Every tribal land has its own tribulations and the Kasis were way beyond any hope or help, for what they were undergoing was terrifyingly unspeakable. It wasnt any myth or taboo. This one was true. The One God was as real as the White Giants. But, all the suffering and trepidation came from the impossibly aggressive Grey Giants. They were a deformity: a fallen imprecation on the Kasis. Somehow, a sensible Bhirendi, the elderly last of the Kasis, addresses the tragedy and rushes his people into the underground chambers of Ravaial before they are forced to face the wrath of the monstrosities that lately have begun to roll down from the White Mountain. With the situation only getting worse by the moment, the tribes hire a pack of ace hunters from the West. But, one of them freaks out and abducts the daughter of an estranged but once-upon-a-time famous hunter to only earn his ire. The hunters are drawn together into a strangely unwelcome land of doom with their fates sealed under the White Mountain. They soon realise that time is all they have left in the entire world when the Grey Giants begin their vicious play. SUM brings to you, The Alpha Yeti!
I was not confident when I selected "Alpha Yeti" by Sum. As the author has used a pen name and I was not able to get any information about him/her. But I had faith in the selection of WritersMelon. And then SciFi Keeda gave me encouragement to go for the book.
In mountain range of Nirmalaya, four Mountaineers made the blunder by not just trespassing but harassing tribe of Yeti. The mischief of four didn't just cost their life but people of Nirmalaya as well. In Nirmalaya, there were many folklores about white monsters, but events, after disaster made them, realized that something sinister had awakened. They contacted a group of elite hunters to kill this monster. Would these professionals be able to tackle it? Read more to know about the story.
Alpha Yeti is a perfect combo of Horror, Action, Adventure & Thriller. Especially I was not expecting the horror part, which surprised me multiple times. I remembered reading it in the night when one or two such scenes came and I got scared for a moment. Coming to writing style, it was a straight narration style and simple language usage. I agree many characters were added in this short book which could have been avoided. The best part was the way scenes were portrayed which makes reader visualize them. The author had promptly used controversy theories around Yeti.
Overall a nice light read. I feel that Indian audience needs such light multiple genre books. It could be a good companion on trips.
Set in the lap of mighty Nirmalaya mountains, The Alpha Yeti is a chilling and thrilling tale of the battle between humans and the yetis. The folklore says that there are white giants occupying the remote areas of mountain ranges. There is this One God too. The plot lingers around the monstrous Grey Yeti frightening the local denizens who are too scared to avenge their misery. Then the popular hunters come into the picture and the complete story takes an unbelievable turn. The book clearly points out toward the unnecessary human intervention causing the ruckus in the peace of nature.
The Alpha Yetis was a new concept I learned in the book. They are the ones who do not tire until they achieve what they want. Their built and devilishness has been described very well. I liked the vibe that has been created in the book as the fight begins. It was just right and perfect. The book is a little plain in the plotline which is about some scary giant frightening the locals. But the adventure and action pulled off the show.
The narration though, in the beginning, seems disoriented and scattered became intriguing as the story proceeded. A proportionate amount of action and its narration catches you off guard and you are actually stuck to your seat. It is wonderful how the yetis fight amongst each other. It is exciting to read through the exhilarating face-off between the grey yeti and the humans. It is amazing to behold the sight of four friends standing neck to neck and battling the giant with courage and ferocity. It is equally lovely to see the strength and bravery of a young girl.
Overall, I liked the book very much. The narrative is really good. The language and the flow of thoughts were fantastic. However, I feel the book still needs a round of editing and some work on its cover as well.
Alpha Yeti surprises you at many places and even scares you. My year started with reading this as the first book and I would say I had a disparate thriller experience.
The terrain , the characters, the backdrop settings were unusual for a reader which made the story quiet intriguing.
The white yetis lives happily at the top of Nirmalaya. The tribals who have their homes at the bottom of the mountain spend their times with the nature and peace. Tribals and white yetis have a mutual understanding by heart of not crossing each other regions.Challenged by a grey yeti who doesn’t like both tribals as well as white yeti. The tribals are pushed to a situation to seek help from outsiders, the hunters from west. Who is this grey yeti? will the hunters be able to bring down the grey one?
The three parallel peoples(stories) were perfectly linked to one another which turned out to be the best as one at the end.But to be honest the first few chapters didn’t indulge me and it turned out be boring. When I was about to give up , the best twist happened and from that the story picked up its pace.
The techniques followed by the hunters was enthralling and thrilling. Sometimes we need to understand and reason behind few folk tales. They always have a hidden message for the future generations. Author brilliantly sustained adventure and suspense in the second half that I finished it in one go. That part narration was captivating .
