Same as the last. Bad writing. Excessive number of killings in every book. Cindy is either crying or screaming or raging or in shock repeatedly throughout book. According to end of book the next should have been out already but no sign of it.

Addendum....decided will not read another of these. I dislike Cindy more in each book and loosing interest in the Jeremiah story because he acts so besotted with her.

I love Debbie's Psalm 23 Mysteries, but I have to say the grammatical errors are really annoying and distracting. In every book, she misuses I instead of me. ex. "He spoke to Jeremiah and I." Maybe she thinks it makes it look more elegant. But it's just wrong. If you remove the other person from the sentence, the wrongness is glaring. "He spoke to I." ?? "He spoke to Jeremiah and me." OK.

It is a shame that she allows these errors to continue throughout the series, because otherwise it is well-written and engaging.

Also, at one point in the book, someone "lied down." Should be "laid down." Please! Debbie, get some beta readers or a better editor.

Wow! Seriously I think that the Psalm 23 Mysteries just get better and better! IN THE PRESENCE OF MINE ENEMIES was a thrill ride a minute! So many bad things happening, that make the whole story so good! I am totally a fan of Cindy and Jeremiah and I hope their story ends happily, because their courtship/dating/crime-solving has certainly not been conducive to a long-lasting relationship. As with most of the books in the series this one hops in right where the last book ended. Oh so exciting and always leaving the reader crying Noooooooooooooooo! I love the family that Cindy and Jeremiah have formed with their friends. Because we certainly know that Cindy's mom and sometimes even her brother are a pain in the butt! In this installment Cindy's mom shows her true colors and they are not pretty. I wanted to smack that woman!! I love that the author puts some levity in a rather intense story by giving the characters such wonderful senses of humor! I laughed out loud several times and had to read different snippets to my husband for him to know why I was laughing. As the author's fans keep begging for more I will add my plea as well; Come on Debbie! Hurry up and finish ANOINTEST MY HEAD WITH OIL, I can't wait!!

Good story, but I am so tired of the over-the-top emotions of anger and violence the main characters exhibit. I also am increasingly tired of her horrible grammar - she doesn't know how to properly use pronouns or the proper cognation of words like lie vs. lay - things 4th graders learn. Although I have read every book up to now, I am not sure I will finish the series.

I can't help but wonder what her total body count is for the 15 books I have read so far.....

I'm just tired. I am done.

After the cliffhanger of the previous book, I was more than ready to continue this series. This book does not disappoint! I could not put it down. Another exciting installment!

Number of stars: 5 out of 5 stars

Genre: Christian mystery/suspense

Best for ages: 15+

Warnings: murder, torture, terrorists, assault, swearing, bombs, graphic descriptions of injuries

Favorite quote: She couldn’t get any other words out to explain what she was feeling. All she knew was that something terrible was happening to him. She began to sob in fear and pain. Geanie dropped next to her and grabbed her hand. “God, we ask for your protection over Jeremiah right now,” she began in a strong, clear voice. “You’ve protected him more times than I can count. You’ve protected us all. Please God, watch over him, bring him safely through this and home to us quickly.” Geanie’s voice started to shake as Joseph sat down and grabbed her hand. “Father, heal whatever needs healing. Give him strength, courage, and wisdom to see what path to take.” Traci sat down and grabbed Cindy’s other hand, holding it gently. “God, help him. Help us.” Cindy’s father joined the circle and began to pray in a deep, calm voice.

Back cover summary: Jeremiah has worked really hard to put his past behind him. His carefully built house of cards all begins to tumble down, though, when he’s accused of murder. Complicating things is the fact that enemies of his past have found him and are determined to destroy him for good. Everyone he loves is a target and he must do everything in his power to protect them and put his own demons to rest before someone else he knows is killed.

My initial thoughts: This masterpiece of a book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout its entirety. When I was done, I felt that I was in another world! Ms. Viguie masterfully combines dialogue and description into a suspenseful and intriguing read that fans of the series will love. She brings back our favorite characters and launches them into the plot, and manages to give us an insight into each one and what they’re thinking. Our favorite hero, Jeremiah is in trouble once again as he tries to track down enemies from his past and put it all to rest. Thankfully, he’s not alone as his group of close-knit friends are right behind him, trying to figure out who framed him for murder and trying to clear his name. Even his fiance, Cindy breaks free of her binds of fear, and tries to help him. Those who have read the series already know the events leading up to this book, so if you haven’t already, go read the whole series, which starts with The Lord is My Shepherd. I would really recommend reading the whole series before you read this one, as it will make a whole lot more sense.

My positive thoughts: This has been my favorite book so far in the Psalm 23 Mystery Series. Here’s a tip for you: don’t read this book at 11 at night in the dark. This book will grip you, and won’t let you go. I loved getting lost in the plot, as unsolved mysteries in previous books, are brought to light. I also loved reading the realistic and sometimes funny dialogue. These moments of funniness and intrigue made the book more interesting and entertaining. (Especially the scene between Joseph’s lawyer and Keenan- hilarious!) I also loved the aspect of faith in this book and series. It was especially interesting to me to see Mark and Traci’s faith bloom. It was refreshing to see the characters rely on prayer and God to get them through a tough situation instead of trying to figure it all out themselves.

