What's more important? Loyalty or Honor? Respect or Money? Blood or Mud? There's a pandemic sweeping the globe called crack and Bryson Daniels is hellbent on introducing it to the streets of Dallas, Texas. He wants in on the ground floor, so he along with four friends that he's known since fourth grade Chuckie, Ronnie, Cutty and Peanut intend to corner a market yet to be made available to the public. True to teenaged angst and naivety, the five friends forge a pact, a blood oath of when they are adults ready to retire from the game, their children will take over their respective roles in the organization that they've built. There's one problem though, Bryson Daniels is the only one of the friends that has a daughter and their sons have made it painfully clear that they'll never take orders from a woman. Is Blood really thicker than water or will Bryson's friends remain loyal? There can only be one king, anything else left on the board was a toy soldier, a mere pawn. Love has a strange way of turning the tables in any given situation, even when you're handed a sure fire win.

**CHECKMATE **
This was a great read. I enjoyed the camaraderie between Bryson, Chuckie Black, Ronnie Mo and Cutty James.The boys had a seemingly unbreakable bond. After tragedy strikes Bryson at a young age it changes him and his outlook on life.
This book takes us back to the beginning of the crack epidemic and the toll drugs had on the fiends and dealers. The crew of friends created a lucrative business with the intention of passing it down to their 1st offspring. What happens when pride won't let you take orders from a girl? This book also tugged at my heartstrings. I laughed and cried with the characters. THERE were definitely a few twists and turns that I did not see coming. Ask yourself this.

Bishop was a good read. After reading multiple novels by this author, I'm convinced he has a gifted mind. I loved how he incorporated characters from his other novels. He makes you feel as if you were right there. If you're looking for a great read with a plot twist that will have you questioning what you read, this is the book for you. I definitely recommend this book

This book deserves 4.5/5 stars. After my second reading, I had more questions that answers. I still want to know what the detectives knew from Tarin’s conversations & lots more. I love the engaging writing style of the author and his detailed weaving of the story so that all characters faced each other. I truly enjoyed it the second time around.

Five Friends
This book takes you back to the beginning of the crack epidemic the story starts with five friends with a pact and plan. The author created a tale where the journey of the lives of the friends begins and the drama starts to unfold with money comes problems. In the story friendship will be questioned loyalty is tested and deception is high. This book was a definite page turner from the first page with the violence,disloyalty,and triumphs the author kept me guessing and anticipating what would happen next. The plot and twist pulled you in to where it was hard to put it down the ending was the ultimate shocker. Blacc Topp created a story that would make a great movie. Excellent job I give this book 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Amazing read!
Wow! I haven't read this genre in a while but I am had I read this. This was an entire movie line. I didn't think the author would have the plans made by 14 year old boys to come to fruition. I expected them all to be on top of the world but that's not how it turned out. I loved how life got in the way. I loved the raw emotions exposed and I especially loved how the author portrayed how the best laid plans will turn on a dime. Everyone says the love of money is the root of all evil but I think it was love that started the breakdown. One of the best reads this year. Well done Blacc Topp.

Blacc Topp broke my heart. I don't know how I expected this one to end, but this ending wasn't what I expected!
Forcing myself to take my time during this reread, I was completely blown away with all the deception. The trickery. The hurt! Blacc Topp always pens an intricate tale. Bryson and Bishop were my favorite characters. Jamal was the one I HATED THE MOST! Lordt he worked my nerves. Of course I will be reading more from Mr Topp. In a world where everybody wants to read a series, this standalone did a wonderful job getting all the questions answered

Wow. This book was a whole lot! We see 2 generations of people. The first generation is 5 friends and the second generation was the kids of the 5 friends. The friends make a pact to be loyal and get money but betrayal and greed threatens to break that pact. The death toll is EXTREMELY high in this book and the secrets will take you out! Nothing is at it seems in this book, remember that.