Overall ” The Alpha Yeti” is an unanimous adventure taken by the skilled hunters to bring down the mighty yeti where the readers are compelled to travel along by throwing unexpected twists and surprises on the way.
Alpha yeti is an amazing book because it is something which makes you feel reading different from romances, murder mystery thrillers. The story starts with a village kasis which is in threat of a monster yeti and that of a dangerous Alpha yeti, villagers decide to fight against the yeti and remove the threat forever and the story showcases how kasis fight the threat of Alpha yeti. Will they be able to fight and overcome the fear in which they are living for years? Read this amazing story to find it out.
To start with the idea of writing a story about humans surviving against yeti's is terrific so the plot overall is nice, the initial phase is bit confusing but gets settled after few pages.
The idea of yeti(or monsters) may not be much unique in movies but to bring it a novel it requires imagination with a proper narration which is present in this book.
Author have used various locations for the story from jungles, mountains and rivers and description of each of them is amazing. Characters are equally good especially of Bhirendi who is the elderly last of the Kasis.
Language isn't that free flowing but good enough to understand and writing style is bit confusing at times. The cover here isn't a more glorious one but it still describes what we can explore inside.
Overall the story is full of action and I loved the shifting of locations from author at ease. The book should surely be read by fantasy and adventure readers.
Name- The Alpha Yeti Written & Published By- Sum Pages- 213 Review- The call of Mountains comes with several tales and folklores. One of the most famous folklore among them are of the Yetis. Yetis are believed to be snow monsters who reside in the Himalayas. Although most people believe Yetis to be a folklore, there are several people mostly the natives of the Himalayas who believe Yetis to be real. The Alpha yeti chases the story of yetis following several folklores and mixing them with imagination. The story opens up in a mysterious manner where an expert mountaineer Peck, is killed by an yeti while he was climbing The Nirmalaya mountain. As the story progresses the author picks up a fast pace which felt rushed at times. I would have preferred if the author maintained a moderate pace throughout. Writing a story completely based on folklore where the real facts are not available is a really tough job. While it's folklore for us its a matter of sentiment to the natives who spent their childhood fearing the yetis and worshipping the mountains as Gods and Goddesses. The story moves on and explores the incident which was faced by the Kasi tribes and who are forced to go upon a hunting expedition for the grey yetis which are vengeful towards humans. The white yetis are the peaceful ones who maintain a harmonious relationship with the humans. As the story progresses we the readers are forced to delve further into the mysteries of the Nirmalaya Mountain and the life of the two groups of the Yetis. Overall the book was a quick and satisfying read and the author did a decent job in putting the pieces together and spinning a good tale.
The book builds on the myths and lores of Yeti or Bigfoots.. the story is set in Karya Kunj, a small village located at the foot of Nirmalaya mountain range.. it is a beautiful place with a motley crue of people who have been told by their ancestors about the wrath of these beasts and the fact that the wrath will be unleashed once again..
The book has some good twists shocking moments and even some spine-chilling ones.. but it was too slow in the initial chapters.. It describes the lives of the tribals, how they come together to save their land, their celebrations and hopelessness.. the emotions are well written.
There are lots of action sequences but they often got very confusing.. there were so many people fighting and it was not clear what exactly was going on at times. some scenes also felt like they were dragging.
It is good that the author has used such an under-exploited mythical character to build a story. The quality of language used in the book is good.. but it could have definitely done with some tighter editing. It took me quite a few sittings to finish this book which may improve with the better editing.
~~ I was given a copy of the book to read and review. All opinions are honest and my own.~~
The Alpha Yeti is an outright adventurous novel depicting the struggle of humans against the monstrous and powerful the Grey Yeti. These Yetis, both white and grey, lives in snow capped mountains of Nirmalaya. It was always freezing out there, especially in winters.
Now four mountaineers create havoc in the adobe of the Grey Yeti. This enraged the Grey Yeti and it goes berserk to take revenge and was adamant to destroy the entire village Karya Kunj set at the foot of the mountain. Tribes living in the village give a fight back with whatever primitive weapons available, but the Grey Yeti seemed to be unstoppable and tearing apart on encountering any human being. The villagers seeks the help of four eminent hunters to get rid of the Grey Yeti.
It has been an interesting read. The entire episode of combat between tribal soldiers and The grey Yeti reads like brave Rajput soldiers fighting battle with Mughals. Similarly engrossing was the hunters and The Yeti scrimmage. The fight scenes, in fact, the entire story actually turned out well. In spite of being predictable, the set up was remarkable and I was curious to see the events taking place through the characters eyes.
