The remnants of human civilization create their own utopia on an alien planet. A brilliant robotic scientist breaks the rules in an attempt to make his impaired son whole. Meshing android and human minds is considered impossible, a societal taboo, and illegal.
Can the sorrow of a father, the challenge of a feat never accomplished, and the promise of normalcy for a son who has never known it motivate a man beyond his ethical boundaries?
Billy DeCarlo is an American author of novels and short stories. He grew up camped out at the corner newsstand, reading as many comic books as he could before the owner would throw him out. He writes out of love and in hope to change the world, or at least a few minds. He still believes there are superheroes, and sees evidence of them sometimes on the news. And villains, lots of villains.

What happens when it all goes wrong? Total Score: 5/5
Summary: Harley wanted his son Issac to have the same kind of life that any teen on the colony had, but his physical and mental limitations wouldn’t allow that. Usually defects are found out before birth and the pregnancy is terminated except in Isaac’s case a mistake was made in the testing leaving him different from everyone else. Must parents would have no way to help them, but Isaac’s father, Harley, is a robotics expert and he will do whatever he can to help Isaac live his dreams. Harley is working on a way to mesh a human’s mind with an android to allow Isaac to experience the world without limitations. Now many people are worried that the androids could become too human because that is one of the problems that lead to the downfall of Earth before the colony escaped to their new world. How far will a parent go to help their child. And more importantly how will any changes effect everyone in the new world?
Harley may only be concerned to helping Isaac, but by not thinking about the possible outcomes is a definite flaw. It was interesting that even with all of the genetic manipulations to maintain a calm and cohesive colony they still had individuals who treated others with disdain and had bullies. Ken Sampson and his son Ralph thought they were better then others, particularly Harley and Isaac, who apparently were their targets. Some things about human nature never change make this reader to wonder with all of their care to create the perfect person they somehow missed that flaw. The futuristic ideas of a brain mesh with android begs the question of what it is to be real. If a person or android can feel and adapt isn’t that what life is all about? The reader will have to continue wit the next book in this series to see how they will resolve these issues. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in this series.
Being super honest here this book kind of freaked me out. The author has woven such a tale of a time when the world is no longer as we know it and I keep thinking that that's a distinct possibility in the Here and Now.
This is like science fiction meets real life with a Twist and I think anyone who enjoys the science, robotics, AI simulation, or the thought of traveling to a new world will enjoy this book. The possibilities the author has written about are things that people think about today and hope to put into play in our future.
Anytime you think of a Utopia of doing something better then what happened in the past and weeding out the negativity you run the risk of creating a worst place.
As I stated earlier this book kind of freaked me out but I finished it and let me tell you that took a lot. But I am glad I did.
I have only totally read and review this book with no obligation to the author.
