British ad exec Dylan Locke isn't looking for love. He isn't looking for fate. He's definitely not looking for Audrey Lind. She's pretty, far too young, and overly romantic--in short, exhausting.
But when the girl, young enough to be his daughter, literally lands in his lap and asks for his expertise, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't interested. In her body, in her innocence, in her philosophy.
In the kind of kismet that starts with kisses.
But Audrey isn't looking for love either--she's looking for lessons, and she's certain Dylan knows everything she needs to learn.
If he agrees to play the teacher can he keep his heart?

Books in Dirty Sweet duet should be read in order: Book 1: Sweet Liar Book 2: Sweet Fate
ARC provided to me by author Laurelin Paige in exchange for an honest review.
FIVE FORBIDDEN STARS ”I was caught. Ensnared in her net. I’d taken the bait, and after one sweet taste, I was captured. There was nothing left for me to do but surrender.”
This is why Laurelin Paige will always and forever reign supreme! Sweet Liar is absolutely perfect! Dylan and Audrey hooked me from the very page and by the last, I was a breathless gasping mess.... literally panting for more. Well played LP!
The trope, main characters, secondary characters, storyline, dialogue.....All perfect! I’m a sucker for age gap. And if you’ve read the books in the series you’ve probably been waiting for this story, just as I have. And man oh man does it hit the spot!
What I loved most: The differing viewpoint Dylan and Audrey have on love and their situation sets the stage for one of the sexiest books in the series. The back and forth and forbidden aspect is very well done. The tension and angst add so much to the action of the story. I swear I felt beaver blocked a couple times, but loved every minute of it. If you’ve followed my reviews of the earlier books in the series, you know of my love for Donovan Kincaid. He again makes an appearance and has one the best one liners ever! As always, this author’s writing is above reproach. She weaves magic into every line. Her stories are crisp, engaging, and downright satisfying! I literally sat in one spot the entire time I read this book. I could not put it down!! Gah! I need more right now!
Simply put.... I loved it and you need to read it ASAP!
*****4.5 STARS***** {ARC Generously Provided by Author}
I was caught. Ensnared in her net. I’d taken the bait, and after one sweet taste, I was captured. There was nothing left for me to do but surrender, let her cut me open and skin me. Let her feast.
SWEET LIAR the latest by Laurelin Paige, is an off the charts STEAMY "May/December" romance between a sexy and powerful British businessman and a beautiful and starry-eyed college coed. We’ve already been introduced to Donovan Kinkaid, Weston King, and Nathan Sinclair. Now it’s time to fall in love with Dylan Locke.
Dylan has been through hell and back when it comes to love and at forty-two, he is completely over matters of the heart. Quick and uncomplicated sexual encounters are more his style. But a young and very beautiful, Audrey Lind, is about to shake up his world. She’s the younger sister of one of his employees and although they’ve only just met, there is a spark that burns bright between them. After being in each other’s company for one night, his brain is telling him to run far away from the impressionable girl with romance in her eyes, but something strong is tethering him to her.
Audrey has only been in two relationships and she was deeply in love with both men, but they weren’t able to deliver the heat between the sheets. She’s wildly attracted to Dylan and believes he can teach her the art of seduction and to help her learn what her body craves.
When they finally give in to their desires, it will not be that easy for either of them to treat their relationship as temporary and strictly physical. Book one ends leaving readers wanting to know what happens next for Dylan and Audrey. Hopefully, this month will fly by so the wait won’t be too agonizing!
I loved it when I was forced to read it chapter by chapter every month last year when Laurelin released this story exclusively to her newsletter subscribers only, and my love then grew more when I received this ARC and devoured all eleven chapters once again - this time in the span of a morning.
Eleven chapters that're full of fun, flirty, and filthy banter. Eleven chapters full of sexy, sensual, and steaming scenes. Eleven chapters full of hot, gasp-worthy, and face-fanning moments that had me wishing that this story would never have to end.
Sweet Liar was everything I hoped it'd be and more; it had all I've come to expect from a Laurelin Paige story - a hooking storyline, fun and relatable characters, and sizzling chemistry between those characters that'll leave you a gasping mess. But more so it had all I've come to know and love from a story set in her Dirty Universe - a hero who is dirty filthy rich, a heroine who is fierce and fiery to the core, and a unique storyline that sucked me in from the very beginning.
