Another good romantic comedy from Ms Frost. This is the 3rd in the series but the second book I have read. Marius is the moody, ex navy seal with a quick wit that is the perfect match for Gretchen. She is unconventional and a little crazy in a good way. The banter between the two is fun. The antics that the get into is unorthodox to say the least. It not a surprise that they think it is okay to have a baby so that Marius can get a good job in DC. The story is fun with sexy scenes. These two along with the crazies in town make this worth a read. If you are looking for a fun, sexy read, this is it.
The author also touched on serious issues and handled them with grace. Marius lost a leg during his tour as a Navy seal and his issues are at the forefront of his behavior. Yet, the author still made the story fun and had some really funny scenes with his prosthesis. Can't wait for the next book!

Although this book is part of a series you do not need to read any of the previous books in order to read this one, a bit like i have done.
Marius has only very recently returned home as a wounded veteran from the Navy and comes foul of Gretchen and her defence of the handicap parking place that he rolls up into.
Gretchen is a woman who has been turned upside down by the fact that he 58 year old father has decided to marry his 22 year old intern, 2 years her junior.
Although they start off on the wrong foot they both end up helping each other and an error on her part leads them to find themselves in sticky waters, then deciding that their only option is to make a child the old fashioned way.
This book is full of humour and laughs, but mainly the book is about fear and acceptance of what you cannot change and how you can take what you are given and make lemonade.
I certainly look forward to reading more from this author.

Wargasm is a serious story that never takes itself too seriously. Sosie Frost takes readers back to the town of Butterpond where the residents are as quirky as the name is cheesy and sets about stealing your heart. Marius and Gretchen are not each other's first choice. He's a bloody, battered soul. She's a touch neurotic. Yet despite the odds they fit. In life and love the greatest blessings are the one's we never saw coming, but are hopeless to live without. Heaven help my heart.

The Payne Family is back and next up in this series of emotionally and physically bruised brooding sexy bunch is Marius. Marius is a Navy Seal, at least he was until a career ending injury took that away from him and now he’s trying to figure out his new normal, whatever that may be.
Gretchen is just going through the motions as her father and his very young fiancée plan their happil-ever-after. Of course she’s not happy about their impending nuptials but she will go along with it as long as her father is happy, she just has to figure out where she fits in to this new family her father is about to start. Luckily for her, Marius is willing to help her navigate her new path and will do his part to make sure that they both enjoy it whether they have their clothes off or on.
If this story had been centered around Gretchen and Marius alone, this would have been a good read but add in his merry band of brothers and what seems to be mostly elderly townsfolk and you have the makings for a very entertaining, sometimes hot and sexy, romantic read. Gretchen and Marius were undeniably meant for each other they just had to figure that out while getting to know each other and that was the fun part. Of course the tons of great sex they had helped a lot. There were moments of laughter, anger , and professes of love that made for a wonderfully entertaining read

If "Babyjacked" is about second chances & trust and "Boyfrenemy" about hope & honesty, then you can add the third love story in this series, "Wargasm," to be about fear & acceptance.
Gretchen and Marius definitely have a meet cute that gets awkward fairly quickly. All Gretchen sees is a hot guy who is parked illegally. She flirts with him but is also about him not taking advantage of the law, not knowing he's actually using a prosthetic limb. Marius sees a sexy distraction he is enjoying flirting with who eventually hits his sore spot about being disabled after a SEAL op. They're still hot for each other but now things are incredibly awkward between them. So begins the love story of Gretchen and Marius.
Gretchen is at a turning point in her life when the story kicks off. Her father is getting remarried to someone much younger and while she's moved out, she seems to be somewhat floating in life. She has her job, her love of animals, and her dad. She wants more but at the same time fears change. Marius is back home with his 4 brothers that he's not always gotten along with as well as a little sister he adores after a hospital stay to recover from his injuries both physically and emotionally. He's healed physically but emotionally, Marius has a long road ahead of him.
Gretchen intrigues Marius, not just cause he finds her sexy and quirky, but she makes him smile which is something that he doesn't do often. I totally bought that because while I see Gretchen as a work in progress, her issues differ from Marius's and don't impact her overall sunny disposition. She makes him enjoy life when he is with her. In return, Marius challenges Gretchen out of her rut. Sosie Frost totally sells them falling in love, especially with their banter. Also what works? A good dog sidekick character. Canine troublemaker Ambrose does his part entertainingly in this tale.
I really enjoyed the love story of Gretchen and Marius. Readers see them both heal each other as well as grow individually, realizing there are some things they cannot change no matter how much they hide from the truth and that eventually you have to accept what you can't change in order to move forward. "Wargasm" is sexy and fun, something Sosie Frost specializes in with her books. (She is one of the few authors I read who really excels at making a romance be both hot and hilarious so that I actually laugh aloud during some comedic moments)

