As free books go, this was okay.

Coco was fine (awful name, lol). Magnus would have been better if he hadn't basically let us know that he'd slept around so much that he was able to take scenting that Nico was his kid while at a work conference in stride. That was hilarious and probably shouldn't have been.

I think the fact that Coco had no idea Magnus was Nico's dad and the fact that Magnus didn't know he had an adult son until a few months before the book began was supposed to cut down on the taboo.
That might have worked if jackass Nico hadn't graphically taunted Coco about their sex life. Yeah, that was unnecessary.

Coco is good for male shifters. Shortly after they start dating her, they find their fated mates. But, even though they break her heart, she keeps being sweet and nice to them. Like catering her latest boyfriend's wedding to his fated mate.

Third time's the charm though. Coco is determined not to date any more shifters. She just ends up hurt...Then a silver fox (though he's wolf) saunters into her bakery and her plan to keep her heart intact goes up the chimney.

This one was short, sweet, cute, hot and fun. A lovely palate cleanser, if you will, seasoned with Ellis Leigh's trademark humor, snark and charm.

I liked the three sisters running the bakery, their relationship and their differences, I liked the "customer service" fox shifter in all her protective, snarky glory and I adored Magnus, the wolf who thought there was no one for him, but finally met his mate.
Sure, he made a blunder of things, because he was being all manly and thought he knew better, but he made up for it in droves. As he should.

Sure, this was insta-romance, but the fated mate spiel took the edge off, so to speak. Besides, it was adorable. And fun. And hot. And sexy. And cute.

"Arm candy is a real thing"

This is a fun, quirky fast pace read. I love everything about it. Coco my name and don't you forget it. Me and my two sister's own and run an amazing bakery, Cakeily Ever After along with our favorite Fox Misty who manned the front. After going out many shifters I swore them off. Until this silver bitty walks in and my mouth drops. BAM! What can I say, he took my breath away. Now, he's only here to attend the wedding of my ex-boyfriend who is a total azzhat. And to think I am supplying the desserts for the wedding. So Magnus will be leaving g soon. What a bummer. Well heck, I will just have to have fun while it lasted because true to nature he will find his mate and then up in smoke out relationship. But Magnus might have other ideas. This book is totally worth my time and yours. Twist and turns, hot sex, and comical revelations. CANNOT wait until the next book. Ginger's story. And what can I as for those macaroons.

Fantastic story
3 sisters own and run the cake-ily ever after bakery in Kinship cove. 1 sister is wild that's Ginger, 1 is shy that one is Madeline and the sweet one that's Coco. This book is her story and her bad luck on dating sifters. Poor girl 3 times now she has fallen for one only to have him find his true mate while dating her and dumping her breaking her heart. The last one her bakery is making the cakes for his wedding.

Magnus came to Kinship cove for his son's wedding but walking into the bakery was the best thing that he had ever done. He found his mate.
Love the action, drama, crazy fun, and spice in this. The characters are great. The interaction of the characters are fantastic. I couldn't put it down and didn't want the story to end. It Realy was a fun read.

This little gem of a novella has a human baker, the sweetest young woman, incredibly talented in making sweet confections, especially macarons.
Coco, the sweet baker, has been burned by men before. Specifically - shifters. The last one just a couple of months prior to the story's timeline. And it's not even the shifters' fault - they met their fated mates. However, for Coco, being discarded three times in a row in the same way, is just too much.

Enters Magnus, a seasoned in life wolf shifter, who's drawn to a little bakery in a small town where he's to attend a wedding. Specifically, the wedding of Coco's most recent ex.

What begins like a nice flirt, and is quickly becoming something more like an incredible attraction, is evolving into the miscommunication that's really frustrating, yet very satisfying. I'm odd, I know.

I enjoyed this little story; loved the characters, loved the MCs personalities and the way it all came together.

