Bigfoot researcher Dean Hawkins is in real danger of losing his grant money if he doesn’t find evidence of his subject soon, so he’s furious after someone vandalizes his video equipment. Ember refuses to help Dean pursue the elusive Sasquatch since she was also relentlessly harassed. Even so, the nerdy professor is the most interesting guy she’s met in forever, and she lets down her guard long enough to start falling for him. From the Nocturne Falls Kindle world. A paranormal romance novella from a town that celebrates Halloween every day so that the residents can live openly.
I love the look of fairy lights. Especially at night. Nocturne Falls uses them to decorate the downtown buildings and tourist paths. Wouldn’t it be fun to walk through the town seeing the magical beings and fantasizing what might be real? Dean, the hero in this novella, is seeing some strange things. Like the man lifting up the back end of a care with one hand. Or the woman with the pointy ears that looked so real. Ember, the heroine, just gives him another bottle of water and tells him to hydrate. Why? Because the water has magical properties that help humans forget the unusual things they may see.
Fame and justification for his career? Or protecting Ember and the town secrets? Choices.
This is a fun, and entertaining story that quickly drew me in. Filled with humor, a bit of suspense, and whole lot of romance this is sure to appeal to many readers.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest The characters + storytelling were very captivating Ember was just trying to live her life in peace Dean is really on the right track to finding bigfoot. ( or not ) Instead he found Ember. The storytelling + the character's build were awesome! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
Ember Guerra is a retired supermodel who buys a home just outside the famous Nocturne Falls (Halloween all year round) to get away from all the reporters. She loves the privacy and is happy with just her horse Reina and her two cats, Artemis & Atena. She's at her favorite spot when she notices a video camera in the tree and shoots it with an arrow. She's a crack shot with a bow and arrow. Dean Hawkins is a Biology Professor and a Sasquatch researcher like his father. He'll lose his grant if he doesn't find proof very soon. He believes the Sasquatch is the area around Nocturne Falls and has put up a couple of video cameras. He has a camp site set up and loses the signal of one of the cameras. He goes to where the camera is and finds a woman with a bow and arrow and she has destroyed it and he's upset. Needless to say, sparks fly!! Even though they are attracted to each other, Dean doesn't want to give up trying to find the Sasquatch and Ember says he should let go of trying to find it. It has a right to live without being a specimen. Will Dean give up his search for Ember? This is an enjoyable love story with two strong characters. It has drama, suspense and humor. Highly recommend this book and all the books in the Nocturne Falls series.
Adore this book very much, I was very excited to read it having read the others in the series, definitely not disappointed by this book, and I cannot wait for more.
As always I won't give spoilers but will say say is has everything you expect from sneakiness, giggles, love, heartbreak and joy, I most definitely enjoyed along with all the others so far though they are each their own book lots of old and new friends from Nocturne Falls appear and its awesome that they appear in each others books,
Beauty and the Bigfoot Hunter is a great addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe of books. While the effects of the Moonbow water not working fully on Dean can be explained away by his belief in the supernatural world, to begin with, the story left me wanting just a little bit more out of his character (something similar to Cole's experiences in Kristen's books). Dean was a parallel to Cole and Wynter did a very good job in her tribute to Cole's character. I connected well to Ember, and Dean individually, but their relationship seemed a little forced at times. Overall I liked the book and it earned a solid 4 stars from me.

REVIEW Let me first say I love the stories in this Nocturne Falls community. I mean come on Halloween every day of the year? Who couldn't love this? Ember is a retired model who left the spotlight and retreated to Nocturne Falls because she is not wholly human. Dean is chasing myths or is he? His father started him out at a young age hunting that mythical creature Big Foot. I mean come on Big Foot? Really... These two meet and sparks do not fly at first, Ember has to keep her secrets, and one is huge. But after a bit of talking to animals, inhuman strength, and a few other mishaps are shown everything goes upside down for this couple. Pick up your copy and find out what happens.. Have a few giggles along the way.
