Paralegal Daisy Sinclair works for a well-known successful criminal defense attorney in downtown Fort Worth. She works hard and plays even harder, but has a code to never mix business with pleasure. This code is tested when her boss hires Warren Cole as a criminal investigator to partner with her in a case defending a prominent figure against a double murder charge.

Investigator Cole is a gorgeous six foot five former homicide detective and Navy SEAL with piercing emerald green eyes, unkempt jet black hair, caramel tan complexion and rock hard body. When Daisy catches herself imagining him handcuffed to her bed while investigating the crime scene, she soon realizes mixing business with pleasure maybe unavoidable.

Daisy is a strong-willed free spirit who plays by her own rules and Warren is a cocky alpha male who is accustomed to going by procedure. This combination makes for an interesting and entertaining investigative team. As they set out to prove their client’s innocence, they find themselves on a suspenseful winding journey of the many suspects and motives to discover things may not be what they seem, or are they?

Between finding out who committed the murders and the provocative sexcapades this novel is sure to satisfy.

***I voluntarily reviewed this book for Katsindiebookblog, and I gained no monetary incentives nor was I specifically requested to review the book.*** I can honestly say I was surprised when I read this story. I was expecting something totally different after I saw what the title was. However, within Chapter 2, I believe, I was able to figure out why it was named this. Now the cover, not a huge fan of it, but not something I would take off points for. All in all it was a really great mystery, erotic book. There were many twists and turns as well as plenty of action, in and out of the bedroom!
You are introduced to Daisy, a sassy paralegal for a pretty famous lawyer. She’s not one to have relationships due to her busy schedule. She doesn’t feel she can devote the proper time that a relationship deserves. She does have a “friends with benefits” if needed, as well as a few one night stands here and there. Daisy still gets all the pleasure she needs, especially after a hard day at work. It all changes for her when one night she is planning on a one night stand with a fabulous Greek God, till she gets a call for work. She gets told to be in work a little early as they are getting a new investigator to help them out. Well when she walks into work the next day, guess who is standing in the office? The Greek God! These two get put together to work on a murder case, but are they able to keep things quiet between them so they can solve this case? Or will the heat between them be too much to handle? Not only that, but can they keep themselves alive in order to solve this murder?
There is so much going on in this book, not in a clutter way, that will keep you on your toes. Can you figure out who the murderer is? I know I couldn’t. Good thing paralegal Daisy and Investigator Warren were on the case! Enjoy this fabulous read, I know I did!

This is my first read by Ms. Lemons. It most certainly will not be my last. I found the book intriguing.

We meet Daisy Sinclair, an independent woman - working as a paralegal investigator for a solid law firm. She is commitment phobic, has a best friend with benefits and thinks that her world is perfect. Then her boss hires a Navy Seal/retired detective to help investigate and help exonerate a high profile client on a double count of murder. Enter in what is first a chance meeting in a bar, Warren Cole. Can Daisy stand her ground and keep Warren away or will she let the lines blur - or will Warren make it impossible for her to stay away?

Then mix in the subterfuge of the murder investigation, the friend with benefits, and a few old boyfriends. The story is compelling to say the least. Ms. Lemons writing is forward moving, her plot lines are interesting and at times suspenseful. My only real complaint is that at times the sex scenes are clinical, and didn't always work for me. Some of her euphemisms are quite juvenile.

That being said - I will still recommend the book and would really like to see how the series and the author grow. If you are looking for a good romance/mystery - this one is well done.

I received an ARC for a fair and honest review.