But Yetis were the star attraction. They were the surprise package and it was always interesting to see how they would react.
There are very common tales of big foots and yetis residing in icy mountains. This story is of mountain range Nirmalaya. Story starts with introduction of certain people like, There was a traveller, mountain climber, named Peck, he was not not ordinary traveller, he scaled Himalaya eight times. Very first chapter is his about his encounter with Yeti. The villagers or we can say tribes have often encounters with them but when they see situation worsening up, they hire pack of ace hunters. Read the book to enjoy complete story.
Book has very unique plot. And wonderful writing style. All the time I felt like watching a movie. Very nice use of language and vocabulary. Page turner and holds your attention till the end. Nicely written actions scenes and suspense. After a long, I read such a amazing and different book. And above all, I enjoyed reading about mountains, travellers, tribes and how people live over there, that was something new and different reading experience for me. Overall must read !
I like the concept of story. The fight between men and yetis. Story is interesting but prolonged at some places. This might divert the attention of reader. Although the concept is different. I like the character of Sanau. A daughter of Jai who played a main role amongst them. Wurli who is the member of tribe, those people caught in plight because of huge yetis. How Jai and sanau helped them to rescued from the clutches of yetis? What are the secrets of yeti? To know more about the mysterious journey of Alpha yeti, read the book and my blog. Whereas I don't like the cover of book. Writer prolonged the story in some places. Beside this i'd like to share my favourite lines from the book. '‘things aren’t meant to be the way they are and if things are done the way they aren’t to be, then they are already done now and we did greatly to cope with it" - Jai
Yeti is a term that we have all heard associated with Everest. It has not been confirmed if it is real or not. Nonetheless we all believe that in some isolated peaks of Himalayas, there indeed is a creature that eats human beings.
The Kasi tribe is facing an unprecedented threat to the whole tribe. It the white giant is let unchallenged, it will take the whole White Mountain and the tribe will end up being unidentified in the history of manhood. Bhirendi, an elderly Kasi tries to find out the solution to this precarious situation. Further the readers get to see a cliffhanger.
Style of narration is the USP of the book. The author has knitted the incidents with the embellishments of literature. The characters are momentous but in terms of variations and development they fall short. The level of intrigue has been sustained throughout. The cover image is what grabs the attention. The picture of Yeti is imagined and copied on paper such that it forces the readers to grab the book more so if they are fantasy lovers.
The Alpha Yeti is a action packed book about mythical beats called Yetis. The plot revolves around the Kasis tribe who take the help of a famous hunter to free them from the clutches of the Alpha Yeti. Overall a good book, which could have been better with tighter editing. I am looking forward to reading more work from this author. All those interested in the action, thriller, mythological genre can give this one a try.
If we discuss about the Cover of this book , this is extraordinary itself completely related to the storyline. Yama is portrayed in such a creative way using black and red ink. Title is little complicated and interesting.

Story revolves around a small village located at the foot of Nirmalaya mountain range. Plot of this story is full of actions , thrills and adventures. Yeti is a large creature like a bear or a man covered with hair, that some people believe lives in the Himalayan region. Icy snow capped range of Niramalaya mountains is the base of plot. Story is beautifully written in a realistic theme , full of fantasies and twists. All the characters are amazingly drawn. All the haunting scenes are interesting and skilfully portrayed and relatable. A stereotype may be negative or positive, but even positive stereotypes present two problems: They are cliches, and they present a human being as far more simple and uniform than any human being actually is.
A perfect confluence of mystery , thrills , adventures and actions. Language is lucid. Some mistakes cam be improvised by editing. And page quality should also be improve.
The story takes place at Karya Kunj a small village located at the foot of Nirmalaya mountain range. All was going well when the old legends started coming true and the locals were terrorised by the rising fear of the White Giants who till now were residing on the piercing and biting ice mountain i.e. Nirmalaya. People were terrorised as they had heard about these White Giants only in the fairy tales but when they heard some noise during an immediate union one night they all decide to take a quick solution to all their queries which were there at the back of their mind and save the people and their village from the unknown danger that lays ahead and they even start praising the One God which they have heard in the fairy tale too. There are four mountaineers who are set on the journey and they were least expecting to encounter the White Giant, when all of a sudden the Giant comes out of nowhere which creates a great havoc in the abode of the Giant which makes the situation more revengeful and the Giant is adamant to tear apart any human it comes across. Soon the villagers hire a gang of eminent hunters to kill the Giant and restore the peace that was once there in the village. Who is the White Giant? Is the White Giant the only terror or this there somebody else at play too? How will the villagers manage to restore the lost peace and as the fairy tale turned out to be true and the White Giants came to be alive is it true that there is The One God? How will the villagers manage to win over the situation and get The One God to their side? To know more read ‘The Alpha Yeti’.