It's a story I'd been highly anticipating to read ever since that moment in Dirty Filthy Rich Love when Audrey let slip that she'd kissed Dylan Locke, a man who's not just co-CEO of the company her sister works for, but a man who is also twenty years her senior, and that right there was the kind of story I wanted to read. Though I'll admit, I'm always hesitant to read age-gap romances, mainly because the ones I've read before in the past have ended up being huge disappointments. But I think it's safe to say - going by my five star rating - that I was not disappointed with all that Laurelin delivered here in Sweet Liar.
An age-gap romance that's also a swooning Daddy-foreplay romance is what this novella is all about, one that, at first, had me howling with laughter (mainly at Dylan's cluelessness), before then leaving me a gasping mess at the chemistry that only ever continued to grow between these two characters the more it is their story went on - their funny, unique, dirty, filthy, and just downright sexy story.
And it's a story that I just truly could not get enough of, and told in a dual POV, this quick read is one you are guaranteed to devour if you're a fan of Laurelin's and her works, or if you're just a general lover of dirty, filthy, age-gap romances. And now? There honestly isn't anything else to say other than: Bring on Sweet Fate! And just in case you're wondering, Sweet Liar doesn't end on a cliffhanger, but it does end with an open-ending and a guarantee of more to come, and I am now counting down the days until I'm able to get Sweet Fate in my hands, because Sweet Liar... It was just one hell of a book; one I absolutely adored, and one I just truly did not want to see have to end.
-A million people in the city, and you and I met. That’s kismet.
Dylan Locke is a gorgeous, British bachelor ad exec with Reach Inc. He's a wealthy businessman from London, and is divorced with a teenage son. He travels back and forth to New York to see his son, and to touch base with his partners Donovan, Weston and Cade. While at a business dinner one evening he meets an employees younger sister who he finds intriguing. She's extremely beautiful, but way too young for him, so he doesn't take her interest in him seriously. Then after he decides to be nice and offers to see her home, everything changes.
Audrey Lind is a college student that's in New York visiting her sister Sabrina during her holiday break. She meets her sisters boss, and it's lust at first sight. He's tall, dark, and handsome with a to die for British accent. He's incredibly sexy, but she soon learns he's emotionally unavailable, and a bit of a jaded cynic. They are complete opposites, but she still wants him desperately. His heart is hardened, where hers is soft. She's unrealistically optimistic, and he's a realist. She believed in fairytales, and was the kind of girl who wanted hearts and flowers, and he didn't believe in forever. He'd long ago had his heart destroyed, and would never let himself be vulnerable again. The rose colored glasses were permanently off.
Dylan had sworn off love, but not sex, and Audrey was all sorts of temptation. She was young enough to be his daughter, and he thought something between them would be inappropriate and indecent. Hung up on their age difference, he just couldn't go there... or could he? His body and mind are in conflict as this stunning, alluring woman thoroughly seduces him. She's confident, fun and bold as hell. He's flustered, but finally gives in to the pull. He's completely fascinated with her and the chemistry between them is undeniable.
-I was a girl who felt things. I knew who I was. I knew what I was made of- big emotions packed into a little body.
-I lived from the heart. I loved with my entirety. I loved frequently and deeply.
-Everything, everything I could ever want or need or desire was found in the electric field of this kiss.
-Oh, the things I could show her. The ways I could be with her.
-It was impossible to look anywhere but at her. She was exquisite and engaging. Irresistible perfection.
-Breathtaking. That was the word for her. She stole the air from my lungs. She smothered me with her beauty.
Audrey wants new experiences full of pleasure, and the expertise Dylan can give her. She pursues him for some no strings sexual education with plans to fully enjoy every moment with him. She just couldn't let herself get invested. Her head knew better, but could she control her heart? She always loved with her whole heart, and was still looking for "the one", but she wanted an unforgettable affair first.
Dylan really tried his best to resist her advances, but ultimately found it impossible to deny her. She was like sunshine, a bright beautiful light. She made him feel all hot and bothered, but also made him question everything. He didn't do relationships, commitment, or romance, but this young, trusting, innocent woman made him wonder if it was possible to ever believe in love again?
