Started out a bit shaky for me but ended up great.

The beginning started off a bit shaky for me. As I was getting to know the characters I took a big dislike to Fin. Even though Lilah had a massive crush on him since she was a child, he treated her like crap and completely broke her heart.
That made it difficult to warm up to him once he started to realize the error of his ways. I completely related to Lilah has she tried to figure out what he wanted with her.
The fact that her family mixed with his family constantly made it difficult to turn off her feelings. He was her best friend! But when he started putting himself in front of her on a daily basis and working his way back in, I started warming up to him.
I have to say Fin turned out to be a great character with an amazing back bone to take on her mother and be incredibly supportive, not to mention a hot, yummy cowboy. I love the way the author showed us Lilah's strengths and weaknesses, her undying passion regardless of what was trying to knock her off track... like her crazy mother! The ending was sweet and so heartwarming too.
This book is a beautiful second chance story that is passionate, sexy, and very endearing. There are so many wonderful details in this book that make it memorable. Definitely a series I’m going to follow.

DNF past the half way mark so it gets rated.

Because of tragic backstory reasons, the alpha hero was not ready for love two months ago when he had surprise epic truck sex with the heroine, his lifelong friend. So when the heroine follows up the loss of her virginity with a confession of love, he insults her four different ways before they even get out of the truck:
1. He mocks her for confusing sex with love.
2. He castigates himself for hooking up with a friend, which is now going to make the pump-and-dump awkward...for him.
3. He accuses her of being Fatal Attraction-levels of clingy.
4. He orders her to keep away from him.
Three and four seem excessive, since I'm pretty sure one and two would be enough to make her want to avoid him. Which she does, for two months. Now he has his head screwed on straight (partly because his brother, the hero of the first book, just got married so love is possible or something), and he needs toinvent a time machine, go back two months and not be an ass repair the damage he's done to his relationship with the heroine.
This would have been a four-star book, but because I liked it so much, I decided to read the first book in the series (Branded). The protagonists in that book were basically identical to the protagonists in this one. Same speech patterns, same attitudes, similar set-up where he done her wrong then let her stew for a few months before blackmailing her into a job to rope her back into his life.
I'm actually okay with authors writing the same book over and over again when they're standalones. Tweak the careers, switch up the tragic backstory and I'm happy to read the same emotions all over again. But when a series is linked together by heroes who are brothers, a reader needs to be able to differentiate one set of protagonists from the next. If you're only going to read one book in this series (and, so far, I would recommend that you only read one of 'em), make it Braced.

The Brody Brothers are back and at it again. Yep, those domineering boys who seem to be misunderstood by the townsfolk, are back in true Alpha form.
This is Fin’s story. Fin doesn’t believe in love, and after the mess of a marriage his parent had, who could really blame him. But seeing his oldest brother find love while he lost his best friend snapped something in him. Fin just knew something was missing from his life and that was his sunshine.
Lilah has loved Fin Brody since she was about 5 years old. Right up until he broke her heart by taking her virginity and then telling her it was a mistake and she was misguided by thinking lust/sex was an act of love. Proving what her mother always said, she just wasn’t good enough and never would be; especially for a Brody. Feeling humiliated Lilah avoided Fin and the ranch for months and concentrated on graduating and becoming a vet, as she’d always dreamed, and forgetting Fin Brody.

BRACED by Stacy Gail is such a fun romance, I just loved it! Fin and Lilah have known each other forever. They even had a pretend wedding when they were kids. Fin screws up and Lilah is done with him. Fin has to prove his feelings for her are real before she'll give him another chance. Lilah's Mom, Dottie is a witch, she's so mean and hurtful! Fin is one of four brothers, all good-looking and rich. Life on the ranch is never boring!Lots of action and love in this 5 🌟 read!!!

Entertaining, but nothing new. Alpha hero with a sad childhood breaks his best friend’s heart after “epic truck sex” and her “I love you”. Takes him a few months to get his head out of his @$$ and force making up, her backbone lasts until around 50%, not bad considering “epic truck sex”.

Braced by Stacy Gail is a second-chance romance with all the feels. From angst to love, passion and family, this book has it all. This is the first book I read by this author and it will not be my last.
Lilah Ledbetter is nursing a broken heart, one given to her by the only man she ever loved, Fin Brody. She is also dealing with low self esteem from the constant reminder, from her perfectionist mother, that she can never be good enough for Fin.
Fin Brody now knows he made the biggest mistake in his life when he took Lilah’s virginity and then discarded her and their friendship after her declaration of love.
He now has an uphill battle to try and win back his best friend and the trust she gave. Lilah has built up walls however and refuses to believe in him or anything he says or does.
With Lilah bracing herself against heartbreak, is it too late for Fin to win back everything he’s ever wanted?
This was such an amazing read. From the beginning, the connection between Fin and Lilah was palpable. I could feel Lilah’s heartbreak and her pain. Fin also made it abundantly clear that he would do anything and everything to regain Lilah’s trust.
The writing flowed well and had me tearing up, laughing and cheering Fin on.
This is an absolutely touching and heartfelt read. Brace yourself, this is on hell of a book!

