Sander March is one season away from the pros, or so everyone tells him.
If only Sander had as much faith in his ability as the Cougar coaching staff does. Outwardly, he’s cocksure, borderline bitter, and slightly sarcastic. All that strut and sass hides a wounded soul though. Working to hide a brutal past filled with humiliation, abuse, and a family member who still haunts him, Sander has never found the kind of comfort and understanding he so desperately needs. Until he meets Mateo Castillo, a minor league baseball player for the nearby Elmira Egrets. Mateo and Sander click instantly, and a budding friendship develops between the two athletes.
Mateo then introduces Sander to his boyfriend, Noah Coombs, an aspiring manga comic creator. The three men find themselves bonding strongly, and that slowly gives way to sexual attraction. Eventually, Mateo and Noah invite Sander into their relationship. The path to happiness isn’t going to be easy for Sander as he faces criticism from his friends, teammates, and the press for his choices. The brash young star can handle all that, it’s when his abuser shows up in Cayuga that Sander fears not only for his own safety, but for the lives of the two men he has grown to love. Will Sander’s past tear him away from Mateo and Noah, or will he be able to leave the darkness behind?
Warning – This story has disturbing subject matter.
V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, Dr. Who, Torchwood, belly laughs, yoga, reading and writing lusty tales, walking, Greek mythology, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.)
She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, and a flock of assorted domestic fowl.
When not writing lusty tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania, fresh cup of java in hand.
The narrative of this one is much darker than the others in the series but it still fits perfectly with the other Cayuga Cougars stories.
Sander has always been there on the periphery, Dan's college boyfriend and mini ass in training, but here we find out there's much more to the brash young player than that.
I loved the whole set up of this one. A chance meeting with a semi pro baseball player with an artist boyfriend and an instant connection between three very different young men.
Mateo was a tower of strength but it was Noah, the somewhat fae manga creator, who anchored the trio together. Both Sander and Mat naturally gravitated around him and he was quietly instigating the direction the relationship went.
There's loads of great conversation between the three as they realise how each feels and while they work out the dynamics and OMG, this might just be the hottest smexy times that VL has written. They burn up the sheets in their various encounters.
This plot also deals well with its more sensitive aspects, the trigger warnings should be noted as both Sander and Noah have really traumatic experiences which cause anxiety.
I take my hat off to the author for how these were written and handled in this book, powerfully done and with extreme sensitivity.
I'm not going to go into much more as this book needs to be read blind, there were a few moments which truly made me gasp, and I don't want to spoil people's experience of those.
All in all another brilliant addition to the roster and yeah, Victor is still an ass ;)

Sander is traded mid season and has yet to make many friends. Mostly due to his past relationship with Dan Arou-Kalinski.
At a local sports award dinner, he meets Mateo, a minor league baseball player. They become fast friends, and soon all of Sanders free time is spent at the apartment Mat shares with his boyfriend, Noah.
When a photo shoot Noah asks the boys to pose for gets out of hand, ending in a hand job, Sander thinks their friendship is over. The other two come back and invite him into their relationship.
Everything is going well, until Sander’s past catches up to him. His brother in law who used to beat on him and his sister us up for parole. Will he get out and come after them?
I love how easy the relationship was. Like Mat says at one point, the three fit in a way that him and Noah alone did not. It was also everything Sander has ever wanted. All three were supportive of one another, and the sex they had was beautiful and explosive.
Highly recommended, but I would stay away if abuse or violence is a trigger.
This book was formatted a little differently than the others in this series so far, which I think is due to the fact that not only is it MMM, but the way that Sander, Mateo and Noah form their relationship – they go from two people, Mateo and Noah, who already have a connection, to bringing in a third person, Sander, to be with the established couple. While the way their MMM relationship formed wasn't fully equal with all three men, I actually still really enjoyed this book. It also had a darker underlying theme to it as well, being that Sander and Noah had both had bad things happen to them in their pasts causing them to both be pretty cautious in their relationships and bonds that they form with others.
Sander started out as kind of a jerk when we met him in the previous books, but in this one we learn what happened for him to act out and be the way he is. Consequently, to me, his attitude is totally understandable; he really did get a raw deal. I loved that he stands by his sister and niece 100% and would do anything to keep them safe. And when he meets Mateo and then Noah you can really feel the instant connection they all have with each other, even during the times that Noah is a bit standoffish towards Sander.