Ember is a retired super model who moves to Nocturne Falls after having a traumatic experience. Dean is a scientist/teacher who comes to Nocturne Falls to track down Bigfoot. While camping on Ember's land, he injures himself and Ember ends up taking him in to her home to heal. The story wraps around their new relationship and Dean witnesses several odd things when they go into town for dinner one night. The scientist in Dean is unable to ignore the supernatural things he is seeing, however, he promises Ember that he will not expose the little town to the world.
An Amazon and a big foot hunter. Two people with very different views to life.
Another amazing instalment in the Nocturne Falls Universe. I must say this town is getting quite an eclectic collection of residents. Ember and Dean are wonderful additions to the town. With hurdles to overcome in regards to their priorities in life this book was full of emotion.
This is a great book; this book is part of the Nocturne Falls Universe and is written by Wynter Daniels. The Nocturne Falls series is written by Kristen Painter and I was so happy that these new books by new authors were asked to write a story in the town. Nocturne Falls is a town that celebrates Halloween every day of the year and also a place that paranormal’s can live and not have to hide what they really are. Retired supermodel Ember Guerra moved to the mountains outside Nocturne Falls in order to escape the paparazzi who hounded her. The Amazon beauty adores the privacy of her remote home. Until she discovers a hidden camera on her property. Bigfoot researcher Dean Hawkins is in real danger of losing his grant money if he doesn’t find evidence of his subject soon, so he’s furious after someone vandalizes his video equipment. When a dark-haired siren admits she’s the culprit, he expects an apology. Instead, she unloads both barrels on him. Ember refuses to help Dean pursue the elusive Sasquatch since she was also relentlessly harassed. Even so, the nerdy professor is the most interesting guy she’s met in forever, and she lets down her guard long enough to start falling for him. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.
Ember Guerra is a retired supermodel who bought fifty acres and a home in the middle of nowhere to escape that world, and now she lives a quiet, sober existence just outside the tiny hamlet of Nocturne Falls, Georgia where it’s Halloween all year round. She is happy with just her horse Reina and her two cats, Artemis & Atena. She's out riding Reina when she notices a video camera in the tree and shoots it with an arrow. Dean Hawkins is a Biology Professor and a researcher like his father. He believes the Sasquatch is in the area around Nocturne Falls and has set up camp. When he loses the signal of one of the cameras he’s set up, He goes there and finds a beautiful amazon of a woman with a bow and arrow and his destroyed camera. What ensues between these two strong characters is nothing short of amazing. But hey, were talking about Nocturnal Falls ..... Humor, Suspense, Magic, and Romance, are always in fashion and I enjoyed watching Ember and Deans story unfold.
Another good PNR addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe series. Written in an enjoyable engaging style this tale of an ex model craving solitude and a scientist determined to prove the legend of Bigfoot should please fans of the series and is as good as place to start as any for newbies.