I devoured this book! This story was like a delicious, forbidden indulgence, and oh so good!!! Sweet Liar is book one in the Dirty Sweet Duet. I just adored Audrey! She's awesome & her confidence is sexy! I was intrigued by Dylan in Laurelin's other Dirty Universe books, and always wanted more of Donovan & Weston's yummy Brit partner. He didn't disappoint. I loved this book so much and can't wait for book 2, Sweet Fate!
“I’m pretty sure I can convince you kismet exists too, if you’ll just do one thing.” Swim, fishy. I didn’t swim. “What’s that?” “Kiss me.”
Aubrey is Sabrina’s little sister from the Dirty Filthy Rich Men duet. She is in her early twenties. Dumbstruck Dylan is Sabrina’s British boss and he is nineteen years older than Aubrey. This does not stop Aubrey from pursuing him and seducing him.
Dylan already has had a destroyed marriage and a teenager son. He does not want any complications. Good thing that Aubrey only wants sex from him.
This was a very entertaining book. Aubrey is super cute chasing Dylan who tries to behave sensibly and maturely on one hand, but wants Aubrey desperately at the same time.
The book has two points of view from Aubrey and Dylan and it finishes with goodbyes and HFN. Of course these two will meet again in the next book. It is a matter of kismet.
I read so many good books but Laurelin Paige has this unfathomable control over my mind. Dylan and Audrey's story turned my inside mushy and messy. In "Sweet Liar" Laurelin Paige once again proved why is she one of the all time best Romance writers. The forbidden, sensual, slowly burning and passionate story of the mismatched couple will haunt me forever. I devoured the story and I am hungry for more. It is deliciously dirty yet sinfully attractive.
Dirty Universe is like my alternate reality. I live and breathe these books. Sweet Liar is an amazing and exquisite addition to the list. Dylan Locke, the smooth talking, charming, uber bossy and devilishly handsome British business partner of Donovan and Weston meets Audrey Lind, the sweet, sexy, lively and innocent sister of Sabrina in dinner. By the night is over, they have gotten into a tangled mess. Audrey wants Dylan to teach her how to be pleased by a real man. Dylan is painfully attracted to her. Then where is the problem? Well except the fact that Dylan is 19 years older and divorced with a boy and has a very hard realistic idea about love in contrast to Audrey's open loving self, we have nothing.
Laurelin Paige taunts you with short sexy interactions between Dylan and Audrey. The whole story is like a prolonged and very intense foreplay not only for the characters but for the readers too. I don't know how she keeps on creating a different kind of super attractive alpha man in each book. Dylan is more mature, experienced and hardened from bitterness of life. But Audrey is breaking all his controlled barriers with her refreshing beauty, compassionate mind and ability to love easily. They think they can separate love from sex. But it is way more complicated. And I have left the characters' fate in the very capable hand of Laurelin Paige. She has handled this sexy age gap story like a pro. I expected nothing less than perfection from her and she delivered it to me on a silver platter. With a side of a very dirty talking bedroom beast!
The sexiness of this story is not in physical acts. It oozes from the conversations. The erotic flavor comes from captivating and mesmerizing writing of Laurelin Paige. The well orchestrated smouldering dance of emotions made it an extraordinary book.
The craving, the want and the magnetic pull that Laurelin Paige excels at in every book is just a strong with Sweet Liar. Audrey is young and lacking the sexual experiences she craves. She wants to learn all she can from someone with more experience, someone who can teach her the things she wants to know about her sex life and what she wants out of a sexual relationship. Dylan is older, a gentlemen and sexy as hell, a man who has been burned before, he has no interest in love and kismet but Audrey has her sights set on him to learn the finer sexy things in life. A short quick read that packs a punch. Fun and flirty, sexy and a little naughty, you will be clenching your thighs together in anticipation. The Dirty Universe just got a lot more interesting and Dylan Locke will melt your panties.
I don't normally enjoy a girl chase man story but this one was super hot!! Right from the beginning these two sizzled on the pages! First, I love the older man trope. It's pretty darn hot that Dylan is 19 years older than Audrey. I think that's why her chasing him worked in this case.