“Getting Him Off Quickly” is a great beginning for a new indie author, C R Lemons. I took a moment to read the author bio and can see that she may have modeled Daisy, the female protagonist, a bit after herself. If nothing else she certainly pulled from her years of paralegal experience to write this Mysterotica. The writing style is quite simplistic, straightforward and to the point. I believe that direct style actually helped me in visualizing the scenes. Daisy is both likable and relatable from the start. She is a confident, mature woman who doesn’t mince words, smart as a whip, works hard, plays hard and enjoys a very active libido. When Investigator Warren Cole joins Daisy’s law firm the two must work together to exonerate a client of double homicide charges. Their attraction to one another is immediate and this book is filled with lots of intense sex that are a testament to that attraction. As their case takes twists and turns their relationship does as well. I found this book to be an easy, enjoyable, mature read. It goes much faster that its page numbers imply as the writing style is very straightforward and the chapters move quickly. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery combined with lots of sexual dialogue and scenes.

A cocky and creative title only hints at what the rest of this story has to offer. Daisy and Cole make for an incredibly interesting pair as far as personality, sexual chemistry, and overall enjoyment are concerned. Beyond the endless entertainment of them butting heads and their erotic escapades, a murder mystery unravels, adding layers of depth to an otherwise very sexy story. Combined, the elements of this book create a read that is ‘un-put-downable.’ You can also tell that C.R. Lemons has some serious depth as a writer. Try this book out, I’m positive that there is something fun and interesting in it for everyone.

So, this is supposed to be an erotic romance with mystery tied in..and on the erotic part, the story will fulfill your relationship goal as a reader, but the mystery fell a bit flat and didn’t keep my interested. The narration and editing needed to be a bit better as well. All in all, the romance was good but the rest of it needs work. Will I read what comes next? Absolutely, I am hoping that the writing is improved as she writes more!

Wow. What a story. CR Lemons did an excellent job writing this story. It was fast pace and kept you on your toes to figure out who did it. The sex scenes were fantastic and hot. Now I have to read the series. Each one can be read alone. Enjoy.

This book was smokin Hot mixed in with a mystery. I absolutely loved Daisy. She is spitfire for sure. I wonder what kind of spell she had to make all these fall for her. She had Morgan, who she dated years ago, Mac who was her best friend with benefits and finally Warren, the hot inspector/retired detective that goes all alpha with. Warren isn't happy with all the attention Daisy gets and makes it known multiple times that she is his. Daisy is very good at her job. She gets very much involved and most of the time, it gets her in trouble.. mostly with Warren lol. Anyway, I loved the chemistry they had and how finally she was able to commit to him. The murder/mystery/creeper was interesting to bring into the story. It made it obviously a lot more interesting but it also brought on the guessing game.. who did it the murder along with who was taking money from the accounts? I will definitely be reading the next book in the series. Daisy is a fun character and you never know what we happen to her next.

So the plot was a good one: Paralegal Daisy and Investigator Warren work to clear their client of a murder charge whilst fighting their attraction to each other.

Daisy was a character that has no problems making male friends and using her sexuality to get what she wants, which causes a lot of tension. It was full of twists and turns. However, the writing didn't always flow and felt it was more factual than creating atmosphere with words. I found the language around the bedroom scenes outdated. Please, no more flowers or pleasure rods!

There was a great deal of promise in this book and this author shows potential.

I really wanted to love this story, but I only liked it. It had a great plot that kept me guessing throughout the entirety of the story, but the erotic side of this book put me off. Also, this author didn't use contractions... and to be honest I think that is what truly ruined the book for me. It had so so much potential, but when you are constantly trying to make it sound right in your head it really takes away from the story as a whole. If this book was edited again, to remove all of the "cannot"s and the "I am"s I would bump this story up to a four star. I am interested to see how this series continues because I did enjoy Daisy and the story being told from a lawyery position instead of an sleuth position.

description

Getting him off Quickly was a sexy and humorous 4 star read.
Daisy is a successful defense attorney who finds herself working on a case with Warren Cole the same man that she almost hooked up with the night before but got interrupted.

They both agree to keep their relationship professional however Warren seems to have jealous tendencies, especially when he finds out the kind of friendship she has with Mac.
He can’t seem to keep his feelings for her under control when she’s around other men.

