*Don’t read this blurb until you’ve read the first two books. Spoilers ahead!*
We were in the together. WE WERE IN THIS TOGETHER!
She visited my cell when everyone else saw me as property to be traded and bartered for the ‘greater good’ of the Mafia. I can’t get over her death. I won’t.
Someone once told me I was dangerous. Well, I'm here to be prove them right. I may be fragile and broken, but no one messes with the people I love. No one. I have certain talents, ones even I know I have. Even if I'm not sure how they got here.
I’ll use them. I’ll use every last one of them for justice. For HER.
Until the threat that I thought had been extinguished comes lurking back into my new life. Throw in a completely unexpected turn in Adam and I’s relationship, and this is what you get.
More of my life. Will I grow or will I sink? Because right now… I'm really not sure.
Trigger Warning: Sexual content and violence.
Author Note: This is the third book in a four-part series. This book does end on a cliffhanger, but all the books in the series are now live and free on Kindle Unlimited!
I totally loved the other books in this series but this one blew me away! It was by far my favorite. I feel like I am finally getting to the grit of the developing relationships! The other stories were full of action as well, but this story was everything! This story cannot be read as a standalone and must be read after Roses & Thorns: Women. I don’t want to get into it too much as my review would then contain too many spoilers.
Here is what I can tell you: I loved getting to see how each of the characters had grown, or were growing during this story. I loved the new developments and the heartbreak and recovery of past ones. The last story had some socking plot twists and in this book we see how the characters are dealing with that and how life moves on (if it does). The passion and emotions that this author adds to her stories is just amazing, I can feel every one of them and feel them right along with the characters. Ending in another cliffhanger, I will be waiting for the next installment. This has become an addiction! I received an ARC and am leaving and honest review.
Bry you are killing me. This book was perfect. You get to see how all the characters have changed in a year.
Boss and Lacey are still together and they even got a good news!!!! I have to say I am very proud of every effort Lacey is making. Baby steps. It isn’t easy for her, but she is surrounded by people who wants to help her. She is still captivated by her friends death. I was there with her, trying to understand. Boss hasn’t really change but he kind of got softer and understands better Lacey. He does everything he can to make her happy.
Sven is trying to cope with her love death, Rose. I feel so sorry for him, because even though he is the underboss, he was nice to her. You discover is story.
Ooooh and I love Cut, I hope we will get to know him better because he deserves it.
Still so many questions, especially with that ending, AGAIN !
This book picks up after Rose has been murdered. Lacey is training hard boxing and determined to get justice for Rose. Sven is not coping well, drinking heavily and seeing a therapist (bosses orders!) and the Boss is trying to keep everything together in business and personal life. He and Lacey are slowly building a life together. He promises her he will help her track down Rose's killer. Lacey meets with her estranged parents and her little brother Jamie as she is trying to get closure on that part of her life while the Boss is trying to track down the last of the Castello family. This book is full of twists and turns and I am not giving away any big plot spoilers!! I will just say the cliffhanger ending is jaw-dropping, hair pulling and down right shocking!!! 😱 But I absolutely loved it!!! ❤️
Well not as messed up as the first two until the end. I thought that was what was going to happen and when the others find out they are going to go CRAZY. Because everyone is taking that train.
Lacey is the most forgiving person I have ever read about, she is as close to perfect as Jesus I think. That is just so unrealistic.
Oh My!!!! I am so loving this series. I only wish that the books were closer together. I have already pre-ordered the next book, Roses & Thorns: Conquer. Talk about cliff hangers...
Lacey is a badass survivor. I love her strength and her powerful heart. When she lets someone in, they are there for life and she is fierce in her loyalty to those people. Even when she is mad at someone that she cares about, she doesn't quit caring. She may be angry, but she knows that they are in her circle for life. They will have to prove them self to her, but she will always care about them and be loyal to them. She has suffered so much in her young life, but in Roses & Thorns: Men, we see a completely different person emerge. She finds her strength and her power in this book and she grows even more. I love this character. She is perfect. Her scars inside and out have made her the powerful woman she is becoming and I only see her getting stronger and more fierce.