Learning what happened to Noah is a whole other set of emotions you will feel in this book. Poor Noah. I felt so bad for him learning what happened and why he is so hesitant and scared of life.
Mateo is their glue, the one person who holds them all together as a unit of three and I absolutely loved that he is able to fill that role for the other two men who really need someone strong to hold them up. The ending is a bit predicable only in the fact that you kind of get the gist of what will happen building up to that moment in time, but you won’t guess exactly what happens, it's horrible and again, poor Noah. These guys have way too much to deal with and not enough happiness flowing around them until the very end. I loved Sander, Mato and Noah though. This was a great book and great add-on to the Cayuga Cougars series, I wouldn't mind getting a second look at these guys.

Oh I am so pissed because it started off so well and I love poly so I was looking forward to this. The relationship was toxic as hell and unbalanced as fuck. Sander, the main character, meets Mateo and is immediately attracted to him, and turns out he is also attracted to Mateo’s boyfriend. After meeting once they decide they are all attracted to each other, the plot skips to a week after where Mateo and Noah, who have been in a relationship for years, decide to open their couple to this dude they met twice. Oh-kay. Then it becomes obvious Sander is insanely attracted to Mateo, the other jock. He likes Noah too, but it’s also obvious that he is not really his type. See, Noah is written in a really weird, annoying way. He is like a manic artist tiny boyfriend, wearing big sweaters and hiding behind people and writing manga and not comics. I love shy baby boyfriends so MUCH i love oversized sweater and cute feminine boyfies. But something about the way Noah was written was so odd. And it peaked when he called the two male protagonists from his yaoi KOMI and AKEMI which are both girls names and I know gender is an illusion but it all played into this weird picture of a under researched character. Turns out he is a victim of sexual abuse which is lightly touched. Anyway, Sander acts really sweet with Noah one minute and then really mean and I was like. Y’all should NOT be in a relationship. It was obvious how Mateo was the true center of this trio, but he was very under developed and that’s a shame. The passion between Sander and Mateo was obvious, and Noah just felt like he was… there, bringing the demure shy baby boy aesthetic to a relationship that kinda failed him imo.
Anyway, a big disappointment, even the sneaks of Dan and Vic didn’t help because Sander doesn’t like them so seeing them from his perspective wasn’t great.
I like a good throuple and this was a pretty good one as far as how they got together and no one being married. The idea of being friends first before evolving into a relationship helped keep it from feeling too unequal, as can sometimes happen. Partly because Mateo and Noah also didn’t end up leaving a strong impression on me, not always feeling their characters fit smoothly with events they were part of. Relationship details develop in between Sander’s hockey and teammates, his mental health issues and anxiety over his sister’s ex and verbal sparring with Victor. For me, the romance felt more like a subplot than a focus of the story. There was too much going on around Sander and I wish there’d been more dialogue and page time with the three of them, outside of sex. It was interesting with the surprising ending to the ultimate crisis. The epilogue wrapped up pretty quickly but covered all the important points needed for closure. I can only think that Victor spoiled me for the rest of the team.
As I got into this story, I found that I really liked Sander but I was not sold on the other two characters. MMM is hard to write and in this instance, we really only get Noah at extremes and Mateo seems more like a side character than main character. And sadly, the author really makes Vic completely unlikable in a bad way, not the forgivable a$$hole we are used to seeing him as for too much of the book. yeah, he steps up when he's pushed into a stressful situation but it doesn't seem trustworthy. Sander is 100 times the man Vic is in this book. That's was a sad way to treat Vic.
As Sanders backstory unfolded, I was really hoping for something original but I already knew what was going to be the outcome. This was 110% predictable and unoriginal with regards to basically the whole book.
It’s been a hell of a ride with the Cougars so far and I’m loving every damn minute. Dan Arou-Kalinski’s ex, Sander March, got me all intrigued and I knew he’d have a great story to tell.
First of all, the snark, banter and practical jokes between Vic and Sander were hilarious. We all know why Vic pokes at Sander every chance he gets and the dialogue between these two was golden. The camaraderie between the team was such an important focus here, just like all the other books in the series. Well loved characters like Mario, Vic and Dan all featuring prominently and being key to the story, it was like being amongst a group of great friends, who torment each mercilessly but underlying that are deep friendships and a feeling of brotherhood and at the end of the day when all the teasing stops, they’re there for you, without question.
