tell you the truth. Her books are like stress relief to me.
She is without a doubt RomCom Queen by far and give her a chance and she will be after the Bonk-Buster crown from Rebecca Chance. Yes, I said it.... Now that is some serious praise indeed!
I honestly loved Relight My Fire - the book that is, not the shit song by Take That! It’s funny, energetic, quick, easy, spicy and shocking! You’ll definitely get through it faster than one of those pink gins you have at the end of one of them proper shit days.
Also, you will get weird looks if you read this in public.

Relight My Fire is the follow-on novel to Joanna Bolouri’s hit debut The List from 2014, but don’t worry this is a great story even if you’re reading it as a standalone.
It’s five years on and Phoebe and Oliver are living together with their adorable daughter Molly. Things in the bedroom department have slowed right down and Phoebe’s had enough, she drags Oliver to her old therapist Pam Potter to help put the spark back in their sex life. They then embark on another sexual voyage of discoveries as the Sex Jar is introduced into their relationship. This brings plenty of fun and crazy situations but also means Phoebe must deal with some very strong emotions. When they’re done will the fire be back roaring, or will it have gone out completely?
Told from Phoebe’s perspective through her diary we get to learn a great deal about Phoebe and how she views the world. I find her a very endearing character because despite the blunt and sometimes rude exterior on the inside she’s a bundle of insecurities just like the rest of us. I just loved how she was so concerned about not messing up being a mum for Molly, the love she has for that little girl oozes of every page and that was one of the highlights of this book for me.
If your looking a similar book to The List with as mammoth amount of laugh out loud crazy sexual exploits then you might be a little disappointed, Relight My Fire although still being very funny has not near the amount of sexual content and its not as “out-there”. This book does give a much deeper insight into Phoebe and Oliver’s relationship and I really enjoyed that aspect of the book. I also loved the additional storylines in this book which added more depth to Phoebe’s life and the book.
Overall, I found this a great book full of funny moments which left me with a massive grin on my face. Well done Ms. Bolouri for another fantastic read, I can’t wait for your next book.

My Book Bestie Vic and I have had this one saved as our buddy read after both adoring “All I Want for Christmas”. I have a canny suspicion that Joanna has been stalking me for ideas for Phoebe’s character. I saw so much of myself in her it was so relatable and why I enjoyed it even more. Stopping to read extracts out to my hubby for him to agree.
The story is ultimately about a couple struggling with being the “old them” with the everyday pressures that we all face, work, children, annoying school gate mums, annoying colleagues, strange family members. What I loved about this book is one, the character wasn’t some washboard gym bunny, she had wobbly bits and forgot to trim the bush, gets herself into embarrassing situations all real events that make us realise we aren’t alone in this mess we call life.
For me the best character is Lucy! Absolutely LOVE her. Her “couldn’t give a toss” attitude and honesty is just so comforting. Saw a lot of my pal Vic in her.
The way Joanna writes is just so candid with so much dry humour it’s just a tonic and pick me up always gratefully received.
This should be 5 stars and I know Vic loved it and gave it 5, but as with All I want for Christmas there was a tiny little niggle for me that didn’t sit right. I ignored it on AIWFC but it appeared in this book too. I just feel that the little ones come across as older than they are. I could picture every character like they were mates/colleagues neighbours, but the children are written too advanced for me that I see them in my head as maybe 8/9/10 just by the things they do and say. Tiny criticism for an otherwise perfect book. So bloody brilliantly funny.
The lube scene....nailed it, almost peed my pants!!

I started reading this without reading the blurb - I’ve read a few books by Joanna Bolouri and enjoyed most of them. So a few chapters in when the characters seemed familiar and a list was mentioned, things started to click into place and I realised that I had met Phoebe and Oliver before. Ironically they were the main characters in The List - the only book by JB that I hadn’t enjoyed. Because of that, had I read the blurb beforehand, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one up.
It’s rather strange for me to have two completely different experiences with the same characters, and just goes to prove that your mood at the time of reading can affect the reading experience. I didn’t like how The List was written (as a series of diary entries) and found it hard to follow. However, this time it was the same style and it wasn’t an issue.
If I had dismissed it based on previous experience, I would have missed out on a hilarious and seriously steamy story. I loved how Phoebe and Oliver tried to spice things up in the bedroom, I laughed at Phoebe’s musings and felt for her when she was thrown a curveball.
As someone who has been in a relationship for over 25 years, I found lot of the dialogue and situations between the two of them were so relatable, and I came away from the story with a few ideas too 😉

It was a nice easy read, i had no trouble reading trough the book. The plot itself was not like what had been implied in the back of the book, there was barely any conflict outside of their relationship issues.
It was nice though, pretty well written and made me feel like there’s hope in maintaining a relationship, no matter how broken it may seem.
I like how it’s written in a span of a year and how in the end of the book they look back and compare how things were in the beginning. It’s also in a diary format and i like it cause it feels personal. The writing is funny because the character is. And it didn’t feel forced as in some days had a lot of entry and some days were skipped or just had a little entry.
The characters could’ve had more depth, as i had trouble navigating between the characters at first. The lack of visual description of the main character also bothered me a little because i couldn’t help be see phoebe as an unnatractive middle aged woman, and yet so many men seems to be attracted to her.
I really liked the sexual theme of it, makes it more interesting and less like a boring broken relationship story. I also like how they’re so in love with eachother and how they seem to be such good parents.
I loved the ending, i think it ties up very well with having Lucy and Hazel over.

