The story is told by an unnamed female narrator who recounts the story of the time she spent in the country with her former lover. As though she is speaking directly to her former lover she recalls, in great detail, the landscape of the area and some of the events of the winter they spent together.

Beautiful and cozy. “Who expects small things to survive when even the largest get lost, people forget years and remember moments, seconds and symbols are left to sum things up, the black shroud over the pool, love in its shortest form becomes a word, when i remember all about that time is one winter. Snow. Even now saying “snow”my lips move so that they kiss the air.”
A beautiful description of first snow. As a landscape photographer, each fall I wait for snow. After a long, hot, and dry summer, it's beautiful to behold the first snow which normally coats the top of our peaks...reminiscent of powdered sugar as a culinary delight.