Sander meets Mateo Castillo, a fellow athlete and baseball player and there’s an instant attraction. Thing is though, Mat’s in a relationship. Sander enjoys Mat’s friendship and gets to meet the beautiful and sweet Noah, his significant other. A friendship grows between the three men and evolves into something deeper. Can they survive the danger from Sander’s past? going public with their relationship? And probably most importantly, can they make this relationship work between the three of them, even without the odds stacked against them?
Sander’s a guy with a hell of a lot on his plate. No wonder he fights to further his career; he’s not only doing it for himself, it’s for his sister and niece. He feels as though he’s constantly on the run from his past but no matter how hard he works and how well he protects his family, the threat for their safety is never far away, even in his nightmares. God, I really felt for Sander, he’s really put through the wringer here and I felt for him when his anxiety was at its worst, it was heartbreaking and I’m so glad he had Mat and Noah there for him.
I thoroughly enjoyed this instalment; Sander, Mateo and Noah were so different in ways but fit so perfectly.

Sander March is at the top of his game. He could be called up at any moment. He has a lot to work through in his past, along with keeping his sister and niece safe, and it’s hard to keep his head in the game at times. Sander does his best to hide his abusive past from his friends and teammates, but it isn’t always easy. When he meets Mateo Castillo, sparks fly. It upsets him that he’s so attracted to a man who’s already in a loving relationship. When Mateo introduces him to his boyfriend, he finds himself equally attracted to the quiet Noah Coombs.
I wasn’t a big fan of Sander in the past, but knowing his story and what he’s been through, his attitude makes more sense. He’s juggling a lot with his job and the team, trying like crazy to make it to the top. He also needs to make sure the man who abused him and his sister stays locked away. Now with his new relationship growing there’s a lot more on the line than just his life.
In this book, we find out quite a bit about Noah’s past. He’s a writer and an artist also with an abusive past. Mateo saved his life and they’ve been together and in love for two years. There was a genuine vulnerability in Noah. He knew there were things Sander could give Mateo that he just couldn’t. I think Sander was a perfect addition to their relationship and I loved the connection they all shared. There was enough drama and danger with a criminal after him. He truly needed the support and love he got from the two.
I truly enjoyed this book, and the others in the series. I’m always waiting for the next one to come! I love the way the author makes everything work seamlessly. You get all of their POVs, and that’s very important in a book like this. Thank you V.L. Locey for another amazing story!
Didn't love this one as much as the previous one where we met Sander. We knew Sander was looking for more in a relationship than a one-on-one, and he seems to have found that with Mateo and Noah.
While I enjoyed these guys together and watching them work out the kinks of being in a threesome, some of the aspects felt a bit over the top, especially with Sander's past.
Needless to say, there was still plenty to enjoy and the writing flowed well making turning the pages easy. I'm geared up for the next book/spinoff where we revisit the couple from the previous book.
I’m always up for a hockey romance, and the fact that this one is M/M/M just made it all the more enticing to me. I’ve been enjoying this series, and this latest book following the Cayuga Cougars fits well with the series even if it includes some darker points in the story.
Sander knows he’s good at playing hockey, but everything in his life is colored by the reality of his past and that he is constantly on alert for that past to come crashing back into his life. But when he allows himself to let go, all of that can fall into the background—especially once he meets Mateo, and then Noah. Sander and Mateo click almost instantly, while Noah takes a bit more time thanks to his own past that still haunts him. But together, the three men form a solid friendship where they fully complete each other, and watching that evolve made for some really good reading.
We get to see the team dynamic at work again, and it’s always a pleasure to revisit these guys. I liked how Vic and Dan played an important role in this story, and got a kick out of how Sander teased Vic later in the story. As for drama, there’s definitely an injection of it at several points in the book thanks to Noah’s past making itself known in his present.
When it comes to M/M/M, some authors can overdo it with the sex scenes, but in this story that’s not the case. Here, those scenes are used only as needed to show the growth of Sander, Mateo, and Noah’s relationship; the story is more focused on the interactions between them, and how that contributes to the development of their bond together.
