I don't know who's publishing these collections of short stories, but I wish they would learn to use a Kindle template and hire an editor. You settle in for what you think is going to be a good story based on the blurb and then within the hour you've finished it. The first story isn't that bad, plot-wise. But it needs a lot of editing and formatting, as do the rest of the stories in this collection.
Finished it quite a while ago. First off, it was misleading as it was not a single book but a group of separate stories. Most were not particularly engaging or were somewhat engaging with a let-down of an ending. And as an English major, I was negatively influenced by the lack of editing -- words not spelled or used properly, incorrect punctuation -- basics that should never need to be addressed in a review. Summary: not ready for prime time.
The stories were readable. I do not like to rate anything I read negatively. I always try to give an honest opinion on everything and make it positive. So this really bothers me but I am sure I am not the only one. To all the authors, you need to get more or better proofreaders. The amount of typos in these stories makes me not want to finish the book.