This is the first novel by this author I have read, so I can speak from experience that you do not have to read the other novels in this series to enjoy this one.
And don't get me wrong, there is something to be enjoyed about this novel. To be frank, I think they did a phenomenal job with the inner demons faced by a lot of military members when they come home from war.
The rest of this... this whatever it was? Hahahahah NO.
I thought I was getting a story where two friends agree to have a child. What I got? Was two people we were literal STRANGERS who if they only had better communication would not have found themselves in the predicament they were in. And still this may have been salvageable, if the approach had been better. I feel like for strangers, there should have been a more rational discussion before he just takes her virginity and spends the rest of the book banging her every chance he gets in an attempt to get her pregnant.
The final complaints are the constant instances where the wrong words are used (although, I am hoping this will be resolved before the final print), and the overuse of the word tummy. Yes, I will fully admit that the last part is a personal pet peeve of mind, but when you read passages like "I am going to put a baby in your tummy" and "the alcohol choose that moment to swirl in my tummy" it makes it hard to stay invested. These are adults. They should be speaking like it.
I do believe there are people who will enjoy this novel (as evidenced by the 4 and 5 star reviews it has already accumulated), however this one was just not for me. I do not believe I will continue on with the other stories in this series.

Wargasm by Sosie Frost a five-star read that will have you having lots of argasms. This is the third book in the Payne Brothers Romance but each book can be a stand-alone. This time it’s the turn of wounded War hero Marius Payne, he may be broken but he wont be beaten down, well unless that beat down comes in the form of a certain little lady Gretchen Murphy and what a lady, she will heard more that Geese in this crazy, wild story. Sosie Frost is one of those authors more people need to know about, she writes fun and flirty with a side of crazy but wraps it up into a fantastic package.

I enjoyed this one too just like the first two books. I will admit though that this one is my least favorite so far. I say that because I saw that she is planning on writing another one. I was glad that everything worked out for Gretchen and Marius but I wasn't a fan with how it all went down. The reason being was that they were trying to have a baby for all the wrong reasons. Thankfully they got it all together in the end and everything was right.

Quirky Read
This was an interesting take on an injured soldier returning from war. The way the author wove in the importance of loved ones helping in the healing process. I love that this story really intermingled with previous reads, and reiterated the the farm and how they are truly a family.

I. LOVED.THIS.BOOK! Sosie's books are always a good read. This book, by far is my favorite. The banter between Gretchen and Marius was amazing. And the humor. There are so many scenes throughout that had me rolling. I can't recommend this book enough!

I absolutely adore this series - I was laughing out loud half the time and describing what was happening to my hubby the other half. This series is a definite must read if you like humorous romance books, Marius was the one that i had been most intrigued about when I read the first 2 books and I'm so glad he got his story and his HEA - honestly this was just TOO GOOD. I never realized a dog could be so entertaining - oh, and the other animals on the farm too - I can't even describe the entertainment I experienced - you have to read it for yourself.

This was such a good, heart-string puller of a book. What do you do when a wounded Vet is so angry at the world, but then you get a couple glimpses of the Knight in shining armor he really can be. And the war in your head that tells you to stay away from him, as you have your own agenda in life, keeps tearing away at that wall of stubbornness. Then an unexpected turn of events takes your Knight away from not only you, but his family that truly does need him. Will anyone be able to change his mind to make him stick around or will he end up leaving everyone behind for his artificial dream job? Read this book to find out.

