I absolutely adore Indian cuisine, it's my favorite comfort food. Nothing is better than snuggling up on a cold day and devouring a delicious helping of curry. I couldn't resist picking easy up Easy Indian Cookbook: A Simple Asian Cookbook for Preparing Tasty Indian Foods so that I could experiment with some more recipes, and continue to grow my skillset when it comes to cooking incredible Indian dishes.
My biggest complaint about the Easy Indian Cookbook is that the Kindle edition I read did not have any photographs for the recipes, instead, there were various scenes from India including a photograph of sandals. This is a pretty big problem for me because it can be a bit difficult to understand how a recipe should turn out when you are making foreign dishes.
All in all, it's a nice cookbook. Is it a favorite? No. I can't quite get past the lack of photographs and it makes me nervous to attempt recipes I've never heard of before. I can appreciate the full estimation of cooking and prep time, along with the full nutritional panel for each recipe. That's a great inclusion. The spice recipes are a lifesaver, and one of my favorite aspects of the cookbook. Before seeing those pages I had been strictly devoted to buying premade seasonings for my dishes, but now I am able to create my own powders.
I was looking to try to cook some Indian food. I wanted something very simple. This book popped up in my email so I thought I would read through it. A lot of the recipes are vegetarian so that is a plus because I am looking at possibly becoming vegetarian. The recipes don't look complicated or intimidating. The directions are easy to understand and follow. I like cookbooks that are easy to follow.