I love this author so much.
I seemed to have finally found a book by her though that didn't fit with my personal tastes.
I need a "transformation" from a&&hole hero to awesome hero. Not an instant I'm changed overnight hero. I needed to see why Fin changed his mind. I needed to know when his feelings changed. I was told he wanted her but not the why and when. I also hurt, so deeply for this heroine. She saved herself for him for her entire life. While he in his own words "screwed,used and forgot" women. That is just heartbreaking.
I loved the secondary characters. There's some pretty funny dialogue. I didn't like how there wasn't any crossover from the previous story. I wanted the bakery and more Ry and Celia. Oh well I definitely found it was well written, very sweet at parts. Had some Stacy Gail sexy times and one of the best epilogue ever. I rated his 3 stars for I liked it but wished for more.

Ok read. h seemed to have an unhealthy view of the H in more than one way.
Also whats with the muting of the h's sexuality while the H is protrayed as a casual sex guy. The h has almost finished college, its hard to believe she had no sexual needs...so she was pining for this guy that was sleeping around??!
I dare authors like this to trump these awful double standards or switch it around!!!

I was completely addicted to this book from the very first page, I really didn’t want to love it as much as I did because Finian Brody is kind of an ass but… I loved it. Lilah’s mother worked for the Brody family meaning that Lilah grew up with the Brody brothers, practically a sister and definitely a best friend. Lilah was closest to Fin and wound up letting him take her virginity quickly followed by him completely crushing her and sending her away. Now, months later, Lilah is 100% focused on finishing Veterinarian school and working along side the local vet, Dr. Petrosian. Fin realizes that he doesn’t want to live life without Lilah but Lilah giving him a second chance isn’t going to be easy especially when she has a little birdie in her ear telling her she isn’t worthy.
Lilah’s veterinary work had me cracking up laughing – the book starts out with her literally chasing goats and I laughed throughout the whole book. She and Fin’s characters are definitely perfect matches and I was really excited that we got glimpses of the other Brody brothers too. Fin Brody takes alpha male to a whole new level.
The thing I didn’t love about this book was Lilah being so dang oblivious! Fin literally did everything but actually say the words to show her he loved her and she was completely in the dark. Plus, Fin was the most controlling human ever – I don’t know how the author managed to write a character that I hated and loved all at the same time. It made me love the book more though and I’m literally on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. The Brody brothers are the most surly of men and this author does a phenomenal job with their personalities.

This is the second book in the series - and I think you would benefit from reading Branded first, as this explains just how awful the home-life of these men was, and does explain some of their hang ups! In Branded I was incredibly angry with Fin's brother Ry, but this time Fin's behaviour made much more sense.
Lilah and her brother grew up alongside the Brody's, as their mother ran the office at the ranch. Lilah has been in love with Fin ever since he saved her from a bully, so when he finally paid her some attention, she allowed him everything. He, however, made some horrible remarks, and broke her heart. As we find out, that really was inexcusable, but when taken with her mother's exhortations that she is not worthy of a Brody, has really destroyed Lilah's confidence. Therefore when Fin suddenly wants to be around her again, she is very skeptical, and extremely nervous.
As the story unfolds, and we get to see how hard Fin is trying to explain the change in his behaviour, we can only hope that they act on the amazing chemistry that exists. I love some of the humour in this book - often involving her pets, especially Elmo. There are some clever twists, and more secrets of the Brody past are revealed, which will not doubt be important in future books - I cannot wait!

I really enjoyed Braced it would be the first book that I've read by the author and I'm so excited to see what's to come . Even though this is book two in the Brody Brothers series it can be read as a standalone . It did take me some time to connect with the characters but the more the story went on the more I fell for them and became invested into the story . My heart broke for the heroine the pain she has been through I so didn't like her mom and when we find out what the hero did it made me not like him so much but he made me feel different along with the herione . If you are looking for a good story Braced is one you need to look for and get it as soon as possible .

