This was my second time reading this series and let me tell you! It was just a messy as the first time lol.. Evelyn, Kayla & Trina’s world wind “friendship” literally had my mouth dropped on several occasions and they took the phrase “with friends like this who needs enemies” to new heights. The amount of times I said “couldn’t be me” was almost every other chapter. In the non fiction world, Evelyn would have come up missing lol because the amount of trifling things this lady got forgiven for should be studied! I listened to the audiobook this time around and these 3 narrators brought their own unique voices and personalities to these characters. They did an amazingly job. As a Brenda Hampton fan, this series did not disappoint either time that I read it. Will I read it a third time in this lifetime? Probably lol

Twisted

I had to put this book down a few times. Trina and Kayla had to be done of the dumbest dizziest broads i have ever seen in my life. With everything that Evelyn did there is no way in the world 🌎 I could ever forgive her. She got what she deserved by Bryson. She used her childhood as an excuse for her bad behavior. Just like Keith said we all been through something. So the book was a bit farfetched. I just don't bring this was real life Evelyn would be forgiven. Since Trina and Kayla decided once again to forgive Evelyn they deserve everything she does to them.

Let me start by saying GREAT READ! I went through so many emotions reading this book....laughing, yelling, and crying because this book had me happy, angry, sad, and tear jerking happy! With a BFF like Evelyn, what the hell would you consider to an enemy? I mean seriously, this chica has major issues! And with a husband like Cedric what would you consider holy matrimony to be? He took Kayla and poor Jacoby through better and worse and then to most worst EVER! He made me so damn angry, I lmao when he died. I was so happy that Kayla, Jacoby, and Evelyn would be free of his ass! The truest friend was Trina! She was ALWAYS there for them through their drama! BUT...she made me so mad when she betrayed Keith! And Mr. Charles Washington...He is such a real OG. I want more books about him! I need more from him!

This series is awesome! I did not want to put it down. My first read from this author but will not be my last.

Oh baby… if messy is what we’re going for, THIS is it right here. This book was GREAT. From start to finish it had my attention, and best believe she embodied every single character. Like nobody felt flat, nobody felt forced. The drama? The emotions? The chaos? Yeah… it was all there, and it was done RIGHT.

This series was alot. It contained highs/lows for each character.
There were points in the stories where I questioned the relatability and actions of the characters.
However, we all know people that are stuck-on-stupid and fail to follow their intuition in bad situations/relationships.
I've not read any books by Brenda Hampton in several years, so this was a good series to read.

I read this as an audio book and I really did enjoy it! Some parts were exaggerated but held my attention nonetheless!