I finished but I probably shouldn't have. I enjoy a good fucked up war hero turned destroyed lover type of romance but fuck all he had more problems than I could handle! The thing that got me was I imagine she was intended to be strong and determined but she just came off as clingy and needy. I couldn't do a one star because I did finish it and some of the scenes weren't terrible but it wasn't enough for me...Maybe a 1.5 stars.

This book. Wargasm. WOW. It's the absolute best mix off the wall crazy, sexy, sweet, sadness and that much talked about insta-love!
Going back to the town of overpopulated Wildlife, and hilarious gossiping townsfolk Butterpond. The next Payne Brother to bite the dust is Marius- after a run-in with the local Geese Police Officer Gretchen, whose tirade about parking leads into territory beyond her duties- the two begin an all-out battle of wits... throwing in their whole bodies for leverage!
What starts out as fun, hot filtration becomes healing of both mind, body, and soul for them both, if they will let it.
Move over boys-- Marius is my new favorite Payne brother! WOO!
He's a retired Navy SEAL who fights terrorists, ferocious bird dogs, Geese looking for the goods, hairless Alpacas, does Covert Night Ops for urine laden objects... and lives for crazy... Whats not to love?

There was not a thing I didn't heart about this book! Laugh out loud scenes, so much love mixed in with the crazy. (I don't think she was all that crazy. Personally, I think it was just that right amount. Just saying ) The heart mending in the story is done in a way that I appreciated, not overly dramatized, more authentic, in my opinion, made for the wild and absolute hilarious that follows fit perfectly.
Heat level dirty, flirty, and set to intense. I appreciated, and virtually high fived the author for how the issues that arose during the sexcapades were discussed( or handled haha), and boundaries are pushed, broken through, and it's not all the female who has the issues in the tale ( THANK YOU!!)
Another well-written story that has further sucked me in. I am fully invested in this wonderfully messed up family and their crazy town.
I cannot WAIT for Vairus Payne's Story SixtyNine EEEKKK

Returned from his overseas assignment as a Navy Seal, Marius has lost a leg and his purpose in life. He's battling to make his body strong again after a lengthy hospital stay and multiple surgeries. When he first sees the quirky Gretchen stomping up to his truck parked in the handicap space, he is at times amused, at times angry, but mostly aroused as Gretchen attempts to evict him from the handicapped parking space.
Gretchen, an animal control officer in her hometown, takes her job as a civil servant seriously and isn't going to allow the elderly residents of her town go into a tizzy over misuse of their coveted handicapped parking space. Evicting Marius from the space will also give her a chance to talk with the stunningly handsome man. Sosie Frost paints such a vivid and funny picture of this first encounter.
Throughout the book, the tone of the story flips from hilarity in the picturesque town of Butterpond to achingly serious as topics such as PTSD, the adjustments returning veterans must make to reintegrate into civilian life and the heartbreak both Marius and Gretchen feel as they try to open themselves up to a real relationship crop up. The eccentric backdrop created by the small town and its residents helps to balance the more serious themes explored in the book.
The chemistry between Marius and Gretchen is intense and both characters are strong in their own unique and entertaining ways, making this a fun romance read. Once I started the book, I finished it in one sitting, as I needed to find out whether Marius could regain some perspective, get over himself and learn to accept Gretchen into his life. As Marius begins to reenter the world and work on a relationship with Gretchen, he is at times distant and even mean to Gretchen as he tries to keep his protective walls in place. Gretchen has a bit too much patience with his bad behavior during Marius's more depressed episodes.