My Views:
The settings of the book are realistic and we get to see the characters views and the problems they face while fighting the Giant. The struggle and the plight of the villagers how they are neglected by the Government is a real life situation as there are many villages which are still unknown or people have not heard of and the problems they face have no solutions as they not equipped with modern day facilities like medical facilities, educational facilities due to which the situation gets worse and same is the situation with our Karya Kunj. The author has done an excellent job of portraying the plights and the struggle that the villagers are facing with very less or no resources.
The book was a little confusing at places as there were too many characters and there were too many things going at the same time such as the village was very small but then they build a fortress and there are hundreds of soldiers fighting the Giants which makes me question as to where they managed to arrange so much of man power and other resources?
The plot of the book is exciting and will keep the reader on edge and the readers would want to know what happens next. Loved the writing style of the author it kept me hooked right from the start.
I would surely recommend this book to those who love reading adventures. I would also suggest people to go ahead and dive in the story and live the adventurous lives of the villagers of Karya Kunj.
Alpha yeti begins with four mountaineers, trying their hand at an adventure, ending up meeting a fate they did not plan for. In this village, until now unknown to the villagers and the tourists, are giant evils set to tear apart the peace of the village and its people. Looking for a way out, looking for any help, the villagers hire a group of hunters to help deal with this unannounced danger.
It is, basically, a story of age old stories of the age old story tellers all coming true. The story revolves around fear, struggle, the adventure and the rescue.
Read on to find out what more the fate has in store for all these people, what is to happen with this unfortunate turn of events, and how the circumstances are dealt with.
Talking about my views on the story, this one here is straight out of a mythological or science fantasy. It is like those action films that bring fantasies of the mind out in pictures.
On a serious note, however, the theme I think is to communicate that there are so many places in the country, in the world that we don’t even know exist, and even if know about them they are just tourist spots for us to fancy and disturb their natural habitat- the real issues, their core beliefs, their fears, their values, or even their lifestyle and more is everything everyone is oblivion to. I don’t know how much these locally believed tales of the evil and the giants and the ghosts are true, but they are real and precious to the people who talk about them.
About the characters, the author has tried his best to well define them, however it took me time a little more than usual to form a structured flow chart of what is happening, to whom and why- but maybe that’s just because I am not so much experienced with the genre.
Keeping aside the fact that the writing and the typing and printing are not ideal, one word for the entire reading experience- interesting. But I still think it is better suited for someone who likes action-packed thrillers, which I personally don’t. I give it a 3 on 5.
Another thing I liked about the whole experience, not really related to the book- was the hand written note/ bookmark sent by the author along with the book. I like experiences with an added personal touch.

A Niramalaya mountain, part of Himalayas mountain has a lot of white yetis, after the separation of land. But who think of, the mountain which has white creatures can have the grey giants also?
Kasis, a tribal land near the Niramalaya mountain, has the descendents of tribes, who do not want to leave their land for any reason. Also why should they leave their land? After all it belongs to their ancestors. But if they face the situation of either losing their life or their land, will they leave their land?
The tribe is facing a big problem due to the creatures of Niramalaya mountain. No, not because of white yetis but because of a grey yeti. The grey yeti is too powerful than white yetis and feeds on the flesh rather than plants. It comes down the mountain every night after being an explosion on the mountain and kills anyone which comes in its track.
But how did the explosion occur? Many trackers, sherpas went to the mountain to prove the myths and taboos regarding grey giant wrong. But did they come back? Does these trackers are responsible for the explosion?
One of the member of tribe, Wurli, goes in search of best hunters under order of his father so they can kill the grey giant. He comes to the village where Jai Manshuklal lives with his family and friends. His family includes his wife, Roopal Thonk and their daughter, Sanu Thonk. His friends include Gohi, Dawar and Bul. As Wurli tells them about the grey giant and devastation it caused, the hunters denies to come to the village as they don't want to lose their life. In spite they always hunted many big animals, the grey yeti and its havoc made them to deny the help.
If the best hunters deny to do help then who helped the tribe or if they helped then how they became ready to fight with the grey giant? If you want to know about this and the myths and taboos of the tribe, you have to read the book.