3 Strikes You're Out????

Kinship Cove is a quaint little town full of all kinds of shifter and they live in harmony with the humans there. Just ask Coco and her 2 sisters, they've been there all their lives and Coco has had her bad share of relationships with shifter, so much that she has sworn them off for good no more dating a shifter every time their true mate comes along she is left baking her heart out, no more.... To top it all off hers is the only bakery in town and she is doing the wedding cake for her latest heartache, how pathetic is that? But when that hot hunk of a silver fox walks through the door, who knew older men could be so mouth watering? Another hot date couldn't hurt could it, even if he's the father of the groom?

I loved this story, so very hot and passionate, that old man has it going on!

A DELICIOUSLY PERFECT TRIFECTA OF SEXY, SWEET, & FUN!!!
Title: Candied Wolf: A Kinship Cove Fun & Flirty Romance
Series: Mates & Macarons (Released as Part of the Multi-Author Shifters In Love Fun & Flirty Romance Collection)
Designation: Book 1 of Series, Standalone Novella(Approximately 90 pages), NO Cliffhanger #paranormal #romance #smalltown #shifters #humor
My Rating: Five Deliciously Sexy Sweet Stars*****

Oh my! I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED CANDIED WOLF! And yes, I typed it in all caps because I'm screaming it from the rooftops. Candied Wolf is, hands down, one of the cutest, sweetest, and most adorable paranormal romances I've read this year! To anyone who has read any of my reviews in the past, it's no secret I'm a diehard Ellis Leigh fan and have been since she began her writing career almost five years ago with Claiming His Fate. Actually, Leigh is one of my top five all-time favorite paranormal, science fiction, suspense, and contemporary romance authors. And yes, you read that correctly - Leigh does write in all four genres and does it exceptionally well, proving her talent as a gifted storyteller and skilled wordsmith in every story she pens, which is why I purchase her books without even reading the blurb. For anyone unfamiliar with Leigh's work, she writes captivating paranormal and science fiction romance as Ellis Leigh, riveting romantic suspense as Kristin Harte, and naughty contemporary romance as one half of the London Hale writing duo. In the past, Leigh's writing in paranormal romance has been somewhat darker in tone, but I was so pleased to see her stretch her wings and soar into something more fun. Don't get me wrong, her other books do contain humor, but this new series is sweet, cute, lighthearted, fun, and heartwarming without all the grit and danger, although there's still a generous sprinkling of angst, just not the 'OMG, I'm gonna die' element, unless you consider dying of embarrassment a real possibility. Yeah, been there and done that! lol... But as usual I digress when talking about authors and books I love, so let's discuss this story.

Candied Wolf is a delightful, well-crafted, well-edited, fast-paced, easy to follow standalone novella with a beautifully written dual his and her first-person narrative. The storyline is upbeat with lots of cutesy, good-natured humor but does has its share of drama which, at times, is not only heartbreaking but also pretty darn hilarious. The dialogue is smart, snappy, and flows effortlessly. This story is very much a character-driven plot which brings me to my favorite component of every Leigh story - her always engaging and endearing cast of characters. I was instantly drawn into the story by the female protagonist, bubbly pastry chef Coco Chance. Coco was just a hoot and I loved her so much. I was immediately smitten with the sexy silver fox male protagonist, tall, dark, and handsome wolf shifter Magnus. OMG, he made me want to howl at the moon! Magnus may have used a little poor judgment, but he was still a smooth operator! Yes, I heard the soundtrack playing in my head while I was reading! There's nothing I love more than a sexy hero with a little grey and a few miles on his odometer. Magnus may have had a little snow on the mountain, but he still had plenty of fire in his furnace! Hubba! Hubba! lol... The chemistry between Coco and Magnus was blazing hot and they complimented each other perfectly, even if he was a little older -like 75 years. But remember, he's a wolf shifter so his age is like dog years. Just kidding! lol... So, did I like this book? No, I LOVED it! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am but only for adult readers since it does contain naughty language and explicit(dreamy) sex. Candied Wolf is the first of three planned releases in the Mates and Macarons Series with each book focusing on one of three human sisters who co-own the Cake-ily Ever After Bakery in Kinship Cove, a small close-knit town primarily populated with shifters. All the books are standalones with their own happy ending and could probably be read in any order. However, to avoid the possibility of spoilers, I highly recommend reading the books in order as they are published. Will I read this author again? You bet, just as soon as she releases her next book - which I'm ready for now! And finally, was I entertained? OMG, completely! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