Overall, Overtime was a solid 4-star read for me. I could have gone higher, but it was too easy for me to guess what was coming when the dramatic conflict near the end of the story came about. Fans of the series will be pleased with Overtime. It could conceivably be read on its own, but you’ll get a lot more satisfaction out of this story if you read the series in order. This book is meant for readers 18+ for adult language, sexual content, and some disturbing subject matter.
I'm enjoying this series ! I could make this long, but I don't want to give away all of the information. They met at a hockey dinner and had easy conversation and a good friends vibe, so they went to Mateo's to play video games. We watch the hockey season games progress, their gaming, travel, and more. After some road games, Sander went to see Mateo and Noah again. He's attracted to both men for different reasons, and the feeling is mutual.
* Sander, 26, hockey player, Mom died of heroin od, he has a sis, Kimmy and her daughter that he helps, her ex is in jail for hurting Kimmy and Sander, and his parole is coming up. * Mateo, tall, curly dark brown hair, Puerto Rican, plays baseball in minor leagues. * Noah, smaller, short sandy hair, blue eyes, tatts and pierced earring, is an artist and writer of ganga/yaoi, who has anxiety for an attack he suffered.
this shows ganga/yaoi, I liked it...
The attraction grows as they hang out, with serious talks, time together, there are hot kisses and more. It's a wonderful ménage with deep emotions.
We get Noah's sad tale, and more of Sander's abuse from ex-Wade, and Kimmy's story. Our men are serious now, love and passion in their support of each other. Mateo's Mom visits, she's cool. Things change for Mateo's goals, and at the rink an anxiety attack hits Sander, and Noah has his back. Angst for the upcoming parole board meeting is high.
Later, when bad news comes, shortly after there is a horrible event for Mateo, Noah, and Sander that Sander walks in on....
It's a very tough scene, terrifying and brutal. In the aftermath our men rely on each other, with therapy and resolve.
We are left with an HFN, leaving us with hope and warmed hearts. ENJOY !
=======Triggers, violence, re-telling of verbal and physical abuse, being tied up, gun.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the fourth book in the series, and is another excellent read. Not only do we get Dan's ex Sander's story, but also a catch up with the previous relationships. I would recommend that you read them in order, as this is a really different series to the usual gorgeous highly paid hockey player romances. This is grittier, more real and definitely more diverse.
Not only do we have the hockey goodness of Sander and the Cougars, but we also get a small taste of the difficulties faced by a baseball hopeful in Mat. His sports story may not be absolute centre, but it is an effective reminder of the harsh realities of trying to succeed as a professional sportsperson. I loved the manga elements that were introduced thanks to Noah's talents as an author and illustrator, and especially his MM romance based on his two lovers.
The story of dread at the potential release of Sander's abusive ex-brother-in-law is always just in the background. The impact it has on Sander's mental health, and his ability to function is so carefully and thoughtfully described - it contrasts with the big burly and physical nature of the hockey player.
The Cougars are an amazing team with support for all their players, and this time with the media revelations of a polyamorous relationship. It is lovely watching these three men find their place in a trio, and there is a fun mix of every day life and super passionate nights.
If you have not tried this series yet, I would suggest that you now have four good books to enjoy.
Wow. This book has me feeling a bit hungover, unable to let these men and their story go just yet. It is a story about love, healing, and learning how to move forward from the pain of the past. Sander, Mateo, and Noah are all complex, layered characters. Sander broke my heart over and over again. The abuse in his past and his overwhelming love for his sister and niece, and later Mat and Noah, endeared me to him so much more than I expected (after not being sure how I would feel about him when we met him in book 3). I just wanted to wrap him up and not let anything hurt him ever again. Noah is a sensitive, at times fragile, artist with a painful past of his own. And then there is Mat, their rock. I love how these three men open up to each other and take care of each other once they fall into this relationship. The situation with Sander's brother-in-law had my own nerves flaring, let alone my poor Sander's.
While it is a deeply emotional story at times, Overtime also has what I have come to love from this series - hockey, the infamous Vic (and Dan!), supportive teammates and friends, and some seriously sexy times! It is a great addition to the series and I look forward to more from Cayuga in the future.
