Jack Stratton was born an orphan, his father died on the battlefield and his mother soon after he was born. He was brought up by his Uncle Jonas and his Aunt Natalie in Stratton Hall as a poor relation. His Uncle never accepted him as a son, but his Aunt Natalie cared for him and loved him. He has a step-sister Sara, the same age as him and they grew up as twins.
As Jack grows up he deals with conflict with his elder cousin Charles, though enjoys the close love of his Aunt and Sara. That conflict continues for several years but reaches a conclusion once Jack is fully grown and has joined the Army.
The Beginning describes his early life and his sexual awakening. How his relationship with his Aunt Natalie and his step-sister Sara develops and causes confusion that will last several years.
This story is intended for adult readers and contains sexual and adult themes.