For Coco Chance, life couldn't get much worse. Sure, she had a job that was her life-long dream as a pastry chef in her own bakery in the town where she grew up. And yes, she had two sisters who not only loved her but were also co-owners of Cake-ily Every After Bakery. She even owned her own cozy little house, but that's part of the problem. There was no one waiting for her when she got home, and it was not for lack of trying on her part. She'd probably dated every eligible man in Kinship Cove, both human and shifter alike, and all she had to show for it was a broken heart. Apparently, fate had a real grudge against her since her last three relationships had ended because the shifters had found their true mates. That was just plain cruel, but it taught her a very valuable lesson - never, ever date another shifter! And she was finally recovering from her latest heartbreak with a wolf shifter, even if he wouldn't stop texting her, and even if she and her sisters were hired to bake the cakes for his reception and wedding. Business was business, right? But she was determined to never make the same mistake again. Her resolve may have been strong, but her body was nothing but a traitor when a drop-dead sexy silver fox strolls into the bakery, giving her the eye. No, not a fox shifter, a handsome wolf shifter with a little silver in his hair, and he was panty-melting, toe-curling hot! Well, maybe she could make an exception and date him a few times. She just wouldn't fall in love with him. Easy Peasy, right? After all, he was only in town for a few days to attend a wedding. What harm could there be in a few friendly dates? A lot, actually, especially since his son was the groom... who also happened to be Coco's ex-boyfriend. Oh no! What's a girl to do? We'll see!

I don't know, this held my attention, I did finish it, but is was definitely a novella.
Being the novella, the background/world building was a bit skimpy. The heroine, CoCo, was alright, nothing special or memorable other than her name. But Magnus, well he was a jerk, he was everything I would run away from in a man. I didn't like him from the start. He did everything wrong with CoCo. Poor CoCo got the raw end of the deal for her story, between the digs her ex made at her to the mishandling of the whole mate thing, she couldn't catch a break. If I hadn't read book 2 first, I wouldn't have continued with the series based on this book. Not a book I would re-read either. After reading this, I won't continue with book 3 either.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked Coco and Magnus and liked seeing them get together. I will say that the father/son issue isn't as weird as it seems because Magnus didn't know about his son until a few months before the story begins and they're not close...

Coco is a pastry chef that co-owns a bakery with her 2 sisters. Coco has a good life in general but horrible luck with men. She's dated both humans and shifters but nothing ever works out and all the shifters found their mates while they were with her, including the latest that's getting married during this story.

Magnus is a wolf shifter that's been around for many, many years. Magnus wants to find his mate but has had no luck and after all these years, he wonders if he ever will. Magnus wasn't a saint and slept with at least one woman that he didn't keep in touch with because a few months before this story begins, he discovered a grown son he didn't know about (from a human mother).

Coco understand about mates and is happy for her Ex but doesn't mean she isn't hurting a little as well. Coco decides to swear off shifters for good...and then Magnus comes into the shop. There's an instant attraction on both sides and Magnus convinces Coco into a date that night. Coco doesn't realize he's a shifter until their date is already in full swing and by then, she likes him well enough to take a chance...even if she's sure it'll end in nothing good for her since she's probably not his mate and he's from out of town. But of course she is and Magnus doesn't tell her right away because he's afraid of scaring her off. Obviously, this causes some drama but it's dealt with pretty quickly and then Magnus and Coco are happily together and headed for a HEA.