Predictable and a little pointless
It's not that I disliked the book, I just didn't understand the point of it. For the most part it was well written and had some funny moments. Written entirely in the first person, the reader certainly gets to know the protagonist, her quirks and her sense of humour but the overall feel of the book is quite one dimensional.
"The naughtiest rom-com you will ever read" is a bit of a stretch. There are rare moments of naughtiness but nothing that would make you blush. Most of the sex related content is fairly mundane and not at all detailed.
However, the most frustrating thing about this book is its lack of direction, lack of climax, the lack of an antagonist and its very predictable ending. It is literally about an unmarried woman in a long term relationship who isn't having sex. Sadly the couple start having sex again all too quickly and from there you wonder what the point of this story is. Written as a personal diary, there is also a lot of content that to me was just unnecessary filler.
Altogether a fast but disappointing read.

RELIGHT MY FIRE by JOANNA BOLOURI.
Phoebe and Oliver have fallen into a rut. They have a young child, busy jobs and are both caught up in the daily grind of life.
Despite still being very much in love, their sex life has dwindled to being non existent.
Both keen to regain their spark, Phoebe and Oliver book themselves in for some couple therapy.
They both come away from the sessions with more than they bargained for, but will it make or break their relationship?
With some very likeable characters and sub plots going on, this book is relatable, honest and such romping good fun!
Joanna Bolouri says it like it is. She writes with such side splitting humour and blunt honesty.
If you are easily offended by some graphic descriptions of sex and lots of swearing, this really isn’t the book for you.
Personally, I though it was bloody brilliant.
I give this book five hilariously hot stars.

3.5 stars. I'd give this 4 stars for the consistent humour, likable characters and blunt truths about sexuality in a long-term relationship. I'd bump it down to 3 stars, however, for how easily Oliver and Phoebe's issues sexual seemed to be resolved. It seems implausible that they quickly got back into having creative, prolific amounts of sex and didn't really backslide into bad habits at all. Most counsellors would also agree that their couple's therapist shouldn't have seen them as a couple given her long history working with Phoebe on an individual basis, as that would immediately undermine the couple's ability to see the therapist as neutral. Still, I read this for laughter and for the balls-out frankness Bolouri brings to the table, and I wasn't disappointed in either of those respects!

I really didn't enjoy this read, I don't think it was something I would usually pick up so this probably explains it!
Firstly, I found it to be quite similar to the Why Mummy Swears series but more focused on Phoebe and Oliver's actual relationship, but it was quite similar and it was also written in a kind of diary format with different sections for different days - this bit I enjoyed!
I thought it would be a nice light read and it definitely was, however towards the end I did start losing my focus - I would say this happened about 60% of the way through - and I just got extremely bored of reading it! I feel like it just went on for too long with not much different happening in each month!
Definitely something you would enjoy if you like a relationship, romance, light read - just not my go to genre!
Firstly, I found it to be quite similar to the Why Mummy Swears series but more focused on Phoebe and Oliver's actual relationship, but it was quite similar and it was also written in a kind of diary format with different sections for different days - this bit I enjoyed!
I thought it would be a nice light read and it definitely was, however towards the end I did start losing my focus - I would say this happened about 60% of the way through - and I just got extremely bored of reading it! I feel like it just went on for too long with not much different happening in each month!
Definitely something you would enjoy if you like a relationship, romance, light read - just not my go to genre!

I was really excited to read this book. The blurb really attracted me. Unfortunately this book was not for me. It was too much cliché to my taste, and I was really disturbed by the way the characters talk. Way too many swear words on almost every page of this book. Too vulgar to my taste. I am not a very big fan of characters who swear all the time and it was the case in this book. On a positive note, I liked the way the chapters were build. It was like written as a diary with 12 chapters for the 12 months of the year. Also the topic of this book was appealing and also very important to talk about as loss of sexual relationship in a long term relationship is very common. I just didn't like the way the book was written. A little disappointment for me here.

Absolutely loved this book. When marriage needs spicing up and in comes the form of therapy and a jar for the bedroom, just couldn't put this book down. Such a heart warming true to life situation book which alot of people can actually relate to. I would say it's so relatable kinda a little hard to admit at first but the light heartless of this book shows there is light to this common situation.
If your stuck in a rut and the bedroom had become abit of a sleep zone due to jobs, stress, family and just full on trying to survive in this crazy world, this book is the light hearted read just may just need.
Lots of funny one liners that really made me laugh out loud, definitely keeping this book as a go back to if life every gets in a crappy place.
