I was born in Japan, raised in central California, and am now lucky enough to live in New York City. I've wanted to write for so long, and decided to celebrate my birthday by finally doing it! Anyone, everyone who wants to, DO IT. Write what you love, what makes you happy, otherwise what's the point? There's nothing like getting a tearful text from an advance copy beta reader asking, "Why?? Why did you do that to her?!" Being a substitute teacher for fifteen years gave me some good ideas for what today's younger readers would enjoy, and I hope you do :o)

I want to start off by saying that while I wanted to love this story, in the end I just really liked it. There was a lot of things that irked. But there was a lot that was good as well.
Things are going amazing for Daisy and Pete 5 years since their journey began. Like too good. You know that if things are perfect, a shoe is about to drop somewhere, right? Well it does and their lives are forever changed.
My irks are with the kiddos, being almost too smart for their own good. I hated having the kids intelligence thrown in my face every other sentence. I disliked the way Daisy handled her current predicament, nearly mirroring her past ways. And didn’t like that near the end, there was a scene thrown in about breastfeeding that seemed like iit was there to make a stand than for the actual benefit of the story.
Now while the kid thing and the breastfeeding moments didn’t necessarily have a huge impact on my rating of the story, Daisy’s way of acting did. I didn’t really like her in the last book until the end, and in this one I liked her in the beginning but didn’t care for her as the story progressed. I did however love Pete still. Even with the way he was in some scenes, it was easier to get over than with Daisy.
Even with my irks, I still enjoyed the story. I was happy with the ending and how the author tied the story up. 4 Stars!
Daisy and Pete have an amazing relationship with their two girls, Clio and Francie. They seem to have a perfect family life, but then Clio's birth father wants to come back into the picture. He's still in Pete's band, which means that they can't avoid him for the next few months.
Just before Pete's band is going on tour, Daisy has a miscarriage and starts drifting away from Pete. Pete worries that while he is on tour, she will not be faithful and will instead find someone else. Even though when he left they were on good terms, he still worries about what will happen while he is away. He also doesn't want Richard to try and confront him while he is on tour, because if he tries to defend himself, Richard will try to tear their family apart and take Clio.
I loved reading about Pete and Daisy's family in this story! Francie and Clio were adorable, and it was a treat to see them grow and learn from their parents. I was also happy that Pete loved both his daughters equally, even though only one was biologically his. I was always rooting for Clio to be able to stay with the family that raised her.
I got upset a few times when Pete seemed to be putting the blame on Daisy, basically asking her why she chose Richard of all people to sleep and have a child with. I understood that Richard was a horrible person, but Daisy wasn't expecting to have a child by him. It wasn't even her fault for anything. Sometimes he would say that nothing was her fault, and then other times he would say that the whole situation was her fault, even if she was literally crying and saying that she wished Clio was his and not Richard's. He eventually realizes the error of his ways though, and I was able to overlook this flaw in his character.
I still root for Pete and Daisy, but there were several other people in this book that tried to be with both Pete and Daisy. They did try to turn those people down, but they did entertain them sometimes. I think that the main moral of this story was that communication matters. If they had communicated more, those other people would not have even tried to enter their lives. Because they didn't communicate, it opened up the possibility for others to try and take their spot. Clio was an adorable little girl, but she was portrayed as being wise beyond her years. I think that she was maybe a little too wise for a 4-year-old, but it was still hilarious to read some of the things that would come out of her mouth at certain times of the story. Her younger sister wasn't like this at all, but I don't know how she will have grown int he next story when she is a little older.
I enjoyed this book, despite the lack of communication between Pete and Daisy and the mixed messages being sent by Pete. My favorite part of the story was just them coming together as a family and growing past their issues.
I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a non-conventional contemporary adult romance with strong family themes.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my voluntary review.
So sweet and precious was this book. Pete and Daisy’s life continues a few years after the first book and they are more in love than ever. Pete is on the brink of becoming big and Daisy is as well.
Pete is just as understanding, kind, patient and loving. There are some tense moments between them but nothing that you wouldn’t expect considering the circumstances. As the story goes we see Pete’s love and how it never wavers even in his anger. His sadness when he feels he is losing her. The closeness with his family as he works to give them everything and makes it in music. How he sacrifices and yet never wavers in his devotion to his family. As he takes so much from one man as he protects those that are his world.
Daisy goes through alot as well. She finds her way into standing up and facing things instead of running and hoping it works out the way she wants. She learns that relationships are about a give and take. About love and compromise. She learns that her love for Pete knows no bounds and that her family is her world.
They go through so much and yet their love shines through and you smile at their family interactions and how the love and joy comes through. We get the journey of Pete coming into fame and how he and Daisy deal with it. How Daisy goes through some hard moments and deal with it. How as a family they grow and find their way. The love and devotion they have to one another and family has you smile and your heart full. The little girls are cute and precocious and seeing Pete and Daisy with them is precious. Such a sweet book that just has you smile throughout as you see love and family be important and everything that matters.
Despite the cute, innocent looking cartoon covers, this series deals with adult topics and uses mature language.
Pete and Daisy are both experiencing more success in their respective chosen careers. This brings up issues that all families must face. Their family is expanding and as the girls grow, they ask questions that can sometimes be uncomfortable and difficult to answer.
Emotions must be dealt with, including jealousy and depression.
In my opinion it is really Pete and his unexpected patience and loving forgiveness that pull this series together.
This is the continuing story of a couple who went through some difficult times in the previous book but are now married and settled down. They have two small daughters and there are adjustment issues, just as there would be in any family. Now Daisy is pregnant with number 3. Pete gets a contract for a new music album, and his career is definitely on the upswing. How will this couple, who love each other so much, handle all the new stresses of their lives? A quick and interesting read.
A sequel that was just as good as the first, if not better. Pete and Daisy's story is very authentic, touching, and full of drama, although none of the conflicts seemed contrived. Tani Hanes writes beautifully, and her characters are so real I almost want to look for them on the streets. I know there are more books to come in this series, and I'll happily read them. :)
Pete's "Flowers" are precious. They make him blossom. This book is an amazing extension to their story....the plot's good... I was so afraid of this one thing , because the plot was inclining that way... And I was so so scared.. but I had faith in Pete and Daisy's love. Those little endearment terms sprinkled all over the book by Pete for his flowers, in Italian, had me swooning. ❤️🥺🌼