This was a very enjoyable story. I liked Coco and could understand her trepidation about her relationship with Magnus considering her past experiences. Magnus was great and his only real mistake was being too cautious (and having a jerk for a son but since he didn't know about him, the way he was raised wasn't really Magnus' fault). Overall, I liked the characters and found the story to be very good and engaging so I would recommend it. :)

Reviewed at Shifter Haven

I had such a good time with Coco and Magnus’ romance. Coco has had the absolute worst luck with men, shifters in particular. She should take out an ad that says “Looking for your mate? Let me love you and she’ll pop right up!” Yeah, her previous boyfriends had met their fated mates while dating Coco and she’s done with shifters. Or so she thinks.

Magnus is in town for a wedding. His wolf lead him toward the bakery shop with its enticing scents… his mate’s included. He’s no longer a young shifter, he thought fate had passed him by but here she is beautiful and human. Being a newcomer to Kinship Cove Magnus didn’t realize that Coco had grown up around shifters and she knew how mates acted. Instead he held back thinking to ease her into his reality. Mistake number one. Toss in an absolute jerk of an ex-boyfriend and you have some drama. And some sizzling, smokin hotness as well. Coco and Magnus are right for each other, it simply shouts from the pages, but one mistake will take some serious work to overcome another’s actions.

Candied Wolf is a sexy, funny, engaging romance that any Shifter Romance reader would love. I’m now hooked on finding out what happens to the other sisters when their stories are published. If you love a good story, funny and loving couples and one jerk to loathe on sight then you need to add Candied Wolf to your reading list… like right now.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

With its particularly engaging characters and storyline, CANDIED WOLF entertains during every compelling scene. Sometimes a situation is amusing while others are very serious. There are also moments where passion takes over, and the romantic couple is definitely satisfied in the best way possible. I always thought any development came across as believable, which made the book delightfully enjoyable at all times.

The professional side of Coco Chance’s life is going very well, as the bakery owned with her two sisters is successful. However, when it comes to her dating habits, nothing ever seems to turn out positive. Since her town is filled with various shifters, she has even taken a chance on them yet the result is still the same. After another man catches her attention, Coco fears her time with Magnus will end like the previous ones and something disastrous will end their relationship.

Since humans in this story know all about shifters, Coco is well aware of their abilities and customs. When she meets Magnus, she feels the connection yet also remembers what can happen if the mate of a shifter finally appears. The imagination of Ellis Leigh has created an enthralling romance where emotional issues surface, and hearts are on the line. I truly loved Coco and Magnus, as their personalities are spirited while many lively discussions between them made me smile. Several secondary characters are very interesting, and I am thrilled they will be getting their own future books which I will be reading. Rating – 4.5 Stars

This was a cute, funny, and sexy little novella. I loved the characters, especially Coco's friend Misty. Coco, after having dated three shifters, falling for them, only to have them find their "fated mates," swore she was never, ever dating shifters again. I like that Coco had a bit of a sense of humor about it all. Maybe more of a smidgeon. Her heart did get broken, not once, but three times.😒💔 But then enters Magnus, an older man or shifter, if you will, and Coco was immediately drawn to him. There went the "I'm not dating shifters ever again" promise.😂 I wish she'd made him work a little harder, especially after her previous heartbreaking experiences with shifters. That 3rd date rule was ridiculous. Anyway, as it turns out, Magnus is not only older, but charismatic and sexy, wiser, and just amazing. However, his son Nico (yes, Coco's ex-shifter boyfriend) not so much. Granted, Coco didn't realize they were father and son, but the dude was a jerk. Even Nico's own mate barely tolerated him. I have no idea what Coco even found so charming about that one in the first place! But I'm glad Coco found Magnus, or Magnus found Coco. She certainly paid her dues and deserved to have her "happily ever after." Even though it was insta-love, Magnus and Coco were hot and sexy together. What can I say?! I love me some insta-love stories!😂😍❤💖💕

At the Cake-ily Ever After bakery in Kinship Cove Coco is one of the three sisters that run the bakery. She has just sworn off dating shifters because each time they have met their mate and left her with a broken heart (or at the least hurt feelings). The latest one was Nico and they are now making the baked goods for his wedding. So when a mature and handsome wolf shifter called Magnus comes into their shop she really shouldn't agree to go on a date with him - partially because he is in town for the biggest wedding this year and because the groom is her most recent ex. Like father, like son had never been so wrong...or so right.