Three and a half stars. This is the fifth story in the series by this author, following The Fortuneteller's Folly, The Genie's Double Trouble, The Yin to His Yang, and The Mistletoe Misstep in Merry & Bright: A Christmas Anthology. I have mixed feelings, some stories I like and some I don't. This story, however gave me mixed feelings all over. Firstly, the story is really good and I love how the author made use of the existing locations, her previous characters, and still managed to add more to Nocturne Falls. Additionally, I was really impressed with the point the author was trying to make in relation to respecting the privacy of people or animal species. Maybe that is the reason why I so passionately hated the main male character Dean, whose only concern was how to keep the grant and his academic reputation, without any consideration for others who might be negatively affected by his actions. On the other hand, there is this lovely Amazon, Ember, who is still attracted to him like a hormonal teenage girl, and while pining for him forgets that there are bigger issues there like informing the authorities of potential exposure. So as I said, mixed feelings, so this story was somewhere in the middle for me. Nocturne Falls series is fantastic and I highly recommend it. The reading order is: The Vampire's Mail Order Bride (Nocturne Falls #1), The Werewolf Meets His Match (Nocturne Falls #2), The Gargoyle Gets His Girl (Nocturne Falls, #3), The Professor Woos The Witch (Nocturne Falls, #4), and The Witch’s Halloween Hero (Nocturne Falls #4.5) in Spell of the Ball Anthology, The Werewolf's Christmas Wish (Nocturne Falls #4.6) in Hex the Halls Anthology, The Vampire’s Fake Fiancée (Nocturne Falls #5), A Vampire's Valentine Surprise (Nocturne Falls #5.5), Miss Frost Solves A Cold Case : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #1), The Shifter Romances The Writer (Nocturne Falls #6), Miss Frost Ices The Imp : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #2), The Vampire’s True Love Trials (Nocturne Falls #6.5) in Taming the Vampire collection, Miss Frost Saves The Sandman : A Nocturne Falls Mystery (Jayne Frost #3), The Dragon Finds Forever (Nocturne Falls #7), The Vampire's Accidental Wife (Nocturne Falls #8), Miss Frost Cracks A Caper (Jayne Frost #4), When Birdie Babysat Spider: A Jayne Frost Short (Jayne Frost #4.5), Miss Frost Braves the Blizzard (Jayne Frost #5), and ever growing series of Nocturne Universe Novels, which are about to surpass 40 by now. Great world to get yourself immersed in.
It’s an OK book, if you like loads of romance relationship angst. As the blurb indicated, there were lots of conflicts of interest, seeing the two main characters had different priorities in life. These conflicts led to drama and angst. Though I quite enjoy it, heavy angst was not really my cup of tea.
I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.
Paranormal romance that takes place in Nocturne Falls. An Amazon woman seeking seclusion discovers a trespasser on her property, a biologist searching for Bigfoot. The two often clash, but in the end love prevails. Typos: "Hoard" and "hoards" are used when the author meant to use "horde" and "hordes." "Pretty women come onto him" is supposed to be "come ON TO him," or else the meaning is completely different. "This one of the first mammals" should be "This IS one of the first mammals."
Lovely addition to the NFU! I loved the characters introduced. They are both well written, and each have their own broken backstories to overcome in order to evolve together. I find the addition of an Amazonian interesting and would like to know more about her backstory and life expectancy since she’s now entangled with a human. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!
Not really all that good. I’d skip it. Too bad because the female MC was pretty good. She could have had a much better storyline and match. Having lived and breathed science, the likelihood of a scientist with a body like that is laughable. Plus, that guy is totally fictional. No scientist thinks that way unless he is insane.
There was nothing really interesting in this story . Rather boring. Nothing I cared for to read. For me it was a nothing burger. And I really did not cares to read about animals in labs or her being an alcoholic. For me all Nocturne stories should be fun and not annoying. I read books to get away from the mess in this world and do not need stuff like that in a fantasy story-
As others have noted, this is mostly just a romance. There’s less story and less interaction with the town. It wasn’t bad but I didn’t enjoy it as much as some of the others.
Does every body fall in love for ever? I know that the people of New England.. seem to like Christmas season, storms, snow, coldwiinf and whatever overthrown them during winter season .
Not as good as all of the other books Wynter has written for Nocturne Falls Universe but still good. I really enjoy B.J. Harrison telling the stories on Audible more than reading them.
I liked it. Not much going on though. Side note, the word "mare" was used a lot. Listening to it sounded like mayor so I was confused for a minute, then it got annoying fast.
The chaos of fame and observations, Bigfoot, injuries and alcoholism. Sometimes there are so many different issues and paths but there is so much that comes from the two sides of the world. The magical and the scientific clash and fight but in this one it is the heart that can overrule the brain and love overrules they need for success. It is just sad that they didn’t really understand until tragedy occurred.
