About the author

Zoe Arden

It was from reading Agatha Christie’s mystery books that inspired Zoe to write cozy mystery novels. Zoe liked the fact that cozy mysteries are able to offer readers a form of escapism that typical detective stories can’t.

Like what Marilyn Stasio, who has been the Crime columnist forThe New York TimesBook Review since the late 1980s, recently wrote: “The abiding appeal of the cozy mystery owes a lot to our collective memory, true or false, of simpler, sweeter times.” It is Zoe’s desire that her writings will evoke that nostalgic memory in all of us; those memories of the good old days.

What sets Zoe apart in her writings is her fusing of Mystery with Paranormal elements, a combination which will bring about fantasies that are intriguing and engaging. Her stories contain unexpected twists and sometimes light-hearted moments that will make one smile at Zoe’s quirkiness, fun and wittiness in her writings.

A great series

After 13 books, it would be an assumption that they start getting boring or redundant but not so for this series! Each mystery is unique and I love solving them right along with Ava. Her romantic relationship with Colt is rocky but always works out in the end.

Sadie’s old boyfriend has come to town to meet
Eli Fortune. The old boyfriend works for a
pharmaceutical company. He has a secret formula
to sell while on the Island, unknown to Sadie.
The head nurse of the hospital resigns asking Dr.
Dunne ) to replace her with Sadie. What’s going on
with her?
Then Ava and her Aunt find Sadie and her old
boyfriend lying in the park. Sadie is in bad condition
but will survive but her friend is dead....
When Ava”s father gets arrested, Ava decides to
investigate.
Combining a variety of issues into a complexly,
plot make this a well developed, dangerous,
suspenseful story.
The characters make an artfully and cleverly crafted
plus well defined, scary and interesting cast.
The interaction of the three fur babies: Snowy
the cat (Ava's familiar), Tootsie the cat (Trixie's familiar)
and Rocky the wolfhound (Eleanor's familiar) add to
the flavor of the story.
Be prepared for a Surprise Ending!!
A Highly Recommended Read!!!

Ava always seems to have something to do when there is a murder around. Good thing her detective boyfriend (Colt) Is understanding when she becomes the sleuths. Witches, warlocks, goblins..You would think with all those powers things wouldn't go wrong, unless you put too much muggerwart in the cookies lol I love the characters in this series. I enjoy the friendships and the turmoil between them. This book has some very funny moments and is an all around good read. I certainly wasn't expecting the ending to come out the way it did.

Oh my Witches, how many people can be arrested? Ava has her work cut out for her in this one. There were some interesting happenings taking place and affecting so many people. Remember, you should only use your magic for good things. I still love Snowy and wish I had a familiar. The characters in this series are like family now and I really enjoy reading about them and seeing what is going to happen next.

Ava has everything going for her, a great job with family members, a fiance and wedding date finally set and then of course her dad is getting remarried to a wonderful person the whole family loves. That is until he is framed for murder! Can Ava and Snowy find out who the real killer is and why? This series is really great, like going home after being gone too long. You won't believe the ending unless you read for yourself, so grab a copy and get to it!

When drugs control people an entire town can be affected. Poor Ava Fortune’s family is taking turns in jail. Ava’s fiancé is the one locking them up. Will Ava and Colt’s relationship survive the incarcerations? A surprise wedding of Ava and Colt might help. Snowball’s present might help as well…..hope it’s not what she left for Colt on his doorstep.

This is the 13th. book in this series and it definitely doesn’t disappoint. Enjoy!!!!

This is a good mystery series with witches and other supernatural creatures.

Ava's father is accused of murder, so she investigates to clear him. I enjoy this series very much. The mystery is good, and there is humor. Ava has a familiar cat named Snowball who assists her. Ava does do stupid things at times, which put her in danger. Fortunately, she has her friends and Snowball.

I enjoyed reading this

I enjoyed reading this book. I didn't like the fact that they kept referring to the Sheriff by his tittle other then his first name by his sister & brother-in-law and his niece. The only one that used his first name was his wife. I thought it was very naive of Ava to do some of the things she did.

Great witch family! Trying to clear her family from being charged with the murder of a handsome and soon to be wealthy friend of her dad's fiance, Ava becomes persona non grata at the local hospital. It is a good and fast moving mystery. Just wish they didn't describe some of those bakery goods so much...makes you wish the book came with samples.

“ Your greatest enemies are always the ones present themselves first his friends.”

Many romantic Entanglements plus murder mystery and intrigue. There are times when I wonder why Ava forgot something it seems so simple to me but it was explained in the end. Enjoy your reading!