Good points : * Very well developed characters and plot. * Interesting story, full of adventure. * Language is simple and rightly paced story.
Personally, I like it too much and waiting for its 2nd part. Although the story doesn't end on the note of making 2nd part but I hope it will make.

My opinion: The book is full of adventures & it's a great fantasy book! Each tribe is different & have their own rules & regulations. They have their different habitats. Now definitely Yeti- The beast who has bought terror to the Kaisi Tribe & now they are standing firm, fighting, trying to save their life. The book is definitely unique because of the concept used is not that usual, the characters were good, tribals had a unique lifestyle which was portrayed well. This book dragged me into forests, rivers, jungles, deserts & alot to nature places which was truly fantastic! What I liked more about the was the depiction of tribals life which was a sensitive & emotional part for me. Pros: Language was easy, writing style was good, book was short. The book is made for peoples who love adventures & are always ready to try something new. I love the transformation created by author from one part or place to another, which smoothly lifted the reader's mind & smoothly placed it in the present situation. It's highly recommend & definitely a must read. Looking forward to read more such books soon.
Cons: I wish book could be more interesting & should have a better designed cover. Rating: 3.85🌟
There is a village Kasis, at the foot of the mountain Nirmalaya, which is under the constant fear of a giant monster Yeti. It is said that White Yetis are not at all harmful for human but the Grey one that too a Alpha is the most dangerous Yeti. . Village Kasis decided to fight with this monster and finish this threat once and for all. Bhirendi, the eldest villager headed this project and they constructed a fortress embedded with several weapons that will help them to fight with monster. . But they alone were not capable of. So they hired four professional hunters to fight with the Grey Yeti. And with this, main action began.
MY REVIEW: 🦍The book started with Peck, an ace traveller, and his first encounter with a Yeti. Their encounter kick started the story with a bang. This kept me hooked to the book. . 🦍I really like the idea of the book. There is always rumour around that whether Yetis are for real or not. Whether they are dangerous for humans or not. So I really appreciate that author has picked one of the least talked topic. . 🦍Book is full of action scenes. And the way author has written those scenes is commendable. It was that real as if I am physically watching them. . 🦍Though I like the concept, cover and starting of the book but after first chapter, story moved to construction of fortress and that took several chapters. It almost killed the pace of the book with which it started. It seriously tested my patience. . 🦍Language was giving me the vibes of classic books. It was not that easy to understand. Not just because of the vocabulary, but I was feeling that it is more twisted. Some people may like the writing style, but for me, I was not comfortable. . 🦍By seeing the cover, I had huge expectations and that was the reason of picking this up. But the first half of the book and its language killed the mood of the book for me. . 🦍So I recommend this book only to those who has patience to wait for the actual action. Reader of actions, adventures, mystery genre will love this book.
Yeti had been folklore from time immemorial about a mysterious beast believed to be found in the Himalayas. The Alpha Yeti is a story dedicated to this folklore and is about a pack of Yetis whose unexpected invasion changes lives of people in the mountains. While there are a set of white Yetis who are not aggressive towards humans, the grey Yeti or the Alpha Yeti is the one who wreaks havoc on tribal villages and people exploring these mountains.
There is a village head, a saint, set of hunting enthusiasts, a family unexpectedly pulled into the middle of this fight with the Yetis. The hunters try to get hold of ancient inscriptions to know how to kill or weaken the Alpha Yeti. The rest of the story is about how the hunters try to overpower and end the Yeti and if facing the Yeti is as easy as it sounds, if this is the end of all sorrows of the tribals.
The story theme is very unique as Yeti had been folklore but never explored much as backdrop for a story. Picking such a theme and weaving a story itself is challenging and it was a brave decision by the author to pick this as a debut story. However, the story takes a very long time to get into the actual narration as almost all of the first half is about establishing the premise and the characters. This half requires some patience from the reader before the actual story takes off.
The language used by the author is also different and interesting but the vivid description of each scene, especially the fight with the Yeti gets tedious at places. A faster first half and simpler, deft narration in parts and better editing could have done wonders to the book.
Pick this one for a very unique theme and to read a thrilling fiction account of the mysterious Yetis. This one is a promising debut and hoping to see more unique stories in the future.
