Betrayal. Tragedy. A horndog troll. Three things Kane just can't avoid. Rebel is on the run.
Kane's partner has disappeared and he's determined to track her down and help her. Whether she likes it, or not. First step? Find the fabled vampire tomb under Buckingham Palace. All signs point to Rebel being there recently.
If only Kane knew someone who could pilot a plane, and fight like a pro. Oh, and who had royal connections.
Enter Dino, the troll. Yeah, he has some high-rolling connections in London. Just don't ask him for any details. Not if you want to hold onto your breakfast.
Kane and Dino use trains, helicopters and magic to cross the United Kingdom in search of Rebel. Can they find her before she makes a mistake that could give the game, set and match to the Vampire Emperor and his allies? Relic: Grail is the action-packed, hilarious fourth book in the Kane Arkwright Supernatural Thriller series, a set of urban fantasy novels. If you like action, comedy, and edgy adventures, then you’ll love Ben Zackheim’s adult fantasy world.

Ben's storytelling adventures started as a Production Assistant on the set of the film, A River Runs Throught It. After forgetting to bring the crew's walkie talkies, losing Robert Redford's jacket and asking Brad Pitt if he was related to Paul Newman (in front of Paul Newman) he decided that film production didn't "speak" to him. Since no one else on the set would speak to him either he knew he needed to find work that required minimal human contact.
Writing. That did the trick.
His three series, Shirley Link, The Camelot Kids and Relics appeal to young and old alike. Emily Neuburger of Parents.com says, "[Shirley Link] is an amazing series!" and Julie Ann Grasso (author of the Adventure of Caramel Cardamom books) says The Camelot Kids will "leave you clutching onto your Kindle." Stephen King says, "I'm not providing blurbs at this time," but Ben is chipping away at King's resolve.
Ben has taken up the writerly life in the Forbidden Forest at 42.5098° N, 72.6995° W.
Four books in and I finally realized that this series is building more than just a mystery—like some enigmatic 1990s Sarah Mclaughlin song—it’s also building what I can only call an EPIC LOVE STORY.
That definitely deserves caps.
Yes. A love story. Or many love stories. A couple, at least. I can’t even decide which one I want to see happen most, because I kind of like them all. (Do note that the love-story angle isn't the main thing. It's just a part of the whole. And it's good. This is solidly UF, NOT PNR.)
On top of the action and fight scenes, there’s this poignancy that’s kind of flooring. It underpins everything. All the jokes, the bawdy humor, and fun. It’s got something else that makes that stuff better than just another innuendo or hilarious joke, but I can’t put my finger on it.
The jokes and the battles are all primitive dances that will eventually lead to something great. Because they have to. Just like in life…
Ha. Well. Books should be better than real life, though.
Anyway, I was kind of ticked off at the end of the last book by…events…but this one brought me back into the fold. Very worth it.
Winning combination of action and laugh out loud humour
This is the 4th book in the urban fantasy series, about Kane & Rebel in particular but with a wide range of surrounding characters, which started with Relic: Blade with a winning combination of action and laugh out loud humour. There was action from the start with a great mixture of new characters and more depth to the ones you already knew from the earlier books. This story was addictive and kept me wanting to read more even though I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning?! This is turning into a great series and I absolutely cannot wait to read more!
An absolutely wild ride. In a twist, the relic is already found, but Kane has to chase down his partner who stole it to complete her own agenda. Further down the relic hunting rabbit hole we delve as Kane travels to multiple points across the world. More answers are revealed, more catastrophes are unleashed, and more laugh out loud moments eat up the miles. Great installment in a dynamite series.
Another exciting ride with Kane Arkwright and friends. This time, his partner Rebel is missing and so is the Holy Grail. Kane, Dino and friends are looking for her, but they aren't the only ones.
I really enjoyed the fast pace of the story. There was continuous action with very little down time...and I was not expecting what happened at the end. This is a must read
Lot’s of new players plus all of the old gang, great progress of the storyline, with a healthy dollop of action. Interesting twists and introductions. Plenty of action and snark. New information on old players and old information on new ones (bwahaha). If you enjoyed the series prior entries you’ll love this one. If you haven’t tried one yet you gotta start at the beginning,...
This series just gets better and better, I couldn't put it down. The relic series is a fantastic set of books and I wholeheartedly recommend any reader who loves Urban Fantasy to buy this book and the other that preceded it.