I had read book 1 of the Brody Brothers series (which you should read but don't have to to enjoy Braced!) and thought this was an engaging western/ranching/small town series and so I was quite looking forward to book 2. No disappointment here, this was a great read - even better than the first!!
If you read book 1 (Branded) you saw we got just a hint of what was in store for this story. I love a good romance where the guy has messed up bad (but not cheated) and has to win the trust and goodwill of the lady back again. This is the entire premise for this story and I was drawn into it right away.
Lilah was terribly hurt by Fin and even more so based on her mother's actions and, most importantly, her words that seemed to back up his rejection of her. No doubt, Fin was a big jerk but he has issues too based on his family history. The two of them have to work past all of that and decide to come together the way they really want to. I loved it - hit all my angsty buttons just right but didn't let it linger too long before beginning to work back to a good place for the characters.
Totally recommend!

i LOVED THIS BOOK!!! YEAH LILAH!!! Ok, that being said, the Brody Brothers are back and Fin takes the lead in this story that will have you wanting to go after him with a dull butter knife (if you get my drift). He took something from Lilah and put it under his boot and smashed it into nothing. Not only her virginity but her heart as well, which also worked hand in hand with what her mother has always told her about Fin...she wasn't good enough for him. But just to give Fin a little slack, he has his issues with relationships, dating back to his parents. But what he did to Lilah was downright dirty and I thoroughly enjoyed how she handled his advances when he finally came to his senses and realized that he missed her and needed her in his life. He deserved everything she dished out to him..and a little more just for added spice and making sure he never forgot!
I loved these well written and a bit complex characters. I loved this storyline and I loved these books. I cannot recommend them highly enough !

4 Star review Branded (The Brody Brothers #2) by Stacy Gail
This is Finian Brody and Lilah Ledbetter’ story. This was a good read and I have to say that straight off the bat Stacy Gail had me laughing as Lilah tried to capture the elusive goat that had gotten free.
As with his brother Ry, Fin was an arrogant jerk, but he grew on me slowly. Lilah deserved so much more than how he treated her and I was frustrated by her at times.
Lilah has always had a bit of a crush on Fin and even slept with him.
However it all went downhill after he broke her heart and I struggled to see any good in him until further into the book. Lilah in the other hand I loved, she was a determined, feisty woman who has plans for her life.
The old adage, you don’t know what you’ve lost until it’s gone reminds me of Fin. Once he realises the error of his ways, he sets out to claim Lilah. There was certainly chemistry between these two and I am glad that Lilah did not make it easy for Fin.
A second chance at love story that will tug at your heart, I really liked the way that Fin stood up to Lilah’s overbearing mother. Once he came into his own, it was good to see how much he supported Lilah.

I loved Lilah's reaction to Fin's advances. No woman wants to be on the receiving end of "hit it and quit it" speech right after sex, and when Fin gives her his version of that speech she knows she's done. Lilah has been in love with Fin since she was a kid, they even got "married" when she was six.
When Fin shows up at the vet clinic where she's working and insisting that she's the on-call tech for his ranch, she's confused. He told her that he wasn't into her but now he wants to talk and explain.

Lilah's reactions to Fin are spot on . No one trusts a guy whose initial reaction after sex is one thing and a few months later comes back with the "I didn't mean it like" speech.
I'm ready for the next book in series.

I loved Lilah's reaction to Fin's advances. No woman wants to be on the receiving end of "hit it and quit it" speech right after sex, and when Fin gives her his version of that speech she knows she's done. Lilah has been in love with Fin since she was a kid, they even got "married" when she was six.
When Fin shows up at the vet clinic where she's working and insisting that she's the on-call tech for his ranch, she's confused. He told her that he wasn't into her but now he wants to talk and explain.

The second book in the Brody Brothers series, Braced, is Finn and Lilah’s story. Great characters, engaging interaction and a wonderful storyline made this a fabulous addition to this series. I will be reading more and recommend if you haven’t read this series, yet you pick up book 1 today.

Lilah has been in love with Fin (Finian) Brody forever. When she finally gives him the only thing she can give him, he takes that gift and breaks her heart right after. Now, months later, he is suddenly realizing what he lost, and he's determined to get her back, no matter how much she fights him on it. Sigh...
Now, don't get me wrong, I love me a determined alpha as much as the next person, but Fin wasn't just determined, he was an asshole, plain and simple. I understand (explained too late in the story, though) why he had such an aversion to love, but it didn't excuse his behavior the night he broke poor Lilah's heart. If I were her, I would have taken his cruel words to heart, and would never have let him back into my life, no matter how persistent he was. Because the way he treated her was absolutely unacceptable regardless of his reason for having no time in his life for love. So, as much as I liked some of the characters (Lilah, Casey, Fin's brother Killian) in this story, I absolutely could not stand Fin and could not understand why Lilah took him back.

The 2nd book in the Brody Brothers series is "Braced" and this is Finn and Lilah’s story.
Fin and Lilah have known each other since they were children. They even had a make-believe wedding when they were nothing more but children. When they were older, Fin screws up BIG TIME and Lilah finally is done with him. Fin realizes he has to prove his feelings for her are real because she'll never give him another chance and he needs his Lilah.
Fin finally realizes he made the HUGEST mistake in his life when he took Lilah’s virginity and discarded their friendship and Lilah after she finally declarated her love for him. Months went by where she didn't acknowledge Finn and things were pretty tense. The emotions in this book are tense,painful, heartbreaking, emotional , unexpected, and yes, steamy, intense and healing.
I didn't think I would like Finn but the Unexpected twists/turns had me rethinking things. Finn and Lilah make for a great couple in this book. Their 2nd chance romance is phenomenal and I cant wait for more books in this series.