Boss is the same as he has been in the other books, but his soft side is emerging with watching Lacey come into her own in this book. We see his vulnerable side in this book and it only makes him more human. It is great to see that Lacey can make him such a humble man. Everyone has seen his fierce side in the previous books, but there is a whole new side of him in this book and I am liking him more now.
Sven, such a broken man. After Rose's death he pretty much disappears into a bottle. It takes a while for him to find his way out, and that is only after Boss orders him to get help. We see a more mature and softer side to Sven in this book too. I love Sven, his cockiness, confidence, and brashness take a bit of a side trek in this book, but it will reappear towards the end of it.
I can't wait for the next book to come out. This is a great series and I highly recommend it for readers who like dark love stories, and mafia men! I was crushed at the end of Roses & Thorns: Women, I am more hopeful now that I have read Roses & Thorns: Men.
Thank you Bry Ann for writing such great characters. I will say that this book had me in tears often and I was laughing at some of the lines as well. These characters are great together and I would love to read more about Cut as well. I enthusiastically give this story a 5 star review. It just keeps getting better with each book!
Each book in this series has left me breathless and wanting more and this book delivered! The roller coaster of emotions this book had me on is crazy in such a good way! This whole series demands to be read!
#BookReview #RosesAndThorns Series by @authorbryann
Just finished Book 4 so this review is quite raw.
Rose. Sheltered , naive, hiding from her past, barely living in the present. Sven. Underboss, complex, also hiding from his past, determined to take control. Rose meets Sven, a patient where she works and he immediately gets under her skin. Sven takes what he wants and he wants Rose. You'd think this story was about Rose and Sven. But before you know it, Lacey and Boss swoop in and steal this story out from under them. A Mafia boss, his Underboss and 2 women who have fallen into the Mafia world...what could go wrong?
Honestly, this story started as Rose and Sven's story. But it quickly shifted to Boss and Lacey's story. They were by far the stronger characters. They had depth, emotion, character. I've gotta say though, that every character went through growth and change, except IMO Rose. Other characters grew themselves but also through their relationships with others.
Great series! Unique! *Most* characters were great. Wasn't like anything I'd read before. There were a few holes to the story or like seeds planted that nothing ever eventuated...so that's confusing. But could be that these get addressed in other books about different characters from this universe.
Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5 🔥🔥/5 💦💦 /5 🥃🥃🍷🍻- one during and one after you've finished!

❤️🌼🔥ROSES TO THE GOOD STUFF AND THORNS TO THE BAD❤️🌼🔥 The ROSES & THORNS Series is one of my new favorites....It’s a dark story....And none of these couples have had easy lives, but Adam, Lacey, Sven and Rose have fought and scratched their way through life....and have maybe found love....❤️🌼🔥 Mob Underboss, Sven, meets Rose, a workaholic, mental hospital tech, when he manipulates the court system into accepting his plea of insanity, so, instead of prison, he can be placed in the mental facility where Rose practically lives....And once Sven, sees her, neither of their lives will ever be the same.......❤️🌼🔥 The relationship between Mob Boss, Adam and his prisoner, Lacey is the most interesting to me....Lacey’s life has been horrendous, and Adam has had a part in making her life so bad, but Lacey is a bada$$, and love blooms in weird situations, sometimes.....❤️🌼🔥 There are so many twists and turns in this series...This is a different type of love story, but it’s one worth reading....I Read This Book in the Boxed Set.....❤️🌼🔥
Bry Ann has an amazing talent of bringing to life highly emotive issues with such beautiful compassion. Through her words I feel like I'm in the heads of these broken characters and can understand their reasoning for doing what they do. Sven's letters are so touching and sad. I am absolutely loving this series and am going straight onto book 4.
Lacey really really annoyed me in this book either you trust your husband to keep his work or you don’t clearly she didn’t. You can trust he’ll keep his word with you and not your friends like wth. I hope she’s not as annoying in the next book 👀