Daisy does have the tendency to have sex on a whim, hence bathroom scene with ex boyfriend. Loved it, very hot! And when she finally connects with Warren, WOW. The chemistry between these two is off the charts hot.

“I want you to be my girl. Nobody else’s. I don’t want to share you with any other man.”

As they work on the case Daisy has gained a stalker and Warren is concerned for her safety and gets alpha male on her. This was a great romance with erotic moments, a great twist, suspense, and mystery that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Will Daisy end up with Mac or Warren?

Getting Him Off Quickly was a great read that you won’t want to put down until your done. The cliffhanger was great, I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Daisy is a hard working paralegal who avoids long term commitment in relationships at any cost. She is currently in a friends with benefits type of relationship with Mac. At least until she meets the new guy, the firm's new private investigator, Warren. The relationship between Daisy and Warren is hot. Not a single page of the book did not have a moment where it did not hold my attention. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great romance read!

FOR 18+ READERERS ONLY. Daisy Sinclair, a strong-willed, intelligent, hard-working, yet sassy paralegal who has a current “friends-with-benefits” relationship with a local jail officer, is about to face a few challenges in her life. Her boss’ new client is a fellow high-profile lawyer who came home the night before to find his partner and wife in uncompromising positions and murdered, although the police feel he is the one responsible for the murder part. Later, after her interview with the new client, Daisy goes to a local bar and meets a tall, hot new guy which leads to a near physical hook-up that night – a hook-up that is interrupted by a call from her boss requesting she come in early the next morning for an important meeting. However, it is this meeting where she discovers that the hot guy she almost connected with is the new detective, Warren Cole, whom her boss has hired to help them investigate the case and clear their client of the charges within the two week period their client has strongly requested. Both Daisy and Warren profess a personal code to keep working relationships professional, but physically the sparks between them says otherwise, especially as Daisy faces a dangerous threat as the investigation progresses. This story is a very erotic romance wrapped within a shell of a mystery thriller. Erotic romance fans will definitely find pleasure within Daisy and Warren’s burgeoning relationship. However, mystery fans will not have much to hold their attention and may feel some flaws in plot presentation. Daisy’s first person narration in the present tense was somewhat disconcerting, seemingly putting the reader in an ongoing gaming environment. Basic writing was good with an acceptable level of editing errors in the edition I read, but a few of these editing errors were consistent throughout the story, making them more evident to the reader.

In this first book from a new indie author, I found the story fascinating with a nice balance between the solving of a mystery while including several scenes of growing sexual tension between the main characters. I did find that the writing style was a bit too straight forward and I struggled with the 'flowery' descriptions, I was surprised that I hadn't figured out who the 'bad' guys were until near the very end. That is predominately why I give this book 5 stars. All to often, I can figure out the mystery by midway through the story and frankly, that detracts from my enjoyment in reading. I hate that. Not so in this book. While I did have a suspicion half way through the book, there were many candidates who could have 'done it'.

The main character 'Daisy' is a smart intelligent and open minded woman who seems to know herself well. She struggles with internal conflicting emotions and desires and yet comes off as real. The other main characters were in my mind a bid unrealistic but I like the idea of Daisy getting it on with multiple partners, even in a single day. Ergo, the romance factor. I do think that Warren needs to grow up a bit. At times, I thought he was being portrayed as a bit too juvenile in his behavior towards the other characters. I loved how he came to Daisy's rescue time and time again. I would have preferred less 'flowery' descriptions and more real life descriptions. You'll know what I mean if you read the book, and I encourage you to do so.

I've already purchased the second book in the series and I am looking forward to reading it too. I think that pretty much sums up how good a book is if you go out and buy the followup. Good Luck Ms Lemons. I hope you do well.

