Rate this book
Redemption By Stephanie Baldi, Nominated for Georgia Author of the Year!

Murder is the catalyst pushing Carrie Overton headlong into the arms of the hitman sent to kill her.

Determined to escape her alcoholic and drug-addicted mother and distance herself from the memory of the son she lost, Carrie leaves home with Travis Montgomery, a man twenty years her senior who harbours shocking secrets connected to her past.

After Travis forces her to help him steal two million dollars from a drug lord, leaving two people dead, Carrie decides to add a third victim to her list, and Travis is left lying on the floor.

Eager to start over, she takes the stolen money and travels to the small mountain town of Laurel, Pennsylvania. Carrie lies about her past and relaxes into her new life. Before long, Carrie's lies are piling up, and her crimes are about to catch up to her.

Nicholas D'Angelo is known as a ghost, a contract killer for one of the biggest drug lords in Miami. His assignment is simple. Find the people, who stole the two million dollars, recover the money and eliminate them.

With a hitman on her trail, Carrie is forced to make a choice. Trust the hitman who vows to disobey his orders and protect her. Or stay in Laurel and face the drug lord determined to end her life. Either one might kill her.

This was a real page turner. The writing style was written in such a way that it was like watching a movie. Each paragraph revealed like a scene unfolding before your eyes. I sat down and thought I’d only read a few chapters at a time but just couldn’t put the book down. While I did predict the budding romance that did occur, there were many other twists and turns that I could not predict. I really enjoy a thriller when you are kept guessing until then end and this one did not disappoint. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on the next one in the series, Retribution. THANK YOU, Ms. Baldi for the signed advance copy of the book.

I love a book in which the reader can picture every scene and every character. Stephanie Baldi’s, Redemption, does just that. I immediately connected to Carrie Overton, her miserable childhood and equally miserable relationship with Travis Montgomery. The loss of her son, thanks to her drug addicted mother, created the worst heartache imaginable.

After Travis forces her to participate in stealing millions from a drug lord, and events go horribly wrong, Carrie seeks refuge with her dear Aunt May, her mother’s sister. Will her past catch up with her in the form of a hitman hired by the drug lord bent on revenge, or will some another figure from her past get to her first? Will she ever find the son who was sold for two grand, promptly spent by her mother on drugs and alcohol, to a couple passing by?

I went from turning pages as fast as possible, to regretting finishing Redemption. Looking forward to many more books by the author.

I attended her signing as did members of my book club. We were led on a magnificent journey through the realistic lives, of the well-developed characters. It was a thrilling page-turner, leaving our reading club unsatiated for more. We can't wait to read and review the sequel. The author seems to have an innate ability to have captured the believable pattern of behavior, as it related to the portrayal of the plotted characters. In addition to the reality of the underworld, it was very refreshing not to be entangled with the rawness of the seedier side of that life. I believe Mrs. Baldi, is amassing a sizable fan club! I for one am on board! I great anticipation for more to come.

I loved this book! I became emotionally involved with the characters. The author kept coming up with interesting plot twists that were totally unexpected. Definitely not your ordinary suspense novel. Quite the page turner. I couldn't put it down. Highly recommended

Redemption is a well written novel with layers of unexpected plot developments which keep the reader intrigued. The author developed and defined characters and dialogue which kept me turning pages. The sequel sample sounds good as well. I highly recommend this book and look forward to the sequel.

Some of the actions taken in this novel are obvious contrivances to build suspense, but most are believable and the story is certainly suspenseful. Although not all characters are likable, they are compelling. And Amy Deuchler's excellent narration brings this out in the audiobook.

Thankfully, the story does not end in a cliffhanger, but it is set up for a sequel.

Note: I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

A thrilling romance with more twists and turns

Carrie is a strong hearted heroine who finally finds the love of her life. She is confronted by abuse and betrayal for most of her young life. But there is a true spark of courage and joy that helps her to determine her true path. A wonderful first effort by the talented Stephanie Baldi

REDEMPTION: A Gripping Suspense Novel! The Sicario Files Book 1

In Redemption Book 1, the D'Angelo's: Nick, Carrie, and Bobby have become a family. There are still forces, namely Carmela Santiago, out to destroy what they have built. Her shenanigans are next in Retribution Book 2. My first read by author Stephanie Baldi. I plan to finish the series.

And YES, it's that good!

Recommended by my wife, this was a great read. The characters are very interesting and the plot kept me reading far into the night. Nick was my favorite character. He is interesting as a professional and complex enough. I kept thinking and talking about the book long after I finished reading it.

I can't wait for the sequel to come out!

A riveting tale of hardship and love. The characters come alive, showing us the fascinating tale...pulling us with them on the road to redemption. The suspense grips you from the first page and doesn't let up. Stephanie's descriptions are vivid and stirring. A great read creating a longing for a sequel.

Carrie Overton is in deep trouble. The man, Travis, she has been with is brutal and she wants to escape him, but is unsuccessful. Then suddenly she and Travis have killed the pair they were meeting and have money which belongs to others.

Carrie moves to her aunt’s town in Pennsylvania, but troubles follow her.

I wish I could write and explain how great the story and charachters are. It pulls you in and you lose yourself in the story. I can't wait to start the next in the series. I recommend it to all.

Worth your time.

Good story, good characters, and worth your time and money. Sequel already printed. Only gripe, little wordy and was easy to figure the main character line. Recommend.
