The Cocktail Girls #5

His Irish Coffee

Rate this book

In the bright lights of sin city, a rugged cowboy finds his innocent angel.

The brown-eyed beauty drops her panties in my lap, a clumsy but oh-so-sweet attempt to tease me. As if I need encouragement. Her perfect curves, lush lips and rounded hips stir every primitive instinct.

Lila acts like she knows just how to show me a good time, but I know she’s innocent. Her fragile smile tells me she’s untouched. I can tell she’s trying to start a game with me. She has no idea… she’s trying to play the ultimate player.

I’m not a Las Vegas boy. Hell, I’m not even from America.

I’m an Irish cowboy through and through. I live a quiet life on the Emerald Isle, raising thoroughbred horses. I’m in Vegas for a bachelor party, not to debauch a virgin.

And yet, one look at Lila and that’s just what I intend to do. Taste her. Claim her. And when I’m done marking my tight, hot little prize, I’ll take my sweet innocent girl home with me and keep her by my side, because…

Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas...

This was very short and not much to the story. Perfect for a lunch break or a quick bedtime read.

- no cheating
- no ow/om drama
- no pushing away
- instalust
- disappointing epilogue that was only 6 WEEKS out. You have no idea what becomes of the couple.

DNF at 40% I am tapping out on this one.
Have never read a thing by this author before but this book is not for me.
I didn't mind that the heroine was a virgin but who wants to have sex for the first time in an alley outside your place of work. Fortunately they are stopped by a cop with a flashlight.
It gets even better, they make it to her appt after that and they have sex with her facing a wall, sans condom. I just had to quit!!!!
I loved the first book that I read in this series by Jamie Schlosser so much , I had high hope's for the rest of them. This is my third one and I won't be reading anymore unless I see stellar reviews from goodreads friends.👎👎👎👎👎

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

If you are in the mood for short steamy contemporary romance then this is so the book for you. An Irish cowboy visits Vegas for his friends bachelor party only to find himself entranced by a cocktail waitress at he bar they are partying in. She is equally attracted to him and that is when the sparks fly as they hook up very quickly in surprising ways only to find they cannot leave the other. Very sweet ending to say the least. Great for fans of the genre. i really enjoyed it so I give it 4/5 stars.

It was very good, the only thing that I don't like is that, yes they are together at the end, but they are not engaged or anything, and the epilogue is only 6 weeks out. Still a good story though. Quick and to the point.

Too much too fast.

The characters weren't developed enough to believe their actions. Especially Lila. From working to help save her mother to leaving her job in the middle of her shift with no warning. From virgin to anal in 1 night. It wasn't believable and there was no character development to understand how she felt or why she did what she did. Same with Declan.
I wouldn't recommend this book at all. Sorry.

Ok

This was an ok Insta love story. This is the very quick story of Declan and Lila. I wish we got a little more detail in this book, it was a little too quick for me. I also thought that the main love scene was a bit much for a virgin. With what they did she would be walking funny for at least a week, lol!

I’ve not read any of Jessica Lake’s other books, but I am working my way through the Flirt Club’s Cocktail Girls collaboration, and Jessica contributed to this.
I’m afraid this wasn’t one of my favourites in the series. There wasn’t anything majorly wrong with it; it was just a bit boring.
The whole purpose of the book is to get Lila and Declan together so they can scratch some itches. Their attraction was purely physical, and when they did try to interact and converse, it was very awkward with pregnant pauses and stumbling over their words. It was very uncomfortable to read.
The first chapter really offered promise, there seemed to be some intrigue as to why Lila needed the money, and the ellipsis at the end made it seem like she had a plan to get the cash from Declan. However, the first chapter was very misleading, and the main storyline fell a bit flat.
Overall, a disappointing read but it’s one more ticked off the collaboration’s list!

His Irish Coffee is a stand alone romance set within the Cocktail Girls universe. Lila is working in a high end club, saving all of her tips and money to go towards her mother’s medical bills. Declan is in America with his best friends, celebrating a bachelor party, when he sees Lila. The attraction between them is instant and intense, but the next day, was it just one night or could they find so much more?

This book was short, but a fun and passionate escape into the romance world! Lila is seen as just a beautiful woman, but there’s so much more to her that Declan gets the honor to see. I loved that he felt that instant draw to her and was open to the idea that it’s more than just lust between them. They both have hearts of gold. There was definitely some kindle melting scenes between Lila and Declan and the ending was super sweet and romantic. This is the perfect book if you’re looking for a foreign cowboy to sweep you off of your feet with insta-lust and insta-love!

His Irish coffee is part of the cocktail girls novella series. This book is also the first book of Jessica Lake’s that I have read. I found her writing style easy to follow, her characters likeable and the storyline sweet.
This story is short, fast paced and sweet. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I liked that Declan went after what he wanted. He wanted Lila.
I liked Lila. I liked that she worked hard in order to help her sick mother. She was attracted to Declan and despite being shy; she made her move on him. She decided to take a risk and be a little bold.
The chemistry between Lila and Declan is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. Declan soon became Lila’s knight in shining armour. He didn’t even bat an eyelid about helping Lila out with the bills.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and a sweet read.