Paralegal Daisy Sinclair is highly allergic to commitment, and she never mixes business with pleasure. She works hard, and plays even harder, but all of that is put to the test with the new employee added to the firm. Daisy works for a very well known criminal defense attorney, and when he brings in Warren Cole to help her investigate the high profile client who is being charged with a double murder, her rule becomes blurred. The more time she spends with the sexy 6" 5' former Navy Seal/homicide detective, the harder it gets to remember her rule, and both of them find it impossible to keep their hands off of each other. Will Daisy and Warren be able to navigate through their strong attraction while finding the real murderer?

This was a great mystery that I loved. The character development is great, with a suspenseful, and well written storyline that flows smoothly. CR Lemons does a fantastic job weaving together intense twists and turns that lead to OMG moments all over the place. Her brilliance with the suspense and mystery kept my heart racing cover to cover. The problem I had was the sexy scene goodness. Daisy's inner monologue describing the hotness didn't work for me. I was very conflicted about writing this, but the words used were very frustratingly like cold water being dumped on me. And believe me, I hated to say that, as the story as a whole, is super addictive and fantastic. I will continue to read this author's work as her premise for this series is awesome!

Daisy is a Paralegal who helps in solving investigations through the law firm. She does her job and does it well. Daisy is asked to investigate a crime and to do it quickly. She is ready and willing but she isn't ready to meet the man who is to help keep her safe.

Warren is an ex Navy Seal and he is hired to assist in the investigation and to also, keep her safe. He quickly begins to have feelings for Daisy. Warren has to fight for attention with Daisy. He doesn't approve of the relationship that Daisy has with Mac.

Meeting Warren and the fact that they both work for the law firm doesn't sit well with Daisy. It fact, it goes against every rule she has worked so hard to follow..

You can't help who you love right?

Now for the things I didn't like about this book.
I feel the author needs to also hear the not-so good things.
There was a few inconsistencies in this book. There would be a chapter saying she did this or that but just one chapter over it would contradict the previous chapter. It wasn't something that would ruin the book. But this inconsistency stood out for me.
Also, there were a few grammar mistakes. Now every book is going to have a grammar mistake. It doesn't matter how many beta's or proofreaders you have.

As I stated these few issues didn't take away from the book. They were just noticeable to me.
4 stars for a well thought out book. I loved reading about the investigation content.

Wow I love this read it had me guessing throughout the whole book who was responsible for a double murder who was after Daisy.... And on top of that I laughed throughout the book with daisies sassy quick comments and loving attitude. You have Warren who is a true alpha alpha who drips with dominants sexiness and how everyone basically does and listens to what he says. And then you have Daisy who is a workaholic is in a friends with benefits kind a relationship with Mac who everyone says that her common-law she is also a quick witty fun and sassy kind a woman who has the attention of everyman around. When you Pirates Warren and Daisy together the sparks fly the tempers flare the sarcastic remarks and the hot sexy days and nights together. I'm not going to give away any of the story as I would recommend for you guys to read because like I said it had me guessing on who was the real murderer who was after Daisy all the way to the end and I was still shocked at the end I had no idea this is definitely a great read and I definitely recommend it!!

C.R. Lemons is the best writer I know. I am one of those annoying readers who actively searches for plot holes. I have yet to find a single one in any of her novels.

So, let's get to my review... I love this book. Daisy is a strong leading lady and I love that. She goes after what she wants even if she doesn't always know what it is right away. She is always growing as a character. The erotic scenes are hot and playful...and classy. C.R. Lemons doesn't make the mistake of compromising her writing for trashy scenes. She has mastered the art of keeping the book classy.

Her male lead is an alpha male to the max! He is awesome. I find many female authors have a difficult time writing for male characters, but Ms. Lemons doesn't have this issue. I never find myself saying, "a man would not say that." She is very talented.

I am glad I had the chance to read this book. I would recommend it to absolutely anyone who loves a good mystery mixed with erotica. Love it. Well done C.R. Lemons.

We meet Daisy Sinclair who works for a well known criminal defense attorney. She works hard but likes to play harder. Daisy is a complete relationship phobe, she's happy in a NSA with Mac the local jail officer. She doesn't mix business with pleasure.

