Turn your thoughts and dreams into reality with U.S. Andersen’s beloved self-help classic

Andersen’s philosophy is simple: anything that you can visualize, you can achieve. By harnessing the power of visualization, or what Andersen calls “the image power of the mind,” you can take control of your reality, assure success, and become the master of your own fate.

The Magic in Your Mind offers an accessible, easy-to-follow mental training program to teach readers how to create inner convictions that will lead to outer realities. Whether in the realm of health, finances, family, career, or romantic relationships, the power of mental imagery is life-changing.

The Magic in Your Mind is part of the GPS (Good, Practical Simple) Guides to Life series, which aims to introduce a new audience of readers to the life-changing writings of past generations. This new edition also includes bonus material by the author.

Listen, I pretty much think that law of attraction is bullshit, but I do think there’s something to be said for positive thinking.

Many of the ‘stories’ seemed very fake (I wound up skipping them) and much of the writing is repetitive, but *t*here’s still a lot of interest in the pages of this book from 1961 - and now being reprinted by St. Martin’s Essentials - readers do have to mine for the helpful bits in the twaddle.

Recommended for those bits.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Essentials and NetGalley for the DRC

Apparently Steve Vai, guitarist for Dave Lee Roth and Whitesnake in the past, found this book decades ago and it really helped him through a hard time. Vai is certainly someone to be inspired by so I thought if this was good for him, I'd give it a go.
It's a really interesting read, with quite a few interesting concepts and I'm very glad I gave it a chance. I did think the author repeated himself a fair bit though, and the made-up stories about fictional (I assume) people could have been left out completely. I ended up just skipping those. You can find this really cheap on Kindle, however, and I would recommend everyone reads it, even if you end up skipping through some of it. There's a LOT of good stuff mixed in with the filler.

Too wordy

This is not an easy read. Very wordy and tends to ramble. It would have been nice to have exercises on how to create the outcomes we desire instead of dwelling on why we get the negative outcomes. No table of contents. Sorry, but I got bored.
