Penelope’s always had more to love. Her mother is sure to remind her. She lets her crazy best friend Noel talk her into joining a gym. What she didn’t expect to find was Reed. Her new personal trainer is fit, sexy, and everything she isn’t looking for. Reed loves his women with curves. When he first lays eyes on Penelope he wants to explore her delectable body. He’s more than just a handsome face and rock hard abs, and he’s ready to open up and let the right woman in. Penelope is that woman. When a woman from Reed’s past re-enters his life he’s torn between obligation and love. With lies being told and boundaries being crossed, Reed has to choose. Loyalty to his past could have him losing the best thing for his future.
So many typos! This had a really engaging hook, but the execution fell flat for me. The characters were robotic, the dialogue was bland, the conflict inspired major eye-rolling from me... Reed's reaction was completely over the top and it just felt ham-fisted. But the nail in the coffin for me was Reed's complete disrespect of Penelope's request for time and his bullying his way back in. It wasn't charming... it was creepy and smacked of him being controlling and patronizing. Completely dismissing what she asked for because he knew better and it was contrary to what he wanted. I was actually rooting for her to blow off Reed and give Max a chance. The novel may have a HEA - but, in my mind, there's no way that this couple does.

Sweet story. Romance happened quickly. How the hero acted when something was revealed to him was a disappointment. Heroine was strong. When a pivotal moment happened it didn't make sense to me when it didn't go in the obvious direction. Sister disappeared from the story. Story seemed a bit rushed near the end. Lots of typos in this story that could have easily been caught had the story been read again before releasing. I like this author's writing style so I'll give her another chance.
This was a enjoyable read. It was incredibly corny at times. And it had one of my least favorite elements. When the mom is evil and the dad is sweet and makes excuses for her behavior because of one thing or another. In my opinion both are just as culpable and toxic but any how. I love reading all kinds of plus size rep books. Not all big girls are confident and love the skin their in, nothing wrong with either version. But the one thing that gets me in the Reed kind of got away with doing the bare minimum imo, because Pen may have figured out her worth but her expectations were still low. Or maybe what he did was romantic and enough in the author’s mind. Either way getting to read a sweet story with a size 18 fmc was awesome!
Overall, sweet story. Of course, I love a instalove story and this was one with Reed and Penelope. The addition of Reed's drugged out sister, gave the story the right amount of angst, especially when he broke up with Penelope. The only draw back, as compared to her last story(which I totally loved), there were places in the story where the dialogue felt a little cheesy and over the top. Looking forward to the next story!
Cute story. A bit short with lots of typos and a hero that overreacts, in my opinion but I still enjoyed it. I loved the heroine, Penny. Even though her self-esteem was low, she learned to stick up for herself, even when it hurt. The hero, Reed, was wonderful, until he wasn’t. I think he went way over the top in his reaction to what Penny told him. She handled it well but gave in a little easily when Reed came to his senses. The ending was sweet and satisfying.
Reed is a sexy trainer in love with his curvy client Penny, bit Reed's life is no hunky dory. He is still grieving the loss of his parents as a teenager. He hasn't seen or spoken to his sister in years then she just pop up out of the blue. She when to rehab, but no really. Penny saw Reed's sister buying and using drugs and told Reed he didn't believe her and broke up with her, only to find out is was true. Then he had to gravel to get her back.
Reed and Penny’s story is sweet. I enjoyed that the conflict in the relationship didn’t come from an ex-lover. It made a predictable story a little more interesting. I did not like that the trouble was swept away never to be heard from again. There was no closure and it was a glaring omission.
I loved this author's first book and was really looking forward to reading this. It was absolutely worth the wait. Another sweet, sexy, fun read that had you happily turning the pages to see what would happen next. Even when things weren't perfect, I enjoyed waiting for them to get back on track. This will definitely go in the reread section.
The reason this book got 4 stars is because of grammer, and sentencing. There were times when it was supposed to be one of the other but it seemed the author got confused as to whose point of view she was writing about. She also mixed him/her and his/hers to the point of distraction. Other than that it was a wonderful book. A-
It was a sweet book, but something was missing man.
Oh and if I read about how a plus-size heroine is not fat, I will kill someone! Don't fat people deserve love too? I have a serious problem with this though, if I read that again , I will just go back to reading none plus-size books. At least they don't make me feel like crap since k have no expectations of body positivity there.
Wow…just wow. This book was absolutely amazing! Being plus sized myself, I look for books with curvaceous leads, and I am so glad I found this one. Absolutely beautiful writing, thought out characters, and descriptions that pulled me into the world of Penny and Reed. I can’t wait to read this again!
It's always nice to read about a hot, stable man who adores a curvy black woman... And he can communicate on top of it. It's not a stellar story and it needs some edits, but it was a fun and light read.
It was a goos book. I am a sucker for romance books like this. My only dislike is that I wish she wrapped up some other characters storyline. I know its more about the couple but I don't. I felt like something was missing. It was a good story and great storyline.
Good story involving a siblings addiction. Love should win out even when it's hard. It's hard to see and accept the truth where addicts are concerned. Reed almost lost the love of his life because of his sister.
Sweet love story. I liked it but I still feel some kind of way about what he did! I'm forgiving but for me I couldn't see myself with him again. What he did was harsh and hurtful. But she loved him. Hurray for second chances.
This was good. I wish she could had back bone. Forgave to easily. I wish I could have felt the love. Her mother was beyond help. That needed to be readdressed. Not a bad story.
A wonderfully written book. It was a quick, easy read that kept !e from putting it down. I love how relatable this story was. This is one of my top reads.
Reed and Penny were a decent read. I didn’t like Penny’s mom and wanted to know why she treated her daughter as she did. I liked that Reed had Penny’s back until he didn’t. I thought Penny was too hard on herself and often appeared younger than her age.
Overall,I thought it was a cute easy read. This was my first time reading this author. I plan to explore more of her books.