He's so cynical about love and she believes it was fate they met. She knew he was attracted to her so she had no qualms about breaking down his barriers. Seeing his attraction through his eyes and seeing how he thought he should stay away just added to the forbidden attraction of these two.
Audrey's pursuit was done perfectly. I know sometimes a heroine can come off too aggressive but I never felt that with her. She challenged and tempted him until he no longer cared about their age difference.
This hot, little novella ended on a small cliffhanger that has me wanting the second book immediately! I can't wait to see how Audrey changes Dylan's cynical mind.
I love a good May December romance. One that has a feisty and confident heroine and an older reluctant British hero. A hero that knows better but can’t resist an alluring and charming much younger heroine.
Audrey Lind thinks she needs some lessons on improving her love life and when she meets the much older, sexier, Dylan Locke, she sets her sights on winning him over. After much persuading by Audrey, Dylan caves on spending an evening with her knowing that they will each go their separate ways. But a connection is formed even though neither wanted it too.
This novella packed a lot of great banter and sexual tension in this relationship. I thoroughly enjoyed both Audrey and Dylan. I can’t wait to see how their relationship develops. There is a work connection, Dylan is a main boss of Audrey’s sister, so can they really go their separate ways or will KISMET draw them back together?

Sweet Liar the first book in the Dirty Sweet Duet. It is a sexy story of a young woman who seduces a much older man.
Audrey Lind believes in love, the fairytale kind. But until that happens she’ll settle for some mind blowing sex instead of the missionary kind she’s been having.
Dylan is too old for romance, he’s got a couple of failed ones under his belt. Sex on the other hand is something he’s not prepared to live without.
Two strangers on the opposite sides of the spectrum, the dreamer and the pessimist, but with an attraction that cannot be denied. An opportunity too good to pass up.
Both characters were quite lovable in my opinion. Audrey was persistent, fun and passionate about life. Dylan was a closet romantic. After much heartache and disappointment he just needed the right person to prove that ‘love and lust were two sides of the same coin.’
I’m looking forward to to the continuation of their journey.
I think this book meant to be funny and flirty. I mean the story between a 22 years old woman with an gentleman that is 19 years older than her. She needs him to 'teach ' her about pleasure. Because her pleasure past experience is not sufficient for her.
Now the gentleman is a weary, frustrated man who went through ugly divorce. He feels lonely and needs something to excite him. I personally think this book is sexism. It is a very short story. Not much on character development. The chemistry is also dry.
It is a decent read. I dont like it but I dont hate it either
Talk about kindle melting 🔥🔥 This one was the kind of chemistry that necessitates hubby or B.O.B. Dylan is that HOT!!
“Good girl for showing me where you need me.”
Loved the premise of this one. The sweet but just the right amount of dirty Audrey knows exactly what she wants & it’s Dylan. He’s going to teach her every trick he knows. As long as neither of them involve their hearts... Add in witty dialogue, a dash of feelings & you've got a perfect romance. Definitely recommend
Laurelin Paige is one of my current favorite authors (her Fixed Series wrecked me for any other billionaire romances), so I was excited to jump into this story. Dylan Locke is an early 40's British businessman who became jaded about love early in life when he married a woman several years his senior and was badly burned (cheating, lying, etc.). Now he shares a 13 year old son with the ex-wife from hell and has vowed never to get married or even fall in love again. Enter Audrey Lind, the younger sister of a woman who works in Dylan's sphere. He is riding in the back of a hired car in NYC when, after a 3rd party companion is dropped off, he finds himself alone with the alluring and bold young lady who is 19 years his junior.
To date, 23 year old Audrey has experienced a less than satisfactory sex life. Granted, she has only had the sexy times with 2 young men who were not very skilled, and they were only game for missionary. She knows there is a world where an O (and even multiple O's) can be achieved during sex... at least she has read that somewhere. But so far, no dice. When she realizes that she has an opportunity to propose a tutelage arrangement with a very experienced (and hot) older man, she takes her shot and puts some very clear moves on Dylan. While he is reluctant at first, she wears him down with some red hot chemistry and make out sessions that promise so many O's. While Audrey is worried that she may fall for Dylan, she knows he is not interested in a relationship beyond some pointers in the bedroom (or perhaps against a door). Also, Dylan lives an ocean away, and he is only in town for the Thanksgiving holiday to see his son, so they have limited time. But what will happen when Dylan can't get Audrey off his mind? Is it even plausible to consider a relationship with a woman closer in age to his son than to him? And while Audrey may still believe in love, Dylan definitely doesn't.... right?
