BOTTOM LINE: Enjoyable pattern book from an old stand-by, Family Circle, reliably (if not prettily) photographed and illustrated, with some very nice patterns, although IMO the cover one was not one of them. Fringe??? ick. And that big boatneck looks like something I wore in the 1970s even though this was printed in 2004, what *were* they thinking? But I digress. (grin)
Most of the patterns are decent (translation: something I might actually wear...) comfortable, easy to make, and are actually photographed on larger-sized models, albeit at the lower end of the large range (i.e., about an 18). That helps us even larger-sized folks get an idea as to how the finished product is likely to drape or fit, something that is difficult to get a handle on when the models are, um, "models", kwim? Several very basic, well-constructed sweaters in interesting stitch patterns that you can use or not, a fair balance between knit and crochet, and a couple of patterns I might actually make, maybe even soon (grin) made this a very good pattern book to get from the library.
