“Beautiful, real, and devastating…this book will forever have a spot on my all-time favorites shelf.” —Sarah J. Maas, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Throne of Glass
Revisit two heartbreakingly powerful novels from #1 New York Times Bestselling author, Jennifer L. Armentrout.
THE PROBLEM WITH FOREVER
For some people, silence is a weapon. For Mallory “Mouse” Dodge, it’s a shield. Growing up, she learned that the best way to survive was to say nothing. And even though it’s been four years since her nightmare ended, she’s beginning to worry that the fear that holds her back will last a lifetime.
Now, after years of homeschooling with loving adoptive parents, Mallory must face a new milestone—spending her senior year at a public high school.
It doesn’t take long for Mallory to realize that the connection she shared with Rider Stark, her long-lost childhood friend, never really faded. Yet the deeper their bond grows, the more it becomes apparent that she’s not the only one grappling with lingering scars from the past.
IF THERE’S NO TOMORROW
Lena Wise is always looking forward to tomorrow, especially at the start of her senior year. She’s ready to pack in as much friend time as possible, to finish college applications and to maybe let her childhood best friend Sebastian know how she really feels about him. For Lena, the upcoming year is going to be epic—one of opportunities and chances.
Until one choice, one moment, destroys everything.

4.0 -- I was completely surprised by these two books from Jennifer Armentrout. Having read many of her fantasy fiction works, I know that she is totally capable of writing characters with depth and complexity. But, because I mostly read the sci-fi/fantasy stuff, I wasn't expecting two books on such serious topics as abuse in foster care and teen drinking and driving -- and learning to love yourself as well as allowing someone else to love you in the aftermath of these tragic events. They, of course, contain the classic romance that JLA is known for, while also dealing with some very serious topics. I'm tempted to pass these on to my teen daughters. (How do I feel about them reading the not-that-graphic stuff, though and knowing I handed that to them???)
If you like JLA's other works, you will definitely enjoy these.
If there’s no tomorrow is a book for all. Towards the very end the inner monologue got a bit tedious, but the story holds many powerful messages and will pull your heartstrings.
This is Lenas story, as she comes to grips with the consequences of her decisions, learns to keep living and to not assume what others think.