Gretchen Murphy is 24 and the local animal control officer. She finds herself struggling with the idea that her dad is about to marry a woman, Chloe, who is younger than she is while she can't seem to find the right guy.
Marius Payne is a former Navy Seal who was injured while serving overseas and lost part of his leg. He has come back to the family farm but is not sure what he wants to do with his life and where he sees himself.
When Marius and Gretchen meet sparks fly over the parking spot where Marius is parked and soon neither can get the other off their mind.
When Gretchen tries to "help" Marius with an interview things don't go well and Gretchen needs to decide how far she is willing to go to help Marius.
This is such a great story with so many laughs and a of course a few moments that tug at your heart.
Gretchen was such a great character and I loved the issues that she was going through in the book with her father and also what happened with her job. The parking incident was awesome and I loved her dog and the trouble it got into. There were so many laughs!
Marius was such a good guy who had been through so much overseas and had to figure out where he saw himself in the present/future. He knew that he didn't really want to be on the farm but also knew he was kind of stuck unless all the siblings agreed on the same thing.
I loved the scene at the interview and what Gretchen thought was happening to what was actually happening and then you she continued to make a mess out of the whole situation. I laughed so hard through this part.

Towards the end of the book I felt bad for what Marius and Gretchen were going through but I loved how it all worked out!
The next Payne book is sure to be exciting with the Mayor getting rid of alcohol!
Marius Payne is a former Navy Seal who was injured while serving overseas and lost part of his leg. He has come back to the family farm but is not sure what he wants to do with his life and where he sees himself.
When Marius and Gretchen meet sparks fly over the parking spot where Marius is parked and soon neither can get the other off their mind.
When Gretchen tries to "help" Marius with an interview things don't go well and Gretchen needs to decide how far she is willing to go to help Marius.
This is such a great story with so many laughs and a of course a few moments that tug at your heart.
Gretchen was such a great character and I loved the issues that she was going through in the book with her father and also what happened with her job. The parking incident was awesome and I loved her dog and the trouble it got into. There were so many laughs!
Marius was such a good guy who had been through so much overseas and had to figure out where he saw himself in the present/future. He knew that he didn't really want to be on the farm but also knew he was kind of stuck unless all the siblings agreed on the same thing.
I loved the scene at the interview and what Gretchen thought was happening to what was actually happening and then you she continued to make a mess out of the whole situation. I laughed so hard through this part.

Wargasm by Sosie Frost is simply amazing! The Payne brothers are back and it’s Marius’s turn to get his HEA.
Marius is an injured SEAL recently returned to the family farm. He is coping (sort of) with his new life as an amputee and uncertain future. Being back in Butterpond is the last thing he wants and exactly what he needs.
Gretchen works for animal control and is Micah’s best friend. Along with her best friend and sidekick, her bordie collie Ambrose, she runs Butterpond’s Geese Police (you read that right). She’s feisty and dealing with her own issues when she first meets Marius.
From their first meeting, sparks fly. The banter between Marius and Gretchen is witty and s*xy. Although their deal is unconventional, it works for the two slowly bringing them each to points where they are living life rather than simply existing.
The book is hysterical! I was reading this poolside and I could not stop myself from laughing aloud. If Butterpond was a real place, I would move there for the Town Council meetings (and don’t tell my husband I said so but also to check out those Payne brothers up close). Ms Frost develops a story that I felt immersed in through the blossoming romance and the hilarious descriptions of their life situations (Jerry Springer, the geese at the pond, Alicia’s new friend, etc) helping to paint a picture of a small town where everyone is family. There were a few typos but as I received an ARC of the book, I believe they will be corrected by time it is released (they do not take away from the book in any way).
I can’t wait for the next Butterpond and Payne adventure!

But first, he'd have to let her in. Marius Payne and Gretchen's biggest problem was lack of communication. It was not love at first sight for them but there was definitely a spark. Gretchen was so hell bent on stopping her father from getting married again, she did not think that her father Elijah Murphy was using the right head. She was determined not to fall in love with Marius. But it was a done deal. He was not the kind of man she ever thought she would end up with. She knew that he was still broken from his no longer being a Navy Seal and adjusting to life with one leg. That did not matter to Gretchen. Her father was getting a new life with his new wife and no longer needed her help. She wanted a new life with Marius.
Marius, on the other hand, fell heads over heels in love with Gretchen. He thought that she was the most beautiful woman in the world, but she deserved someone better than him. Someone not broken. If he were to be completely honest with her she may hate him. But, being without her was no choice. He decided to come clean and let the chips fall where they may.
Sosie wrote a sweet and heartwarming story about a wounded sailor's adjusting to his new life as a civilian with one leg and the woman who fell in love with him just the way he was. The flirtatiousness of Marius with Gretchen was soooooo hot and on point. The monthly meetings of the town is always hilarious. The comic relief in this story was on point, especially with the Payne brothers. This story was a joy to read with just enough balance of seriousness and comic relief. Great job Sosie!