This was a fairly quick read and was centred around Coco and how she met wolf shifter, Magnus. Nico was definitely a selfish idiot and that makes me wonder why she ever dated him - surely she would have been fussier and never go near him? Magnus was definitely a fool and really should have connected the dots that she lived in a town with many shifters and so would have understood mates and what it means. However, ignoring that it was a pleasant light read that made me want to eat one of their cakes or macarons! Contains just a tiny bit of sexual content at the end.

Coco Chance had given up on the shifter species for dating after not 1 or 2 but 3 of the shifters she had been having a relationship with found the fated mate whilst with her. To make matters worse her ex has been texting her and the most recent is an invite to his wedding.
Not only are herself and sisters the owners of Cake -ily Ever After with a Wiley fox shifter called Misty providing the desserts, grooms cake and wedding cake this now jumps out to bite her. Thinking the one person who could help her she calls in reinforcements of Ginger her sister who says she will be arriving any moment. So when the bell rings the last sentence Ginger had said comes out of Coco's mouth but straight to the ears of a drool worthy silver and grey hulk of a man who admits he is a father ( a must read just for this part).
When a date is arranged Coco tells herself she will harden her heart this time but she must find a way to be with this man even if the idea of being with another shifter scares her ....... it's her life to live.

Magnus.... Well for any information.on him your gonna have to read the book.on this sexy silver wolf 😉
Lets just say he loves yoga pants 🤣🤣🤣

Candies Wolf: A Kinship Cove Fun & Flirty Romance (Mates & Macarons #1) by Ellis Leigh
I purchased this book.
What a great introduction to the fun city of Kinship Cove!
Coco and her sisters run the popular bakery in town. Madeline the shy. Ginger the slutty. Coco the perfect mix. LOL
Coco’s past with men has not been good and her last boyfriend is now inviting her to his wedding. Tacky Nico Tacky. When a hot silver fox rolls into the bakery and sweeps Coco off her feet, watching the sparks fly was fun.
I would like to say what I loved about this book was the big twist we learn about Magnus and Coco’s combined history!!! Coco is devastated and Magnus is lost because Coco doesn’t know she is his MATE.
The story of the two of them finding their way back and a sneaky fox named Misty helping made the story a quick and sexy read for a cold, blustery day!!

Not dating another shifter

She has has real bad luck dating shifter, the last few found their fated mate while with her. Her last one txt her and invited her to the wedding. Her out spoken sister and employee said a few things not realizing she was talking to a very sexy customer. She goes out with him, she's his fated mated and takes it slow not know she was raised with shifters. They are having a wonderful time till her ex and his mate shows up and sees his dad with his ex. Saying awful things about her and sloppy seconds. She runs, he nearly hurt his son and trust to get in contact with her. A forgetful sister she had to get the groom's cake to rehearsal dinner. The ex is there saying more awful things she gets away. He talks to her employee and helps him to get to her and chews him out so not telling he she's his mate. He finally gets to her, they talk and gotten everything worked out.

In the town of kinship cove 3 sisters own and run the Cake-ily Ever After Bakery. The wild sister is Ginger, the shy one Madeleine, the sweet one is Coco.
This story is based on Coco and her bad luck dating shifter men. You see the last 3 that she fell for all found thier true mates while dating her. Leaving her broken hearted. The latest one thier baking the cake for his wedding. Poor girl.
Magnus came to Kinship cove for his son's wedding and really happy to find his mate at his age he thought he never would but how to tell a human she is his?
Love the action, drama, crazy fun, and spice in this! The characters are great . I love the interaction and couldn't put the book down. I didn't want the story to end. I hope the author makes a series out of this !

This is the start of a new series and it was a cute story!!

