In Between the Lines: Of Faith and Work

Rate this book
Professional excellence and religious faith have been at odds over the past few decades. It's often thought that someone should pick only one avenue to pursue and that the other must be thrown out entirely. But, in reality, pursuing God through your career and your ministry for Christ can become a stepping stone toward making you even better at what you do, and who you are. In Between the Lines of Faith and Work follows the journey of a student through her training to become, and then work as a physician—experiencing the daily difficulties of juggling life and education. It details her struggle to overcome meningitis and includes the incredible blessings and miracles that accompany trusting God—even through the pain. This book is written specifically for grad students and young adults who are negotiating the steps required to "get somewhere" in their career, with all the daily complications that brings. It's written for those who are living out the tension in between who you are now, and who you want to be. It encourages and challenges—and is written in chapters that can be studied individually, or used as the basis for group discussions.