My negative thoughts: No negatives from me here. I just wish the next book was out so I could read it!

My final thoughts: What a fast-paced entertaining 15th novel from my favorite series! It kept me on the edge of my seat as I got lost in the world of suspense, murder, and high risk situations. I loved reading about the characters, and how they relied on each other and God to get through a difficult time. Ms. Viguie has written each character in such a way that you can’t help but be interested in their backstory. Finally, the mystery and intrigue holds a grip on me, and I am extremely excited to read the next book. Bring on Anointest My Head With Oil!

Jeremiah finally thought he was going to get it all: the girl, the job, the friends. Then the police come barging in and arrest him for murder, and his world comes falling down around him. Of the murders he's accused of, he only did one and it was self defense, but he's not going to tell Detective Keenan that. When Joseph's lawyer gets him off and they all return home, Jeremiah realizes the terrorists who are after him aren't going to stop until they kill those close to him and then him. He arranges with Martin to keep them all in protective custody until he catch the rest of the terrorists, against Cindy's protests. The fact that Cindy's parents and brother are visiting at the same time doesn't help matters, especially not when her mom and brother are plotting to break them up. When he goes out alone to stop the killers, Cindy can't help but worry that something is going to go wrong. After all, they're always stronger together. The only way to protect him now though is to figure out who the true murderer is, before it's too late.
I found this one of the more exciting books in the series, although the resolution with Cindy's family was rather disappointing. The ending however was what bugged me the most. I started this series several years ago and only recently discovered there were more books, so I was able to read almost a dozen of them in row. Now however, I've caught up to the author and have to wait for the next release, which is supposed to summer 2018 so hopefully any day now.

Debbie Viguie has done it again. I have pretty much loved every book in this series and this one is no different. I'm kept on the edge of my seat, and am not sure what's really going on until the very end. This is the 15th book in the series. While the story itself is fine on its own, if you haven't read the other books in the series, you won't understand some of the history and relationships, and you might feel like you came to a movie 20 minutes late.... but you'll still get the gist and an enjoyable story. While this is a Christian book/series, there are a few minor swear words included in dialogue for authenticity - I always like to be forewarned when that's the case. But this was another great mystery to add to this series. Can't wait for the next one!

This is about par for the rest of the series, although I hated for one of the characters to be SPOILER .... maimed.

This book and some of the rest make me wonder if the author has serious family relationship issues, with multiple main characters becoming estranged from their families. They seem impetuous & unreasonable, but I know that sometimes people are that way.

Some other reviewers complained about the bad grammar, and I have to say that I noticed some of that, too, but I don't think it detracted from the story as much for me as it did for them.

And yes, the story is unrealistic, but that's common in the genre.

And yes again, the anger is over-the-top, but that's been true throughout the series. If you've made it to book 15, you probably expect it, and yet keep reading.

I first discovered this series in 2011 and have been following Cindy and Jeremiah ever since. I have grown to really enjoy the friendships between all the main characters. They are there for each other whenever needed and will stand up for one another. This was especially true in this story when Cindy’s mom and brother were completely out of line in comments they made about Cindy and Jeremiah. I cheered when Tracey reacted on Cindy’s behalf.

This story picks up right where the previous book ended, and you are immediately immersed into the action. Not only has Jeremiah has been arrested for murder but at the same time it appears there are others determined to kill him. In order to protect Cindy and his friends he recruits a contact to protect them while he sets out on his own to stop these people. Cindy is determined to be there for Jeremiah and figure out not only who is framing him for murder but also help him stop those that have ugly plans for him. I had no idea who was behind any of the events. Each twist and turn kept me guessing and cringing. There were times I found the subject to be a bit dark. I do have to say there was one word used (just once but still) that I did not appreciate reading and feel a different word could have conveyed the same meaning.

Just like previous books this book ended with a cliff-hanger that has left me guessing what is going to happen next. Cindy has grown so much since the beginning of this series.

Great action and suspense

I have loved this series from the beginning. The love story of Cindy and Jeremiah is filled with so many “little” adventures. The interactions of the network of friends is heartwarming. This segment also gives us a better view of Cindy’s birth family. She is amazing in spite of her mother. Can hardly wait for the next book!

I just don't appreciate "Christian" authors, or as they call them now "inspirational" authors, who use foul language in their writings. Living out one's faith should be visible in every aspect of life. At least the punctuation was a little better in this title. Still a great storyline.

Cliffhanger ending

Great book! Of course Debbie clears up some mysteries but leaves the reader with many more. What would a Psalms Mystery be without a cliffhanger?

Another wonderful Book!

I chose my rating because I just love this series. The plot was good and the characters were good. It was good to have this series again after such a long "rest".
