Joseph, Lola, and Moses are homeless teenagers in 1950 who have been taken in by three grown-up's who own an orchestra.
The journal gives these three young people a greater hope. This book of blank pages is ready to be filled with their thoughts and adventures.
Then everything falls upon them. Things start making sense.
Is there anyone who can help them forever? Someone who will watch over them, despite the troubles they have? Someone who will protect them from a gang who is ready for anything?

Hi, I'm Rosalyn Rooney! I am a small business owner who loves the Lord Jesus. I'm the author of almost 30 books and love sharing my works with others. Apart from writing, I love crocheting, reading, playing the piano, going for walks, and spending time with friends. I hope I can inspire other writers to share their books for the Glory of God.
I loved writing this book/journal! The characters were fun, the setting was interesting, the adventure and intense parts moved everything along grandly!
Content: Someone sees a lot of blood (not detailed though), , someone finds another person dead (no details other than blood mentioned), a gang dislikes black people (they don't like anyone else though either).
The description and detail were pretty cool along with the way the story is told. Four different personalities. The journal touch to it is pretty cool.
Definitely isn't my favorite book, but it still deserves a four star rating for it was quite enjoyable.
Thanks to R. A. Rooney for allowing me to beta read this!
I really liked the characters in this little book, and the shared-diary format was interesting; I'm not sure I've ever read another book quite like this. :) The plot confused me a little at times, and there was one twist that really threw me for a loop. I think maybe if I'd had a better idea of why they were being targeted at certain points, I might not have been thrown off by the seriousness of some of the situations. Also, the dates were a little confusing--part one says 1950, but part two says 1985, and they haven't aged that much in between. My guess is there's a typo somewhere, but that did throw me off a bit. ;)
One other small observation--the fonts kept throwing me off, particularly one of them where I kept thinking the lowercase "l"s were capitals. Sounds incredibly silly, but it took me a long time to stop having to do a double-take every time I came across it! XD And I didn't understand why Joseph's and Lola's entries were in the same font, but Moses's was different...
Even with the bits of confusion, though, I appreciated the message and really liked the characters. :)
Content--mentions of gangs, kidnappings, and killings; ; mentions of beatings, blood, and wounds (not graphic)
3 stars & 3/10 hearts. This was an enjoyable read. The plot and characters were enjoyable—particularly the characters. There was some hugging between boys & girls. My favourite character was Captain Shortbread, but I liked Moses too. <3 And my Drama Queen heart was satisfied with all the drama. ;)
*I received a copy of this book from the author but I was not required to write a review. These are my honest opinions. Review to be updated*