Coco just needs to finally catch a break in the dating scene!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

Coco is tired of dating shifters! Her past 3 boyfriends found their mates while still dating Coco..sure she understands the pull of the Fated Mate but it still emotionally crushing!!
Magnus has been waiting a century of his mate and now he's found her working at a bakery but she is human so Magnus is worried about how she'll understand the "mate" stuff.
Magnus thinks things are going well until his son/ Coco's ex starts making problems.....
Can Magnus repair the mess his son caused? Can Coco get past the pain?

A great fun little coffee time read, especially with all this yummy food being described.
For all that is lacking due to the shortness of this story, world building and a lack of communication, there is so much that redeems it, likeable characters, well written plot that draws you in.
Even though it has the annoyingly stupid plot of not being upfront about being mates, and we obviously have the obligatory misunderstandings happen but it worked well in this story.
I loved the little relationship twist.
Have to say I feel really sorry for Fiona, boy did she get a poor deal in the fate/mate department with Nico.
I will be reading the next book.
This is my honest review of this book.

Terrific, hilarious wolf shifter book

What would you do if you were a century old wolf shifter and find your mate who is human? Why you moved cautiously, of course.

The human has dated shifters before, before they found their faded mates. So she's assume that would happen this time.

The characters are sexy, hilarious, and relatable, that is if they were human characters. The plot she likes him, he likes her, and they have a misunderstanding because he doesn't tell her that she is his faded mate. It causes lots of misunderstanding.

If you want to read a hilarious and comical story, this is the one for you. Highly recommended.

4.5. Read as Part of an anthology. Sweet & hot human/shifter fated mates romance. Coco is a human in a largely shifter town, who owns a bakery with her 2 sisters. She's had the pain of dating 3 different shifters when they found their fated mates (spoiler: NOT her), so is swearing off shifters after this last jerk broke up with her over email, but hired their bakery for all the wedding-related desserts. The hot "silver fox" wolf shifter that comes into the bakery makes her rethink this vow. Fun side characters (hope the sisters each have books!), hot 🔥 scenes, stand-up guy made this a very enjoyable but quick read.

Coco owns a bakery with her two sisters Ginger and Madeline.
As the book starts, she's busy preparing macarons and other treats for the wedding - of her ex.
After months of dating her, shifter Nico dumps her by text after meeting his mate.
And now he has the gall to invite her to his wedding.
Thankfully her heartache is interrupted when a hot silver fox - who's actually a wolf - walks into the bakery, flirts and asks her out.
Everything about Magnus is great but Coco has been let down before and doesn't want to fall for him.
This is a short novella, funny, sweet, sexy and charming.
A lovely cosy paranormal with heat and angst

Wow! Did this one hit the mark I loved Coco and Magnus. And even sneaky fox Misty!! Coco had a little bit too much of life throwing a boomer-rang her way in the love department. Magnus was all that! I did appreciate getting a little more explanation to Magnus and his family before the end. Otherwise, I'm not sure that I could have liked Magnus as much.

Misty was perfect looking out for Coco and telling Magnus that he screwed up. While I know that we'll get to see the sisters have their stories, I hope we get to see Misty's too.

Coco and Magnus

I sat and started to read this short, sweet book last night until it was done. Couldn’t put it down! Poor Coco’s heart has been stomped on so many times she has all but given up on men, shifters especially, until silver fox Magnus walks into her bakery. But, despite the pull she feels towards him, there are a few things standing in their way, trusting her heart and an ex-boyfriend among them. Don’t want to give anything away so I’ll just stop here and say definitely one-click this book b/c you will not be disappointed!

Fun & flirty shifter/ human romance with a dash of sweet macarons. Coco gets her just deserts when meeting Magnus. Its not his fault, he has a pastry puff of a son who happens to be her ex. This was a yummy treat with a light flaky crust and a sweet creamy filling that makes me want to devour more. (Sorry couldn't resist all the puns ;)
This is my first Ellis Leigh story and now I can't wait for the next one!