It was thrilling. I had no expectations going into the book and was pleasantly surprised that I couldn't put the book down towards the end. The anticipation to know the ending was high. It had the perfect twist in the end which was totally not expected. It was a 3.5/5 read for me. It transfers you to a whole another world of mountains and snow and dangerous beasts. As they say, books are uniquely portable magic that makes you to travel into different worlds, this book was successful in drawing the perfect picture of Mountain of Nirmalaya, the Good white yetis and the Evil grey yeti, the tribal people of the snowy region. There are two types of yetis. The white ones live in peace with the humans in the mountain and they don't trespass into the tribe's dwelling place. The grey yeti is rebellious and fights until it gets what it wants. It all starts when humans try to conquer nature. A group of men try to climb the icy mountain of Nirmalaya and use ammunition to damage the mountain. As a result, the habitat of the yetis is destroyed and the grey yeti - the alpha yeti tries to avenge it. The tribal people go into hiding fearing the alpha yeti. So Wurli, son of the chief tries to bring a pack of famous hunters to kill the yeti. They refuse and he kidnaps the hunter's daughter and lures them to the icy mountains. What happens to the daughter, whether the hunters succeed in killing the alpha yeti is the rest of the story. It is very engaging. The final fight scenes are very descriptive and well written. It's like you are also in that mountain and want to warn the hunters about the yeti. This book was very different from all other books that I have read this year and I enjoyed it a lot. If you are looking for a fantasy thriller with beasts and hunters and mountains then definitely read The Alpha Yeti.
A book that is full of action is always an interesting one to read. However, the beauty of an action-packed novel fades away if the sequence of events is not planned in the right manner and the narration is not impactful. I found the title of this book quite interesting and different and I enjoyed reading it as well. I give this book 4 stars out of 5 and here is my review to it.
This story is set up in a village that lies in the Nirmalaya mountain range. There are stories being heard about White Giants who are supposed to be living on these mountains. These giants are causing a fear among the locals of that village. Some of them decide to find out the reason behind these fears and end the root cause of it so that the villagers can live a peaceful life. And, then the thrill, suspense and action begin in the story. How do people try to solve their problems? Are the White Giants real or it is just a myth? Is there someone behind all that? Will there be someone who will help the villagers? Who will give them strength to continue on this deadly mission? There are many other such questions that will be answered once you read this book.
The title of the book is quite intriguing. I was curious to read about the book and find out what would be the story based on. The cover was okay. Rather than finding it scary or something related to a monster, I found it funny. The plot is okay. The backdrop and setting of the story are quite similar to the stories that are based on some monsters scaring people in the village so there was nothing new on that part. The narration pulled up the story and made it interesting.
Overall, you will enjoy reading it if you love reading thrillers based on something unimaginable.
The Alpha Yeti is full of action and adventurous book that one would like to read and re-read. It is beautifully written by Sum whose identity has not been revealed yet. I guess he wanted to keep it that way which is also very interesting.
The life of Kasis is no fairy-tale. They live in the snow-capped mountain range called Nirmalaya where White and Grey Yetis also live. The Kasis have been living in fear for centuries as the turmoil of Grey Yetis continues to harass them. It’s a battle between the good and the evil. When the group of four villagers wanted to know the mystery behind the vicious mountain and whether the Yetis are just a fiction, they embark on the journey to find only to never return again. Unknowingly, these four men enrage the White as well as the Grey Yetis and soon the entire village is in deep trouble.
The Alpha Yeti’s boiling blood ensures that not a single villager lives in peace and the villagers hide under the secret chambers of Ravial. However, Mobhaji’s son Wurli takes the matter in his hand and tries to find the ultimate solution for this problem. When he fails to convince four eminent hunters from the West, he abducts Jai’s daughter Sanau. It leaves them no choice but enters the land of terrors and to face the evil giant.
The novel is quite interesting, unique and simple to follow. Each chapter is action-packed and full of suspense. I loved reading every bit of it and it continuously gives me same excitement what we usually get while watching Game of Thrones.
The author has neatly maintained the authenticity of the plot by using the right vocabulary. Everything falls in the right place where it has to be, making it a great read! Read my full review here: http://bit.ly/TheAlphaYeti
We have all heard of folklore stories of Yetis and Mammoths ever since we were kids. As the name suggests, this book revolves around an Alpha Yeti who wreaks havoc on triballands of Kasis. Many adventurers head out in an attempt to get a glimpse of the Yeti but never return. When the leader of the tribe fears that the Yetis might invade their village anyday, he orders his people to build a massive fortress all around. But Yetis are stronger and the village is ransacked. According to the legends, Yetis live in snow covered mountains and not interfere with humans. The concept of the book was refreshing although there were few flaws in executing the same. With the leader dead, the tribes reach out to a group of hunters who are skilled in what they do. The leader of the group is a man called Jai, and when he refuses to help them, they kidnap his daughter to lure him to the village. What takes place next is the war between the grey Yeti and the hunters. Unknown to them, a white Yeti appears and helps the hunters in taking down the Alpha Yeti. But there's more than just one grey monster that they have to deal with. Read the book to know if the hunters can actually defeat the strongest creatures on Earth. Will they survive or be swallowed by the mighty Yetis.
