The book is lighthearted and a little bit emotion on Leila’s side following the revelation. I totally understood why Lance thought he had to hide his occupation and I thought his actions throughout the book actually made sense; the small restaurant, keeping small circle of friends, the cap every time he leaves the house despite styling his hair, etc. - really loving such small details.
That being said, the ending felt rushed, even with the epilogue, their wedding, Leila’s pregnancy and their children were only mentioned briefly. Heck, there wasn’t even an elaborated chapter on Lance meeting Leila’s mother and Vivian - I would totally die to see how nervous Lance would be to be meeting with them and the reaction of Leila telling her mother of Lance’s old occupation and her acceptance to it. It felt like the author was trying to tie all the loose ends to give a holistic HEA.
