Ellen Forney grew up in Philadelphia and has lived in Seattle since 1989. She has been a professional cartoonist/ illustrator since 1992, and also sometimes paints, and dabbles in other artsy pursuits. She teaches Comics at Seattles Cornish College of the Arts. She drives a silver 1968 Mercury Cougar.
This wee book is awful cute, and as Ellen Forney is only a couple years older than me, I found much to relate to, from the obnoxious brother, to overblown childhood drama, to the family vacations to visit nudist camps (however we didn't participate... just passin' by!)... all in the glorious 70s! The drawing style is very charming, too, like an illustrated note that you would pass to a friend.
Cute little collection of comics about everyday stuff such as parents throwing themed parties and the joys of acquiring new tech of the day (a microwave).
I throughly enjoyed and found the stories to be relatable and humorous.