My take: The plot was interesting enough to keep me going but as I read through I found the story become very meek. The story could have been well executed by building the characters more strongly. The story felt slightly impossible to visualize considering how a six year old daughter of Jai is capable of such bravado as portrayed in the novel. I also found it loosely constructed. Here's hoping that the sequel will be a much better read.
My Review: It was a while ago that I started reading this book. To begin with the selection of the book, I wasn't sure why did I click on the submission form against this book. Maybe the cover excited me to venture into something which I was expecting to be a thriller. I wasn't disheartened by the book selection and thereby the faith in Writer's Melon was well paid-off. I have been struggling to finish this one since a long time. The plot begins with a struggle quoting about the trekkers in the mountains. If anyone who would have taken a trekking expedition would understand the severity of situation where trekkers are injured, low on oxygen and undergo loads of pressure, mental as well as physical. The story revolves around a plot where four trekkers decide to venture the Nirmalaya range, and they trespassed the Yeti tribe of the region. They trespassed the tribe and of course landed in trouble, which was a trouble for the tribe residing in the range as well. The horror stories about the white monsters of the region was the highlight of the folklore of the tribe. The plot mentioned about the life of tribal people of the range, adventure tales of the mountaineers and thrills of chasing around the white monsters of the range. The author has combined multiple genres together to bring out the essence of the plot. There is thriller, horror, drama and adventure adding versatility to the plot. It is a perfect partner for a traveler, though it might freak out some of the trekkers and they would prefer leaving the tribes in peace. It is a simple read with a short and crisp writing involved in description scenarios in every chapter. I enjoyed reading the plot and here people should experience the story of "Yeti" from the author's perspective.
The plot is based in the icy snow capped mountainous range of Niramalaya. The story begins with a mountaineer's encounter with a Yeti, he is the one who has already scaled different mountains numerous times. But here what happens with him is described in the initial chapter. There is a village on the foot of the mountainous range The residents of that village often have encounters with them. The are trives and have their own primitive way of dealing with it. When the situations get worse they hire some hunters to get away from them. But what happens next? Give it read to find out.
The story is beautifully written, the plot seems realistic though it's based on adventures and fantasy. The emotions of tribal people and ace hunters are captured well. There's also an involvement of father-daughter relationship adding to the emotional touch to it. Many fight scenes were there, they were kinda predictable i feel.
The book is a nice attempt but it constantly dwells in jargon , that means it has emphasis on those technical terms of english, which may or may not get along with the audience. So , that's why the execution part of it is falling weak at times. I'm personally a fan of fantasy books but i couldn't really be of this one maybe i couldn't connect with the language, because it gets complex at times and not really let's reader be in touch with the story.
I'm giving it - 3🌟 on 5
Recommended- Yes, definitely to be given one time read excluding the errors and fantasy lovers will outlook them all.
The Alpha Yeti by Sum We have heard old tales and folklores about Yetis, Big Foot etc. and this book falls under that category. I have lived in the hills throughout my childhood and grew up listening to such stories. The story is set in the foothills of the mountains called Nirmalya, where the villagers live in a constant fear of the White Giants whose presence can only be felt through loud sounds. The book starts off by introducing us to a character called Peck, who’s a pro-mountaineer, and his encounter with the White Giant. The story proceeds with the villagers’ of the Kasi Tribe trying to hunt down and fight the Grey Yeti. Though the vividness of the plot can get tiring, I really enjoyed this storyline. It is a challenging book to write because of the lack of information people have, all stories ever told are mostly concocted out of thin air. This is an action packed book and I’m sure the readers will enjoy it. It is a short quick read so I couldn’t develop a connection with all the characters. While the pace of the book is faster in the beginning, it gets a little clumsy after that. The narration could have been better since I was overwhelmed with the descriptions at a certain point. The cover of the book is more comical and childish and doesn’t bring out the seriousness of the story. Though I don’t judge the book by its cover, I felt it does injustice to the wonderful work done by the author.