Her boss decides to bring in some help with a high profile client who is up for a double murder charge.

Step forward former navy seal/homicide detective all 6ft 5 of hotness Warren Cole.

The more time Daisy and Warren spend on the case the harder the attraction between them becomes and for Daisy not to mix business with pleasure. The chemistry between them is red hot and when they finally give into their attraction for each other they struggle to keep their hands of each other.

This book will keep you reading and in suspense due to the twists and turns.

I can't wait to read book 2

I recived this book for free for an honest review.
Not the best book I've read..... But saying that they story line is good it's just the way it's written,
It feels like it's ment to be a diary but it jumps as if it's happening right now rather than what's happened during the days .

You have daisy who is in a friends with benefits relationship with Mac until she meets warren a private detective,
Warren and daisy end up working a case together but the chemistry between them really heat up and they both say they can't mix work and pleasure but for how long can they keep their hands of each other.
Will read the next one due to the fact that the story line was great but it could of been better written and spell checked before being published

What a great cross-genre book! I'm sure the author's expertise as a paralegal brought a very realistic feel to this story but either way, it was a great book.

Daisy is a very easygoing likable character who is confident in her job as a paralegal and confident about what she wants from men. She's met her match with with Warren, a sexy ex-cop now working with her at the law firm.

I can't say enough good things about this book. The mystery story by itself is just so compelling and well-plotted and with the addition of the hot relationship between Daisy and Warren added in there wasn't a dull page in the book. You won't put this one down until you've finished.

Quickly

Getting Him Off Quickly is a romantic, fun, loyal, energetic and overwhelming book to read. C.R. Lemons knows just how to get her readers excited about the chapters as they come along in the book. The love triangle between Daisy, Warren and Mac is interesting to say the least and it couldn't have been better written. The couple who ended up together in the end is who every reader should be voting for. Learning who the killer was and who had a part in it was a good cliffhanger and kept the readers guessing. I can't wait to read the next book in the series to see where all these characters go together.

Detective story with lots of erotic overtones
Daisy, a paralegal has a “friend with benefits”, Mac, who adores her. She is work-obsessed and does not have room for a relationship. Then she meets the law firm’s new investigator, Warren, and goes weak at the knees – and elsewhere.
Conflicted emotions and lust then get in the way of a murder investigation into a lawyer being accused of killing his wife and her lover, his law partner.
The writing is basic as is the vocabulary but characters are developed although she seems to meet only hugely attractive men. Some nice typos in my proof edition – my favourite: No harm, no fowl (sic).
Average book and nothing special.

Getting Him Off Quickly was a great start to a series. I was hooked from the first pages. I loved the fast pace of the story and the dimensions of the characters. Daisy is such a great character! And Warren such a good complement to her. I was glad of the complexities of their relationship...it was entertaining. The only downside, which is why it was a 4 star instead of 5 stars was the editing of words and the overuse of 'flower' and 'rod'. It is still a very enjoyable book and I look forward to reading Getting Him Off Secretly to spend more time with the awesome Daisy!

This first book, is such a great story. Its more than just a boy meets girl story. There is a powerful professional women who is an important pat of law office. I love when we get a strong female lead, and she's not perfect. She gets herself into some tough situations that we can all relate too. Great first story, that had me grabbing book 2 as soon as I was done.

This is the fist narrative book I've read and still not sure what I think about this type of book.. The story line is great but didn't like some of the word choices this author used.. Maybe I am not a delicate flower and I don't like men and woman's genitals referred to as rods or flowers.. Use the terms that are appropriate for naming these parts!!!

Oh my, Daisy and Warren have one heck of a story! Daisy is a paralegal that is commitment phobic, in a friends with benefits relationship. In walks Warren, the sexy new investigator for the firm. What follows is a sexually charged battle of wills. Add that to the double homicide that they are trying to solve and you have one thrill ride of a book!