What I liked: --- Dylan sounded yummy and was def the tall, dark, handsome, wish you could get through to jaded H --- The interactions between Dylan and his son were insightful and gave a better glimpse into his character than you would normally get from the noncommittal person he seems to be --- Steamy goodness!
What I didn't like as much: ---- I didn't really get much of a read on Audrey... Her character was a little bit this, but then a little bit opposite, so it was hard to pin her down - I didn't feel like I knew enough about her to get invested in her yet --- Mild daddy references (thankfully not during sex scenes) --- Dylan seemed --- This book is really more of a novella than the first book in a duet
Overall, I liked the idea of the story and am interested to see where it goes from here. I didn't realize this was a spin-off from the Filthy Dirty series, so I felt a little out of the loop on the other characters involved in the story. I would recommend reading that series before reading this book if possible.
Plot --- 3.5/5 Main Characters --- 3.5/5 Supporting Cast --- 3.5/5 Steam Level* --- 3.5/5 Violence --- none Language --- some POV --- Dual
*Note that steam level is not a rating so much as a how hot was it: 0/5 - clean; 1/5 - mild; 2/5 - sensual but nothing descriptive; 3/5 - now we're getting somewhere; 4/5 - yes please! ; 5/5 - they did EVERYTHING in this one, y'all
Please read the first books in this series/duets first if you haven't yet! They all basically happen at the same time!
We all remember Dylan from the previous books - he's the guys' London partner - a bit older and a bit more mature and quiet and the father of a 13 year old boy. And he's definitely not in the market for a young and sexy girl.
Which Audrey is. She's the sister of Donovan's Sabrina.
Dylan is mega attracted, but he could be her father!!!! But Audrey is not scared off easily - she wants Dylan! She wants him to teach her all there is to know about bedroom business!
Let the fun times begin!
What will happen with Audrey & Dylan? Will we get a Happy End?? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!☺ ok - we might not yet get that happy end - it's a duet - book #2 will be here soon!
═════════════════
Well, that was adorable and sexy and ... pretty short. I don't understand why these two short books had to be TWO books?!?! One book would've been enough! BUT, we don't have to wait too long for book #2!
I don't like huge age-gap romances. Eight years is kinda my limit. I have NO idea why this was the FOURTH age-gap romance I've read this year! THIS YEAR!!!! ... it's only february 3rd!!!! So very weird. And the Dylan-Audrey age gap is 19 years! Oy! That's really a lot. But I was kind of okay with it here. Dylan needs Audrey in his life. He's so serious and grumpy and he needs her for himself and to help him understand his son.
I liked reading this story. It was really adorable and fun and sexy - and we don't have a bad cliffy! Can't wait to see what book 2 will have in store for us!
SWEET LIAR was a sexy and adorable age-gap romance! Can't wait to see how their love story will end in SWEET FATE! Hurry to your nearest amazon - Dylan will be sold out in no time!
This was a very quick, easy read. I have no problems with the older man - younger woman trope but was a little off-put by the “Daddy”/“Professor” talk that came from the h. Just not my cup of tea. I did laugh out loud a couple of times, but from sheer OTT ridiculousness than hilarity.
This book wasn’t for me. I won’t be reading the next book in this series.
When I started reading this I completely forgot that this was the story about Dylan. Of course when I was reading about Donovan Kinkaid & Weston King in Dirty Filthy Men I also read a bit about Dylan Locke and we even briefly met Audrey Lind since she is Sabrina’s little sister.
Of course this book has the trade mark sexy stuff that Laurelin Paige is known for which always makes it a HOT and STEAMY read.
I will have to say that although the older man younger woman cliché is the main premise of the story it is also what really made this book so good!!!