Yeah no points for guessing I loved this book. My name is Manali and for those of you who don't know Manali is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh. It's beautiful and cool and mesmerizing and whenever I visit there I get free ice-creams. I have always been very curious and inquisitive. I would roam about and wander all around and make friends with strangers. My parents were worried so my Nani read me the story of the evil Yeti who eats little girls like me or as I was back then. So did it stop me from wandering around, no I just started carrying a paper and pencil so I can ask the Yeti questions. So when I hear of a book that is called The Alpha Yeti but obviously I was interested. And boy oh boy did the author deliver. It's an exciting first part to what's bound to be an interesting series. Every character is not only well written but also they are well established. Another thing I really loved about this book is the description of the relationship between a father and daughter. Remember Liam Nelson from Taken, yeah this guy can give him a run for his money. And the Yeti was... Well I can't go any more in the story or else I will end up giving you spoilers, which I don't want to, cause who doesn't hate spoilers. Not me. I hate spoilers. So off you go and pick up this amazing book by SUM - The Alpha Yeti cause it will blow your mind.
At first glance cover and title taken me, seriously i was totally lost that what can story be and i became so excited to explore the alpha yeti and yes it was as per my expectations.
As shown in the cover a devil or a giant is a specific character who disturbes the folks residing in Karya Kunj village which is situated near Nirmalaya mountain ranges. People there living a peaceful life but this peaceful live becomes unpleasant or messy when they heard about white giant and then the main sequence of action start taking place.
To get rid of white giant Kurya Kunj people try many thing. Were they successful or not? You can find this by reading this absulutly fine strory which is a potpourri of thrill, mystery, horror and many more. I thoroughly enjoyed this soldi story.
Language is lucid and narrative part is comprehensive. Their are many characters. Places described in the story are so fascinating. Plot is very strong and realistic.
I was able to connect this story to jajantram and mamantram movie which is my favorite childhood movies. This can be transformed in a movied it is very epic story and people will love it with their action part.
Like to recommend to all go and grab your copy soon to gey to know more about giant.
There are some stories that keep you riveted to your seats. The Alpha Yeti is one such book. The story is set in Karya Kunj, which a small village at the foot of a mountain range called Nirmalya. The village is remote and lacks basic facilities. But the worst is still to come. The White Giants who were only a myth by then surface out of the blue. Their presence is felt only through a loud sound. Four mountaineers do encounter the White Giant. Will the White Giant leave them unharmed? Will the White Giant kill the villagers or would it be the other way round? Who is the White Giant and what is the mystery surrounding it? To find answers to all these questions you will have to read The Alpha Yeti.
What I liked the most about the book is its realistic setting. We are oblivious to the fact that there are many villages where there is still no electricity, no potable water and no medical facilities. Such villages exist even today, but we have closed our eyes to it. The book highlights the plight of these villagers. After mooring the story into realistic setting, it unfurls the adventure. The action scenes are very well written and the suspense will give you goosebumps. The Alpha Yeti is a book not to be missed.
Big Foots or Yetis are among most famous folklore in mountains and this book builds an action packed thriller on that. This story is set up in mountain range Nirmalaya where old legends of monstrous creatures, Yetis, start becoming a reality. As the encounters between Yetis and humans increase, four villagers set out to find the reality behind the white giants on mountains which are causing fear among villagers. After a destructive episode of Yeti rampage in village, they hire a group of hunters to put an end to the terror and restore the lost peace. To know what happens next, read the story.
Because of its unique plot, I had huge expectations from this read but it happened to be just an okay book. It is an action packed suspense thriller which was predictable all along. The background of book is realistic which shows struggle of villagers for basic amenities and lack of support from government. The fictional face-off between Yeti and humans was exciting. Narration was good which made the story interesting. The pace of story feels rushed at times which makes it confusing. Writing style is good but one more round of editing would help.
Overall, it’s a decent story which can be picked by if one is interested in action and adventures.
Cover is good. Though I feel it could have been better designed.
Title is catchy, good & pleasing to the eyes.
The book quality was poor. Pages could have been a bit better.
The book is an action packed one which talks extensively about mythical beasts called yeti. Some believe they don't exists, other tribes solely believe they do. It had been said, that via some parts of the legend trace back to the origin of some of the mysterious equations of nature, which says that apart from human beings, other creatures also inhabited planet earth. There were others before us & they continue to inhabit till this date. Lots of stereotypes, prejudice, fear, beliefs, moral values, ethics, family bond, faith coupled with many other factors stop humans from exploring & extrapolating on factors which could lead to a change or an invention of a kind. Nature works in mysterious ways to keep us surprised in every possible way.
The suspense, thriller, mystery, action, adventure, part added blends naturally with the plot. The prophecy Language is simple, good & easy to read. Though it has some mistakes, which could have been improvised with a touch of proofreading & editing.
