This play is based upon a real, historical event that occurred on April 17, 1897 in Aurora, Texas, an Old West town located northwest of Fort Worth. Residents reported that a spaceship crashed in town and that they recovered "an inhabitant not of this world" from the wreckage. The incident was reported in the "Dallas Morning News" and has become one of the world's best-known UFO stories.