This is not the first time I've said this and it probably won't be the last. I'm always wary of MMM romances because getting the dynamics just right isn't as easy when you're adding a third to an established relationship, like in this case. Add to that, that we only get Sander's POV throughout the book and it can be even trickier. However, Ms. Locey made it work somehow. She showed us enough of Mat and Noah to get an idea of who they are and see that, even if things weren't perfect and they needed to adjust their expectations to reality, they made a great team with Sander, each of them bringing something to their relationship that they were missing before.
I liked Sander and my heart broke for what he had to go through as a child and still as an adult, feeling responsible for both his sister and niece and sensing the weight of it all upon his shoulders. And I liked both Mateo and Noah, too. Noah's backstory was just about as heartwrenching as Sander's, and that was how they bonded, and Mateo and Sander just clicked on another level. They worked well as a throuple, even if I wasn't too sure at first. They definitely had a lot of chemistry and the sex was very hot and passionate.
It was awesome seeing the rest of the Cayuga Cougars, even if Victor was more of a bastard than usual in this book, although he did come through for Sander in the end with some prodding from Dan.
Overall, this was a great addition to the series and I'm already looking forward to book 5!

When we first meet Sander and learn is backstory my heart was breaking for him and I just wanted him to find someone to love and support him. So when he meets Mat and they hit it off was thrilled even though we quickly learn that Mat is in a committed relationship with Noah. As the three men become friends the relationship develops into more.
This story gives the very hot and dirty sex that you'd expect from an m/m/m novel and I can say it made for stimulating reading. But the relationship between the three men his the highlight for me. I loved seeing these men support each other. Even when things weren't going right for the guys I was comforted by their relationship and knowing they'd be there to take care of each other.
I also loved the antagonistic relationship Sander has with coach Vic Kalinski and how the Cayuga Cougars support Sander when he needs it.
Even through parts of Overtime deal with some difficult issues the warmth and strength of the relationship between our trio shines through and I just loved it.
4.5 stars! Overtime was a wonderful MMM story. Being the extremely picky MMM reader that I am, I have to say I loved it!!! This book is actually light on sex, so to speak, and heavy on emotion and feelings which tugged on my heart strings the entire time. These boys were perfect for each other! I don’t think you need to read the others to read Overtime, but I think you would be missing out on some great reads and back stories by not doing so.
3 1/2 stars I liked all three MCs and the way they took care of each other. I didn’t care for the ending of this story though. It was also less steamy than I thought it was going to be.
The main relationship of a book (doesn’t matter how good the plot might be) sometimes can ruin an entire book. This is exactly what happened for me with this one.
Now, these are 3 guys entering into a polyamorous relationship. 2 of them have been together for years now and know each other intimately (Mat and Noah). They decide to add this other guy because they both find him attractive (they say they like him). First problem: These 3 characters barely know one another. They just met. They literally just met. Not enough time has passed to be throwing “I like you let’s get together”.
The first 2 guys decide to have a talk (which it’s not shown to the reader which makes everything worse later on) about their feelings towards guy #3 (Sander) and what it all means then a few days later they decide that they do want guy #3, call him over and decide to start the “relationship”. This is all in a matter of days, maybe weeks, from the time they met. Second problem: Only the first 2 guys (Mat and Noah) that have an established relationship, trust and love spoke. They never (at least not when I reached 37% but by then it was too little too late) had a proper conversation to establish..anything really, with Sander before he and Mat were shoving their tongues down their throats and giving each other hand jobs. Something that Noah didn’t particularly liked when he learned about it later on (this character is very indecisive in general but this just makes everything worse). This is where that “private conversation” would have come in handy. What the hell they spoke about? Did they never established something as simple as “Can I touch Sanders without either of us present? Can we have sex without either of us present? Will that make you uncomfortable? We both (Sander and Mat) travel a lot for extended periods of time, will that be a problem if only one of us happens to be here with you, Noah? Will we be “allowed” to have sex if the other is not present?”
Apparently they didn’t spoke about anything. They just said “We like Sanders, let’s fuck.”
This poly relationship is badly done and if it were real life, it wouldn’t work. As it is it barely works in fantasy. There was none of that trust that you get when you truly know a person before jumping into anything; before making anything oficial. There was barely, if zero, communication before hand which lead to awkward moments. Sanders carries baggage that could put Noah and Mat in danger but he doesn’t tell them anything (as of 37% he hasn’t. Where is that communication and trust? What trust if they barely know each other...).