Butterpond is the kind of small town only its residents could love. This is the third book in the series about a family of siblings living and loving in this quirky locale, and as much as I absolutely adored the previous two books, I have to say Wargasm is my favorite so far.
I think I fell in love with Marius even faster than Gretchen did. He’s a broody yet flirty, smooth-talking, wounded veteran, a former Navy SEAL with a tortured soul who has come home to recuperate and figure out where to go next – anywhere, really, as long as it isn’t Butterpond.
Gretchen is everything he doesn’t want to want in a girl, and she falls so fast for him she can’t help but grab onto him and make him fall at the same time. These two have chemistry like it’s going out of style and their romance is just about the hottest thing ever written.
This author’s writing style is beyond brilliant. Not just well-written characters and enchanting prose taking the reader on an adventure, reading this like being yanked up off your chair and twirled around the dance floor so fast it makes your head swirl and leaves you breathless yet ready to beg for more.
The HEA is emotionally satisfying for our young couple, and delightfully entrapping for poor Marius and his future plans. He’s getting everything he ever deserved, whether he wants it or not, and it’s just about the best thing ever. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Love this series and all those Payne boys. (Each book in the series features a different brother and/or the one sister.) This book it is Marius up to bat. He's a brooding injured former Navy SEAL. He's not allowing himself to heal after he returned home due to his injury (amputee.) Internally he feels less of a man and who is lost, not quite sure what to do with his life as a civilian. Although he has his family here at home, he doesn't feel he belongs, and despite their encouragement, he won't let them help. Meanwhile, Gretchen is lonely and looking to find her Mr. Right. She believes she will know the moment she see's him. Believing in Love at First Sight, like her parents. She's a little quirky and often finds herself humiliated due to miscommunication (on her own behalf.) She is a hoot! There is a lot more humor in this book versus the others. Plenty of LOL moments. All the characters are wonderfully different and unique. And they all bring something to the story, even if they only play a minor role in the book. The animals try, and sometimes do, steal the show in every scene they are in. ;) There are a couple scenes where tears are tempted to fall. There is a lot of sexual content. You will really feel the pain these two folks feel. You hurt when they hurt. It's well written and has the perfect blend of light humor and serious emotion. It alternates between POVs. Recommended for mature readers.

Some parts are funny, for example, the arguments between Gretchen and Marius.Their characters are great, a little bit crazy maybe, because they live their life dealing with the loss of his leg and and her fear to be lonely, so they make choices that nobody would do. Their attraction is undeniable even if they’re lying to themself to continue their relation. Their feelings are well described and their crazy idea about having a baby for a job and to not be lonely is crazy too…but so logical in their behavior.
Marius an ex SEAL who lost his leg during military service. When he comes back to his little town with his brothers and sister, he meets Gretchen who is an animal control officer (her job is to scare geese, like this they will leave town and the citizen will be protect from them…..yes, it’s her job…)
They’re attracted, but they are confused. She has to deal with the future wedding of her father with a 22 years old woman (and Gretchen is 24), she knows he will leave her to live in Bahamas with his new wife. Marius is attracted to her, but he feels like a monster and she doesn’t deserve one. Moreover is wants a job far from their little town and he asks her to be his fake girlfriend. But during the interview (that she didn’t know it was and it’s a real funny part) she says she’s pregnant to help him. Now they have to find a way to have this imaginary child despite all they have to face.

Their relationship was raw and gritty at times, passionate and caring at others, but throughout it all, it was something that felt oddly relatable. The dramas in this book were fantastic, like with her father’s marriage, I loved seeing the Payne siblings and all of their craziness, and I just really loved this story!