I have already purchased Sweet Fate, which is the 2nd book. I unfortunately have to wait a few days before I can get to it which might possibly kill me.
Okay, I probably should tell you a few more things about this delicious morsel ... okay, well, I just did LOL
IT IS DELICIOUS!!
The build-up in this book is phenomenal. So great in fact, that you are left with a sense of wonderment. Will their spark be as fueled when they meet again (and meet again they will!)? Will they they meet again soon or will it be months or years and the slow burn that they began today will have to be recreated?
I mean I don't know about any of you guys, but I am waiting with extra panties in hand!
I never thought I would say this but move over Donovan & Sabrina, there's a new power-couple in town, Dylan *FUCKING swoon* Locke & Audrey *I KNOW WHAT I WANT AND I GET IT* Lind!! **swoooooon** #BringIt
I’m usually against a romance between a young woman and an older guy, but this book made me devour it in just a few hours. I didn’t feel the age difference as wrong as I should’ve. There is no doubt that it was a good book. 5 stars!
I liked this for the most parts, though I did have a "tiny" bit of issue with it, but not that big that it made it bad, just a word that is used that is not my cup of tea ;) Didn´t spoil the story for me though.
Amazing! It was my first time reading a book where a young female pursue older male, but it was just so well written and enchanting, that I found myself enjoying every second of it.
I totally recommend it to anyone who wishes to explore anything new or just want to add a new wonderful read to his/her collection.
Ugh, this was meh, short and ONLY PART ONE. I am not about one book being split into two and having to pay for both halves, it drives me crazy. And to be honest, this wasn't good enough for me to want to pay for the second half.
It was cheesy and the characters completely unrealistic. It was a story built around sex with zero plot, zero character development, and zero intrigue. Boring.
Oh this was naughty, good and not long enough. The book people, the book was too damn short. The beginning was a bit slow but it heated up real quick. I want these two to have a proper ever after, I really do. I guess I will jump into the next book and see where this goes?
For a quick read, this book had a wonderful amount of angst and sexual tension. Dylan and Audrey’s relationship was fun to watch unfold. With much of an age difference, these two were quite different and had varying views on the topic of romance/love.
For Dylan and his years of experience, love hasn’t been rainbows and unicorns. He’s quite jaded on that front and the little temptress that is Audrey isn’t going to sway him one bit. But there is no defense against a young, beautiful, confident and very bold sprite like Audrey. She gets under his skin much quicker than Dylan could have even predicted.
For Aubrey, she sees a hot, sexy older and very BRITISH man that could fill a void in her self discovery in sex. She’s young, yes, but not so innocent and she yearns to explore more of what sex can offer. Who could be better to teach her than a man much older, wiser and knowledgeable about all things pleasurable to women.
These two were quite a pair - Audrey had a fun time knocking Dylan off kilter with her advances and I just LOVED seeing him stammer and resist as much and as hard as he did. Her age was the biggest factor that not only deterred him in taking her up on her offer, but it was also the one thing that fueled his fantasies. He wouldn’t be a hot-blooded man if the idea didn’t turn him on. Am I right?
I can’t wait to find out what is in store for them next in the conclusion to their story!
5 SWEET LIAR STARS!! What a hot sexy read!! Audrey needs Dylan and boy is it hot and perfect. These two have a heck of a story to reveal to you and it is a good one. I can't wait for the second book, I need to know more.
I have a dilemma. I just don't know who to pick. I thought initially it was Donovan. Then along came Nate, and I do love a good party. But then Weston arrived and he usurped Donovan and Nate.
There is a new boy in town, or rather a new man - Dylan Locke. British beast of a man out to win the hearts of all of the ladies.
If age gap romances float your boat, then this will float your boat. He is actually old enough to be her dad and they do play the game but not in an icky yucky way but in a - you think I'm his daughter so I'm going to let you think that - kind of way.
The spark between Sabrina and Dylan was there to see, I can't remember which book had that dinner party in it but I guessed there was more to explore. Laurelin explores it alright and then blows the doors off.
I'm not a huge fan of the teach me how to be sexy kind of book, but there was enough content other than that in Sweet Liar to have me hooked, just like Dylan was. And now I need the next book please.