I really wasn’t feeling it.

Overtime is book 4 in the Cayuga Cougars series but can easily be read as a standalone book. This is a very hot, sexy story but also deals with some dark topics.
Sander March had a terrible childhood. He never knew his father and his mother died when he was young. He was raised by his older sister who married an abusive man who took out his frustrations on his wife and young Sander. As a grownup, Sander is haunted by his childhood and has never had much luck in love.
Mateo and Noah are in a committed relationship. After Mateo and Sander meet at an awards banquet something seems to click and Mateo invites him to meet Noah. Soon the three of them are exploring the feelings they have for each other and begin a poly relationship.
Wow, Overtime got me worked up in so many ways. The horrible things that Sander endured at the hands of his abusive brother-in-law just broke my heart. Noah also has darkness in his past. Mateo seems to be the glue that holds them all together but then he also has a rough patch to negotiate.
There are a lot of bumps in the road for Sander, Mateo and Noah – and some are very frightening – but it was very rewarding to read how they managed to overcome obstacles and get their HEA. I've enjoyed all of the books in this series but Overtime is now my favorite. I'm looking forward to reading more stories in this world.
An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
As another reviewer stated - the narrative of this one is much darker than the others in the series.
I loved the setup of this one. Mateo (a minor league baseball player) and Sander meet at a local sports award dinner. He and Mateo become friends with a little spark of attraction that Sander tries to suppress his feelings since Mateo tells him about his artistic boyfriend Noah.
I liked the lead up to the three of them entering into a relationship – they took the time to talk and work out all their feelings and details on their new relationship so nobody would feel guilty or left out.
Everything seems to be working out very well for Sander off the ice (let’s face it Vic can still be a dick) until his past catches up to him. His brother in law/father figure is up for parole and Sander needs to figure out a way to keep him in jail or keep his sister safe if he is released.
I loved how easy the relationship was between Sander, Mat and Noah – not to say they did not work at it – but it very well done.
We get to see a little more supportive side from Vic towards the end of the book when everything with Sander’s Brother in Law comes to a head.
I don’t want to add more and possibly spoil the book for someone else so I’m going to stop my review here and close with - this is an excellent addition to the Cougars series.
Cannot wait for the next book in the series.

I give it 2.5 stars rounded down since there are so many 5 star reviews already.
Reason for 2.5 stars is I could read it through and enjoy it enough not to quit, however I feel the polyamorous relationship here isn't done well enough. It had potential but lack of communication and characters being rather flat (except for the MC whose name I don't remember due to this being 1st person narrative) undermines it. They don't talk about rules to follow and they claim to love each other within weeks of meeting.
This book would have benefitted from being longer and putting Matteo more in the limelight, his problems feels glazed over and we're missing out plus on the conversations between Mateo and Noah where they decide to bring in our MC.
Also the MC feels mostly fine until he gets a panic attac, and from my view I don't really get why he'd need medication... therapy sure but medication?
My favourite part though was in the ending when the MC has the last panic attac written in the story. Still I would have liked to know how the MC's career turned out in the epilogue.
Recommend to read? If you have time and like the other books in the series and don't mind three in a romantic relationship, but I know it's difficult to write MMM and here I felt it lacked and therefore I didn't become invested in them. I just wanted to read about Wade and if the MC managed to get into NHL (which he didn't in this book at least).
So it was a shit show on massive proportion... I loooove good MMM. Roe Horvat written one that I love. But this one missed a mark. Most of the time we have one strong established couple (or strugling couple) and one additional MC that they both lust/later love for. In there we have very strange dynamic with characters that I strongly disliked. Two of them struggle with personal demons from the past and third (supposed strong one) we don't know nothing deeper about (plays baseball, has suportive mother, is from Puerto Rico???). I hate train wreck characters who are crashing crashing through all the book and in the end miraculously end up in HEA. It's like WHAT?! JUST?! HAPPENED?! Maybe the sex will save it (there was times in my life that book without plot got 5 stars because man the sex was OMFG!!)? The sex was meh. We have rape victim and abusive childhood wictim (who don't go to therapy and refuse to take meds) in sexy times.... yeah train wreck... Time period is very short. Nothing is resolved. Too little conversations with the three of them about expectations and relationship dinamics. And we have murder in the mix! Parole hearing! Panic attacks! Outing! Press conferences!Moving in moving out!Meet the parents! Only just in this short time period!?!😄🙈 I'm weeping for my lost time😭😭😭😭😳😄

An amazingly beautiful book, heartbreak, torture, guilt, abuse, and love, lots and lots of love! The demons of the past haunt Sander nightly, his ex-brother-in-law is in prison but parole hearing is coming up. Hiding his sister and niece to protect them is added weight on his shoulders. When he meets Mateo, a baseball player in the minors and Noah, an artist who has demons of his own.
