This book is a must read for anyone learning Lean and Kanban. First of all, the story is truly inspiring, showing how a hospital can be saved from bankruptcy. Secondly, it presents not only the results, but how to get there, with ups and downs. The entire book is a case study of how to achieve true business agility, full of practical examples. Marcus shows how a principle based approach can change an organization for the better.

Being allowed to view inside other teams and see their successes and failures is priceless. By understanding how others have navigated their own complex problems, you can build your knowledge more concretely than you will from pure methodological explanations. I hope this inspires others to share their stories.

This is a true story of transformation in an Indonesian hospital using Agile and Lean principles and practices. What struck me is that how simple practices could create bigger impact leading to an amazing and inspiring story. This without uttering the word agile, lean, transformation during the whole journey.
For me one of the biggest takes away has been that, to create a lasting and sustainable impact, take a systemic approach to dig deeper and understand the real challenges which gives a better chance to solve the problem.
Key message is trust the process, trust the people and be the enabler to show the way forward and that will unlock the potential of the entire workforce.

A must read for all agile coaches, change agent and leaders.

A humble account of an amazing feat!

This is a real page turner of a book, describing an amazing journey to turn a failing hospital into a prospering workplace by coaching and inspiring the management team and work force using Lean and Agile methodologies.
I already knew Marcus to be a very good coach but this book where he takes his knowledge from the IT sector in Stockholm and boldly applies it to a hospital in Indonesia makes for a very inspiring read.
I warmly recommend it to anyone who wants a glimpse of what people can achieve with the right guidance and encouragement!
