If Flash is to be the king of the cave world of Mongo, he also has to explore and conquer the adjacent infamous desert. The merciless Emperor Ming expects disaster. Flash, Dale Arden, and Professor Zarkov venture out into an unbroken expanse of brazenly hot wastelands where not even a lizard could live. Can the inventive Prof. Zarkov and fearless Flash find a way to survive? I really had to know what they would find way out where no one had ever survived before. I couldn't care less what the recommended grade level is for this little book--it was fun.

Definitely for little kids. But I'm not sure even little kids would find it terribly compelling.