The three start out as friends then spending time together they become more than just friends. They are each other’s strength, sounding board and keeper of secrets. They build a bond that no one, even an convicted abuser will drive a wedge between them. They will fight back for each other, for love and happiness!
This emotional story just tugged at my heart strings. It has fun times, hockey, locker room arguments, oh the sexy times are hot but it also has friendship and trust and learning to lean on others. It is really a fantastic book!!! Grab a few tissues and get ready to love Sander, Mateo and Noah!
Sander has a front, the sassy sarcastic butthole that everyone sees and knows isn't the real him. When he meets Mateo, the two immediately hit it off, until Mat says two words "my boyfriend". When Mat suggest they have a gaming night, knowing that a good friend is something he needs, Sanders says yes. When Sander finally gets to meet Noah, Mat's boyfriend, the three end up striking up a great friendship. One fateful moment will change the budding friendship and might be the start of something more. With tons of issues; trauma from past events, job issues, and even a bit of insecurity, can the three make a relationship work? Is there even room in Noah and Mat's relationship for a third?
So far this is my fav of the series. Giving us some real chemistry, watching the three try and make a triad work, some steamy naughty times, and the past coming to haunt them, this was an entertaining read. I give this 4 stars.
From that review: " I normally don't go out of my way to read M/M/M stories because that's just not my choice in coupling but when an author does a terrific and moving job in not only bringing the three men together in a realistic way but also in a manner that makes us want to see all of them in a loving, supportive, and yes, hot threesome. V.L. Vocey does that here with Sander, Mateo, and Noah, all of whom are so very different men.
One is a hockey player, one a baseball player and another a manga artist. And yet all three fill the empty holes in each others hearts and lives and the author makes us see and feel that."
Such an emotionally invigorating and emotionally draining story, if that makes any sense to anyone other than myself. Sander's background story is so very heartbreaking and inspiring too in connection to how he and his sister survived it. The love Sander finds with Mat and Noah is so beautifully written in both it's uniqueness and perfection. Ms. Locey did such a great job in drawing for us a picture throughout that it was possible to "see" everything as it happens. The cruelty of a man who should never have seen the light of day and in the acceptance they get from those closest and in the swinging of a Louisville Slugger. Absolutely loved this book as I was , at different times, fanning myself, scared, angry, laughing out loud and releasing a sigh of relief and saying "they are so adorable together" . Highly recommend this book. Looking forward to the next in this series.
Overtime is another wonderful romance in a series that is one of my favorites. Sander breaks a reader's heart, as he deals with anxiety and loneliness. He is grouchy and sarcastic, but that is the coping mechanism he uses to protect himself. As much as I love Victor, he is especially difficult in this book. He really gives Sander a hard time, when he isn't aware of all that Sander is dealing with. When Sander meets Mateo, then Noah, it's a relief to know he won't be alone anymore. These three loving men truly make each other complete. Each can be vulnerable with the other two, and each is strong when needed. Their connection is beautiful. There is violence in this story, and everything is not rainbows and sunshine. But this is the story of a wonderful love growing between three very different, but very wonderful, men. I love it!
This was an amazing Hurt/Comfort read. So heartfelt and heartbreaking. You definitely connect on an emotional level with the story and the characters due the traumas.
I did wish the epilogue was further into the future and we got more closure to the story. I didn't like Mat's decision. Sanders career in limbo about if he will continue or quit, too, is frustrating. Wish that Noah had come out stronger after facing another trauma, but he faced the fear and fought back. He should have felt empowered and gelt some sense of overcoming that oppression... after the therapy of course, which is why I felt the story stopped too abruptly. Needed more closure and an established HEA with their careers, home and love lives.
