The Case of False Blame

Rate this book
They are smart. They are brave. And they are back!
Detective Bella and Gr. Acie are wagging their way through the human world.
When Bella’s thirteen-year-old, human brother is accused of smoking at school, it is up to his super sleuth, canine sister and her best friend to prove his innocence.
How can one determined Siberian Husky and one Poodle friend crack the case inside a school they can’t enter?
How far will Bella be willing to go to find a way to let people know what they found?
The distinguished title “Gr.” earned by Acie at an elite training center makes her the perfect expert to tell the story from a hilarious canine pawspective—even teaching us a thing or two about humans along the way.

Best friends Bella and Gr.Acie are back for their second pet detecting caper in The Case of False Blame. Like Book One in this series, this is a satisfying story to read to younger children ages 5 to 7 and a chapter book kids in grade 3 or 4 can read themselves.
The stars of the story are the two canine detectives, who find the true culprits (two school bullies) and save the reputation of 13-year-old Kyle who didn't, as these clever dogs prove, smoke cigarettes in the school washroom. What I and my favorite 10-year-old like most about this series (we read them together) is the stories are told from clever Gr.Acie's paws-on-the-ground point of view. She's a great character and a dog just about any kid would love to know. It's fun to see the story as a smart dog does, with realistic doggie abilities and behavior. There is a moral to this story, but it is handled with a light touch; this story is more about trust and the relationships between the two dog friends and their relationships with their human family members than an anti-bullying message.
These are gentle stories - there is excitement, but no scary moments for the sensitive child. Ideal for bedtime reading, story-time, grandparent time, or a gift for a child who loves dogs and a pleasure to share!

A funny and entertaining whodunit from a canine pawspective!

This is a delightful second book in the series. I read it with my grandkids and they loved not only the story, but also the illustrations (by Alex Cuthbert). I thought the text and illustrations worked very well together. Equally as adorable was the first installment: The Case of Missing Max(Detective Bella Unleashed Book 1)

Author Otakara Klettke writes in a wonderful, exciting and imaginative style that guarantees the attention of young minds. If you ever wanted to bond even more with your children or grandchildren, this would be a lovely story to share with them.

It seems to me that the books in this series were created with a lot of love and joy and it’s obvious that the author really enjoys creating such wonderful stories. Thank you for sharing with us the gift that you have obviously worked so hard to refine. We’ll be looking forward to seeing what’s coming next? Surely there’s more adventure from these canine detectives? A well-deserved five stars from us.

A second beautifully written and illustrated, solid gold children's book. I loved the first Bella book and I loved this one every bit as much. I'm just sorry that my children are grownup teenagers already, because I think it's a wonderful book for children. The characters are extremely well-developed and very compelling, and the plot has some great twists. At several points it's impossible to know how Detective Bella will ever manage to solve the mystery and save the reputation of her human brother. The great illustrations add to the fun. Entertaining, with a lot of thrill, this is a book I would recommend to any child, and to any parent!

A well-written, fun and gentle story. I love the way the author slips in all the little tidbits of information about dogs (and people) that show she truly understands our four-legged friends. Highly recommend this book to all young readers and younger readers whose grandparents love to read to them. Looking forward to the rest of the series.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and can honestly say this second book is even more fun than the first. The author again manages to write a really enjoyable book that delivers an important message about courage and integrity with out being preachy. This is a book that both kids and adults will enjoy. The book is written from the POV of Gr. Acie the dog which is wonderfully fun.

Grr.. acie

This book is as lovely as the last one. The action is just taken up another level. I love the doggie language and the way they talk. Glad our canine friends are still safe. Looking forward to the next one.

This is a wonderful story that explores the special bond between humans and dogs. A young boy is falsely accused and his dog tries to think of a way to prove his innocence. The story is told from the dog's perspective and encourages children to recognize different things from a very gentle perspective.
An engaging book for children to read by themselves or an enjoyable book for an adult to read aloud!

OTAKARA KLETTKE’S THE CASE OF FALSE BLAME
ANOTHER GRRRRREAT CASE!!!
I love dogs and about anything to do with them: pet shows, stores, adoption centers, even bakeries what more movies and books. I have read the first case of Bella and it’s already that woofin’ good but this is something else. The cases of Bella are interesting. They get better. I could not wait for the next case. I love that this book offers lessons for as humans to take as well and the vocabularies provided at the end of the story for children to understand the words further.

Two paws up!

This is a wonderful book appropriate for all kids. The characters are loveable and the story is well written with beautiful illustrations. The author does a really great job of bringing the reader into a dog's world and way of thinking, and readers are going to love seeing the world through a dog's eyes. In this story, Gr. Acie finds herself tasked with solving a mystery where the boy next door is falsely accused of something at school. He's in big trouble and he's completely innocent. So Gracie teams up with her best friend Bella (the boy next door's dog and Gr. Acie's best friend) to figure out who the real culprit is. There are some fun action scenes as these loveable pooches run amuck to solve The Case of False Blame!
Easily 5 stars and highly recommend. You or your kids will absolutely enjoy this one!
