A suspense novel by the author of the Hunter Jones Mystery Series. Where is Sienna Dale? Her Uncle Billy doesn’t seem to know – or even care much that she’s been missing for four days. Her grandfather is a drunk who can barely remember her name, her aunt is a drama queen, and the one person in the family who cared about the bookish sixteen-year-old has just died in the local nursing home.
For B.J. Bandry, who is already feeling woefully insecure in her position as Laurel Grove’s Acting Chief of Police, the case is baffling, the family infuriating and the stakes extremely high, even when it becomes clear that Sienna is safe and sound, somewhere nearby, and just has no trust in the local police department for reasons of her own.

I loved Charlotte Moore's Hunter Jones Mystery Series. Somehow or other, Ms. Moore fell off my radar and I am very happy I found her again. This first mystery in the Laurel Grove Series is terrific. Great characters and a big mystery in this one. I totally enjoyed every minute of it. Onto the next book in this little series. :)

Best one yet!
I have read all of Ms. Moore's Books and enjoyed every single one but this one was my favorite. I suspect though it is going to end up being a current favorite since I hope there will be more in the future. Always a great Southern writer, Ms. Moore's characters are so real you forget they aren't real! My favorite character was... Well I don't think I will say but you will find her and love her too.

Amazing.
I didn't think it was possible to get two different series from the same author but it is this proves it.
Well written, brilliant believable characters all extremely well rounded. Could not put the book down and that doesn't happen very often. Jolly well done, more please many more.

Gotta love it!
Great story! Lots of twists and turns and characters you feel as if you know them.

Well written
Great mystery and main character was good creating a feeling of suspense. Sad at times to see the hardships she had to go through just to have a better life