4.5 Stars for Braced by Stacy Gail.
Braced is book 2 in The Brody Brothers Series but it can certainly be read as a stand-alone I know this because Stacy Gail is a new author to me and I have to say time permitting I will definitely be checking out book 1 in this series of cowboy brothers.
Fin was not an easy person to like he had treated Lilah badly but as the story progresses you get to see a man who has seen the errors of his ways and a man who is determined to prove to the girl he is worth taking a second chance on. Lilah grew up with the Brody brothers infact as children she convinced Fin’s older brother to marry her and Fin but after a romp in the backseat of a truck Fin runs in the opposite direction but now he is back trying his best to win the girl who holds a piece of his heart back ....... Will Lilah risk her heart getting broken for a second time.....
A second chance romance that’s beautifully written, it’s passionate and has a family of brothers I want to know more about because let’s be happy nest who can resist a alpha male in a cowboy hat....

Braced was a great story about 2 people who grew up together. Fin is one of the owners of Green rock ranch, one of the infamous Brody brothers, Lilah is the daughter of Dottie, Green Rock ranch’s secretary (and I have to add ‘what an evil bitch’). Fin and Lilah have been best friends forever, since Fin saves her from a bully at the age of 3 and Lilah has loved him ever since, until one night they cross the friends to lovers line and Lilah tells him how she has always loved him and he tells her it was a mistake. I loved both characters Lilah has a lot of spunk and independence and Fin is the King of all he surveys and very used to getting his own way, it doesn’t take him long to realise how bad he messed up and sets about righting his wrongs, I loved Fin’s “you’re pretty much stuck with me, honey” attitude when it came to winning his girl over. I would highly recommend this book I loved it.

This is the second book in this series, and in my opinion, Branded needs to be read first, in order to get a better understanding of why these brothers have turned out they way they have. Lilah has loved Fin forever, and when he broke her heart, she has had enough. Fin has his work cut out for him in order to prove to Lilah that he is the one for her. This is a well written story, which is filled with action, angst, heartbreak, passion, and love, and is a great second chance love story. I was intrigued and hooked throughout, and look forward to reading more from this talented author, who I highly recommend for all readers.

An excellent book by Stacy Gail...it was touching, romantic and witty. The story of Fin Brody and Lilah Ledbetter was just OMG! Best Friends their entire life until one fateful night when that line was crossed. Fin tries over and over again to convince Lilah he isn't the same man he was that night but when she has her mother's negative words in her head making her doubt she is worthy of Fin's Love things go upside down.
This is a terrific book with some twists you just don't see coming. Kudos to Stacy Gail!

Oh Fin and Lilah were perfect together! She was stubborn, sweet, and vulnerable. He was stubborn, sweet, and determined. Best friends since they were children, an incident separated them. The phrase "you don't know what you have until it is gone" fits Fin perfectly, but Lilah has a lot going on in her life, and a pushy, controlling mother on top of that
Lots of back and forth between these two, and lots of convincing to happen. What it all cumulates in is some great chemistry, lots of fireworks, and a whole lot of head-butting. In the end, the love they share is all the sweeter because of it all

Stacy Gail is an author that can write swoon-worthy alpha male heroes and Finian is no different from the rest. I liked that he proved how much he really loved Lilah. A little groveling never hurts a man, y'know. Plus, I liked that the h was strong and not a doormat. Though, I was quite surprised by how the character of her mom turned out. Didn't see that coming when she first showed up in book 1. If you're in the mood for a sweet, hot read, be sure to read Braced.

Oh my gosh, can we just say OTT ALPHA?!??! LOVED Braced, this book totally sucked me in. The emotional upheaval was so relatable and I loved reading this story and seeing the transformation throughout. The dynamics are complicated and watching the story unfold will give you quite the book hangover. Drama, humor, a OTT Alpha H and a hilarious and sensitive h will make you want to read it again.

Lilah and Finian had a hot relationship until he broke her heart. Now he's trying to get her back and convince her he has changed for the better. Lilah ends up working on the ranch and there is no avoiding Fin. Will the couple be able to work things out? This was a great read.

Stacy Gail once again wraps you up in a great story so endearing! I'm so in love with this series.
Fin Brody just melts you to your bones with his alpha male yummy. Lila is perfect, strong willed woman, and Fin is determined to fix this right. The steamy chemistry these two have is hot off the charts sexy! You'll laugh, swoon and maybe cry a bit. Stacy writes a killer epilogue so have a tissue. Totally 5 stars