I read to relax and for that reason I sometimes like to read novella's like this one. Short, sweet, sexy, funny and with an HEA

Irish Coffee isn't nearly as sweet as a Virgin Daiquiri.

Declan came over from Ireland to be in Sin City for his friend's bachelor party. When they end up at the Little Black Dress he spots beautiful Lila. Lila is trying to earn as much money as she can to help pay for her grandmother's medical bills. When she sees Declan she is instantly attracted to him. She decides to tempt him by dropping her underwear in his lap with a note saying she's a virgin and a time and place to meet her. Get this book today and find out what happens when an Irish cowboy goes after a beautiful virgin cocktail waitress.

I really wanted to love this book. It started out great and it was sexy as hell but....I couldn't figure out Lila and I couldn't understand her attitude towards that almost ONS with Declan (which actually does turn out to be more than a ONS). Was she really a very shy and insecure person?? We're told that she's used to being told she's beautiful and receiving attention from men but do we just assume she's had no interest in any man she had meet so far or did something bad happen?? or was she stressed out with the worry of a sick mother and decide wth I'm having at least one night for myself?? Also not used to HFN epilogues :/

I received this book as part of an ARC review. It is an alternating point of view story but the first chapter is a bit weak as an opener. Lila after meeting Declan while she's working makes a bold move which is well received. Their relationship moves quickly despite her being a virgin. She is a virgin determined to get rid of all of her v-card as soon as possible. Declan takes care of all her financial woes and takes her to Ireland. I was a bit disappointed with the ending as it was still up in the air how their relationship was going.

Jessica Lake is a new-to-me author & I’m so glad I took a chance on her! Such a sexy, hot short about Declan and Lila. Declan is is Las Vegas with his friends and is served in an upscale lounge by Lila. They absolutely sizzle together, and Lila may be inexperienced but Declan draws out her primal side. It's a quick, well-written, and satisfying read.

I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.

Lila is a cocktail waitress at the Little Black Dress. One night while working she meets Declan, an Irish cowboy visiting Vegas for a bachelor party. Even though she is a virgin, Declan brings outa strong passion in her. Will their encounter just be two ships passing in the night or can something lasting come from it?

A quick and sweet read. I just cannot get enough of this series of Cocktail Girls. This was once again a must read. It is an easy and quick read but it is captivating and enjoyable. The characters are really likeable and it is written in such a way that you feel you are in the story with them.
To now he/she is the one but can you take a chance and go for it? Fun, passionate and emotional story.
Absolutely a must read.

A very short sexy read but I felt like it was missing something. The beginning, it was hard to make sense of because it was kind of choppy writing. Declan is a sweet Irishman and I loved what he does for Lila at the end but you're left not knowing what becomes of the couple. It felt too rushed even for a novella. The love scene in my opinion was a bit too much for a virgin but who am I to judge on that. It was enjoyable but I was left needing more.

His Irish Coffee

Holy hotness!! Lila & Declan are as hot as the Vegas desert but more than that. You can feel their connection through the words. This story made me smile, made my heart ache, made my face flush & made me swoon.

The Cocktail Girls novellas are quick reads yet a complete story with an HEA. I like that I can read them in one quick sitting, still get the romantic flutters and still be a functioning member of society.

No! Nope! Nadal!

I'm sorry, but this very quick short Novella was more about the exponential sexual escapade between a young virgin working at LBD and an Irish cowboy in Sin City for a bachelor party, all within hours of meeting each other. There was barely any development between or about the main characters.
Everything about this story was to fast and unbelievable.
Sadly, not something I would recommend at all.

The third book in the series, and it was a really quick read. I liked Lila a lot and Declan's accent is so hot. I liked the story but I don't know if it was my favorite. The drink wasn't mentioned until the end of the book. The epilogue, I thought, could have been done differently. But if you're looking for a quick, hot read, this book will definitely do

A fast, cute and sexy story. A bachelor trip to Las Vegas for Declan became more when he sees Lila and it was instant attraction. What happens next in Vegas becomes a whirlwind of hotness for these two which made for an enjoyable and entertaining read.

Iffy

I'm not sure about this book. It felt kind of rushed to me. Like the author just wanted to get it over with. I understand that they r novellas but this one so far has been my least favorite like I said it felt so rushed and not even a story like the others it was just boom have sex and move to Ireland with this dude. That was it.

This is a quick and dirty read.

Lila and Declan meet at LBD and both are instantly attracted to each other. Declan is there for a bachelor party with plans to return home.

I liked that Lila took a chance and put herself out there but I felt like she went from 0 to 60 in the bedroom a little fast but that's just me.