The third visit to the Payne family farm and another winner from Ms Frost...
The very serious and poignant story of a war hero sustaining a life altering injury, then facing many insecurities and personal dilemmas because of it, is well balanced with great humour and family bickering which really lifted what could be quite a difficult subject. Once again the alpaca made me laugh out loud😂
Marius is really struggling to readjust his life to one outside the Navy which is all he has known and loved for 15 years. Having been an elite SEAL and faced some of the most horrific things war can throw at him he finds his injury embarrassing and even more difficult to cope with.... then comes Gretchin a little fire cracker who calls him on his nonsense and doesn't let him brood...
she finds herself in the most ridiculous situations which again made me chuckle and cringe in equal quantities!! They settle into an arrangement and an interesting relationship that just works... but with neither of them admitting their feelings and omissions of truth getting in the way.... will they manage to make it as a couple?
Full of the usual humour and insight (and the obligatory crazy town meeting) that you would expect from Sosie this book is so much more than the title suggest... be like Gretchin and give Marius a chance😉

Wow! I loved Gretchen and Marius. They were perfect for each other. She was the only one who seemed to be able to get through all the defences he put up around himself, after his accident.
She could see him as a person, a man, and not an invalid, who lost his leg!
Marius was hell bent on being alone and not letting anyone in, including his own family. He was afraid to share his pain in case it made him look weak but Gretchen got past all if it!
He also helped Gretchen along the way too, helping her see that she didn't have to be lonely.
Gretchen had some hilarious moments along the road of this relationship and the bit with the geese attacks, made me laugh so hard, I actually had tears!!
I love all of Sosie's work but this book has a special place in my heart! I loved that she was able to soften Marius but he was also still fierce and loyal and able to finally realise he deserved the love he had from Gretchen, so easily! He also had a filthy mouth, so that helps too! Lol
Another fantastic book in the Payne brother series. I'm looking forward to the next installment and I hope it's Varius's book that we get next! But who is going to tame his heart?

I received this as an ARC and voluntarily leave my honest review.
This is the first book I've picked up by this author and while I felt the book flowed along ok, I found the later parts to be more enjoyable then the first half and I struggled not to skim or stop all together, this one just didn't wow me sorry. This is book 3 in the series but I felt you can definitely read this one as a standalone with no issues.
I really couldn't love the two main characters, I found Marius hard to like at all and he was so back and forth all the time that he nearly did my head in... add to that all the cheesy innuendo's that weren't funny and I nearly gave up on him.
Gretchen was very naïve and I felt a bit awkward reading about her, she seemed to always be jumping to wrong conclusions and embarrassing herself, not sure it she was meant to be funny but it certainly didn't come across that way. I get that she felt "alone" but agreeing to have a baby with someone you don't really know is a little OTT to me.
All Marius's brothers seem to have some trauma or issues they need to work through and I just couldn't feel the connection with them, unfortunately I don't think this series is for me.

Wargasm is actually quite a serious story underneath all the comic relief that Sosie Frost more than adequately provides. Behind the facade of hilariously embarrassing seductions gone wrong, awkward family-time scenarios, and even weirder farm animals, Sosie touches on issues of veteran readjustment to civilian life, as well as the callous, almost too-casual way that society - even those who should know better - treat these same veterans who sacrifice their lives so others could live.
I enjoyed the hilarity in the book, but I loved that the author was able to use humor in such a remarkable way to get her readers to notice certain issues.

Gretchen is a bit of a mess, she is an animal control officer but can't really control her dog, her dad is marrying someone two years younger than her and leaving the little town they live in, and she seems to make a fool of herself at every turn. When she sees Marius for the first time in a long time, she lectures him on his parking in a handicapped parking spot, proceeds to make an absolute fool of herself, only for him to prove that yes he does have the right to park there. In that quick introduction Gretchen found herself oddly entranced by the Seal, his yumminess and the witty banter that he was able to serve her had her very interested. When she ends up owing Marius a favor, she never would have thought she would have gotten into a position of agreeing to have a baby.
This was a funny, quirky, feel inducing read. I felt for Gretchen with everything that she had going on, Marius was along for the ride for most of the book. I about died when they got stuck in Chloe's house, that was sooo freaking funny! The sexy times were really good, some drama, and some really funny antics, I give this 4 stars.
